- Abstract
In this study, we employed high-throughput sequencing data to assemble the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of the White-tufted Sunbeam ( Aglaeactis castelnaudii ). The total length of the mitogenome was found to be 16,872 base pairs (bp), containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 1 control region. The nucleotide composition was as follows: A 30.6%, T 24.0%, C 31.2%, and G 14.2%, resulting in a GC content of 45.4%. Phylogenetic analysis, utilizing the concatenation of the 13 mitochondrial PCGs, indicated a closer evolutionary relationship between the genus Aglaeactis and the genus Coeligena compared to other genera within the family Trochilidae investigated in this study. 3. The complete mitochondrial genome of Pachylophus rufescen s (de Meijere, 1904) (Diptera:Chloropidae).

- Abstract
Pachylophus belongs to the subfamily Chloropinae, the second most diverse subfamily of Chloropidae. However, there have been few complete mitochondrial genomes of Chloropinae reported in the public database. Consequently, we sequenced and annotated the complete mitochondrial genome of Pachylophus rufescens (de Meijere, 1904). The whole mitochondrial genome is 17, 926 bp in length, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNAs (tRNAs) and two ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs). The mitochondrial genome exhibits high A + T bias, accounting for 79.7% of its entirety. All PCGs start with ATN codon and end with TAN or incomplete stop codon TA or single T. The Maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree revealed a close relationship between Pachylophus and Cetema . 4. The complete mitochondrial genome of the shield-faced leaf-nosed bat from Yunnan Province in China.

- Abstract
In this study, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of the shield-faced leaf-nosed bat ( Hipposideros lylei Thomas, 1914) using the Illumina platform. The mitochondrial genome of H. lylei is 16,856 bp in length, encoding 37 genes, which include 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, one replication start, and one non-coding control region (D-loop) of 417 bp in length. It has a G + C content of 42.0%, lower than the A + T content, indicating an obvious AT base preference. 5. Complete mitochondrial genome of Acanthochitona defilippii (Polyplacophora: Chitonida) from South Korea.

- Abstract
The chiton (Polyplacophora) occupies a significant position in molluscan evolutionary history as one of the most primitive groups within the phylum Mollusca. Acanthochitona defilippii (Tapparone-Canefri 1874) (Chitonida: Acanthochitonidae) is a commonly found intertidal chiton species in South Korea. In this study, we characterized the complete mitochondrial genome of A. defilippii (14,999 bp long), comprising 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and an A + T rich region (166 bp). The base composition is as follows: 31.82% for A, 11.63% for C, 16.69% for G, and 39.86% for T. We reconstructed a maximum likelihood (ML) tree to elucidate phylogenetic relationships among the eight chitonid families using the nucleotide sequences of all PCGs. The ML tree revealed that A. defilippii clustered with Acanthochitona avicula (BP 100) within the family Acanthochitonidae. Acanthochitonidae formed a sister group with Mopaliidae. - Abstract
For an ongoing systematic study of Korean Vespidae, we analyzed the complete mitochondrial genome of a social wasp, Vespula rufa (Linnaeus 1758), from the South Korea. The mitogenome is 17,521 bp in length, comprising 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and two ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes. The nucleotide composition is 40.5% adenines, 43.0% thymines, 6.0% guanines, and 10.5% cytosines. The GC content is 16.5%. A maximum-likelihood analysis was conducted to understand phylogenetic relationships, based on 13 complete mitogenome sequences of Vespinae species. We recognized that V. rufa is being placed basal within the genus Vespula . 7. The complete mitochondrial genome of Mya japonica (Jay, 1857 Myida:myidae).

- Abstract
The soft-shell clam Mya japonica (Jay, 1857) is a commercially important fishery resource. In this study, we identified the complete mitochondrial genome of M. japonica and performed a phylogenetic analysis to explore its genetic relationship with Mya arenaria . The genome is 21,396 bp in length and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 23 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and 5 D-Loop control regions. The atp8 gene was annotated in Myidae for the first time. Notably, the genome contains an additional trnM , consistent with M. arenaria . The length of the cox2 gene is 1,947 bp, which is 513 bp longer than that in M. arenaria . Its base composition is 29.14% A, 37.26% T, 10.89% C, and 22.71% G. Phylogenetic analysis based on 12 PCGs and 2 rRNAs indicates that M. japonica and M. arenaria form a sister group. - Abstract
Singerocybe alboinfundibuliformis (Seok et al.) Yang, Qin & Takah 2014 is an edible mushroom distributed in several East or Southeast Asian countries. Herein, we report the mitochondrial genome of S. alboinfundibuliformis based on Illumina sequencing data. The overall length of the mitochondrial genome is 64,279 bp, with a GC content of 29.0%. It contains 14 typical protein-coding genes, 27 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and 13 intergenic ORFs. Most of these genes (39 out of 56) are transcribed at the forward strand, and few (17 out of 56) are transcribed at the reverse strand. Among these genes, only the rnl gene is invaded by an intron, and all other genes are intron-free. Phylogenetic analysis based on mitochondrial amino acid sequences supports the phylogenetic position of S. alboinfundibuliformis in Clitocybaceae, being close to Lepista sordida (Schumach.) Singer 1951. Exoristobia philippinensis (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) is a worldwide parasitic wasp. This work presents the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of E. philippinensis for the first time. The complete mitochondrial genome of E. philippinensis was sequenced and annotated, which was 15,751 bp in length, and encoded 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs). All 13 PCGs were initiated by the ATN (ATG, ATT, and ATA) codon, terminated with the stop codon TAA except for ND1 which ends with TAG. 10. Analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Hipposideros pratti .

- Abstract
In order to explore the characteristics of the mitochondrial genome sequence of Pratt's leaf-nosed bat ( Hipposideros pratti Thomas 1891) and understand their phylogenetic status in Chiroptera, this study determined the mitochondrial genome sequences of H. pratti from five regions in China using high-throughput sequencing technology, sequence assembly, and genome annotation. The results showed that these sequences contained 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 1 non-coding region, all exhibiting a significant AT bias. Based on the phylogenetic tree constructed using 13 protein-coding genes from 15 Chiroptera species, the study found that H. pratti from the five regions clustered together, and then clustered with H. lylei into a single clade. Meanwhile, H. pratti from Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong regions of China showed closer genetic relationships, while H. pratti from Yunnan and Henan regions of China exhibited closer genetic relationships. 11. First complete mitochondrial genome of Pselliophora (Diptera, Tipulidae): genome description and phylogenetic implications.

- Abstract
Pselliophora is widely distributed in Eurasia and China. To explore the characteristics of the mitogenome of Pselliophora and reveal phylogenetic relationships, the mitogenome of Pselliophora bifascipennis Brunetti, 1911 was sequenced and annotated. This is the first complete mitochondrial genome in this genus. Its mitogenome is 15821 bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA and 2 rRNA genes. Nucleotide compositions of its whole mitogenome are 39.09% for A, 38.49% for T, 13.42% for C, and 9.01% for G. Consistent with previous observations of Tipulidae species, the mitogenome of Pselliophora bifascipennis is highly conserved in gene size, organization and codon usage, and secondary structures of tRNAs. Most tRNAs have the typical clover-leaf structure. The control region is 1006 bp long with an A + T content of 92.7%. Phylogenetic tree analysis using the sequences of the mitochondrial genomes of Pselliophora bifascipennis and other Tipulidae species showed that Pselliophora bifascipennis is closely related to Tanyptera hebeiensis . These two species are grouped on the same branch, which is in accordance with the traditional morphological classification. Holocephali is a subclass of chondrichthyans with ample geographic distribution in marine ecosystems. Holocephalan species are organized into three families: Callorhinchidae, Chimaeridae, and Rhinochimaeridae. Despite the critical ecological and evolutionary importance, genomic information from holocephalans is still scarce, particularly from rhinochimaerids. The present study provides the first complete mitogenome of the Atlantic longnose chimaera Rhinochimaera atlantica (Holt & Byrne, 1909). The whole mitogenome was sequenced from an R. atlantica specimen, collected on the Porcupine Bank (NE Atlantic), by Illumina high-throughput sequencing. The R. atlantica mitogenome has 17,852 nucleotides with 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA, and two ribosomal RNA genes. Nine of these genes are in the complementary strand. This mitogenome has a GC content of 41.5% and an AT content of 58.5%. The phylogenetic reconstruction provided here, using all the available complete and partial Holocephali mitogenomes, places R. atlantica in the Rhinochimaeridae family, as expected. 13. Characterization of the complete mitochondrial genome of Mucor indicus Lendn. 1930 (Mucorales: Mucoraceae), isolated from the wine fermentation system.

Mucor indicus Lendn. 1930 has been widely used in food fermentation; however, its mitochondrial genome characteristics are not well understood. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of M. indicus was obtained, which was 61,400 bp in length with a GC content of 33%. The M. indicus mitochondrial genome was found to contain 14 core protein-coding genes, four free-standing ORFs, 18 intronic ORFs, 26 tRNAs, and two rRNA genes. Phylogenetic trees were generated for 25 early-differentiated fungi using the Bayesian inference (BI) method, which demonstrated that M. indicus is closely related to Mucor piriformis . 14. The mitochondrial genome of Homoneura picta (Diptera: Lauxaniidae) and its phylogenetic analysis.

Homoneura picta belongs to the Homoneurinae subfamily of Lauxaniidae, and it is widely distributed and common in China. This study reports the newly sequenced mitochondrial genome of H. picta . The sequence is 15,469 bp long and contains 37 genes (13 protein-coding, 22 tRNA, and 2 rRNA genes) and a control region. The overall base composition is 38.4% for A, 37.7% for T, 14.1% for C, and 9.8% for G, with a bias toward A + T (76.1%). Phylogenetic analysis show that Homoneura is a sister genus of Cestrotus . We have successfully sequenced the mitochondrial genome of H. picta , which can be useful in investigating the phylogenetic status of Homoneurinae. 15. Complete mitochondrial genome of the European common barnacle Perforatus perforatus Bruguière, 1789 (balanomorpha: balanidae).

- Abstract
This study is the first to sequence the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Perforatus perforatus Bruguière, 1789 (Balanomorpha: Balanidae). The 15,536-bp long P. perforatus mitogenome contained a typical set of animal mitochondrial genes, along with one control region. The P. perforatus mitogenome had an inverted gene block ( trnP - ND4L - ND4 - trnH - ND5 - trnF ) between trnS (gct) and trnT . This inverted gene block had been detected six species in three subfamilies of the Balanidae family (Balaninae, Acastinae and Megabalaninae), but our results show that it is also present in Concavinae, in which P. perforatus is included. 16. New mitogenomes of Runcinidae and Facelinidae: two understudied heterobranch families (Mollusca: Gastropoda).

Here, we present the mitochondrial sequences of two sea slugs (Heterobranchia): Runcina aurata and Facelina auriculata , the latter being the type species of the family. The mitochondrial genomes are 14,282 and 14,171bp in length, respectively, with a complete set of 13 PCGs, 2 rRNAs, and 22 tRNAs. None of the mitogenomes show gene reorganization, keeping the standard mitogenomic structure of Heterobranchia. 17. The complete mitochondrial genome of bamboo shrimp Atyopsis moluccensis (Atyidae, Decapoda).

- Abstract
Atyopsis moluccensis , belonging to the family Atyidae, is one of the popular species in aquarium industry. Here, we sequenced the mitochondrial genome of A. moluccensis . The mitogenome of A. moluccensis is 15,933 bp in length, consisting 22 transfer RNAs, 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), and two ribosomal RNAs. The composition of A. moluccensis mitogenome is 33.77% for A, 13.81% for G, 28.74% for T, and 23.68% for C. The A + T content of the heavy-strand was 62.51%. Except ND5, most of the PCGs had ATN as the start codon. Only COX2 and ND4 were stopped by incomplete stop codon. The phylogenetic relationship was reconstructed with 16 shrimp from six genera of family Atyidae, which revealed that A. moluccensis and A. gabonensis clustered together and species of the same genus were grouped together in a clade. The worm snail Thylacodes adamsii (Mörch, 1859) (Littorinimorpha: Vermetidae) is a sessile gastropod that mainly inhabits rocky shores along the warm temperate to tropical ocean. Herein, the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of T. adamsii from South Korea was characterized. The genome is 14,913 bp in length and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes. The genome organization and base composition of T. adamsii are similar to those of other vermetids. A phylogenetic tree was reconstructed using maximum likelihood based on the nucleotide sequences of the 13 PCGs; this tree supported the monophyly of Vermetidae. The giant triton snail, Charonia tritonis (Linnaeus, 1758), crucial for coral reef ecosystems as a primary predator of the crown-of-thorns sea star, is experiencing a significant decline due to overfishing for its ornamental shell, underscoring the urgent need for conservation and deeper understanding of its role within marine biodiversity. This study presents the first complete mitogenome sequence of C. tritonis . Spanning 15,346 bp, the C. tritonis mitogenome comprises 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis of 88 Littorinimorpha mitogenomes confirms C. tritonis and C. lampas are grouped together within the family Charoniidae as a sister group to the remaining Tonnoidea families. - Abstract
Saccharomycopsis fibuligera (Lindner) Klocker 1907 is frequently employed in the fermentation of metabolites such as citric acid, ethanol, mannitol, and pyruvate. Its heat tolerance and alcohol-producing capabilities during fermentation make it a desirable option for bread and wine production. To date, the mitochondrial genome of S. fibuligera has not been sequenced. In the present study, we obtained the full mitochondrial genome of S. fibuligera , which is 57,302 bp long and has a GC content of 24.40%. This genome contained 14 core protein-coding genes, 3 independent ORFs, 21 intronic ORFs, 25 tRNAs, and 2 rRNA genes. By utilizing the Bayesian inference phylogenetic method, we constructed phylogenetic trees for 24 Saccharomycotina fungi, which indicated that S. fibuligera is closely related to S. capsularis ., Competing Interests: All authors have read and approved the final manuscript. - Abstract
The present study firstly reported a complete mitochondrial genome of Minois paupera (Alphéraky, 1888), a Satyrinae species endemic to China. This mitogenome is circular, 15,213 bp in length, and consists of 37 typical mitochondrial genes, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNAs, and two rRNAs. The phylogenetic position was inferred using 31 previously published complete mitogenomes, and the results reveal that M. paupera is the most closely related to Minois dryas . - Abstract
The ground beetle Synuchus nitidus (Motschulsky, 1861) (Carabidae: Harpalinae: Sphodrini) is one of the most common species in the forests of South Korea, which has the potential to be utilized as an environmental indicator. Here, we characterized the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of S. nitidus , which is the first in the harpaline tribe Sphodrini. Its genome is 16,392 bp in length and composed of 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and an A + T rich region. In addition, we reconstructed a maximum likelihood tree to elucidate the phylogenetic position of Sphodrini among the seven harpaline tribes using nucleotide sequences of the 13 PCGs. The ML tree supported a monophyletic clade of the subfamily Harpalinae and showed a close relationship between Sphodrini and Lebinii with a low bootstrap value. - Abstract
Meroplius fukuharai is an important sanitary and ecological resource insect. We sequenced and annotated the mitogenome of Meroplius fukuharai which is the first representative of the genus Meroplius with nearly complete mitochondrial data. This mitogenome is 14,803 bp long, which consists of 22 transfer RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), and two ribosomal RNA genes. All genes have a conservational arrangement with other published species of Sepsidae. Rhizopus microsporus Tiegh. 1875 is widely used in a variety of industries, such as brewing, wine making, baking, and medicine production, as it has the capability to break down proteins and generate surface-active agents. To date, the mitochondrial genome features of early evolved fungi from the Rhizopus genus have not been extensively studied. Our research obtained a full mitochondrial genome of R. microsporus species, which was 43,837 bp in size and had a GC content of 24.93%. This genome contained 14 core protein-coding genes, 3 independent ORFs, 7 intronic ORFs, 24 tRNAs, and 2 rRNA genes. Through the use of the BI phylogenetic inference method, we were able to create phylogenetic trees for 25 early differentiation fungi which strongly supported the major clades; this indicated that R. microsporus is most closely related to Rhizopus oryzae ., Competing Interests: All authors have read and approved the final manuscript. The complete mitochondrial genome of Alboglossiphonia lata (basionym: Glossiphonia lata ), sourced from a biodiversity hotspot of China, has been determined and reported in this study. It was 15,236 bp in length and consisted of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes and three control regions. The mitogenome was deposited GenBank under the accession number PP165800. A. lata and other species within the Glossiphoniidae family were clustered together with high bootstrap values. Tylopilus brunneirubens is a common species in southern China. It is known for brown to dark brown pileus, white context turning reddish brown or rust brown when touched and distinct reticulation on the upper stem. However, little is known about its mitochondrial genome and its relationship with other boletes. Our analysis revealed that the mitochondrial genome of this species is a circular DNA molecule that spans 32,389 bp. It contains 15 core protein-coding genes, 24 transfer RNA genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes. The base composition of the mitochondrial genome is as follows: A (37.20%), C (11.32%), G (12.48%), and T (39.00%), with a GC content of 23.80%. - Abstract
Neuroctenus taiwanicus Kormilev, 1955 is a flat-bodied and enigmatic bug that was first discovered on the island of Taiwan, China. In this study, the whole mitochondrial genome of N. taiwanicus was sequenced and annotated for the first time, and its genomic data were uploaded to Genbank feedback number OR675057. The mitochondrial genome of N. taiwanicus is 15,340 bp in length, a typical circular DNA encoding 37 genes and a control region with 68.4% A + T content. The phylogeny reveals the taxonomic status of N. taiwanicus , which is most closely related to N. yunnanensis , and demonstrates the sister relationship among Neuroctenus , Mezira , and Brachyrhynchus . The African palm weevil ( Rhynchophorus phoenicis ) is a species of high economic importance in sub-Saharan Africa, both as a culturally traditional edible insect and as an agricultural pest. Here we provide a de novo assembly and annotation for the mitochondrial genome of this species from whole-genome sequence data. The mitogenome was AT-rich and 17,161bp in length, containing 13 protein-coding, 22 transfer RNA, and two ribosomal RNA genes. Phylogenetic reconstruction showed the African palm weevil to cluster within the genus Rhynchophorus and the weevil tribe Rhynchophorini. We conducted an analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome of Rhipicephalus haemaphysaloides , a tick species known for transmitting various bacteria and viruses. The mitochondrial genome of R. haemaphysaloides has a length of 14,739 bp and consists of 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and 2 control regions. By utilizing the maximum likelihood method, we established the phylogenetic relationship among R. haemaphysaloides and other species within the Rhipicephalus genus of the Ixodidae family. This analysis revealed that R. haemaphysaloides and other Rhipicephalus species belong to the same clade, further affirming the taxonomic placement of R. haemaphysaloides within the Rhipicephalus genus. Furthermore, we compared the mitochondrial genomes of R. haemaphysaloides isolates from Changning, Yunnan Province, China, with isolates from Yangxin, Ganzhou, and Yingtan, Hubei Province, China. Pseudanthias pascalus (Jordan & Tanaka, 1927) (Perciformes: Serranidae) is a species of brightly colored saltwater fish found in tropical coastal reef communities. In this study, we reported the sequence of mitochondrial DNA from P. pascalus . The accession number is OP611422. The complete mitochondrial genome of P. pascalus was 16,863 bp in length, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 12S and 16S rRNAs, 22 tRNA genes, and one displacement loop (D-loop). Most PCGs had ATG-start codons and TAA-end codons. The A + T contents were 54.61%. Phylogenetic analysis showed that P. pascalus is most closely related to Pseudanthias huchtii . We sequenced the entire mitochondrial genome of P. pascalus , providing improved marker identification information for the classification of the family and species conservation. Libelloides sibiricus (Eversmann, 1850) is widely distributed in China, Korea and eastern Russia. To date, few studies have been conducted on this species, with the exception of morphological taxonomy studies. In this study, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Libelloides sibiricus , which is 15,811 bp in length, with an overall A + T content of 74.8%, encoding 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, and a control region. The gene arrangement and components of L. sibiricus are identical to those of most other Neuropteran species. TAA is utilized as the termination codon for most PCGs and TAG for nd1 , however, nd6 and atp6 used the incomplete termination codon TA- and cox1 , cox2 , nd5 , cytb had termination codons consisting of only T-. In addition, we selected all known 59 species of Neuroptera from NCBI, and used Sialis hamata , Sialis melania , Sialis longidens and Sialis jiyuni (Megaloptera: Sialidae) as the outgroup. The mitogenome of Euphausia crystallorophias collected from the Ross Sea Region Marine Protected Area (RSR MPA) is described for the first time. The assembled mitogenome was 17,291 bp in length and consisted of two ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs), 22 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), and noncoding regions, all of which were identical to those of other euphausiid species. The most common start codon for the 13 PCGs was ATG, and the most common termination codon was TAA. The overall G + C content was 33.2% in the heavy strand. Euphausia crystallorophias was sister to E. superba in the phylogenetic analysis. Phymateus saxosus is a member of the family Pyrgomorphidae, Orthoptera. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of P. saxosus was determined and analyzed. Assembled mitogenome sequence of P. saxosus is 15,672 bp in size, containing 37 genes and a control region. The gene orientation and arrangement of P. saxosus are identical to other species in the Pyrgomorphoidea family. The overall nucleotide composition is as follows: A (43.6%) > T (30.2%) > C (16.1%) > G (10.1%). Phylogenetic analysis suggested that P. saxosus forms sister groups with P. morbillosus , and the monophyly of Pyrgomorphidae is supported. Meller's mongoose ( Rhynchogale melleri ) is a member of the family Herpestidae (Mammalia: Carnivora) and the sole species in the genus Rhynchogale . It is primarily found in savannas and open woodlands of eastern sub-Saharan Africa. Here, we report the first complete mitochondrial genome for a female Meller's mongoose collected in Tanzania, generated using a genome-skimming approach. The species Monoserius pennarius (Linnaeus, 1758), is particularly abundant in the tropical Indo-West Pacific east of Sri Lanka, yet very limited genetic information exists for this species. Here, we report the assembled-linear mitochondrial genome of M. pennarius collected from the East China Sea. The 15,197 bp mitogenome contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes. Notably, the gene order in this mitogenome differs from that of other hydrozoans within the same taxonomic order. Phylogenetic analysis, based on 13 concatenated mitochondrial PCGs, recovered M. pennarius as a sister of Nemalecium lighti (Hargitt, 1924), outside the other Leptothecata hydrozoans, suggesting paraphyly of Leptothecata. Livingstone's turaco, Tauraco livingstonii , belongs to the family Musophagidae. In this study, we obtained the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Livingstone's turaco by high-throughput sequencing technology and constructed a phylogenetic tree. It was found that the mitochondria of this species are 19,015 bp in length and contain a total of 37 genes, comprising 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes. The base composition of the mitochondrial genome is 31.61% A, 24.22% T, 30.64% C, and 13.52% G, with a GC content of 44%. Notably, an intriguing phenomenon of mitochondrial genome rearrangements was observed, characterized by the duplication of the tRNA Glu-L-CR gene order. In addition, the results of the phylogenetic tree analysis shed light on the taxonomic position of Livingstone's turaco and supported the taxonomy of Otidimorphae. The tea pest, Basilepta melanopus Lefèvre 1893 (Chrysomelidae), belongs to the subfamily Eumolpinae. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of B. melanopus from southern China was sequenced using the next-generation sequencing technique, assembled, and annotated using bioinformatics tools. The complete mitochondrial genome was 15,905 bp in length. The overall GC content was 22.51%, in which the percentages for the bases A, T, C, and G were 41.23%, 36.26%, 8.92%, and 13.59%, respectively. Thirty-seven genes were predicted, including 13 protein-coding, 22 transfer RNA, and two ribosomal RNA genes. The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Neoperla bimaculata was sequenced and annotated in this study. We found that the mitogenome of N. bimaculata is 15,774 bp in length with an A + T content of 64.3%. It exhibits the classic structure of a mitogenome. Most protein-coding genes (PCGs) of the mitogenome initiate with the standard start codon ATN. Ten PCGs use the standard stop codon TAA/TAG, while the COI , COII , and ND5 genes terminate with a single T nucleotide. Phylogenetic analyses suggested that N. bimaculata , along with two unpublished Neoperla species, formed a cluster within the phylogenetic tree. Our results indicated that the genus Neoperla and Neoperlops were sister groups. Hericium erinaceus (Bull.:Fr.) Pers., 1797, is an edible and medicinal fungus found in China. In this study, specimens of H. erinaceus HE0021 were collected from southeastern China (Yunhe County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, 28°7'12″N, 119°34'12″E). The whole mitochondrial genome of H. erinaceus HE0021 was sequenced using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, which comprised 15 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 27 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), two ribosomal RNAs, with a total length of 83,518 base pairs (bp). The results of the phylogenetic analysis show that H. erinaceus and H. coralloides were clustered in the same clade. 41. Complete mitochondrial genome of the diving beetle, Cybister brevis Aubé, 1838 (Coleoptera, Dytiscidae) from Jeju Island.

- Abstract
The mitochondrial genome of Cybister brevis Aubé, 1838, is 16,198 bp long and includes 37 genes that are highly conserved in the family Dytiscidae. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that all genera in Dytiscidae, except Hydroporus and Oreodytes , are monophyletic. The Hydroporini tribe was found to be polyphyletic and closely associated with the Hygrotini, Bidessini, and Hyphydrini tribes. Dytiscinae was found to be a highly divergent polyphyletic group comprising three distinct clades. This study also revealed that C. brevis is closely related to Cybister japonicus and that the tribe Cybistrini diverged relatively early compared to other tribes in Hydroporinae. These findings are consistent with those of previous studies and provide new insights into the phylogeny of the Dytiscidae family, which has previously shown discrepancies between morphological characteristics and molecular data. - Abstract
The genome-level features are crucial genetic resources for species identification and phylogenetic analysis. Here, the complete mitochondrial genome of Aphidius colemani Viereck 1912 (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae) was sequenced, determined and analyzed. The circular genome is 16,372 bp in length with an overall base composition of 38.9% for A, 46.2% for T, 6.7% for C, and 8.2% for G. The mitochondrial genome of A. colemani contained 13 protein-coding genes that initiated by the ATN codon, 22 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and a control region (CR). It shared the same gene arrangement patterns that occurred in two tRNA clusters of trnI-trnQ-trnM and trnW-trnC-trnY with Aphidius gifuensis . Discogobio brachyphysallidos Huang 1989 is a Cyprinidae fish species that is endemic to the upper Pearl River. In the present study, the complete mitochondrial genome of D. brachyphysallidos collected from the Nanpanjiang River was sequenced and annotated. The mitochondrial genome encompassed 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes, 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and the control region (D-loop). The total length of the mitochondrial genome was determined to be 16,594 base pairs (bp), with a GC content of 41.7%. Phylogenetic analyses revealed that D. brachyphysallidos may be a sister to D. longibarbatus and D. macrophysallidos . - Abstract
The mitogenome of Bauhinia variegate was assembled and characterized in this study. The mitogenome size was 437,271 bp, and its GC content was 45.5%. 36 protein-coding genes, 17 tRNAs and 3 rRNAs were annotated in the mitogenome. A total of 12 MTPTs, ranging from 71 bp to 3562 bp, were identified in the mitogenome and covered 1.46% (6373 bp) of the mitogenome. Phylogenetic analysis of 15 species of Leguminosae based on 23 core protein-coding genes showed that B. variegata was sister to Tylosema esculentum , another member from the subfamily Cercidoideae. - Abstract
Vischeria punctata , as first described by Vischer in 1945, is a member of the family Chlorobotryaceae, within the order Eustigmatales. This species is recognized for its potential as a source of biofuels and other high-value products. In the present investigation, the whole genome of V. punctata was sequenced utilizing the Illumina HiSeq 4000 platform, enabling the assembly and annotation of its complete mitochondrial genome. The resulting circular genome spans 41,528 base pairs (bp) with a guanine-cytosine (GC) content of 27.3%. This genome encompasses 36 protein-coding genes, alongside 28 transfer RNA (tRNA), and three ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes. The evolutionary trajectory of V. punctata was further explored by constructing a phylogenetic tree derived from the mitochondrial 33 gene dataset of 16 Ochrophyta species. Comparative analysis reveals that V. punctata bears closer ties to Vischeria sp. CAUP Q202 than to Vischeria stellata strain SAG 33.83, suggesting shared evolutionary pathways and phenotypic traits. This investigation constitutes the inaugural study into the mitochondrial evolution and phylogenetic patterning of the mitogenome in V. punctata . The outcomes from this research bolster our understanding of the genetic diversity and evolutionary processes within the class Eustigmatophyceae. - Abstract
Micromelalopha sieversi (Staudinger, 1892) is a significant pest of Poplar trees in China. In this study, we used high-throughput sequencing to sequence the whole mitochondrial genome of M. sieversi . The length of the genome was 15,373 base pairs. The nucleotide composition was 39.8%, 11.5%, 8.0%, and 40.7% for A, C, G, and T, respectively. We used the maximum-likelihood method to construct a molecular phylogenetic tree based on complete mitogenome sequences of 19 Noctuoidea species as ingroups and five Geometroidea species as outgroups. - Abstract
Butyriboletus hainanensis , a macrofungus belonging to the Boletaceae family, is named after its collection location on Hainan Island, China. However, little is known about its mitochondrial genome and its phylogenetic relationship with other boletes. In this study, we utilized next-generation sequencing technology to sequence the mitochondrial genome of Bu. hainanensis . Our findings revealed that the mitochondrial genome of this species is presumably a circular DNA molecule spanning 36,592 bp. It consists of 15 protein-coding genes, 27 transfer RNA genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes. The base composition of the mitochondrial genome is as follows: A (36.64%), C (12.22%), G (11.73%), and T (39.41%), with a GC content of 23.95%. 48. Complete mitochondrial genome of the southern painted turtle ( Chrysemys dorsalis , Testudines: Emydidae) in Korea.

- Abstract
The complete mitochondrial genome of Chrysemys dorsalis in Korea was sequenced and characterized. The mitochondrial genome is 17,258 bp in length and the GC content is 39%. It is constituted of 37 genes, 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and a noncoding region. Phylogenetic analysis reveals that C. dorsalis forms a monophyletic group with C. picta turtles but is distinctly separated from them, aligning with previous findings. In Korea, C. dorsalis forms a discrete clade, separate from both native and invasive turtle species. No evidence of genetic disturbance or intermingling is observed. Aureoboletus raphanaceus is a member of boletoid mushroom, which is named after its distinctive radish smell. The mitochondrial genome and phylogenetic relationships with other boletes need to be investigated to gain a comprehensive understanding of it. In this study, we sequenced the mitochondrial genome of A. raphanaceus using next-generation sequencing technology and found that its mitochondrial genome is a circular DNA molecule measuring 42,157 bp. It consists of 15 core protein-coding genes, 27 transfer RNA genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes. The mitochondrial genome had a base composition of A (39.89%), C (11.06%), G (11.67%), and T (37.38%), with a GC content of 22.73%. The complete mitochondrial genomes of two spine-color individuals, red and white, of the tropical sea urchin species Tripneustes gratilla (Linnaeus, 1758) were sequenced on Illumina system platform. The red-spined species had a genome size of 15,774 bp, while the white-spined species had a genome size of 15,723 bp. Both genomes contained 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes. The GC composition in both species was above 40%. In order to investigate the phylogenetic relationships of two different spine-color individuals, a comprehensive analysis was conducted using eight complete mitochondrial genomic sequences of the genus Tripneustes on the software MEGA X. It was observed that the two spine color types of T. gratilla species showed a high similarity of 98.91%.
