Multivariate time series are widely used in industrial equipment monitoring and maintenance, health monitoring, weather forecasting and other fields. Due to abnormal sensors, equipment failures, environmental interference and human errors, the collected multivariate time series usually have certain missing values. Missing values imply the regularity of data, and seriously affect the further analysis and application of multivariate time series. Conventional imputation methods such as statistical imputation and machine learning-based imputation cannot learn the latent relationships of data and are difficult to use for missing values imputation in multivariate time series. This paper proposes a novel Time and Location Gated Recurrent Unit (TLGRU), which takes into account the non-fixed time intervals and location intervals in multivariate time series and effectively deals with missing values. We made necessary modifications to the architecture of the end-to-end imputation model $${E}^{2}$$ E 2 GAN and replaced Gated Recurrent Unit for Imputation (GRUI) with TLGRU to make the generated fake sample closer to the original sample. Experiments on a public meteorologic dataset show that our method outperforms the baselines on the imputation accuracy and achieves a new state-of-the-art result.

Background The B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (B-PLL) diagnosis is challenging due to the superposition with mature B-cell leukemia and/or lymphoma. Objective An insight case study of trisomy 5 with complex karyotype abnormalities in B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia. Subject and methods A 72-year-old man was referred to the Hematology Department, Qilu Hospital, Shandong University, because of persistent fever (10 days) and lymphocytosis. A detailed diagnostic methods including complete blood count, bone marrow aspiration, flow cytometry, conventional karyotype analysis, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), next-generation sequencing technology (NGS) used to detect 41 kinds of mutant genes related to hematological malignancies were conducted and reasonable therapeutic regimens including emergent leukapheresis accompanied by basification of urine and hydrotherapy, followed by a regimen of cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone. Results Subject white blood cell count was 143.43 × 109/L, and 56% prolymphocytes. He did not show lymphadenopathy but splenomegaly. Immunophenotyping of prolymphocytes was CD5(+low), CD10(−), CD11c(−), CD19(+), CD20(+), cCD22(+), CD23(−), cCD79a(+), CD79b(+), FMC7(±), CD43(−), CD3(−), CD56(−), CD103(−), HLA-DR(+), and Lambda(+). R-banding and FISH revealed that leukemia cells carried extra chromosome 5. Considering the rare occurrence of trisomy 5 found in prolymphocytic leukemia, especially in Asians, with rapid disease progression. We know that median survival of B-PLL is three years after diagnosis, while survival time of this patient was only 1 month. Conclusion This study could provide the firsthand materials for precision, medicine and mechanism research in cytogenetics and molecular biology. It inferred that trisomy 5 might be a poor prognosis indicator, providing directions for clinical practice in the foreseeable future.

A selective and low organic-solvent-consuming method of sample preparation combined with high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection is introduced for analysis of phthalic acid esters in edible oils. Sample treatment involves initial liquid–liquid partitioning with acetonitrile, then QuEChERS cleanup by dispersive solid-phase extraction with primary secondary amine as sorbent. Preconcentration of the analytes is performed by ionic-liquid-based dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction, with the cleaned-up extract as disperser solvent and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate as extraction solvent. Under the optimized conditions, correlation coefficients (r) were 0.998–0.999 and standard errors (S y/x ) were 2.67–3.37 × 103 for calibration curves in the range 50–1000 ng g−1. Detection limits, at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3, ranged from 6 to 9 ng g−1. Intra-day and inter-day repeatability, expressed as relative standard deviation, were in the ranges 1.0–6.9 % and 2.4–9.4 %, respectively. Recovery varied between 84 % and 106 %. The developed method was successfully used for analysis of the analytes in 28 edible oils. The dibutyl phthalate content of four of the 28 samples (14 %) exceeded the specific migration limit established by domestic and international regulations.

To detect the expression of cancerous inhibitor of phosphatase 2A (CIP2A) in chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) and investigate the mechanism underlying CIP2A knockdown-mediated cell proliferation and apoptosis as well as the interaction of CIP2A with breakpoint cluster region-Abelson leukemia virus (BCR-ABL). CIP2A mRNA and protein expression in chronic myelocytic leukemia-chronic (CML-CP) patients and healthy controls were determined by RT-PCR and Western blot. In vivo, c-Myc expression, PP2A activity, cell proliferation, and apoptosis of CML cells were detected with CIP2A depletion. In addition, the relationship among CIP2A, BCR-ABL, and tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 was explored by depleting/overexpressing CIP2A or inhibiting BCR-ABL. The level of CIP2A mRNA was higher in CML-CP patients than healthy controls (56/74, 75.7 % vs. 1/35, 2.9 %, P < 0.001), and CIP2A protein was overexpressed in corresponding specimens. CIP2A knockdown by siRNA reduced the level of c-Myc protein and clonogenic formation, inhibited the activity of PP2A, K562 cell proliferation, and promoted cell apoptosis. Suppressing BCR-ABL by imatinib mesylate (IM) significantly decreased CIP2A expression. CIP2A knockdown decreased BCR-ABL but increased SHP-1 expression, and CIP2A overexpression had the reverse effect. CIP2A is overexpressed in CML-CP patients, and its expression may promote CML pathogenesis. CIP2A and BCR-ABL can regulate each other in a positive feedback loop. CIP2A may be a useful therapeutic target in CML-CP, particularly in patients with IM resistance. However, further studies are needed to validate the interaction between CIP2A and BCR-ABL using other tyrosine kinase inhibitors than IM.

A series of Ag–Pd/C catalysts with different Ag/Pd molar ratios were prepared by impregnation and characterized by N2 adsorption and XPS. The catalytic performance was investigated in the hydrodechlorination of carbon tetrachloride into chloroform. High selectivity toward chloroform, near 100%, was obtained over Ag–Pd/C bi-metal catalysts. A very pronounced surface enrichment with Ag in Ag–Pd/C catalysts determined by XPS may be responsible for the high selectivity of chloroform. It is suggested that hydrodechlorination of carbon tetrachloride into chloroform occurs on the surface of Ag in the Ag–Pd alloy and the role of Pd is to supply H atoms necessary.
