The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effects of Zinc toxicity when fishes are exposed in a controlled environment using two-dimensional correlation spectral analysis. This analysis is superior as subtle spectral changes induced by an external perturbation are not readily noticeable in conventional one-dimensional spectra. A higher decrease in protein and carbohydrates and a lesser decrease in lipids (20%–28%) against the control sample occurs due to Zn toxicity. The lowest value of the bioconcentration factor for Zn shows carbohydrate utilization, which was resolved well in our two-dimensional spectral analysis. Synchronous maps show the predominant changes in protein (1668 cm−1), phospholipids (1771 cm−1), and fatty acids (1707 cm−1). The asynchronous two-dimensional spectra show alteration in phosphodiester stretching of glycogen followed by Amide I. In addition, we explored the importance of principal component analysis coupled two-dimensional spectra analysis which shows weak amide III protein changes. The hetero asynchronous shows well-resolved cross peaks of +(1047, 1389), resulting in improved resolution. Assembly errors can lead to the eccentricity of rotors, further resulting in angular misalignment of rotors and inducing some secondary misalignments, such as the angular misalignment of gears and tilt misalignment of the inner ring of bearings (TMIRB). Ultimately, these misalignments can lead to rubbing faults. However, these misalignments have not raised significant concern, this article investigates their influence on the vibration responses of a dual-rotor-gear-bearing system with rubbing. First, a finite element model (FEM) of the system is built by using an in-house beam element code, and the nonlinear force model of the bearing is established based on the Hertz contact theory. Then, a new model to simulate angular misalignment of gears is proposed by changing the time-varying meshing stiffness (TVMS). Furthermore, the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the system are investigated in detail under different misalignment angles and rotating speeds, and some interesting conclusions are summarized as follows. Specifically, analyses of the spectrum cascade of radial and axial responses reveal the presence of rich multi-time frequencies and combined frequencies. Moreover, as the misalignment angle increases, the system experiences partial rubbing, the rotating speed threshold (RST) corresponding to initial rubbing decreases, and the mesh stiffness of gears decreases. In summary, the proposed model and the results of the analysis offer valuable insights into the vibration characteristics of such systems and these findings can be instrumental in optimizing their design and operation. Two series of vanillin derivatives containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole and 1,3-thiazolidin-4-one scaffolds were prepared and evaluated for their antifungal activity. The results revealed that compounds 6j (29.73 μg/ml) and 7a (38.15 μg/ml) displayed excellent inhibitory activity against the spore of Fusarium solani. The inhibitory activity of compound 7d (10.53 μg/ml) against the spore of Alternaria solani was more than 42-fold that of vanillin. Compound 7a (37.54 μg/ml) showed better antifungal activity against the spore of B. cinerea than positive controls. Investigation of the fruits of Rhododendron molle G. Don led to the isolation of three new grayanane-type diterpenoids, rhodomolleins LIV-LVI (1-3). The structures and absolute configurations of new compounds were fully elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, including HRESIMS, 1 D and 2 D NMR data. Compounds 1-3 were evaluated for analgesic activities utilizing an acetic acid-induced writhing test in mice. Compound 1 showed a significant antinociceptive effect with writhe inhibition rates of 72.9% and 100% at doses of 6 mg/kg and 20 mg/kg in mice, respectively. The binding mode of 1 to N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor (NSF, PDB: 6IP2) was explored by molecular docking, indicating the presence of hydrogen bond interactions which account for its analgesic activity. Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the presence of neurodegenerative lesions and cognitive impairment. In this study, a series of novel palmatine derivatives were designed and synthesized through the introduction of a heteroatom using carbodiimide-mediated condensation. The synthesized compounds were then screened for toxicity and potency, leading to the identification of compound 2q, which exhibited low toxicity and high potency. A new 14-membered resorcylic acid lactone (RAL14), chaetolactone A (1), along with three known ones (2−4), was obtained from the fermentation of the soil-derived fungus Chaetosphaeronema sp. SSJZ001. In the present study, a series of tests were conducted on a purpose-built experimental setup to investigate the relationship between the pressure signal and flow regime in horizontal pneumatic conveying processes. The pressure signals and images of the material flow regime during the conveying process were collected and analyzed. Direct observation, power spectrum analysis, and discrete wavelet transform were employed in this work. The results show that as the conveying pressure increases, the time taken to reach the steady conveying stage is shorter. A correlation was discovered among the frequency intervals, pneumatic conveying stages, and flow regimes. The periodicity of the decomposed signal increases with decomposition scale. Virtual reality has gained more attention in the physical training field, but few studies focus on the effects of VR on older adults. Based on existing study we suggest that VR-based upper limb training might be more effective for older adults and used functional near inferred spectrum and movement analysis to evaluate the effects of VR-based training on older adults. 20 older and 20 youth adults were recruited to perform VR training by extending their upper limb to reaching the objects, and non-VR training as a contrast. Both age-related and task-related differences were found in cortical activation, showing that the VR training has aroused more cortical activation. The older groups have more intensive movement but perform worse in terms of task completion. Both groups performed better in VR, and the difference in the older group was higher. Two new triterpenes mayteneri A (1), mayteneri B (2), and seven known compounds (3-9) were isolated from stems of Maytenus hookeri Loes. The chemical structures of compounds 1 and 2 were established by 1D, 2D NMR, HRESIMS analysis, and calculating electronic circular dichroism (ECD). The structures of known compounds 3-9 were determined by comparison of their spectral with those reported. Previously we reported a simple algorithmic method of spectral determination method (SDM), which is based on the first principle that a γ-ray spectrum obtained for a sample is a linear superposition of individual spectra of the radioactive nuclides included in the sample and demonstrated that the method is valid for γ-ray determination. Here, we apply it to the spectra obtained by liquid scintillation counter (LSC). In LSC measurements quenching is generally observed, and we at first developed its correction method to standard spectra. The SDM code reported in the previous investigation is used to analyze the LSC spectra. Based on the analyses done by using the measured spectra, we concluded that the SDM method is valid in the LSC spectra similarly to the γ-ray spectra studied in the previous investigation. AbstractFour new alkaloids, arecatines A–D (1–4), were isolated from the peels of Areca catechu. Compound 1 is an unusual piperidine-pyridine hybrid alkaloid, whereas compounds 2–4 feature bis-piperidine alkaloids. Their structures were elucidated by UV, IR, HRESIMS, and NMR spectra analysis. This paper presents a generalized vibration-based multiple breathing crack localization technique in beams with an unknown number of cracks based on Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA). Localization of multiple breathing cracks is a highly challenging inverse problem, as all these breathing cracks (more than two) might be in a similar state (either opening or closing state) at any particular time instant or in contrasting states (while some breathing cracks are opening, others in closing state) during vibration. The level of nonlinearity of vibration response is strongly dependent not only on each crack size, and location but also on the application of driving force along the cracked beam. The concept of varied input frequency excitation sources is employed in the present work for multiple breathing crack identification over the tedious traditional approach of varying input force application positions. The major advantage of using singular spectrum analysis in the present work is that it can reliably isolate and extract the very low-amplitude nonlinear sensitive components (super harmonics and intermodulation) being buried in the total response based on the pairwise eigenvalue property of harmonic components. Investigations have been carried out by varying the number, spatial locations, and also intensities of the breathing cracks. Sensitivities associated with measurement noise and also with limited sensors are also investigated. The results of both numerical and experimental investigations carried out in this paper concluded that the proposed SSA can effectively localize closely spaced or sparsely spaced (i.e.,, spatially far apart) multiple cracks in the beam. This paper aims to present better physical understanding of flexural wavenumber spectral behaviors of multi-stepped periodic beams by the method of reverberation-ray matrix (MRRM) based on the Timoshenko beam theory. According to the Bloch theorem, the formulation of MRRM is presented and the complex flexural wavenumbers of multi-stepped periodic beams are solved by numerical techniques. The validation of MRRM in analyzing flexural wave behaviors of multi-stepped periodic beams is verified by comparison with the analytical wavenumber spectrum of a homogeneous beam. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the general wavenumber spectral characteristics of an infinite periodic beam with alternate variation of cross-sections. The effects of the material properties and geometrical parameters of the beam segments are evaluated. The most remarkable finding inspired from the wavenumber spectral curves is that the real wavenumber of the multi-stepped periodic beam does not vary with frequency in the attenuation bands, which indicates that the wavelength of the flexural wave is constant in the attenuation bands. Highlights A multi-stepped periodic beam model with arbitrary finite number of beam segments is established. Complex wavenumber spectrum analysis is performed to reveal the propagation and attenuation behaviors of multi-stepped periodic beams. Similarity and comparative studies on the propagation and attenuation characteristics of beams of a uniform cross-section and of variable cross-sections are carried out to provide better physical understanding. The research investigates the validity of the complete quadratic combination (CQC) method. A new approach is proposed in order to consider the effect of modal correlation more accurately than the CQC method. Statistical analysis indicates that the error in the estimation of modal correlation could be reduced compared to the CQC method. This method is especially more accurate in higher frequency ratios where the role of interaction between modes in the seismic response is noticeable. Statistical analysis reveals that the proposed method is more precise, especially for far-field records. Meanwhile, the proposed method is not sensitive to different site classes. Tyrosinase inhibitors can reduce melanin production for skin whitening, but some existing products may harm the skin. This study discovered six compounds that inhibit tyrosinase in the mushroom Agaricus bisporus by over 50%. Compound 11 displayed strong inhibition (92.2% and 86.7%) for L-tyrosine and L-DOPA substrates, while compound 13 showed high inhibition (96.0% and 62.0%) for both substrates. Molecular docking simulations revealed compounds 11 and 13 bind at the allosteric site of the enzyme. New dammarane-type triterpenoid saponin, named 22(R)-notoginsenoside Ab1 (1), together with thirteen known dammarane-type triterpenoid saponins (2-14) was isolated from the EtOH extract of black ginseng and their structures were elucidated on the basis of one- and two-dimensional NMR (including 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HSQC, HMBC, ROESY) and calculated ECD. In Cardiovascular Rehabilitation (CR), patient adherence to the maintenance phase is a major challenge. Virtual reality-based therapy (VRBT) promotes acute hemodynamic and autonomic repercussions similar to traditional rehabilitation and can increase patient adherence to the program. However, it is unknown whether the combination of VRBT to a traditional CR manages to maintain or even improve clinical and autonomic variables in long term. To analyze whether VRBT combination in a traditional CR can maintain or improve clinical and autonomic variables in cardiac patients in the maintenance phase of these programs. Twenty-six volunteers (62.04 ± 12.22 years) were evaluated, who underwent an initial assessment and two other assessments (in the sixth and 12th week) of the following outcomes: systolic and diastolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse saturation of oxygen, heart rate, perceived exertion, and cardiac autonomic modulation, using linear and non-linear heart rate variability methods. Harmaline, an important beta-carboline alkaloid, shows effective anti-proliferative action against different types of human cancers and is also found to be a nucleic acid targeting natural molecule. This review sought to address the different signal pathways of apoptosis by harmaline in different cancer cell lines and simultaneously to characterize the structure activity aspects of the alkaloid with different motifs of nucleic acid to show its preference, biological efficacy and genotoxicity. In this paper, a coupled dynamic model is proposed for a motor and a multistage gears system of a coal mining machine with tooth root defects. The model effectively simulates the influence of the tooth root cracks on the vibration signals in a multistage gears system when the cracks occur in the planetary subsystem and fixed-shaft gear train subsystem. Comparing the Kurtosis and Crest factor indicators of planetary gear dynamic force and vibration velocity signals, the former is more sensitive to tooth root faults and more suitable as a dynamic indicator for evaluating the effect of tooth root defects on the planetary gear system. The electromechanical system is simulated by coupling the dynamic model of three-phase asynchronous motor and gear system, and the effect of gear tooth faults with different crack depths on the dynamic characteristics of motor-multistage gear system is explored. The results show that the motor current signature analysis (MCSA) can be applied to the detection of gear tooth faults in the transmission system. This method greatly reduces the workload of signal acquisition and spectrum analysis, and can be used as an effective supplement to the traditional vibration signal detection technology. A straightforward pushover method is developed for unsymmetric-plan buildings under bidirectional seismic excitation. To this end, a single innovative torsional-lateral load pattern is introduced based on the response spectrum analysis. The joint contribution of two horizontal seismic excitations and the joint contribution of all considered modes to internal structural forces in forming plastic hinges are considered by implementing the single load pattern. An equivalent dominant mode shape derived from the load pattern is defined to establish capacity spectra in both directions. Three new quinolizidine alkaloids (1 − 3), including one new naturally isoflavone and cytisine polymer (3), along with 6 known ones were isolated from the ethanol extract of Sophora tonkinensis Gagnep. Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic data analysis (IR, UV, HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR), combined with ECD calculations. The antifungal activity against Phytophythora capsica, Botrytis cinerea, Gibberella zeae, and Alternaria alternata of the compounds was evaluated in a mycelial inhibition assay. Although some cyclotriveratrylene (CTV) liquid crystals had been reported, the CTV liquid crystal with high fluorescence in mesophase was not presented up to now. By introducing diphenylacrylonitrile units on CTV skeleton, two CTV derivatives with AIE units (7a and 7b) were prepared for the first time. Their structures and crown conformations were characterised by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MALDI-MS spectra and elemental analysis. Samples 7a and 7b exhibited the reversible liquid crystalline behaviours with hexagonal columnar mesophase supported by the DSC, POM and XRD analysis. The studies on photophysical properties of samples 7a and 7b suggested the high fluorescence in solid state and mesophase. The absolute fluorescence quantum yield of 7b in mesophase was as high as 0.45. This work not only reported the first CTV liquid crystals with high fluorescence in aggregated state but also provided a good strategy for constructing the novel CTV liquid crystals with excellent fluorescence. In this paper, we model the intensity of cross-border railway traffic on the Alpine-Western Balkan Rail Freight Corridor (AWB RFC). For each of the four border crossing points: Dimitrovgrad, Presevo, Sid, and Subotica, time series composed of 102 monthly export and import railway freight traffic observations are used for training and testing of alternative forecasting models. Traditional ARIMA, Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network, hybrid ARIMA-LSTM and Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) models, are fitted to each of the time series. For all the considered time series, the best model was chosen based on the lowest values of commonly used metrics for measuring the performance of forecasting models. LSTM models outperformed all other models with the highest prediction accuracy while SSA models exhibited the lowest accuracy. By utilizing advanced forecasting models, this research contributes to finding effective solutions for addressing the issue of inadequate planning of border crossing procedures in railway traffic. A novel [1, 2, 4]triazolo[5,1-b]quinazoline fluorescent probe (VIi) for Fe3+ was developed, featuring with rapid response (< 5 s) and specific selectivity to Fe3+, low detection limit (1.3 × 10−5 M), as well as the ability to resist interference of chelating agent (e.g. EDTA). VIi-based fluorescent test paper can quickly recognize Fe3+ under irradiation at the wavelength of 365 nm. Two pairs of new dihydrophenanthro[b]furan enantiomers blephebibnols G–H (1–2), one new dihydrophenanthro[b]furan derivative blephebibnol I (3), along with four known analogues (4–7), were isolated from the tubers of Bletilla striata. Their structures including the absolute configurations were determined by the combination of spectroscopic data analysis, ECD and NMR calculations. Microbial transformation of dihydroresveratrol (DHRSV) using Beauveria bassiana has produced two new methylglucosylated derivatives of DHRSV (1 and 2), whose structures were characterized as 4′-O-(4″-O-methyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-dihydroresveratrol (4′-O-MG DHRSV, 1) and 3-O-(4″-O-methyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-dihydroresveratrol (3-O-MG DHRSV, 2) on the basis of spectroscopic methods. They showed moderate SIRT3 agonistic activity, and compound 2 exhibited the best deacetylation of 406.63% at 10 μM. The present research displays the green synthesis of stable silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) and copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs). The aqueous solution of Spirulina platensis (blue green algae) source was used as a reducing and capping agent and this study assessed the cytotoxicity of Ag- and CuO-NPs on three cancer cell cultures: A549 (lung cancer), HCT (human colon cancer), Hep2 (laryngeal carcinoma cancer) and normal cell (WISH). For NPs characterization, the UV/Vis spectroscopy was used where their formation and crystallinity were proven with $$\lambda $$ λ max values for Ag- and CuO-NPs of 425 and 234 nm, respectively. According to X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Ag-NPs were spherical in shape (size 2.23–14.68 nm) and CuO-NPs were small (size 3.75–12.4 nm). Zeta potential analysis showed the particles potential, which was recorded by −14.95 ± 4.31 mV for Ag-NPs and −21.63 ± 4.90 mV for CuO-NPs. After that, Ag- and CuO-NPs were assessed for anticancer properties against A549, HCT, Hep2 and WISH. IC50 of Ag-NPs recorded 15.67, 12.94, 3.8 and 10.44 µg/ml for WISH, A549, HCT and Hep2, respectively. IC50 for CuO-NPs was recorded as 32.64, 54.59, 3.98 and 20.56 µg/ml for WISH, A549, HCT and Hep2 cells, respectively. Safety limits for WISH and A549 were achieved 98.64% by 2.44 µg/ml and 83.43% by 4.88 µg/ml of Ag-NPs, and it was found to be 97.94% by 2.44 µg/ml against HCT, while that for Hep2 is 95.9% by 2.44 µg/ml. Concerning the anticancer effect of CuO-NPs, the safety limit was recorded as 88.70% by 2.44 and 98.48% by 4.88 µg/ml against WISH and A549, while HCT reached 89.92% by 2.44 µg/ml and Hep2 was 83.33% by 4.88 µg/ml. High-efficiency beneficiation of low-grade gold ore becomes an inevitable trend with the depletion of high-grade gold ore. The work innovatively proposed a novel beneficiation process for a typical low-grade gold ore through developing compound collector and discussed the adsorption mechanism. PAX and ADD are most suitable compound collector when the ratio is 3:1 and dosage is 100 g/t. A concentrate with gold grade of 18.40 g/t and recovery of 79.72% is obtained by the novel "one-stage rougher, three-stage cleaner, and two-stage scavenger" closed-circuit process, which has the advantages of low-cost, simple-process, and high-efficiency comparing with the conventional process. The FTIR spectra analysis shows that PAX is a saturated organic compound containing branched chains and ADD is a straight-chain organic compound containing unsaturated bonds. The adsorption of PAX or ADD on the gold ore is chemisorption process and the compound collector has a strong chemisorption capacity. The novel closed-circuit flotation process using compound collector develops an excellent beneficiation effect and provides a prospective and effective approach to concentrate low-grade gold ore. Six new iridoid glycosides were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of the whole plants of Hedyotis diffusa Willd. A new disaccharide glycoside, franchoside A (1), and 17 known compounds were isolated from the tubers of Arisaema franchetianum Engler. The chemical structure of the previously undescribed compound 1 was elucidated on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analyses. Compounds 1, 2, 6, 10, 14 and 18 showed significant cytotoxic activities at varying IC50 values in the range of 4.0–10.6 μM against five cancer cell lines. The reaction of free di-manganese oxide clusters Mn2Ox+ (x = 2-7) with hydrogen in a flow tube reactor results in a strongly cluster size dependent complex formation: Mn2O3+ and Mn2O4+ are most reactive and adsorb up to two H2 molecules, the reactivity is reduced for Mn2O2+/Mn2O5+, and Mn2O6+/Mn2O7+ appear to be non-reactive. Infrared multiple-photon dissociation (IR-MPD) spectra of the complexes Mn2O4H2+ and Mn2O5H2+ reveal one band that shifts upon isotopic labelling of hydrogen, whereas the spectra of Mn2O2H2+ and Mn2O3H2+ do not show any clear spectral shifts upon H2/D2 exchange. Detailed analysis of the IR-MPD spectra in conjunction with density functional theory (DFT) calculations strongly indicate the molecular η2-binding of H2 to one of the Mn atoms. In this work, in vitro antibacterial and Leishmanicidal activities of a ligand and phthalocyanine derivatives (2, 3, 3a–3c and 4) were tested for six selected standard bacteria and one Leishmania species. The synthesis of fluorinated pyrazoline compound (2) was first carried out from a chalcone precursor (1). Then, peripherally tetra-substituted metallophthalocyanines (zinc(II) (3a), cobalt(II) (3b) and iron(II) (3c)) and axially di-substituted silicon(IV) (4) containing fluorinated pyrazoline groups were obtained. Two new pregnane glycosides (1 and 2), together with four known ones (3– 6), were isolated from the roots of Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight (Asclepiadaceae). On the basis of detailed spectroscopic analysis and chemical method, the structures of new compounds were characterized to be metaplexigenin 3-O-β-D-cymaropyranosyl- (1→4)-α-L-diginopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-cymaropyranoside (1), metaplexigenin 3-O-α-L-diginopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-cymaropyranoside (2). All the isolated compounds (1–6) were tested for their in vitro inhibitory activity against the growth of human colon cancer cell lines HCT-116. The organic aromatic acid 4-Chloroanilinium Bromide (CAB) and 4-Chloroanilinium Thiocyanate (CAT) crystals were grown using solution method in ethanol solvent at room temperature. The crystalline structural parameters of the grown CAB and CAT crystals were determined using single XRD study. The Gaussian 09 programme was applied to determine the molecular geometrical structure and second-order hyperpolarisability value. The linear optical property of the grown crystals was confirmed with the determined energy band gap value from Gaussian 09 programme as well as experimental UV-visible spectrum analysis. The calculated value of second-order hyperpolarisability from Gaussian 09 programme for nonlinear optical property is proved that the grown crystals are suitable candidates for optoelectronic device applications. The biological activity of the grown crystals was proved with antibacterial and antifungal studies and are promising candidates for the development of antibiotic drugs against tested bacterial strains and hence it is suitable for pharmaceutical applications. Transethosomes, classified as 3rd generation nanocarriers, have gained global acclaim due to their profound potential in addressing diverse medical conditions. Their superior dermal penetration, attributed to essential constituents, such as edge activators and alcohol, sets them apart from other nanoformulations. The current review article embarks with an introduction followed by a comprehensive exploration of transethosome structures, differentiating them from fellow nanocarriers. A detailed analysis of characteristics and the spectrum of marketed products of various nanocarriers is also provided. Furthermore, the article offers a taxonomy of preparation methods of transethosomes and reports the frequently employed methods. It briefly surveys research studies encompassing various drug categories, spanning a wide range of medical conditions. In summary, this review article is dedicated to achieving several pivotal aims and objectives. We aim to substantiate the superior attributes of transethosomes when compared to conventional commercial products and other nanoformulations, demonstrating their clinical promise in addressing various human medical conditions. Additionally, we seek to elucidate the regulatory pathway required to secure approvals for transethosomes from relevant regulatory authorities and shine a light on their innovative potential as revealed in patent literature. In the current work, we formulate a dynamic spectrum assignment (DSA) technique to allocate the experimental licensed 95 GHz Tera-Hertz spectrum to the mobile service providers (MSPs) in India in view of achieving high spectrum usage. For a fixed term of renewal (ToR), the formulated DSA technique compares the number of consumers of an MSP with all the remaining MSPs and then assigns the spectrum accordingly. The DSA then updates the assigned spectrum to an MSP at every ToR in accordance with variation in the amount of consumers compared to the previous ToR. The DSA technique is formulated such that it finds the optimal spectrum amount required by every MSP during each ToR. Also, the mean capacity (MC), spectral efficiency (SE), energy efficiency (EE), and cost efficiency (CE) are derived for each MSP. The aforementioned metrics are used to compare the performance of DSA with the static spectrum assignment (SSA) method, which assigns the spectrum to any MSP without accounting for the actual requirement by the consumer. We conduct extensive simulations considering a specific scenario with four MSPs, and the results demonstrate that the DSA technique is able to meet the demands of the 6G wireless systems as it is able to reuse the available spectrum for every MSP for a fewer number of cells of approximately 38% reduced amount of buildings. Further, the results also demonstrate that, in comparison to the traditional static spectrum assignment (SSA) method, DSA improves the MC and SE by 20% and the EE and CE by 25%. A new terrein dimer named lichtheicol A (1) and a new meroterpene named lichtheiterpene A (2), were isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus Lichtheimia sp. J2B1, together with 10 known compounds (3–12). The planar structures and absolute configurations of 1 and 2 were established by a combination of extensive spectroscopic data analyses and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. Background: Opioid overdose deaths continue to present major public health challenges in the U.S. Harm reduction agencies have begun using drug checking technologies to identify adulterants in the local drug supply and reduce overdose risk among people who use drugs (PWUD). Through qualitative and ethnographic methods, we assess the use of portable mass spectrometers at a harm reduction agency in a Northeastern U.S. city. Methods: We conducted participant observation, and on-the-spot qualitative interviews with harm-reduction staff members (n = 10) and their clientele (n = 17) between May 2019 and December 2020. Interviews explored emic views on drug checking (process, logistics, technology), and perceived benefits and challenges. We used thematic content analysis techniques to code and analyze interview transcriptions. Results: Implementation and use of drug checking devices were not free of challenges and malfunctions, often delaying drug checking opportunities and increasing suspicions and distrust among clients. Yet, staff members perceived that when working properly, or in conjunction with an additional device, they offered information about purchased drugs that could empower clients and potentially lead to positive behavior change. Use of these devices also enhanced engagement between harm reduction staff and PWUD, facilitating meaningful conversations around self-advocacy and harm reduction engagement. Conclusion: We report qualitative findings on the experiences and perceptions of drug checking devices among harm reduction staff and PWUD. Our findings indicate that use of this technology has the potential to decrease risk behaviors, expand health promotion services, and help reduce high rates of fentanyl-related overdose. The aim of this study was to investigate several possible factor structures of the Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ). We used the 27-item screening tool for school-aged children in a general population of 8-year-old children (n = 3,538) and compared the occurring solutions to previously published factor models. A one-factor solution and a four-factor solution were identified in Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and confirmed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), while two-, three-, five- and six-factor solutions were rejected. In CFA, our four-factor solution showed the best goodness-of-fit indexes when compared with factor models previously presented by Posserud et al. and Ehlers et al. The results indicate a strong underlying connection between all ASSQ items which is elicited by the one-factor solution. Although as a screening tool, ASSQ is functioning with the unifactorial solution, the four factors can help to identify certain clusters of autism spectrum traits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
