The article presents a study which focuses on the development of a three dimensional (3D) accelerometric device which can be used for acquisition and selection of appealing spatiotemporal and kinetic parameters to assess gait in dogs. The study was conducted to 16 healthy adult dogs which undergo clinical and orthopaedic examinations that reveals no abnormalities. The study shows that symmetry index (SI) and regularity index (RI) can be used by clinicians to detect even a slight limping.
