ObjectivesMethodResultsConclusionWe conducted the current systematic review to investigate the association between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and severe headaches or migraine among adults via synthesizing observational evidence.We conducted a systematic literature search of observational studies through PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases from inception until July 2024. The PECO framework was implemented to select eligible studies as follows: Population (adults with severe headache or migraine), Exposure (individuals with the highest adherence to a pro-inflammatory diet), Comparison (individuals with the lowest adherence to a pro-inflammatory diet), Outcome (risk of developing severe headache or migraine, headaches frequency, duration, severity, and migraine-related disability).After reviewing six studies involving 31,958 individuals, we found that following an anti-inflammatory diet is associated with a lower frequency and severity of migraine headaches. Additionally, our research revealed that individuals with migraines tend to have lower adherence to an anti-inflammatory diet when compared to people without migraines. Surprisingly, adherence to a pro-inflammatory diet was linked to a reduced risk of chronic daily headaches.Present findings imply a negative link between an inflammatory diet and severe headaches or migraine. To describe the choroidal retinal microvascular system in Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) subjects and furnish additional proof for the early authentication and treatment of VKH suffers. From the beginning to July 2023, a comprehensive search for issued articles on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) among VKH sufferers was implemented in Embase, PubMed, and Web of Science databases. This meta-analysis included 9 eligible studies. Primary endpoints included four kinds of vascular densities, such as superficial capillaris plexus (SCP), deep capillaris plexus (DCP), and choriocapillary (CC). SCP and DCP vessel densities in maculas were both smaller in VKH sufferers in the active stage than those normal and remission examinees (SCP vessel density, p < 0.00001, DCP vessel density, p < 0.00001). Compared to remission, CC vascular density was lower during the active phase. (p < 0.00001). SFCT and CT in the active phase exceeded those in normal and remission examinees (all of them p < 0.00001). In terms of the patients with remission, their FAZ was bigger than that in normal subjects. (MD =0.04, p < 0.0001). Retinal and choroidal microvasculatures are characteristically changed in active VKH patients, which suggests that OCTA can be used as a tool for VKH follow-up. Studies were included if their subjects were >5 years and used Optovue device for imaging. Twelve studies were included for final analysis. After extracting data, foveal avascular zone (FAZ), vessel density (VD) of superficial capillary plexus (SCP) and deep capillary plexus (DCP) in the foveal and parafoveal area, central foveal thickness (CFT), and visual acuity (VA) were compared between the study groups.in individual who were born full term the FAZ was significantly larger. The SCP and DCP VD was significantly higher in children with history of ROP treatment. Superficial parafoveal VD was significantly lower in term children than both treated groups. The CFT was significantly higher in children with history of ROP (treated and untreated) than the terms. VA was lower in laser and IVI treated children than terms and it was related to the changes in CFT, foveal superficial and deep VD and FAZ area.Patients with a history of ROP treatment have a significantly greater CFT, higher VD of foveal SCP and DCP, and lower VA than the term-born children. Open Innovation (OI) literature related to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has often been fragmented, hindering the effective generalisation of findings. We conducted a systematic multidisciplinary literature review to explore OI in the context of SMEs across various regions. OI research in SMEs was most common in Europe, followed by China, Korea, South East Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East. Surprisingly, very little research has been done in the USA, Canada, and the Indian subcontinent. We aimed to identify the commonalities and regional specifics in the antecedents and processes leading to OI. The review included one hundred research articles from the Web of Science database. Our findings revealed four common antecedents of OI across the firms: Human Factors, Technology, Policy, and Heterogeneity.Additionally, we identified three standard processes that lead to the OI phenomenon: firm-level partnerships, collaboration with academia, and intermediation. Though the antecedents and processes hold across firms of different sizes, human factors, policy and heterogeneity among the antecedents and intermediation as the process holds more significance to the SMEs as a sector. This research has important implications for academia and the industry. Firstly, we have responded to the research gap by increasing the generalisation of results across the regions. Secondly, different stakeholders may look for literature that is directly relevant to them. Thirdly, SME managers need to know the specific attitudes to facilitate OI effectively. Fourthly, the importance of intermediation has been identified as an effective process leading to OI. Finally, we have categorised future research directions under different clusters. Lip print analysis has been proposed as a new human identification technique that allows the estimation of various individual parameters, such as population affinity. However, more consensus among the scientific community regarding this topic is needed. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review to gather evidence that might clarify whether cheiloscopy can be used in population affinity estimation. The systematic review was performed following the PRISMA guidelines. A bibliographic survey was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, restricted to articles published between 2010 and 2022. Studies were selected according to eligibility criteria, and the study data were collected. The risk of bias in each study was assessed and applied as additional inclusion or exclusion criteria. A descriptive approach synthesized the results of the articles eligible for analysis. Out of seven included studies, six demonstrated differences in lip patterns between different population groups, and one obtained inconclusive results. Several methodological flaws in the studies and variations in the collection and analysis methodology applied, which may have conditioned the results obtained, were identified. Plants of the Mentha genus have been studied for their application as anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial agents, with these effects being attributed to menthol, the majority compound. This review aims to compile research on the antifungal action of menthol and its derivatives. A search was conducted on the following databases: Web of Science, Medline/PubMed, Embase, The Cochrane Library, Scopus and Science Direct, using the descriptors 'menthol' and/or 'derivatives'. Twenty-six articles on in vitro studies were selected. Menthol showed activity mainly against Candida albicans, Candida krusei, Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium spp. with MICs 0.78–1000 µg/mL and MFC 0.5–1000 µg/mL. In combination with fluconazole, it presented a synergistic effect against Candida genus. However, there have been few studies on the mechanisms of action. This study examines the state of research in the field of digital fashion, specifically focusing on design and production. The authors propose a definition for digital fashion as the ‘virtual creation, production, and depiction of an individual's identity, in particular in the field of clothing and footwear, through computer-aided design’. Using PRISMA 2020 guidelines, 386 publications from the Web of Science database have been selected for the systematic review. A keyword map was created based on bibliographic data, and a cluster analysis of the publications revealed five main clusters. The analysis of articles shows that the most frequently mentioned topics are design, fashion, social media, and technology. Purpose: This research seeks to identify the key factors influencing the quality of financial information within the context of globalisation and complex commercial transactions.Motivation: In today's globalised environment, trust in financial information is crucial for maintaining market stability and efficiency. Understanding these influencing factors is paramount for sound decision-making by firm managers.Design/Methodology/Approach: A Systematic Literature Review methodology is employed. The investigation examines 50 articles from the SCOPUS and Web of Science databases to identify the key determinants affecting financial information quality.Main findings: The investigation identifies critical factors at firm, country and international levels. Firm-level factors include corporate governance practices, incentives for transparent disclosure and bank monitoring. Country-level influences stem from regulatory frameworks and firm-agent dynamics. Background: Haemostasis during ovarian cystectomy is reported to damage the ovarian reserve, but the comparative impacts of three haemostasis methods (bipolar energy, suture and haemostatic sealant) on ovarian reserve in patients with ovarian cysts are not well known. Methods: The cochrane library, PubMed and Web of Science databases were searched from the date of inception of the database to June 2022 for literature exploring the impact of haemostasis methods during ovarian cystectomy on ovarian reserve. A traditional meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager software. A network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed using Stata and GemTC software. Results: The direct meta-analysis comparison indicated that the mean postoperative reduction of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level was significantly higher in the electrocoagulation (bipolar) group than suture and haemostatic sealant group, both in the overall group and subgroup of women with ovarian endometrioma. In NMA, the reduction of postoperative AMH levels in the electrocoagulation (bipolar) group was higher than the suture group at 6 months with a statistical significance, and at 1, 3 and 12 months without a significant difference. The difference in the postoperative decrease of AMH level did not reach statistical significance between suture and sealant, coagulation and haemostatic sealant. The comprehensive ranking results revealed that suture treatment was, with the highest probability, beneficial to the protection of the ovarian reserve. Conclusions: There was insufficient research to detect the optimal haemostasis method for ovarian reserve preservation in ovarian cystectomy. Nevertheless, haemostasis by electrocoagulation (bipolar) should be avoided when possible, and the suture might be considered as the best choice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a worldwide public health issue for its high prevalence rate and the disability it produces. The consequences of ABI, including cognitive deficits, may impact return to work. This review focuses on the association between executive functions (EFs) and return to work after ABI. A systematic review of the literature between 1998 and 2023 was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. The articles were retrieved from the Pubmed, Medline and Web of Science databases. A total of 49 studies were finally selected. Impairments of EF were consistently shown to have a negative impact on return to work after an ABI. There is evidence that specific executive functions and neurobehavioral variables may affect return to work Studies showed a significant theoretical and methodological heterogeneity, representing an important limitation to understand the relation between EFs and work. There is a robust association between EFs and return to work after brain injury. Innovation scholars disseminate their significant findings through international scientific journals. We conducted content analysis of 2,869 peer-reviewed articles on innovation in Africa, examining their origins, themes, collaborative networks, and scholarly influence. These articles, spanning the years 2015–2021, were curated from the Web of Science database across scientific, social science, and humanities journals. The findings reveal that 46.3% of these articles lacked contributions from African organizations or scholars, while 25.1% involved collaborations between African and non-African entities. A remaining 28.6% were exclusively authored by African scholars, with South African universities being the most frequent contributors. Notably, articles authored by scholars from non-African institutions garnered more citations and appeared in journals with higher impact factors. Key themes within these articles revolved around the knowledge economy, African business innovation, agricultural advancements, and the role of mobile phones in knowledge dissemination and marketing. Surprisingly, sustainability topics were notably absent. South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana featured prominently in the discussions. In conclusion, it is imperative to foster broader participation from African nations and scholars in innovation research and ensure a stronger African perspective in international publications. This study aimed to investigate LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, and CASBEE certification systems and assess their integration potential with BIM as facilitator to test different project alternatives in order to help achieve certification system requirements. A literature review was conducted, in which 299 articles were retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases and refined using the Bibliometrix tool, resulting in a total of 271 published articles. Of these, 15 used tools to facilitate BIM-LEED integration and were therefore selected for analysis. The results indicate that integrating BIM and green building rating systems can make the process more agile and standardized. However, more research in this field is needed, especially investigating the suitability of BIM authoring tools other than Revit, and evaluating the efficiency of commercial tools and those developed in scientific research to assist in the certification process. Background: This study aimed to investigate the association between sex hormones and the risk of pulmonary fibrosis by conducting a meta-analysis of previously published studies. Methods: We executed a comprehensive search of the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases to locate pertinent studies published up to April 2024. We included studies that reported the association between sex hormones and the risk of pulmonary fibrosis. Standardized mean difference (SMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a random-effects model. Results: A total of 10 articles, encompassing 1371 patients, were finally incorporated in this meta-analysis. Based on the evaluation of the included studies, it was observed that the levels of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) (pooled SMD: −0.72, 95% CI: −1.21 to −0.24, p < 0.001), testosterone (pooled SMD: −1.25, CI: −2.39 and −0.11, p < 0.001) and estrogen (pooled SMD: −0.56, 95% CI: −0.96 to −0.15, p < 0.001) were significantly lower in patients with pulmonary fibrosis, whereas the levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) remained unaffected. Publication bias was ruled out through funnel plots. Conclusion: This meta-analysis indicates that reduced levels of DHEA-S, testosterone, estrogen may serve as potential risk factors for pulmonary fibrosis. There is a pressing need for additional studies to confirm this association and explore the underlying biological mechanisms. Objective: To evaluate reliable and validated temporomandibular disorder (TMD) diagnostic instruments for use as diagnostic tools in epidemiological surveys. Methods: Two independent reviewers performed searches in the Medline/PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases to identify validation studies of diagnostic and screening instruments for TMD published up to March 2021. Results: Sixteen studies were included for the systematic review. Different TMD instruments were evaluated, such as FAI, RDC/TMD, DC/TMD, Helkimo Index, and AAOP Questionnaire. The instruments differed according to the number of items. Some questionnaires appear to be effective for the initial screening of TMD patients and can be incorporated in clinical practice and epidemiological studies since they are easy and fast to apply. Conclusion: To provide an accurate TMD diagnosis, it is important to use instruments that involve a clinical examination. This paper aims to explore the link between consumer-facing technologies and customer experience in physical retail environments.It uses a semi-systematic literature review to synthesize existing knowledge, to provide a chronological overview of the evolution of the research area and to create an agenda for future research. To do so, the authors develop a search string based on a preliminary literature screening and four expert interviews, which they apply to the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Using a multistep approach, they select 31 articles published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of retailing and marketing, management and technology. This paper aims to develop some specific theoretical themes, which could be useful for HR personnel in adopting and implementing blockchain technology in the HR department. Total 126 published documents during the time interval 2016–2021 from the Scopus and Web of Science databases were explored to classify the relevant 25 records using the PRISMA flow diagram. Complete bibliometric information has been synthesised concerning titles, abstracts, and keywords of each of those 25 publications. VOSviewer was used to generate term co-occurrence network maps based on assembled bibliometric information. Four thematic clusters were evolved from the network maps and based on the thematic clusters; two theoretical themes were developed through associations. Two theoretical themes, i.e., Employee-Systems Interaction (ESI) and Blockchain Framework (BcF) for HR, were identified to become the prime movers for adopting and implementing blockchain in the domain of HRM. Later, for justifying the two theoretical themes and testing the robustness of the results, we reported the key terms thoroughly and critically going through the 25 publications. ESI and BcF for HR will add tremendous theoretical contributions to the existing body of knowledge in the fields of blockchain and strategic HRM. Directions for future research have been mentioned. Event-related potential measures have been extensively studied in mental disorders. Among them, P300 amplitude and latency reflect impaired cognitive abilities in major depressive disorder (MDD). The present systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to investigate whether patients with MDD differ from healthy controls (HCs) with respect to P300 amplitude and latency. PubMed and Web of Science databases were searched from inception to 15 January 2023 for case-control studies comparing P300 amplitude and latency in patients with MDD and HCs. The primary outcome was the standard mean difference. A total of 13 articles on P300 amplitude and latency were included in the meta-analysis. Random effect models indicated that MDD patients had decreased P300 amplitude, but similar latency compared to healthy controls. According to regression analysis, the effect size increased with the severity of depression and decreased with the proportion of women in the MDD samples. Funnel plot asymmetry was not significant for publication bias. Decreased P300 amplitude may be a candidate diagnostic biomarker for MDD. However, prospective studies testing P300 amplitude as a monitoring biomarker for MDD are needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to systematically review the current literature and analyze the effects of beetroot-based supplements (BRS) on muscular performance. Randomized controlled trials that assessed the acute or short-term effects of BRS administration on muscular endurance and/or strength in healthy male individuals were retrieved from PubMed, EMBASE, CENTRAL, and Web of Science databases from inception to February 20th, 2023. In addition, we also searched preprint papers in medRxiv.org, bibRxiv.org; thesis and dissertations included in oatd.org; and clinical trials published in ClinicalTrials.gov. Data extraction, risk of bias, and study quality were assessed by 2 authors. Meta-analyses and subgroup analyses of standardized mean differences (SMD) were performed using a random-effects model. A total of 1486 records were identified in the databases and 2 were obtained by manual search in the reference list. Of those, 27 studies attended eligibility criteria and composed this systematic review. BRS administration resulted in a positive effect on muscular endurance (SMD: 0.31; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.10 to 0.51; p < 0.01; n = 16 studies). There was an overall significative effect for muscular strength (SMD: 0.26; 95% CI: 0.03 to 0.48; p < 0.05; n = 18 studies), but a subgroup analysis showed that significant effects were found when strength was measured in a fatigued (SMD: 0.64; 95% CI: 0.25 to 1.03; p < 0.01), but not resting state. BRS administration have a small ergogenic effect on muscular endurance and attenuate the decline in muscular strength in a fatigued state in healthy male individuals. Beetroot-based supplements can improve muscular endurance and attenuates the decline in muscular strength. These effects are attributed to the inorganic nitrate contained in these products, which ranged from 316–985 mg/day, ingested 2–3 hours before exercise. Beetroot-based supplements administration can generate a modest increase in the number of repetitions performed to failure or in exercise time to exhaustion, which may contribute to the performance and optimization of the results of people involved in isotonic exercises (e.g., resistance training). Aim: The lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) is a new device that expands the scope of gastrointestinal intervention under endoscopy. LAMS was initially used for the treatment of pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs), but is increasingly being used off-label. The electrocautery system simplifies the deployment of LAMS, making it more suitable for off-label situations. The short-term results of electrocautery-enhanced lumen-apposing metal stents (ECE-LAMS) are satisfactory; however, the long-term follow-up results must be evaluated. The aim of this article is to review the expanded clinical application of ECE-LAMS, the clinical value of on-label and off-label use, and follow-up results. Methods: After searching in PubMed and Web of Science databases using 'electrocautery-enhanced lumen-apposing metal stents' and 'endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) -guided interventions' as keywords, studies related were compiled and examined. Results: ECE-LAMS are widely used for on-label and off-label situations. The short-term and long-term results of ECE-LAMS are satisfactory, but there are still some studies that do not agree with this viewpoint. Conclusion: The clinical application of ECE-LAMS is relatively safe and reliable but more well-designed randomized trials and prospective studies are needed to evaluate the impact of this technology on therapeutic EUS, to improve the safety and success rate of EUS-guided LAMS implantation, and to expand its application in other indications. The optimal cycle of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) remains controversial. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of three and four cycles of NAC in the treatment of MIBC through a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature. Relevant studies were systematically collected and reviewed in PubMed, Medline, Embase, Web of Science Databases, and the Cochrane Library. Relative ratios (RRs), Hazard ratios (HRs) and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to estimate outcome measures. Studies comparing the pathological response and prognosis of three versus four cycles of NAC for MIBC were included. Five studies were included in this meta-analysis, including 2190 patients, of whom 1016 underwent three cycles of NAC and 1174 underwent four cycles of NAC. All studies were retrospective cohort studies. We found that 4 cycles of NAC had significantly better cancer-specific survival than 3 cycles (HR = 1.31, 95%CI,1.03–1.67, p = 0.029). There was no significant difference in overall survival between patients who received 3 and 4 cycles of chemotherapy (HR = 1.18, 95%CI = 0.83–1.69, p = 0.345). Similarly, no significant difference was observed in pathological objective response (RR = 0.95, 95%CI= 0.81–1.11, p = 0.515) and complete response rates (RR = 0.87, 95%CI = 0.69–1.11, p = 0.256) in MIBC after 3 or 4 cycles of NAC. Three and four cycles of NAC had similar pathological responses and prognosis for MIBC, although the cancer-specific survival rate of four cycles was better than that of three cycles. The pathological response rate and overall survival of three and four cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for muscle-invasive bladder cancer were similar. Four cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy may improve the cancer-specific survival of patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer It is reasonable and feasible for clinicians to use three or four cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The aim of this study was to develop a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production on inclusive education and physical education, focusing on productivity, topics and collaboration. Articles and reviews related to inclusive education and physical education published until 2018 in ERIC, PsycINFO, Scopus, SPORTDiscus and Web of Science databases were included. Regarding results, 664 documents published from 1969 to 2018 were discovered. Documents approaching from sociology (183) and focused on inclusive cultures (63.1%) were the most represented. The average percentage of collaboration was 76.96%. Block was the most productive author while Lieberman achieved the highest number of collaborators. Almost half of the scientific output was published in 13 journals, three of them specifically dedicated to adapted physical activity. In summary, the scientific production on inclusive education and physical education has been mainly published during the last decade, in collaboration, focused on inclusive cultures and playing social sciences a key role for studying it, reflecting the interests and approaches of scholars and their patterns of collaboration. The emergence of inclusive education from the social and political spheres, the misunderstanding of this concept and its low educational consolidation have contributed to an increasing production of studies about inclusive culture. This article aims to identify the main studies that research the relationship between defence spending and economic growth in a region, carried out on a large sample of 162 articles obtained from the Web of Science database, published between 1995 and 2019. By carrying out three analyses, descriptive, scientometric and content, the results have made it possible to identify the most outstanding characteristics of this relationship along with the main schools of thought. Furthermore, these can be grouped into one of the four proposed categories: positive relationship, negative, bidirectional or no relation at all. This article presents an overview that systematically maps the historical development, thematic foci and temporal trends of research in Balkan – Southeast European studies. It uses bibliographic and content analysis as well as other tools to synthesize around 8000 scholarly publications on the Balkans – Southeast Europe that are indexed in the Web of Science databases (SSCI, A&HCI, ESCI, BKCI-SSH). We provide a visual representation of the intellectual historiography and the conceptual content and dynamics of Balkan – Southeast European studies, identifying the most prominent works, the active research themes and the emerging trajectories in the field. The resting full-cycle ratio (RFR), a new non-congestive resting index, is commonly used for physiological evaluations of coronary arteries. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of RFR in detecting coronary artery stenosis with hemodynamic significance using fractional flow reserve (FFR) as the reference standard. Using 'RFR, resting full-cycle ratio' as the search term, we searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases, screening the literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. By applying FFR ≤ 0.80 and RFR ≤ 0.89 as the diagnostic criteria for ischaemia, we analysed the synthetic sensitivity, specificity, and corresponding 95% confidence intervals, then synthesised the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (SROC). Three studies were included in this meta-analysis, comprising 1,084 patients with 1,312 lesions. When we used FFR ≤ 0.80 as the reference standard, the synthesised sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), positive likelihood ratio (LR+), and negative likelihood ratio (LR-) of RFR in the diagnosis of coronary ischaemia were 73%, 81%, 67%, 85%, 3.95, and 0.33, respectively. Besides, the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.8276. Using FFR as the reference standard, RFR has good diagnostic accuracy in detecting coronary ischaemic lesions and may be an effective alternative to FFR in the future, to some extent. Background: Adherence to evidence-based standard treatment guidelines (STGs) enable healthcare providers to deliver consistently appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Irrational use of antimicrobials significantly contributes to antimicrobial resistance in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The best available evidence is needed to guide healthcare providers on adherence to evidence-based implementation of STGs. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the pooled prevalence of adherence to evidence-based implementation of antimicrobial treatment guidelines among prescribers in SSA. Methods: The review followed the JBI methodology for systematic reviews of prevalence data. CINAHL, Embase, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched with no language and publication year limitations. STATA version 17 were used for meta-analysis. The publication bias and heterogeneity were assessed using Egger's test and the I2 statistics. Heterogeneity and publication bias were validated using Duval and Tweedie's nonparametric trim and fill analysis using the random-effect analysis. The summary prevalence and the corresponding 95% confidence interval (CI) of healthcare professionals' compliance with evidence-based implementation of STG were estimated using random effect model. The review protocol has been registered with PROSPERO code CRD42023389011. The PRISMA flow diagram and checklist were used to report studies included, excluded and their corresponding section in the manuscript. Results: Twenty-two studies with a total of 17,017 study participants from 14 countries in sub-Saharan Africa were included. The pooled prevalence of adherence to evidence-based implementation of antimicrobial treatment guidelines in SSA were 45%. The pooled prevalence of the most common clinical indications were respiratory tract (35%) and gastrointestinal infections (18%). Overall prescriptions per wards were inpatients (14,413) and outpatients (12,845). Only 391 prescribers accessed standard treatment guidelines during prescription of antimicrobials. Conclusions: Healthcare professionals' adherence to evidence-based implementation of STG for antimicrobial treatment were low in SSA. Healthcare systems in SSA must make concerted efforts to enhance prescribers access to STGs through optimization of mobile clinical decision support applications. Innovative, informative, and interactive strategies must be in place by the healthcare systems in SSA to empower healthcare providers to make evidence-based clinical decisions informed by the best available evidence and patient preferences, to ultimately improving patient outcomes and promoting appropriate antimicrobial use. This study reviews how empathy and its role are conceptualised in entrepreneurial and engineering literature. Our findings can then be used as a foundation for developing contextual and theoretical models of empathy for entrepreneurial engineering. These models will help create teaching practices and approaches to prepare empathic entrepreneurial engineers. The study deployed a systematic literature review of 40 papers from engineering and entrepreneurship fields, obtained from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The analysis involved three phases. First, a descriptive analysis of research on empathy in entrepreneurship and engineering was completed, followed by a content analysis focusing on definitions and the role of the empathy phenomenon and a co-citation analysis to identify commonly cited authors. The results of this literature review demonstrate different indicators that reflect the current state of empathy research and study trajectories of this phenomenon in the fields of engineering and entrepreneurship. These indicators include the number of papers related to empathy in engineering and entrepreneurship literature by year of publication, definitions of empathy and keywords used in analysed literature as well as list of authors and their area of interests within empathy research. To evaluate current studies to establish and compare the efficacy of traditional and laser acupuncture in reducing the signs and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders (TMD). PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched. Clinical, controlled, and randomized trials written in English and having used traditional or laser acupuncture as therapy for TMD and RDC/TMD or DC/TMD as a diagnostic criterion for TMD were included. Six studies that evaluated the intensity of pain and the level of mouth opening of the patients submitted to acupuncture were selected, and all showed improvement. However, similar results were also observed in the groups treated with occlusal splint and placebo acupuncture. Only one study evaluated laser acupuncture and showed a higher proportion of patients with remission of symptoms in the experimental group. The traditional acupuncture seems to relieve the signs and symptoms of TMD, as well as laser acupuncture when associated with occlusal splint. The importance of the “gut–liver axis” in the pathogenesis of liver diseases has been revealed recently; which promotes the process of developing preventive and therapeutic strategies. However, considering that there are still many challenges in the medical treatment of liver diseases, potential preventive dietary intervention may be a good alternative choice. Plant-based foods have received much attention due to their reported health-promoting effects in targeting multiple pathways involved in the pathogenesis of liver diseases as well as the relative safety for general use. Based on the PubMed and Web of Science databases, this review emphatically summarizes the plant-based foods and their chemical constituents with reported effects to impact the LPS/TLR4 signaling pathway of gut–liver axis of various liver diseases, reflecting their health benefits in preventing/ alleviating liver diseases. Moreover, some plant-based foods with potential gut–liver effects are specifically analyzed from the reported studies and conclusions. This review intends to provide readers an overview of the current progress in the field of this research topic. Fish and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) have been suggested to play a role in improving cancer prognosis. However, results from epidemiological studies remain inconsistent. Here we assess the association between dietary fish and/or omega-3 PUFAs intake and cancer prognosis with meta-analysis of observational studies. A systematic search of related publications was performed using PubMed and Web of Science databases. Hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were extracted and then pooled using a random-effect model. Potential linear and non-linear dose-response relationships were explored using generalized least squares estimation and restricted cubic splines. As a result, 21 cohort studies were included in our analysis. Compared to the lowest category, the highest category of fish intake was associated with a significant lower mortality in patients with ovarian cancer (n = 1, HR = 0.74, 95% CI: 0.57–0.95) and overall cancer (n = 12, HR = 0.87, 95% CI: 0.81–0.94). Marine omega-3 PUFAs intake rather than total omega-3 PUFAs intake showed significant protective effects on survival of overall cancer (n = 8, HR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.71–0.94), in particular prostate cancer (n = 2, HR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.46–0.82). Dose-response meta-analysis indicated a nonlinear and a linear relationship between fish intake, as well as marine omega-3 PUFAs intake, and overall cancer survival, respectively. vitamin D deficiency is a worldwide health problem. However, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in Asian populations is unclear. The aims of our study were to investigate the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its association with different health outcomes in Asia. Searches for studies published from January 2009 to January 2021 were performed in the MeDLiNe (via PubMed), eMBASe, and web of Science databases. This study was registered in the PROSPeRO database (CRD42021229841). in total, 472 studies with 746,564 subjects were included in the meta-analysis. The mean serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) concentration was 49.39 nmol/L; 20.93% of the participants had 25(OH)D levels <25 nmol/L, 22.82% had levels <30 nmol/L, 57.69% had levels <50 nmol/L, and 76.85% had levels <75 nmol/L. This review found that the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in Asia is high. The factors significantly related to vitamin D deficiency were gender, age, altitude, region, and specific diseases (diabetes, cancer, fracture, systemic lupus erythematosus [SLe], fatty liver disease, osteopenia, thyroiditis, anemia, hepatitis, metabolic diseases, and dermatitis). The purpose of this article is to map the state-of-art of entropy, a knowledge domain which has drawn a great interest of researchers from a variety of academic fields in modern times. The journal Entropy, which focuses completely on entropy and is therefore regarded as the most prominent journal, has been purposefully chosen for this study in order to examine the intellectual structure of the field. Data from the Web of Science database for the years 2008 through 2021 were gathered. Scientometric indicators, literature growth, co-authorship, co-citation, keyword co-occurrences, co-word, citation, and bibliographic coupling, are studied using VOS Viewer. Highly cited papers, most prolific authors, countries and institutions are also identified. The results of the study admit that the linear growth trend of entropy articles has increased over the course of the investigation. Highest number of the publications were contributed from China, and the institution that contributed the most articles was the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A cluster analysis of the keywords shows that the research hotspots are primarily focused on "entropy," with the highest frequency and link strength. The high density of the co-words of "entropy," "information," "model" and "Shannon entropy" has also proved them to be the most mature and centralized area of entropy field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The minimum and the adequate number of participants in experiments with maps can vary significantly according to the characteristics of the participants, the maps, and especially the test's purpose. In this sense, the estimation of the adequate number of participants employed in carrying out tests involving map users bases the problem of this research. The study's hypothesis presupposes that it is possible to establish the number of participants for each group of methods of experiments with similar characteristics that group the tests. To this end, to compare terms found in the Web of Science database with those informed in the title, abstract, introduction, and methodology of 200 scientific articles published in the area of cartography, whose subject is related to map users, the research performed an analytical review of the works. As a result, the analysis made it possible to select 85 publications, such as adequacy to the subject of study, according to the methods used. With the increasing number of studies of amylases, it is urgent to comprehensively gasp the future research trend of amylase, which promotes research and applications of amylase. Therefore, we used data-driven analysis method to present the hot points and further trends of amylase, which obtains data from Web of Science database. We comparatively analyzed the research hot points of amylases from several scales: Publication trends, Disciplinary trends, Interdisciplinary research tendency, and Collaborations trends. The results show that the research of amylase has good continuity on research contents, containing applications of amylases, the catalytic models of amylases, and the amylase-related nutrition and metabolism. Amylase research in terms of "Nutrition & dietetics" and "Agriculture" fields may be the further new disciplinary trends. As the most widely used tool for assessing dietary intake, the validity of food frequency questionnaires (FFQs) should be evaluated before application. A comprehensive search of the PubMed and Web of Science databases was conducted for publications from January 2000 to April 1, 2020. Pooled estimates were calculated for correlation coefficients and mean differences for energy and 61 nutrients between FFQs and standard methods. The literature search identified 130 articles that included 21,494 participants. Subgroup analyses according to the number of administrations of the reference method, sample size, administration methods, FFQ items, reference periods, quality of the studies, gender, and regions were also performed. We conducted a meta-analysis by summarizing the available evidence to comprehensively assess the validity of FFQs stratified by the reference method type (24-hour recall (24HRs) and food records (FRs). We also performed subgroup analyses to examine the impact on the final summary estimates. After a meta-analysis of the FFQs' validity correlation coefficients of the included studies, this study showed that the range (median) of the validity coefficients of the 24HRs as reference methods was 0.220–0.770 (0.416), and for the FRs, it was 0.173–0.735 (0.373), which indicated that FFQs were suitable to assess the overall dietary intake in nutritional epidemiological studies. The results of the subgroup analysis showed that the number of administrations of the reference method, administration mode, number of items, reference periods, sample size, and gender mainly affected the validity correlation of FFQs. To address a shortcoming in the current state of scholarly inquiry into brand stories from a strategic management perspective, a comprehensive bibliographic analysis is conducted on all papers in the journals included in the Web of Science database on brand stories. We employ the VOSViewer tool to complete our bibliographic analysis. VOSViewer allows for graphical representations of network maps. Using this tool, issues such as co-authorship, co-occurrence of keywords, co-citations, citations, and country and institutional origins are explored. This work offers a foundation for the scope of strategic approaches to brand storytelling by investigating the state of research to find areas of opportunity for scholars. We elucidate the existing state of scholarly research on the brand story conversation, offer a procedural overview of the VOSViewer tool, provide managerial implications of this work, discuss limitations of our study and suggest areas for future research. A cited reference search on MATLAB in the Web of Science database retrieved 6,873 citing articles from 2000 to 2020. These articles were analyzed by research areas to reveal the use of MATLAB in unexpected subject-specific disciplines. The information visualisation software, CiteSpace, was used to study relevant data in the field of port logistics from 2000 to 2020 in the Web of Science database, including literature, keywords, co-cited literature, etc., to generate visual knowledge mapping. The number of publications has increased annually, and the growth rate has accelerated since 2015. The country with the largest number of papers is China, followed by the United States and South Korea. China's Shanghai Maritime University has the most published literature. The productive author (with the most published papers so far) is Jasmine Siu Lee Lam. Keywords, such as modelg, management, systems, performance, transport, supply chain, and optimization are the most frequently used. There is controversy about the association between vitamin D and cardiovascular disease (CVD). This article aims to explore the association of serum 25-hydroxyvitaminD (25 OHD) with the risk of CVD. PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science database, OVID, and Cochrane Library databases (last updated in August 2022) were systematically searched. The relationship between 25OHD and the risk of CVD was assessed by using the 95% confidence intervals (CI) and hazard ratio (HR). The effect model was selected by the size of heterogeneity. The meta-analysis included 40 cohort studies that contained 652352 samples. The pooled results showed that a decreased level of 25OHD was associated with an increased relative risk of total CVD events (HR = 1.35, 95% CI: 1.26–1.43). Furthermore, the results also showed that a decreased circulating 25OHD level was associated with an increased mortality of CVD (HR = 1.43, 95% CI: 1.30–1.57) and incidence of CVD (HR = 1.26, 95% CI: 1.16–1.36), especially an increased risk of heart failure (HF) (HR = 1.38, 95% CI: 1.2–1.6), myocardial infarction (MI) (HR = 1.28, 95% CI: 1.13–1.44) and coronary heart disease (CHD) (HR = 1.28, 95% CI: 1.1–1.49). The current meta-analysis shows that reduced serum 25OHD concentrations is not only associated with increased total cardiovascular events and cardiovascular mortality, but also with increased risk of HF, MI, and CHD. Terrorism research increased markedly after the attacks of September 11, 2001 (9/11). How has research on this subject changed in the past twenty years? I examine data on more than 6,000 academic articles on terrorism between 1970 and 2019, and the more than 1,500 authors of multiple articles. This information comes from every article in the Web of Science database with "terrorism" or "terrorist" in the title. Several primary findings emerge. (1) The volume of terrorism research surged to record highs after 9/11, and has not decreased since. (2) Psychologists became the most numerous terrorism researchers after 9/11, displacing political scientists for about ten years. Research on health or medical aspects of terrorism jumped after 9/11. (3) The proportion of female scholars increased substantially after 9/11, outpacing the rise in academia generally. This is in part because scholars new to the field were often from disciplines with relatively high percentages of women, such as psychology. (4) Terrorism scholars were mostly based in North America or Western Europe before 9/11, but the number of countries with scholars publishing terrorism research expanded considerably after 2001. Ibero-American researchers show an increasing number of studies on entrepreneurship and innovation research. This article analyzes the journals and universities that published research on the discipline developed by Ibero-American authors between 1986 and 2015. The work uses the Web of Science database and provides several bibliometric indicators. The results show that the most outstanding researchers of the region come mainly from Spain and Portugal. In particular, Spanish researchers are the most productive and influential authors in the region. A small group of researchers from Chile, Argentina, and Mexico are also very influential. Cyclin-dependent kinase 12 (CDK12) mutation has been shown to be associated with the prognosis and clinicopathological characteristics of various tumors. The aim of this meta-analysis was to investigate the role of mutations in prostate cancer (PCa). PubMed/Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science database were searched for relevant articles. Meta-analysis was performed by using RevMan5.3 software, and the quality of the included literature was evaluated according to the Newcastle–Ottawa scale (NOS). A total of 13 studies comprising 5182 participants were enrolled in this meta-analysis. The frequency of CDK12 mutation in PCa was 7.26%. CDK12 mutation was significantly correlated with poor OS/PFS and had a shorter time to progress to CRPC. CDK12 mutant was associated with high-grade Gleason scores, while no relationships were found among CDK12 mutant, age, and the PSA level at diagnosis. This meta-analysis indicates that patients with CDK12 mutation have poor prognosis in PCa. CDK12 may be used as a biomarker for molecular subtype and a potential therapeutic target of PCa. The abundance of research in the field of sustainable marketing management necessitates a comprehensively integrated knowledge about the topic. This study aims to map all scientific publications related to sustainability marketing from a firm perspective as collected from the Web of Science database (1900–2021), and subsequently identify potential future research directions. The bibliometric method, particularly bibliographic coupling, is used to describe the evolution over time of research on the topic. Also, the networks and intellectual structures of sustainability marketing management research are visualized and analyzed by VOS viewer algorithm/software. Based on a final list of 606 selected journal articles extracted from the initial 777,577 retrieved items, the bibliographic coupling analysis reveals six clusters within the research field: "sustainable green marketing and design: system perspective," "sustainability assessment and firm performance," "social sustainability in the dynamic model and mechanism," "strategic CSR, corporate sustainability integration and performance," "impacts of social and environmental sustainability on economic sustainability," and "environmental sustainability and green management for multinational enterprises." This study provides insight into the most substantive up-to-date contributions to the field, herein referred to as state-of-the-art thematic topics in sustainability marketing management, thus stipulating fruitful future research avenues for a more developed research community. Using bibliometric methods, this report analysed the volumes of global forest research and research collaboration between researchers, institutes and countries during the period 2010–2019. The keywords used in the bibliometric search resulted in a good match with the publication lists of three major Finnish forest research organisations. The final corpus of "forest" publications consisted of 355,000 articles, proceeding papers, reviews, books, book chapters and letters listed in the Web of Science database. During 2010–2019, the volume of Finnish publications in forest sciences have increased and the share of internationally collaborative papers has also grown. However, the international position of Finnish and Nordic forest research is slowly declining, owing to the modest growth in publishing, compared to fast-growing countries like China and Russia. When comparing Finnish and Swedish research organisations, those from Sweden were more internationally oriented. In both countries, the five top institutes produced more than three quarters of their country's respective publications. Analyses based on bibliometric data used in this study reveal the status regarding publication output and trends. Lean Supply Chain Management is an emerging research field in Operations Management that is attracting growing attention from researchers and practitioners. This paper aims to present a comprehensive analysis of the Lean Supply Chain Management literature to understand the influence, basic research characteristics, interrelationships, and productivity of the research in this field. The present study uses BibExcel and VOSviewer software to conduct thorough bibliometric and network analyses of 715 papers published in the Web of Science database over the period 1996-2020. The use of bibliometric methods has enabled the identification of current and emerging research clusters to detect some key research topics, interrelations, and collaboration patterns. Moreover, this analysis has enabled to draw numerous conclusions and propose a roadmap for future research in the field. Fibrosis is a common pathological feature of most types of chronic liver injuries. There is no specific treatment for liver fibrosis at present. The liver microenvironment, which fosters the survival and activity of liver cells, plays an important role in maintaining the normal structure and physiological function of the liver. The aim of this review is to deeply understand the role of the liver microenvironment in the dynamic and complicated development of liver fibrosis. After searching in Elsevier ScienceDirect, PubMed and Web of Science databases using 'liver fibrosis' and 'microenvironment' as keywords, studies related to microenvironment in liver fibrosis was compiled and examined. The homeostasis of the liver microenvironment is disrupted during the development of liver fibrosis, affecting liver cell function, causing various types of cell reactions, and changing the cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, eventually affecting fibrosis formation. Liver microenvironment may be important for identifying potential therapeutic targets, and restoring microenvironment homeostasis may be an important strategy for promoting the reversal of liver fibrosis. The pathophysiology of fibromyalgia (FM) is related to central sensitisation (CS) to pain. Algometry allows assessing CS based on dynamic evoked pain. However, current algometrýs protocols require optimising, unifying and updating. 1) identify the dynamic pain measures used most frequently to effectively assess CS processes in FM, and 2) consider the future of the algometry assessing CS in these patients. Cochrane Collaboration guidelines and PRISMA statements were followed. The protocol was registered in PROSPERO database (ID: CRD42021270135). The selected articles were evaluated using the Cochrane risk of bias (ROB) assessment tool. The PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were searched. Thirty-four studies were selected, including measures such as temporal summation of pain (TSP), aftersensations (AS), spatial summation of pain (SSP), the noxious flexion reflex (NFR) threshold, conditioned pain modulation (CPM), cutaneous silent period (CuSP), and slowly repeated evoked pain (SREP); and evoked pain combined with neuroimaging. Each measure offered various advantages and limitations. According to ROB, 28 studies were of low quality, 3 of moderate quality, and 3 of high quality. Several pain indicators have been demonstrated to successfully examine CS involvement in FM in the last years. Algometry, especially when it involves diverse body sites and tissues, might provide further insight into (1) the evaluation of psychological factors known to influence pain experience, (2) new dynamic pain indicators, and (3) the simultaneous use of certain neuroimaging techniques. Further research clarifying the mechanisms underlying some of these measures, and homogenisation and optimisation of the algometrýs protocols, are needed. Algometry allows for assessing Central Sensitisation by applying dynamic evoked pain. The future of algometry could relapse in its combination with neuroimaging. Teachers are largely affected by OS, during their most productive years, leading to catastrophic physical, psychological, and economic burden on themselves, families and society by large. Teachers are responsible for producing the workforce of any nation, and thus have a major impact indirectly on the economy and health of a nation. There are several individual-level interventions conducted to reduce occupational stress (OS) among teachers. This study was conducted to systematically review and conduct a meta-analysis of the effectiveness of individual-level interventions to reduce occupational stress among teachers. This review was registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO; Registration ID: CRD42020149277) and followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, PsycInfo, and Web of Science databases were searched using predefined search strategies covering the eligibility criteria. Studies were selected in four rounds. Risk of bias assessments were conducted with GRADE recommendations and ROBINS-I criteria for randomized and non-randomized interventions, respectively. Study selection, data extraction and bias assessments were performed independ ently by two reviewers with a third reviewer to resolve conflicts. Narrative synthesis of the findings were also performed. Clinical, methodological, and statistical heterogeneity assessments were conduct ed. Meta-analyses were performed with Review Manager 5.3 software using the "generic inverse variance method" with mean difference as the pooled estimate. Sensitivity analyses of the findings was also performed. At the initial search, 293 articles were identified and 29 subsequently selected for synthesis of findings. The findings of the meta-analysis indicated that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and relaxation interventions significantly reduced OS among teachers with an effect size of 6.2 (p < 0.001). Effect size was highest for combined CBT and relaxation interventions which was 6.57 (p < 0.001). Relaxation interventions only and CBT interventions only had effect sizes of 3.35 (p < 0.001) and 3.12 (p = 0.002) respectively. In sensitivity analysis, after removing low-quality studies, CBT interventions only, combined CBT and relaxation interventions and overall effect size were 6.31 (p < 0.00001), 17.36 (p < 0.00001), and 14.55 (p < 0.00001), respectively, ie, substantially greater than with low-quality studies included. Inconclusion, CBT and relaxation interventions reduce OS among teachers and it's most effective when those individual-level interventions are conducted together. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article aims to identify the factors which promote research activity on banking crises in the cross-country framework during the period 2014–2020. Building on the population-adjusted country-level publication data from the Scopus and Web of Science databases and applying Bayesian model averaging (BMA) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), we conduct an open search for such factors out of 23 candidate predictors. A higher level of bank concentration appears to be the most significant factor motivating research on banking crises. It is robust with respect to both bibliographic databases and variable selection methods used. Based only on the Scopus data, GDP per capita and the peak ratio of non-performing loans to total loans during the latest banking crisis experienced by a country also increase the number of published studies on banking crises. The purpose of this research was to identify, through a systematic review of the literature, the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of the production and commercialization of cultured meat, as well as to analyze the challenges to be faced by this new food biotechnology. For this, we analyzed 194 manuscripts published in the Scopus and Web of Science databases that dealt with cultured meat under the perspective of cellular agriculture, employing several nomenclatures. The results indicate that there is still no consensus in the literature about the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of cultured meat, which constitutes an emerging, multifaceted, and encouraging field of study, and a series of inferences have been made that provide insights into the knowledge analyzed. Finally, we propose an analytical model that combines sub-scenarios from which it becomes possible to understand and anticipate the direction of this new food biotechnology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To investigate in the literature the current knowledge about the effects of parenteral nutrition supplemented with glutamine in surgical patients. This is a review, carried out by searching for original articles, published in the last five years, in English and Portuguese, indexed in the PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science databases. 92 articles were retrieved, of which 10.8% (n = 10) were included in this review, for full text reading. It was observed that of the studies compiled, 80% (n = 8) demonstrated improvement in the number of surgical patients in response to glutamine supplementation associated with Parenteral Nutrition Therapy (PNT). Only two studies observed an increase in plasma glutamine levels after the supplementation period. 10% (n = 1) of the findings pointed to a greater effectiveness of supplementation of combined immunomodulators (polyunsaturated fatty acids and glutamine), in surgical patients aged 40 to 68 years, and that 20% (n = 2) of the studies did not indicate relevant results. The findings raised suggest that glutamine supplementation seems to have positive effects on the clinical and metabolic condition of patients in the postoperative period, with emphasis on reducing the occurrence of complications and the time of PNT.
