Abstract The active distribution network (ADN) can obtain measurement data, estimate system states, and control distributed energy resources (DERs) and flexible loads to ensure voltage stability. However, the ADN is more vulnerable to cyber attacks due to the recent wave of digitization and automation efforts. In this article, false data injection (FDI) attacks are focused on and they are classified into two types, that is, type I attacks on measurement data and type II attacks on control commands. After studying the impact of these two FDI attacks on the ADN, a new threat is revealed called coordinated FDI attack, which can maximize the voltage deviation by coordinating type I and type II FDI attacks. From the attacker's perspective, the scheme of CFDI is proposed and an algorithm is developed to find the optimal attack strategy. The feasibility of CFDI attacks has been validated on a smart distribution testbed. Moreover, simulation results on an ADN benchmark have demonstrated that CFDI attacks could cause remarkable voltage deviation that may deteriorate the stability of the distribution network. Moreover, the impact of CFDI attacks is higher than pure type I or type II attacks. To mitigate the threat, some countermeasures against CFDI attacks are also proposed.

Background The causal relationship between childhood adiposity and adult risk of heart diseases has not been clearly demonstrated. This study aims to ascertain whether genetically predicted childhood body mass index (BMI) and childhood obesity are causally associated with adult coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and pulmonary heart disease. Methods and Results To investigate the causative relationships and underlying mechanisms between childhood adiposity and adult heart diseases, 3 main methods of Mendelian randomization were used: 2‐sample Mendelian randomization, multivariable Mendelian randomization with controlling for several cardiometabolic risk variables, and mediation analysis. Every 1‐SD rise in genetically predicted childhood body mass index was associated with 24% (odds ratio [OR], 1.24 [95% CI, 1.12–1.37]), 28% (OR, 1.28 [95% CI, 1.14–1.42]), 28% (OR, 1.28 [95% CI, 1.14–1.42]), and 27% (OR, 1.27 [95% CI, 1.04–1.49]) higher risk of coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation, respectively. Every 1‐unit increase in log‐odds in childhood obesity was associated with 11% (OR, 1.11 [95% CI, 1.06–1.16]), 14% (OR, 1.14 [95% CI, 1.04–1.23]), 10% (OR, 1.10 [95% CI, 1.03–1.18]), and 20% (OR, 1.20 [95% CI, 1.08–1.32]) higher risk of coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation, respectively. The link between childhood adiposity and adult heart diseases was found to be mediated by high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes. Conclusions Our findings support the causal relationships between childhood adiposity and risk of adult coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation. Blood lipids, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes are factors that mediate the aforementioned associations.

Abstract Objective Persons with congenital heart disease (CHD) are at increased risk of neurodevelopmental disabilities, including impairments to executive function. Sulcal pattern features correlate with executive function in adolescents with single‐ventricle heart disease and tetralogy of Fallot. However, the interaction of sulcal pattern features with genetic and participant factors in predicting executive dysfunction is unknown. Methods We studied sulcal pattern features, participant factors, and genetic risk for executive function impairment in a cohort with multiple CHD types using stepwise linear regression and machine learning. Results Genetic factors, including predicted damaging de novo or rare inherited variants in neurodevelopmental disabilities risk genes, apolipoprotein E genotype, and principal components of sulcal pattern features were associated with executive function measures after adjusting for age at testing, sex, mother's education, and biventricular versus single‐ventricle CHD in a linear regression model. Using regression trees and bootstrap validation, younger participant age and larger alterations in sulcal pattern features were consistently identified as important predictors of decreased cognitive flexibility with left hemisphere graph topology often selected as the most important predictor. Inclusion of both sulcal pattern and genetic factors improved model fit compared to either alone. Interpretation We conclude that sulcal measures remain important predictors of cognitive flexibility, and the model predicting executive outcomes is improved by inclusion of potential genetic sources of neurodevelopmental risk. If confirmed, measures of sulcal patterning may serve as early imaging biomarkers to identify those at heightened risk for future neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Abstract The absorption of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) in the Southern Ocean represents a critical component of the global oceanic carbon budget. Previous assessments of air‐sea carbon flux variations and long‐term trends in polar regions during winter have faced limitations due to scarce field data and the lack of ocean color satellite imagery, causing uncertainties in estimating CO2 flux estimation. This study utilized the Cloud‐Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observation satellite to construct a continuous 16‐year (2006–2021) time series of sea surface partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2) in the Southern Ocean. Our findings revealed that the polar region in South Ocean acts as a carbon sink in winter, with CO2 flux of ∼30 TgC in high‐latitude areas (South of 50°S). This work highlights the efficacy of active remote sensing for monitoring sea surface pCO2 and contributes insights into the dynamic carbonate systems of the Southern Ocean.

Abstract Suppressing nonradiative recombination and releasing residual strain are prerequisites to improving the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, long‐chain polyacrylic acid (PAA) is used to reinforce SnO2 film and passivate SnO2 defects, forming a structure similar to “reinforced concrete” with high tensile strength and fewer microcracks. Simultaneously, PAA is also introduced to the SnO2/perovskite interface as a “buffer spring” to release residual strain, which also acts as a “dual‐side passivation interlayer” to passivate the oxygen vacancies of SnO2 and Pb dangling bonds in halide perovskites. As a result, the best inorganic CsPbBr3 PSC achieves a champion power conversion efficiency of 10.83% with an ultrahigh open‐circuit voltage of 1.674 V. The unencapsulated PSC shows excellent stability under 80% relative humidity and 80°C over 120 days.

Abstract Background and objective Persistent headache attributed to ischemic stroke (PHPIS) is increasingly acknowledged and was added to the 2018 ICHD‐3. Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) is a common treatment for acute ischemic stroke. It remains unknown whether this treatment influences the occurrence of a persistent poststroke headache. We aimed to describe the incidence and clinical characteristics of persistent headaches occurring after acute ischemic stroke in patients with or without IVT and explore the risk factors. Methods A prospective observational study was performed between the 234 individuals who received IVT and 226 individuals without IVT in 5 stroke units from Wuhan, China. Subjects were followed for 6 months after stroke via a structured questionnaire. Results Age, gender, vascular risk factors, and infarct location/ circulation distribution did not differ between the groups, although IVT group had higher initial NIHSS scores. At the end of the follow‐up, 12.0% (55/460) of subjects reported persistent headaches after ischemic stroke. The prevalence of persistent headache was significantly higher in the IVT group than non‐IVT group (15.4% vs. 8.4%, p = .021). Patients with younger age (p = .033; OR 0.97; 95% CI 0.939–0.997), female sex (p = .007; OR 2.40; 95% CI 1.269–4.520), posterior circulation infarct (p = .024; OR 2.19; 95% CI 1.110–4.311), and IVT (p = .005; OR 2.51; 95% CI 1.313–4.782) were more likely to develop persistent headache after ischemic stroke. Conclusion The potential influence of IVT should be considered when assessing persistent poststroke headache. Future studies will investigate the underlying mechanisms.

In this study, an innovative exploration of leveraging bionics and continuum robotics principles to develop a novel solution for arthroscopic surgery is embarked on. Inspired by the flexibility and adaptability of organisms like snakes and octopuses, the continuum robot concept aims to address the inherent challenges in traditional arthroscopy, including lower precision, manual tremors, and long surgeon learning curves. The implementation of these principles in the human body, however, faces significant obstacles, particularly achieving high‐performance motion control amid strong nonlinearity and coupling between modules. This research focuses on intelligent integration and enhanced safety in human‐machine interaction, aiming for improved control precision and flexibility in arthroscopic procedures. A thorough literature review of endoscopic continuum robots is conducted, highlighting current advancements in actuation, structure, sensing, and control technologies. The study concludes with an assessment of these technologies, their limitations, and future potential, in light of the unique demands of arthroscopic continuum robots. This comprehensive review bridges bionics and robotics, presenting the opportunities and challenges in applying continuum robotics to arthroscopic surgery. The goal is to encourage further research in this area, contributing to the development of prototype robots that enhance the precision and safety of arthroscopic surgery.

Abstract The discovery of the endothelium as a major regulator of vascular tone triggered intense research among basic and clinical investigators to unravel the physiologic and pathophysiologic significance of this phenomenon. Sphingosine‐l‐phosphate (S1P), derived from the vascular endothelium, is a significant regulator of blood pressure. However, the mechanisms underlying the regulation of S1P biosynthetic pathways in arteries remain to be further clarified. Here, we reported that Reticulon 3 (RTN3) regulated endothelial sphingolipid biosynthesis and blood pressure. We employed public datasets, patients, and mouse models to explore the pathophysiological roles of RTN3 in blood pressure control. The underlying mechanisms were studied in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). We reported that increased RTN3 was found in patients and that RTN3‐null mice presented hypotension. In HUVECs, RTN3 can regulate migration and tube formation via the S1P signaling pathway. Mechanistically, RTN3 can interact with CERS2 to promote the selective autophagy of CERS2 and further influence S1P signals to control blood pressure. We also identified an RTN3 variant (c.116C>T, p.T39M) in a family with hypertension. Our data provided the first evidence of the association between RTN3 level changes and blood pressure anomalies and preliminarily elucidated the importance of RTN3 in S1P metabolism and blood pressure regulation.

Abstract Objectives Lymphatic metastasis, an early stage of the metastasis process, is associated with adverse clinical outcomes in urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB). However, the role of inflammation in triggering lymphatic metastasis remains unclear. Methods We employed an RNA‐sequencing cohort (n = 50) from Sun Yat‐Sen Memorial Hospital (SYMH) to identify the most highly upregulated inflammatory gene associated with lymphatic metastasis. Using immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence analyses, we validated the association of the identified molecule with clinical features and prognosis in an independent UCB cohort (n = 244) from SYMH. We also analysed TCGA‐BLCA cohort (n = 408) to identify its potential biological pathways and immune landscape. Background It remains unclear whether neuroimaging markers of cerebral small‐vessel disease (CSVD) affect the outcomes of patients with acute ischemic stroke receiving endovascular treatment (EVT). The aim of this systematic review and meta‐analysis was to evaluate the association between CSVD neuroimaging markers and outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing EVT. Methods We conducted a systematic search of PubMed and EMBASE databases up to July 2022 using keywords or Medical Subject Heading terms (“cerebral small‐vessel diseases,” “leukoaraiosis,” “microbleed,” “enlarged perivascular space,” “recent small subcortical infarct,” “atrophy,” “lacune,” and “thrombectomy”). The assessed clinical outcomes were a good functional outcome, 90‐day mortality, symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage, and early neurologic improvement after EVT. Results Overall, 30 studies on patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing EVT were included. Abstract This study analyzes microphysical signatures relevant to the short‐cycle lightning activity in the inner core of Typhoon Hato (2017) before landfall in China. Observations reveal that the lightning bursts were accompanied by enhanced inner‐core convection with a behavior cycle of about 3 hr. The coupling between wavenumber‐2 vortex Rossby waves (VRWs) and shear‐forced convective asymmetries resulted in a local updraft enhancement. Furthermore, supercooled liquid water droplets invigorated a striking enhancement of graupel via riming immediately above the freezing level, further enhancing charge separation and lightning generation outside the eyewall. Furthermore, when similar phase‐locking was associated with other propagating VRWs, graupel and updraft volumes were significantly boosted, leading to short‐cycle lightning outbreaks in the inner core.

Abstract Although perovskite nanocrystals have attracted considerable interests as emerging semiconductors in optoelectronic devices, design and fabrication of a deformable structure with high stability and flexibility while meeting the charge transport requirements remain a huge challenge. Herein, a combined soft‐hard strategy is demonstrated to fabricate intrinsically flexible all‐inorganic perovskite layers for photodetection via ligand cross‐linking. Perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane (FDTS) is employed as the capping ligand and passivating agent bound to the CsPbBr3 surface via Pb‐F and Br‐F interactions. The SiCl head groups of FDTS are hydrolyzed to produce SiOH groups which subsequently condense to form the SiOSi network. The CsPbBr3@FDTS nanocrystals (NCs) are monodispersed cubes with an average particle size of 13.03 nm and exhibit excellent optical stability. Furthermore, the residual hydroxyl groups on the surface of the CsPbBr3@FDTS render the NCs tightly packed and cross‐linked to each other to form a dense and elastic CsPbBr3@FDTS film with soft and hard components. The photodetector based on the flexible CsPbBr3@FDTS film exhibits outstanding mechanical flexibility and robust stability after 5000 bending cycles.

Abstract Objectives Endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal adenomectomy (TSA) is the most frequently performed skull base surgery, and researchers have recently focused on preserving nasal function. The endoscopic transseptal approach is a promising procedure due to its reduced injury to the nasal mucosa; however, there are no studies comparing rhinological and neurosurgical outcomes concurrently with the standard endoscopic transnasal approach. Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate whether the transseptal approach could reduce nasal morbidities with comparable neurosurgical outcomes. Methods We retrospectively reviewed 25 patients who underwent endoscopic endonasal transseptal TSA for pituitary adenoma without encasement of internal carotid artery from January 2019 to December 2020. Another 25 patients who received transnasal approach from January 2017 to December 2018 were selected as controls. Patients with diseases affecting the nasal cavity/olfaction or usage of a nasoseptal flap were excluded for a better comparison of the two procedures. We collected data from radiological studies, endocrine studies, endoscopic evaluations, 22‐item sinonasal outcome tests (SNOT‐22) and Top International Biotech Smell Identification Test (TIBSIT) for comparison. Results Lower postoperative SNOT‐22 and Lund‐Kennedy endoscopic scores were observed in the transseptal group. The effect size of differences were classified as large effect (The absolute value of Cohen's d > 0.8). Nevertheless, the TIBSIT scores were not significantly different. The rates of gross total resection, recovery of hormonal abnormalities, and complications were not significantly different. After controlling possible confounding factors using multivariate analysis, the endoscopic transseptal approach remained an independent factor for lower SNOT‐22 scores and Lund‐Kennedy endoscopic scores. Conclusions The endoscopic transseptal approach provides improved recovery of nasal mucosa and intact olfaction without compromising neurosurgical outcomes. Level of Evidence 2b.

Abstract High nickel content layered cathodes, represented by NCM (LiNixCoyMnzO2, x + y + z = 1), are now widely employed in the market of electric vehicles, owing to their high energy density. With the gradual increase of nickel content and capacity, the issues on cycling life and safety become more serious. In this review, various strategies for improving the performance of high nickel NCM are summarized on the aspects of surface coating, ionic doping, and single‐crystal NCM. The coating strategy was separately described according to the physical property of coating species, including inert material coating, Li+‐conductor coating, electronic conductor coating, and mixed conductor coating. These coating species help to suppress the interfacial oxidation of electrolytes by NCM, improving the cycling life and safety. The elemental doping in the crystal lattice of NCM is then presented in the aspects of cation, anion, and mixed‐ion doping, which are beneficial to stabilize the layered structure during charge–discharge and so promote the electrochemical performance. In quite recent years, the strategy of single‐crystal NCM was demonstrated to be a promising pathway, owing to the dramatically reduced surface area and grain boundary. Finally, the remaining unsolved challenges and future strategies for further development of NCM cathode materials are outlined.

Abstract Developing a green and energy‐saving alternative to the traditional Haber‐Bosch process for converting nitrogen into ammonia is urgently needed. Imitating from biological nitrogen fixation and photosynthesis processes, this work develops a monolithic artificial leaf based on triple junction (3J) InGaP/GaAs/Ge cell for solar‐driven ammonia conversion under ambient conditions. A gold layer serves as the catalytic site for nitrogen fixation with photogenerated electrons. The Au/Ti/3J InGaP/GaAs/Ge photoelectrochemical (PEC) device achieves high ammonia production rates and Faradaic efficiencies in a two‐electrode system without applying external potential. For example, at 0.2 sunlight intensity, the solar‐to‐ammonia (STA) conversion efficiency reaches 1.11% and the corresponding Faradaic efficiency is up to 28.9%. By integrating a Ni foil on the anode side for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), the monolithic artificial leaf exhibits an ammonia production rate of 8.5 µg cm−2 h at 1.5 sunlight intensity. Additionally, a 3 × 3 cm unassisted wireless PEC device is fabricated that produces 1.0039 mg of ammonia in the 36‐h durability test. Thus, the new artificial leaf can successfully and directly convert solar energy into chemical energy and generate useful products in an environmentally friendly approach.

Abstract Reticulon 3 (RTN3), an endoplasmic reticulum protein, is crucial in neurodegenerative and kidney diseases. However, the role of RTN3 in liver tissues has not been described. Here, we employed public datasets, patients, and several animal models to explore the role of RTN3 in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The underlying mechanisms were studied in primary hepatocytes and L02 cells in vitro. We found an increased expression of RTN3 in NAFLD patients, high‐fat diet mice, and oxidized low‐density lipoprotein‐treated L02 cells. The RTN3 transgenic mice exhibited the phenotypes of fatty liver and lipid accumulation. Single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis indicated that increased RTN3 might induce mitochondrial dysfunction. We further showed this in primary hepatocytes, the L02 cell line, and the Caenorhabditis elegans strain. Mechanistically, RTN3 regulated these events through its interactions with glucose‐regulated protein 78 (GRP78), which further inhibited the adenosine 5 monophosphate‐activated protein kinase (AMPK)–isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2) pathway. In the end, knockout of RTN3 relieved fatty liver and mitochondrial dysfunction. Our study indicated that RTN3 was important in NAFLD and lipid catabolism and that an increase in RTN3 in the liver might be a risk factor for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and NAFLD.

Abstract Background Due to their inherent role in cell function, long non‐coding ribonucleic acids (lncRNAs) mediate changes in the microenvironment, and thereby participate in the development of cellular senescence. Aims This study aimed to identify cellular senescence‐related lncRNAs that could predict the prognosis of liver cancer. Methods and Results Gene expression and clinical data were downloaded from the UCSC Xena platform, ICGC, and TCGA databases. Cox regression and LASSO regression were used to establish a cellular senescence‐related lncRNA model. ROC curves and Kaplan–Meier survival curves were then constructed to predict patient prognosis. Cox regression analysis and clinical characteristics were used to evaluate the capability of the model. Tumor mutational burden and tumor‐infiltrating immune cell analyses were subsequently performed in the risk subgroups and the samples in the entire cohort were reclustered. Finally, potential small molecule immune‐targeted drugs were identified based on the model. The cellular senescence‐related prognostic model that was constructed based on AGAP11 and FAM182B. Along with the results of Cox regression and Lasso regression, the risk score was found to be an independent factor for predicting overall survival in cohorts. In the subgroup analysis, the prognosis of the low‐risk group in each cohort was significantly higher than that of the high‐risk group; the area under temporal ROC curves and clinical ROC curves were all greater than 0.65, respectively. C‐index shows that the risk scores are greater than 0.6, showing the stability of the model. The high‐risk group demonstrated lower tumor microenvironment and higher tumor mutational burden scores, further verifying the reliability of the model grouping results. Analysis of tumor‐infiltrating immune cells indicated that CD8+ and γδ T cells were more abundant among patients in the low‐risk group; cluster reorganization indicated that the two groups had different prognoses and proportions of immune cells. The p value of potential drugs predicted based on the expression of model lncRNAs were all less than .05, demonstrating the potential of model lncRNAs as therapeutic targets to some extent. Conclusion A prognostic model based on cellular senescence‐associated lncRNAs was established and this may be used as a potential biomarker for the prognosis assessment of liver cancer patients.

Abstract Background Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K (hnRNPK) is a nucleic acid‐binding protein. Reportedly, hnRNPK is overexpressed in many human tumors, and such overexpression is associated with poor prognosis, implicating the role of hnRNPK as an oncogene during tumorigenesis. In this study, hnRNPK expression in lung cancer tissues was investigated. Methods Briefly, hnRNPK was knocked down in lung cancer cell lines, and effects of knockdown on the cell proliferation, migration, and cell cycle were assessed using a cell counting kit‐8 (CCK‐8) assay, colony formation assay, transwell assay and flow cytometry. The effects of hnRNPK knockdown on the p53‐dependent signaling pathway were examined using western blotting. Finally, the effect of hnRNPK knockdown on tumor growth was verified in vivo using a lung cancer xenograft mouse model. Results hnRNPK knockdown inhibited the cell proliferation, migration and cell cycle. In addition to phenotypic changes, hnRNPK knockdown upregulated expressions of pCHK1, pCHK2, and p53，p21，cyclin D1, thereby mediating the DNA damage response (DDR). The regulatory function of hnRNPK during p53/p21/cyclin D1 signaling in hnRNPK‐knockdown A549 cells was confirmed by suppressed the protein expression of associated signaling pathways, which inhibited DDR. Conclusion hnRNPK plays a crucial role in the progression of lung cancer, ultimately affecting survival rate. Inhibition of progression of lung cancer cells induced by hnRNPK‐knockdown is dependent on activation of p53 by the p53/p21/cyclin D1 pathway.

Abstract Aims This study aimed to develop and validate a competing risk nomogram for predicting all‐cause mortality and heart transplantation (HT) before first appropriate shock in non‐ischaemic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) patients receiving implantable cardioverter‐defibrillators (ICD). Methods and results A total of 218 consecutive DCM patients implanted with ICD between 2010 and 2019 at our institution were retrospectively enrolled. Cox proportional hazards model was primarily built to identify variables associated with death and HT. Then, a Fine–Gray model, accounting for the appropriate shock as a competing risk, was constructed using these selected variables along with implantation indication (primary vs. secondary). Finally, a nomogram based on the Fine–Gray model was established to predict 1‐, 3‐, and 5‐year probabilities of all‐cause mortality and HT before first appropriate shock. The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC), Harrell's C‐index, and calibration curves were used to evaluate and internally validate the performance of this model. The decision curve analysis was applied to assess its clinical utility. The 1‐, 3‐, and 5‐year cumulative incidence of all‐cause mortality and HT without former appropriate shock were 5.3% [95% confidence interval (CI) 2.9–9.9%], 16.6% (95% CI 11–25.0%), and 25.3% (95% CI 17.2–37.1%), respectively. Five variables including implantation indication, left ventricular end‐diastolic diameter, N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide, angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitor/angiotensin receptor blocker, and amiodarone treatment were independently associated with it (all P

Abstract Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a promising alternative toward catalysis, due to the unique framework structure and the excellent chemical stability. However, the scarcity of unsaturated metal sites and the low conductivity have constrained the advancement of these materials for catalysis of electrochemical reactions. Exploring next‐generation conductive metal–covalent organic frameworks (M‐COFs) with extra metal active sites is crucial for improving their catalytic activity. Herein, a novel fully‐conjugated M‐COFs (Co‐PorBpy‐Co) with two types of metal sites is proposed and achieved by solvothermal method in the presence of carbon nanotube (CNT). The electrocatalyst constructed by the Co‐PorBpy‐Co exhibits excellent oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity (E1/2 = 0.84 V vs RHE, n = 3.86), superior to most COFs‐based catalysts. Theoretical result shows the CoN2 sites are extremely active for ORR, and Co‐PorBpy‐Co exhibits excellent conductivity for electron transfer. The Zn–air battery constructed by Co‐PorBpy‐Co/CNT manifests excellent power density (159.4 mW cm−2) and great cycling stability, surpassing that of 20 wt% Pt/C catalyst. This work not only proposes a novel design concept for electrocatalysts, but establishes a mechanism platform for single‐metal atom electrocatalysis and synergistic effect.

Abstract In this paper, an H‐type electric/hybrid electric aircraft propulsion architecture is proposed to address the issues associated with the radial electric propulsion architecture. In a radial architecture, a fault on the main bus or failure of the generator leads to shut down of all the propulsion motors in that channel, thus increasing the burden on the remaining motors to maintain the power required by the aeroplane. As a result, it is necessary to oversize the motors for the purpose of compensating for the loss of other motors. To mitigate these issues, a new H‐type architecture is introduced to isolate the particular faulty section while still maintaining power flow to the remaining healthy motors. The proposed architecture minimises the oversizing of various components in the system as compared to radial propulsion architecture. The sizing of components and the amount of overall mass reduction is discussed by using the proposed architecture. Typhoon Hardware in the Loop platform is used to validate the performance of both the architectures for faults at different locations, and the results are presented.

Abstract Objective The elevated expression of interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) in patients with interstitial cystitis/bladder painful syndrome (IC/BPS) has been demonstrated, but the role of IL‐6 in IC/BPS and its source remain to be explored. Methods IC/BPS rat model was created in female rats by using long‐term intermittent intravesical hyaluronidase (0.5 ml, 4 mg/ml). After modeling, IL‐6 stimulation group, and anti‐IL‐6R group were treated with recombinant rat IL‐6 and tocilizumab, respectively. Symptomatic changes were detected by Vonfrey pain score and urodynamics, and hematoxylin‐eosin (HE) staining, mast cell staining and Masson staining were used to evaluate the changes of inflammation in the bladder tissue of rats. Cell sources of IL‐6 was explored through enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT‐PCR), and western‐blot test on the supernatant of coculturing rat bladder epithelial cells and rat macrophages. Abstract A power system is a complex cyber‐physical system whose security is critical to its function. A major challenge is to model, analyse and visualise the communication backbone of the power systems concerning cyber threats. To achieve this, the design and evaluation of a cyber‐physical power system (CPPS) testbed called Resilient Energy Systems Lab (RESLab) are presented to capture realistic cyber, physical, and protection system features. RESLab is architected to be a fundamental platform for studying and improving the resilience of complex CPPS to cyber threats. The cyber network is emulated using Common Open Research Emulator (CORE), which acts as a gateway for the physical and protection devices to communicate. The physical grid is simulated in the dynamic time frame using Power World Dynamic Studio (PWDS). The protection components are modelled with both PWDS and physical devices including the SEL Real‐Time Automation Controller (RTAC). Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3) is used to monitor and control the grid. Then, the design is exemplified and the tools are validated. This work presents four case studies on cyberattack and defence using RESLab, where we demonstrate false data and command injection using Man‐in‐the‐Middle and Denial of Service attacks and validate them on a large‐scale synthetic electric grid.

Abstract An inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) of the respiratory system is an uncommon disease. In Taiwan, there is a lack of previous studies on tracheobronchial IMT. The tumor is characterized by overexpression of anaplastic lymphoma receptor tyrosine kinase (ALK)‐1. Surgical resection is the standard treatment of choice nowadays.

Abstract The Dual‐Excited Synchronous Generator (DESG) has two sets of field windings. The magnitudes and directions of the two field currents can be regulated, so that the excitation magneto‐motive force can be in any direction. The electromagnetic characteristics of the DESG may be different with those of the Traditional Synchronous Generator (TSG) for the different rotor structures of the two generators. To obtain better electromagnetic characteristics, a time‐stepping finite element model (T‐S FEM) of the DESG is established. The air‐gap radial flux density, saturation, active and reactive power of the DESG in single‐ and dual‐axis excitation modes are calculated and compared with those of the TSG. The electromagnetic characteristics affected by the different ratio of q‐axis field current to d‐axis field current are studied. On this basis, an excitation control strategy that can enhance the steady‐state stability is proposed, and the steady‐state stability limits with and without excitation control are calculated by the T‐S FEM. A 10‐kW DESG is developed to verify the correctness of the simulation results. The results show that the DESG with dual‐axis excitation has better electromagnetic characteristics and stronger reactive power ability, and the steady‐state stability limit of the DESG is increased obviously through the excitation control.

Abstract Surface post‐treatment using ammonium halides effectively reduces large open‐circuit voltage (VOC) losses in bromine‐rich wide‐bandgap (WBG) perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the underlying mechanism still remains unclear and the device efficiency lags largely behind. Here, a facile strategy of precisely tailoring the phase purity of 2D perovskites on top of 3D WBG perovskite and realizing high device efficiency is reported. The transient absorption spectra, cross‐sectional confocal photoluminescence mapping, and cross‐sectional Kelvin probe force microscopy are combined to demonstrate optimal defect passivation effect and surface electric‐field of pure n = 1 2D perovskites formed atop 3D WBG perovskites via low‐temperature annealing. As a result, the inverted champion device with 1.77‐eV perovskite absorber achieves a high VOC of 1.284 V and a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 17.72%, delivering the smallest VOC deficit of 0.486 V among WBG PSCs with a bandgap higher than 1.75 eV. This enables one to achieve a four‐terminal all‐perovskite tandem solar cell with a PCE exceeding 25% by combining with a 1.25‐eV low‐bandgap PSC.

Abstract Background Hepatic metastasis is the primary and direct cause of death in individuals with colorectal cancer (CRC) attribute to lack of effective therapeutic targets. The present study aimed to identify potential druggable candidate targets for patients with liver metastatic CRC. Methods The transcriptional profiles of super‐enhancers (SEs) in primary and liver metastatic CRC were evaluated in publicly accessible CRC datasets. Immunohistochemistry of human CRC tissues was conducted to determine the expression level of CDK12. Cellular proliferation, survival and stemness were examined upon CDK12 inhibition by shCDK12 or a selective CDK12 inhibitor named SR‐4835 with multiple in vitro and in vivo assays. RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analyses were carried out to investigate the mechanisms of CDK12 inhibition in CRC cells. Results We identified CDK12 as a driver gene for direct hepatic metastasis in CRC. Suppression of CDK12 led to robust inhibition of proliferation, survival and stemness. Mechanistically, CDK12 intervention preferentially repressed the transcription of SE‐associated genes. Integration of the SE landscape and RNA sequencing, BCL2L1 and CCDC137 were identified as SE‐associated oncogenic genes to strengthen the abilities of cellular survival, proliferation and stemness, eventually increasing liver metastasis of CRC. Conclusions Our data highlight the potential of CDK12 and SE‐associated oncogenic transcripts as therapeutic targets for patients with liver metastatic CRC.

Abstract Man‐in‐The‐Middle (MiTM) attacks present numerous threats to a smart grid. In a MiTM attack, an intruder embeds itself within a conversation between two devices to either eavesdrop or impersonate one of the devices, making it appear to be a normal exchange of information. Thus, the intruder can perform false data injection (FDI) and false command injection (FCI) attacks that can compromise power system operations, such as state estimation, economic dispatch, and automatic generation control (AGC). Very few researchers have focused on MiTM methods that are difficult to detect within a smart grid. To address this, we are designing and implementing multi‐stage MiTM intrusions in an emulation‐based cyber‐physical power system testbed against a large‐scale synthetic grid model to demonstrate how such attacks can cause physical contingencies such as misguided operation and false measurements. MiTM intrusions create FCI, FDI, and replay attacks in this synthetic power grid. This work enables stakeholders to defend against these stealthy attacks, and we present detection mechanisms that are developed using multiple alerts from intrusion detection systems and network monitoring tools. Our contribution will enable other smart grid security researchers and industry to develop further detection mechanisms for inconspicuous MiTM attacks.

Abstract X chromosome change has been proved to be associated with carcinogenesis and related to gender differences in cancer risk. If aberrant methylation of genes encoded by X chromosome involve in the risk and prognosis of cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC), remain unclear. We conducted a case–control study consisted of 432 CRC cases and 434 controls, detecting the methylation levels of FAM156B, PIH1D3, and PPP1R3F in the X chromosome in blood leukocytes using methylation‐sensitive high‐resolution melting (MS‐HRM). We analyzed the relationship between the methylation levels and CRC susceptibility and then explored the interactions with environmental factors on CRC risk with logistics regression. Moreover, we conducted a follow‐up study containing 225 CRC patients to explore the associations between the methylation of FAM156B, PPP1R3F, and PIH1D3 and CRC prognosis. The hypermethylation of FAM156B, PPP1R3F, and PIH1D3 was related to increased CRC risk (ORPS‐adj = 2.932, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.029–4.237; ORPS‐adj = 1.602, 95% CI: 1.078–2.382; ORPS‐adj = 1.628, 95% CI: 1.065–2.490, respectively). In the multiple CpG site methylation (MCSM) analysis, compared with non‐MCSM, a significant relationship between MCSM and increased CRC risk was found (ORPS‐adj = 2.202, 95% CI: 1.512–3.208). We observed synergistic interaction between PPP1R3F hypermethylation and fried food consumption on CRC risk (ORi = 2.682, 95% CI: 1.321–5.446). However, there were no associations between the methylation of FAM156B, PPP1R3F, and PIH1D3 and CRC prognosis (p > 0.05). In conclusion, the methylation of FAM156B, PPP1R3F, and PIH1D3 genes in blood leukocytes is significantly related to CRC risk and may be potential biomarkers for CRC risk but not prognosis.

Abstract Inspired by the striated structure of skeletal muscle fibers, a polymeric actuator by assembling two symmetric triblock copolymers, namely, polystyrene‐b‐poly(acrylic acid)‐b‐polystyrene (SAS) and polystyrene‐b‐poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐polystyrene (SES) is developed. Owing to the microphase separation of the triblock copolymers and hydrogen‐bonding complexation of their middle segments, the SAS/SES assembly forms a lamellar structure with alternating vitrified S and hydrogen‐bonded A/E association layers. The SAS/SES strip can be actuated and operate in response to environmental pH. The contraction ratio and working density of the SAS/SES actuator are approximately 50% and 90 kJ m−3, respectively; these values are higher than those of skeletal muscle fibers. In addition, the SAS/SES actuator shows a “catch‐state”, that is, it can maintain force without energy consumption, which is a feature of mollusc muscle but not skeletal muscle. This study provides a biomimetic approach for the development of artificial polymeric actuators with outstanding performance.

Abstract Aims Cardiac implanted electronic devices (CIEDs) can detect atrial high‐rate episodes (AHREs) and challenge current management of subclinical atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods To characterize the anatomic and functional remodeling of cardiac structures between patients with subclinical AF (SCAF) and clinical AF. The predictors for AHREs ≥6 min were also investigated. Results We compared the atrial volume, dynamic function, and peri‐atrial fat between 104 CIEDs (AHREs = 0, n = 12; SCAF, n = 66; CIEDs with AF, n = 26) and 40 paroxysmal AF patients who were planning for catheter ablation (AF for ablation) using 256‐slice multidetector computed tomography for the duration of the AHREs. Abstract Novel Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) has spread rapidly around the world. Individuals with immune dysregulation and/or on immunosuppressive therapy, such as rheumatic patients, are considered at greater risk for infections. However, the risks of patients with each subcategory of rheumatic diseases have not been reported. Here, we identified 100 rheumatic patients from 18,786 COVID‐19 patients hospitalized in 23 centers affiliated to Hubei COVID‐19 Rheumatology Alliance between January 1 and April 1, 2020. Demographic information, medical history, length of hospital stay, classification of disease severity, symptoms and signs, laboratory tests, disease outcome, computed tomography, and treatments information were collected. Compared to gout and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients, patients with connective tissue disease (CTD) tend to be more severe after COVID‐19 infection (p = 0.081). Abstract Background Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women with malignant tumors worldwide. Bone metastasis is the main factor affecting the prognosis of breast cancer. Therefore, both antitumor and anti‐breast‐cancer‐induced osteolysis agents are urgently needed. Methods We examined the effect of Asperolide A (AA), a marine‐derived agent, on osteolysis and RANKL‐induced phosphoinositide 3‐kinase (PI3K)/AKT/mTOR/c‐FOS/nuclear factor‐activated T cell 1 (NFATc1) pathway activation, F‐actin ring formation, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in vitro. We evaluated AA effect on breast cancer MDA‐MB‐231 and MDA‐MB‐436 cells in vitro through CCK8 assay, wound healing assay, transwell assay, Annexin V‐FITC/PI staining for cell apoptosis, and cell cycle assay. Furthermore, we assessed the effect of AA in vivo using a breast cancer‐induced bone osteolysis nude mouse model, followed by micro‐computed tomography, tartrate‐resistant acid phosphatase staining, and hematoxylin and eosin staining. Results Asperolide A inhibited osteoclast formation and differentiation, bone resorption, F‐actin belt formation, ROS activity, and osteoclast‐specific gene and protein expressions and prevented PI3K/AKT/mTOR/c‐FOS/NFATc1 signaling activation in a dose‐dependent manner in vitro. AA also inhibited breast cancer growth and breast cancer‐induced bone osteolysis by reducing osteoclast formation and function and inactivated PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling in vivo. Conclusions Our study demonstrated that AA suppressed bone metastatic breast cancer. These findings indicate AA as a potential, novel curative drug candidate for patients with bone metastatic breast cancer.

Abstract Direct ethanol fuel cells are among the most efficient and environmentally friendly energy‐conversion devices and have been widely focused. The ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) is a multielectron process with slow kinetics. The large amount of by‐product generated by incomplete oxidation greatly reduces the efficiency of energy conversion through the EOR. In this study, a novel type of trimetallene called porous PdWM (M = Nb, Mo and Ta) is synthesized by a facile method. The mass activity (15.6 A mgPd−1) and C1 selectivity (55.5%) of Pd50W27Nb23/C trimetallene, obtained after optimizing the compositions and proportions of porous PdWM, outperform those of commercial Pt/C (1.3 A mgPt−1, 5.9%), Pd/C (5.0 A mgPd−1, 7.2%), and Pd97W3/C bimetallene (9.5 A mgPd−1, 14.1%). The mechanism by which Pd50W27Nb23/C enhances the EOR performance is evaluated by in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations. It is found that W and Nb enhance the adsorption of CH3CH2OH and oxophilic high‐valence Nb accelerates the subsequent oxidation of CO and CHx species. Moreover, Nb promotes the cleavage of CC bonds and increases the C1 selectivity. Pd60W28Mo12/C and Pd64W27Ta9/C trimetallene synthesized by the same method also exhibit excellent EOR performance.

The EV (electric vehicle) with a wheel hub motor has the advantage of independent driving torque distribution for each wheel, which allows the vehicle performance to be improved. Therefore, a lot of work has been done to investigate the torque allocation algorithm for the mechanical and differential torque integration steering system. To investigate the differential steering process, the 2 DOF (degree of freedom) dual-track reference models with linear and nonlinear tire models are established, and based on the steering process analysis and yaw rate gain calculation, a BP-NN (backpropagation neural network) model is initiated to maintain the accuracy of the calculated yaw rate gain. The limitation of DTSS (differential torque steering system) and the difference of reference models with linear and nonlinear tires are drawn. In addition, an anti-windup variable PID (proportion integration differentiation) controller is designed for the torque distribution. Based on the built 8 DOF model, the vehicle performance indicators are calculated and compared, the gap between the models with linear and nonlinear tires is non-negligible, and a reference model with a nonlinear tire model is recommended for the relevant research. The anti-windup variable PID controller has a better performance than the normal PID controller except for the stability phase plane indicator.

Dental mesenchymal stem cells (DMSCs) are crucial in tooth development and periodontal health, and their multipotential differentiation and self-renewal ability play a critical role in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Methylation modifications could promote the appropriate biological behavior by postsynthetic modification of DNA or protein and make the organism adapt to developmental and environmental prompts by regulating gene expression without changing the DNA sequence. Methylation modifications involved in DMSC fate include DNA methylation, RNA methylation, and histone modifications, which have been proven to exert a significant effect on the regulation of the fate of DMSCs, such as proliferation, self-renewal, and differentiation potential. Understanding the regulation of methylation modifications on the behavior and the immunoinflammatory responses involved in DMSCs contributes to further study of the mechanism of methylation on tissue regeneration and inflammation. In this review, we briefly summarize the key functions of histone methylation, RNA methylation, and DNA methylation in the differentiation potential and self-renewal of DMSCs as well as the opportunities and challenges for their application in tissue regeneration and disease therapy.

Abstract The quality of Congou black tea fluctuates greatly with the changing seasons. However, variations in the taste quality of Congou black tea manufactured during a single spring season are far from clear. Here, we analyzed the taste quality of HuangJinCha (HJC) Congou black tea using sensory evaluation and found the taste quality of black tea manufactured in the early spring was better than that manufactured in the late spring. Principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis for the data from the electronic tongue confirmed the variation and revealed that April 4 may be the critical time point at which variations in taste quality become apparent. Background Approximately 3%–5% of lung adenocarcinoma is driven by anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusion oncogene, whose activity can be suppressed by multiple ALK inhibitors. Crizotinib and ceritinib have demonstrated superior efficacy to platinum‐based chemotherapy as front‐line treatment for patients with ALK‐positive advanced non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the direct comparison between them in the front‐line setting remains lacking. Methods A total of 48 patients with ALK‐positive, previously untreated advanced NSCLC, who received crizotinib and ceritinib as front‐line treatment were retrospectively investigated. The efficacy and pattern of disease progression were analyzed. Results Patients receiving ceritinib treatment were significantly younger than those receiving crizotinib treatment (52.0 vs. 63.0, P = 0.016). The median progression‐free survival (PFS) was significantly longer with ceritinib than with crizotinib treatment (32.3 vs. 12.9 months; log‐rank P = 0.020); the hazard ratio for disease progression or death, 0.27 (95% CI, 0.08–0.90; P = 0.033). An objective response was noted in all patients in the ceritinib group and in 23 patients in the crizotinib group (74.2%; 95% CI, 59.0 to 88.5). The rate of systemic progression was significantly lower over time with ceritinib treatment compared to crizotinib treatment (cause‐specific hazard ratio, 0.21; 95% CI 0.06–0.73; P = 0.014). Serious adverse events were noted in one (2.9%) patient showing elevated liver function in the crizotinib group and three (23.1%) patients showing diarrhea in the ceritinib group. Dose reduction was needed in five out of 13 (38.5%) patients receiving ceritinib treatment. Conclusion Ceritinib showed higher efficacy associated with a better control of systemic progression compared to crizotinib for the front‐line treatment of ALK‐positive advanced NSCLCs.

Abstract Background High-grade glioma (HGG) is a fatal human cancer. Bortezomib, a proteasome inhibitor, has been approved for the treatment of multiple myeloma but its use in glioma awaits further investigation. This study aimed to explore the chemotherapeutic effect and the underlying mechanism of bortezomib on gliomas. Methods U251 and U87 cell viability and proliferation were detected by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, tumor cell spheroid growth, and colony formation assay. Cell apoptosis and cell cycle were detected by flow cytometry. Temozolomide (TMZ)-insensitive cell lines were induced by long-term TMZ treatment, and cells with stem cell characteristics were enriched with stem cell culture medium. The mRNA levels of interested genes were measured via reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and protein levels were determined via Western blotting/immunofluorescent staining in cell lines and immunohistochemical staining in paraffin-embedded sections. Via inoculating U87 cells subcutaneously, glioma xenograft models in nude mice were established for drug experiments. Patient survival data were analyzed using the Kaplan–Meier method. Results Bortezomib inhibited the viability and proliferation of U251 and U87 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Bortezomib also significantly inhibited the spheroid growth, colony formation, and stem-like cell proliferation of U251 and U87 cells. When administrated in combination, bortezomib showed synergistic effect with TMZ in vitro and sensitized glioma to TMZ treatment both in vitro and in vivo. Bortezomib reduced both the mRNA and protein levels of Forkhead Box M1 (FOXM1) and its target gene Survivin. The FOXM1–Survivin axis was markedly up-regulated in established TMZ-insensitive glioma cell lines and HGG patients. Expression levels of FOXM1 and Survivin were positively correlated with each other and both related to poor prognosis in glioma patients. Conclusions Bortezomib was found to inhibit glioma growth and improved TMZ chemotherapy efficacy, probably via down-regulating the FOXM1–Survivin axis. Bortezomib might be a promising agent for treating malignant glioma, alone or in combination with TMZ.

Abstract Objective The significance of gene methylation in peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs) for assessing cancer prognosis is poorly understood. Our purpose is to assess the association between PBX3 methylation in PBLs and colorectal cancer (CRC) prognosis. Methods A total of 369 CRC patients were followed up for up to 10 years in this cohort study. PBL PBX3 methylation levels were determined by methylation‐sensitive high‐resolution melting. Cox regression models and Log‐rank tests were used to analyze the associations between PBX3 methylation status and CRC prognosis with a propensity score (PS) method to control confounding biases. Results In this study, we found that CRC patients with PBL PBX3 hypermethylation status had a better overall survival (OS) (hazard ratio [HRPS‐adjusted], 0.72 [95% CI, 0.52‐1.00]; P = 0.049). Subgroup analyses showed that the beneficial effect of PBX3 hypermethylation status on CRC 10‐years OS remained significant among UICC stage III patients ([HRPS‐adjusted], 0.60 [95% CI, 0.38 to 0.95]; P = 0.029) and colon cancer patients ([HRPS‐adjusted], 0.49 [95% CI, 0.26 to 0.92]; P = 0.027). Conclusion PBL PBX3 hypermethylation is positively associated with better prognosis of CRC, especially for the UICC stage III CRC patients and colon cancer patients.

Abstract Biological control is the main purpose of intentionally introducing non‐native invertebrate species. The evolutionary changes that occur in the populations of the introduced biological control agents may determine the agent's efficiency and the environmental safety. Here, to explore the pattern and extent of potential genomic changes in the worldwide introduced predatory ladybird beetle Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, we used a reduced‐representation sequencing method to analyze the genome‐wide differentiation of the samples from two native and five introduced locations. Our analyses based on a total of 53,032 single nucleotide polymorphism loci showed that beetles from the introduced locations in Asia and Europe exhibited significant reductions in genetic diversity and high differentiation compared with the samples from the native Australian range. Each introduced population belonged to a unique genetic cluster, while the beetles from two native locations were much more similar. These genomic patterns were also detected when the dataset was pruned for genomic outlier loci (52,318 SNPs remaining), suggesting that random genetic drift was the main force shaping the genetic diversity and population structure of this biological control agent. Our results provide a genome‐wide characterization of polymorphisms in a biological control agent and reveal genomic differences that were influenced by the introduction history. These differences might complicate assessments of the efficiency of biological control and the invasion potential of this species but also indicate the feasibility of selective breeding.

Thalamic hemorrhage bears the worst outcome among supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Minimally invasive endoscopic-aided surgery (MIS) has been proved to be safe and effective in evacuating ICH. However, the ideal timing of MIS is still a controversy. In this study, we present our experience in the treatment of patients with thalamic hemorrhage by ultrarapid MIS evacuation. This retrospective analysis enrolled seven patients treated with ultrarapid MIS evacuation of thalamic hemorrhage. Seven patients treated with EVD with similar ICH score were included as match control. Primary endpoints included rebleeding, morbidity, and mortality. Hematoma evacuation rate was evaluated by comparing the pre- and postoperative computed tomography (CT) scans. Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended (GOSE) and modified Rankin Score (mRS) were noted at the 6-month and 1-year postoperative follow-up. Among the seven patients, six were accompanied with intraventricular hemorrhage. All patients received surgery within 6 hours after the onset of stroke. The mean hematoma volume was 35 mL, and the mean operative time was 116.4 minutes. The median hematoma evacuation rate was 74.9%. There was no rebleeding or death reported after the surgery. The median GOSE and mRS were 3 and 5, respectively, at 6 months postoperatively. Further, 1-year postoperative median GOSE and mRS were 3 and 5, respectively. The data suggest that the ultrarapid MIS technique is a safe and effective way in the management of selected cases with thalamic hemorrhage, with favorable long-term functional outcomes. However, a large, prospective, randomized-controlled trial is needed to confirm these findings.

A four-layer odd function symmetrical dual-polarization coplanar waveguide- (CPW-) fed equilateral right triangle slot printed broadband directional antenna for wireless lab measurement applications is presented. The proposed antenna consists of two stacked perpendicular odd function symmetrical equilateral right triangle slot antenna structures with two stacked reflector ground planes. It is miniaturized, simple, and easy to be fabricated. The measured results demonstrate that the proposed antenna can achieve wide impedance bandwidth that is almost 520% for |S11| and |S22|; VSWR ≦ 3 which has implemented the operating band from 1.37 to 7.12 GHz for Global Positioning System (GPS, 1.575 GHz), Wireless Local Area Networks band (2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz), 6 GHz unlicensed spectrum (5.925 GHz∼7.125 GHz), Long Term Evolution Upper Band (LTE, 1710–2690 MHz), and sub-6 5 G band (3.5 GHz and 4.7 GHz) applications. The measured in-band isolation performance between the two input ports |S12| ≦ −17 dB is significantly achieved, and meanwhile, the antenna radiation pattern, peak gain, and efficiency of the proposed antenna are measured as well. In the end, the radiation pattern data are compared and analyzed with simulation results.

In the complex planting area with scattered parcels, combining the parcel vector data with remote sensing images to extract the winter wheat planting information can make up for the deficiency of the classification from remote sensing images simply. It is a feasible direction for precision agricultural subsidies, but it is difficult to collect large-scale parcel data and obtain high spatial resolution or time-series remote sensing images in mass production. It is a beneficial exploration of making use of existing parcel data generated by the ground survey and medium-resolution remote sensing images with suitable time and spatial resolution to extract winter wheat planting areas for large-scale precision agricultural subsidies. Therefore, this paper proposes a new algorithm to extract winter wheat planting areas based on ownership parcel data and medium-resolution remote sensing images for improving classification accuracy. Initially, the segmentation of the image is carried out. To this end, the parcel data is used to generate the region of interest (ROI) of each parcel. Second, the homogeneity of each ROI is detected by its statistical indices (mean value and standard deviation). Third, the parallelepiped classifier and rule-based feature extraction classification methods are utilized to conduct the homogeneous and nonhomogeneous ROIs. Finally, two classification results are combined as the final classification result. The new algorithm was applied to a complex planting area of 103.60 km2 in central China based on the ownership parcel data and Gaofen-1 PMS and WFV remote sensing images in this paper. The experimental results show that the new algorithm can effectively extract winter wheat planting area, eliminate the problem of salt-and-pepper noise, and obtain high-precision classification results (kappa = 0.9279, overall accuracy = 96.41%, user’s accuracy = 99.16%, producer’s accuracy = 93.39%, commission errors = 0.84%, and omission errors = 6.61%) when the size of ownership parcels matches the spatial resolution of remote sensing images.

Background and Objective. People with anemia have higher rates of developing Parkinson disease (PD) than the general population. Previous epidemiological studies have invested the risk of PD in patients with anemia. However, the findings are still inconclusive. Therefore, we did a systematic review with meta-analysis to clarify the association between anemia and risk of PD. Methods. We systematically searched articles on electronic databases such as PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Google Scholar between January 1, 2000 and July 30, 2020. Articles were independently evaluated by two authors. We included observational studies (case-control and cohort) and calculated the risk ratios (RRs) for associated with anemia and PD. Heterogeneity among the studies was assessed using the Q and I2 statistic. We utilized the random-effect model to calculate the overall RR with 95% CI. Results. A total of 342 articles were identified in the initial searches, and 7 full-text articles were evaluated for eligibility. Three articles were further excluded for prespecified reasons including insufficient data and duplications, and 4 articles were included in our systematic review and meta-analysis. A random effect model meta-analysis of all 4 studies showed no increased risk of PD in patients with anemia (N=4, RRadjusted=1.17 (95% CI: 0.94-1.45, p=0.15). In 2014 and 2015, Southern Taiwan experienced two unprecedented outbreaks, with more than 10,000 laboratory-confirmed dengue cases in each outbreak. The present study was aimed to investigate the influence of meteorological and spatial factors on dengue outbreaks in Southern Taiwan and was conducted in Kaohsiung City, which is the most affected area in Taiwan. The distributed lag nonlinear model was used to investigate the role of climatic factors in the 2014 and 2015 dengue outbreaks. Spatial statistics in the Geographic Information System was applied to study the relationship between the dengue spreading pattern and locations of traditional markets (human motility) in the 2015 dengue outbreak. Meteorological analysis results suggested that the relative risk of dengue fever increased when the weekly average temperature was more than 15°C at lagged weeks 5 to 18. Elevated relative risk of dengue was observed when the weekly average rainfall was more than 150 mm at lagged weeks 12 to 20. The spatial analysis revealed that approximately 83% of dengue cases were located in the 1000 m buffer zone of traditional market, with statistical significance. These findings support the influence of climatic factors and human motility on dengue outbreaks. Furthermore, the study analysis may help authorities to identify hotspots and decide the timing for implementation of dengue control programs.

The complex environment in northern China is the main reason for degradation of expansive mudstone below the canals, which resulted in instability and damage of canal slopes. In this study, a serial of laboratory tests was conducted to explore the volume changes and mechanical behaviors of expansive mudstone below the canals in Xinjiang. The experimental program includes wet-dry (WD) and wet-dry-freeze-thaw (WDFT) tests, volume measurement, and unconfined compression tests. The test results show that during the WD cycles, the volume changes of expansive mudstones with a higher dry range would be more significant. The freeze-thaw process in the WDFT cycles resulted in a decrease of volume change ranges when the expansive mudstones had a relatively smaller dry range and a slight increase of volume change ranges when the expansive mudstones had a relatively larger dry range. In the meantime, the stress-strain relationships of expansive mudstones with different dry ranges all presented strain softening under the cycles of WD or WDFT. The first cycle resulted in a significant decrease of failure strength. After seven WD/WDFT cycles, the failure strength of expansive mudstones with different dry ranges decreased by 37.2%∼59.1%. In addition, the freeze-thaw process in the WDFT cycles promoted the softening of the stress-strain relationships and aggravated the failure strength attenuation of expansive mudstones. Through this study, we expect to provide a preliminary basis for the construction and maintenance of expansive mudstone canals in Xinjiang.
