Abstract: Information about the presentation by John Power, head of research and library services of the Northern Ireland Assembly, discussed during the 68th International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) Council and General Conference held on August 18 to 24, 2002 in Glasgow, Scotland is presented. Power discussed the vital role played by the research and library service in the provision of information to the people, government and lawmakers in the country.
