Leadership for the digital and entrepreneurial society is a relatively new and emerging area of study, as the rapid pace of technological change has brought new challenges and opportunities for leaders. Forasmuch as digital society continues to evolve and grow, and as COVID-19 has had a significant impact on leadership practices and has brought about some notable changes in how leaders approach their roles, new leadership models are emerging to meet the unique provocations and chances of this context. The scientific literature on this specific topic is still emerging, but some key themes have already come up emphasizing the importance of agility and adaptability as organizations have to rapidly pivot their operations in response to the increasingly necessary digital expansion accelerated by the pandemic. As traditional business models are disrupted, leaders who are able to effectively leverage new technologies while thinking creatively and taking risks are more likely to succeed. Therefore, considering that the subject is still in its early stages, the research topic is to examine the leadership models that should be utilized in order to improve the digital and entrepreneurial context answering the main research questions related to the steps and leadership practices that will make a significant difference in both digital and entrepreneurial societies. The past literature on empirical and theoretical topics is compiled via a systematic review. An analysis of the content that is qualitative and descriptive was planned. Scopus, Web of Science or Google Scholar search results were of great help in carrying out the study and various leadership models were examined. The paper's theoretical contribution is the definition of a set of rules and criteria on where to focus on leadership. The digital economy has become a key issue for both theoreticians and practitioners worldwide, especially in the last decade. It is based on various forms of technology, such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and blockchain. The aim of the paper is to briefly present and analyse the evolution of the digital economy in Romania in the period 2019-2022. In this respect, the authors used a qualitative research method. The results show that the period 2019-2022 witnessed a slight decrease in Romania's performance related to the Digital Economy and Society Index. The paper indicates that despite its efforts, Romania has scored well below the other EU countries. Digital transformation or digitisation is one of the global megatrends leading to structural and organisational reforms in the public and private sector by adopting information and communication technology (ICT) solutions to optimise operations and provide improved services to customers or citizens. The first and last parts of the paper present the content and strategic objectives of the European and Romanian Digital Single Market as well as the risks involved in the development of the digital economy. The measures adopted by the European Commission to support digitisation in the Member States are also presented, as well as those to reduce the risks generated by cyber-attacks. The paper also includes a quantitative analysis of the evolution of digitisation in Romania compared to the EU 27 average. In the following pages we have developed research of the Digital Economy, in which we discuss the advantages and the disadvantages its implementation brings in the work field, for both the employee and the employer. We also approach the emergence and development of this concept in Romania, and how the Coronavirus Pandemic influenced the companies' activity. Moreover, the research contains the main aspects to be pursued in the course of the companies' activity, stating the rights and duties of both the employee and the employer. We aim to find out why most companies have chosen to opt for digitalizing, what benefits come with its implementation and also the main disadvantages of working in a digital environment. The Fourth Industrial Revolution had a major impact on the labor market. There are many consequences of the digitalization of the economy, but this research shows the changes in supply structure on the Romanian labor market. The companies that are operating in Romania usually publish job opportunities on recruitment platforms. Using the web scraping techniques we will identify which jobs are currently available on the Romanian labor market, in which cities, but also the field of activity. First of all, we will analyze the concentration of jobs in cities. We will classify these jobs based on an official classification code used by the Romanian state, because the job offer is very wide. Moreover, we will analyze the level of experience and the level of training that the candidate must have. In Romania, the main economic centers are Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj-Napoca. In these three cities we also identify the highest concentration of jobs. There are many jobs in the IT field and those jobs that involve communication. Candidates with at least one year of experience in the field are preferred, as well as candidates who are willing to work full time. It can be noted that jobs with repetitive activity have almost disappeared, because they have been replaced by industrial robots. Also, it can be seen that employers are looking for candidates with higher education. In this step we will talk about job polarization phenomenon. Finally, the paper aims to indicate the stage of development of the Romanian labor market and what young people need to know before choosing their future career. Considered to be an important engine for growth, competitiveness and innovation, with an enormous potential for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enter - prises (SMEs), digital economy is rapidly expanding globally. The paper presents a picture of the digital ecosystem in Romania. For Romania, it is estimated that the potential economic and developmental benefits of digitization can reach up to 42 billion euros in additional gross domestic product by 2025, (McKensey Report, 2018). The work also offers a synthetic information about important and valuable tips for small bu - si nesses related to the most used E-marketing tools. There were considered website, email marketing, social media marketing, growth hacking, mobile marketing, and video marketing. The paper aims at measuring the efficiency of the digital economy in EU countries. For that purpose, data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used. Sub-dimensions of the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) are used as inputs and the Sustainable Development Goals Index (SDGI) as an output. The results revealed that Bulgaria, Italy and Romania are the most efficient digital economies in terms of human capital; Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal in terms of connectivity; Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania in terms of integration of digital technology; and Romania in terms of digital public services. This study looks at the multi-criteria hierarchy of Romanian regions from the standpoint of the digital economy using particular information and communication technology statistics released by EUROSTAT. The multi-criteria hierarchy of regions' practical application comes from the fact that it enables experts, national and local public authorities, to understand the actual situation and the place of each region in the ranking. In relation to these positions, the existing interregional disappearances are highlighted and necessary measures can be taken to reduce them at the expense of special and regional programs. What is specific to this paper is the application of methods other than those commonly used in regional analysis. It is about the methods of competitive analysis of companies, namely: the synthetic indicator procedure, the comparison matrix procedure, the distance procedure and the final ranking procedure. These procedures have been adapted to the regional analysis. The target time period was 2008-2020. The results of the analysis revealed once again the existence of the two regional poles of Romania from the perspective of the digital economy. The digitalization of the economy has become a powerful driving force in recent decades, significantly impacting economic growth globally. This transformation has brought about several changes in how businesses operate, how people interact, and how business transactions occur. In this article, we aimed to explore the influence of the digitalization of the economy on economic growth and highlight the benefits of this evolution. In this approach, we started by analysing the dynamics of digitalization indicators. To demonstrate the role of digitization in economic growth, we used regression analysis considering GDP per Capita as the dependent variable and several variables considered in the DESI calculation as causal variables. Since 2015, there has been an increased interest, both political and regulatory, in the role of online platforms in Europe's digital economy. In this context, of rapid development we ask ourselves: What value do online research platforms provide to Romanian researchers? The digital economy has become a topic of interest for many international organizations due to the fact that technological innovations dominate both individuals' activities and business organizations. Thus, the strategies of more and more companies have started to focus on the development of products / services that ensure the way of managing productive operations through the use of digital economy tools. From this point of view, we mention that the information technology has been gradually included in companies' current activities which concurs significantly to the efficiency of their operations. At the same time, it has increased the interest for hardware and software products, but also for other similar products that have changed the way of doing business. In this context, the activity related to the ICT sector is higher internationally, given the fact that the big economies of the world develop complex plans for the progress of the digital economy of the society. What does digitalization really mean? What is the impact on increasing economic competitiveness? How does it affect the way we live today? The answers may be different from multiple perspectives of understanding this phenomenon. For some it means advanced technologies in everyday work, for others it means permanent communication with others or even a whole new way of doing business, facilitating access to services, fast execution of time-consuming activities etc. In essence, it seems that digitalization means the use of information technology to create added value in an accelerated way, an element that makes you competitive with others. Romania occupies the last place in the European Union, in terms of digitalization, which we could regard as an opportunity, because the dynamics of the last years show a rapid growth of the digital economy in Romania compared to the countries of the European Union. Based on these premises, the article aims to answer the following questions: With what additional effort could Romania accelerate the growth rate of the digital economy?; what are the measures that the private sector should take?; what should the public sector do?; diversification of digital tools used to increase productivity, accessing new customers, will expanding on global markets lead to increased economic competitiveness?; will the integration of technologies in the public sector increase the quality of the services offered to companies and citizens?; is Romania in a good position so that it can benefit from the opportunity of digitalization?; Does digitalization mean the elimination of jobs at an unprecedented rate or the creation of new jobs?
