SCHOLARSHIPS - Abstract
Faculty can rely on curriculum developers, instructional designers, and assessment professionals' expertise to incorporate program theory and implementation fidelity into the work of learning improvement. In the late 2010s, assessment professionals began to turn their attention to how assessment practices in higher education may unintentionally contribute to achievement gaps among groups - particularly, those among students with different racial identities and those between first-generation and non-first-generation students. It also requires that (a) faculty be integral to and collaborate on learning improvement efforts because they design curricula and assessment tasks and (b) students be included in assessment and change processes.
