This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Quality of Information and Communications Technology, QUATIC 2023, held in Aveiro, Portugal, during September 11–13, 2023.The 17 full papers and 4 short papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 37 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Disseminating Advanced Methods, Techniques, and Tools for Supporting Quality ICT Engineering and Management Approaches.

This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing, Networking and Services, MobiQuitous 2021, which was held in November 2021. The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The 37 full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 79 submissions and present discussions, interaction and exchange of experiences that will designate future research efforts and directions. Topics addressed by the conference include systems, applications, social networks, middleware, networking, sensing, data management, data processing and services, all with special focus on mobile and ubiquitous computing.

This book highlights recent research on Soft Computing, Pattern Recognition, Information Assurance and Security. This book constitutes the proceedings of the 23rd International Symposium on Foundations of Intelligent Systems, ISMIS 2017, held in Warsaw, Poland, in June 2017. The 56 regular and 15 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 118 submissions. The papers include both theoretical and practical aspects of machine learning, data mining methods, deep learning, bioinformatics and health informatics, intelligent information systems, knowledge-based systems, mining temporal, spatial and spatio-temporal data, text and Web mining. In addition, four special sessions were organized; namely, Special Session on Big Data Analytics and Stream Data Mining, Special Session on Granular and Soft Clustering for Data Science, Special Session on Knowledge Discovery with Formal Concept Analysis and Related Formalisms, and Special Session devoted to ISMIS 2017 Data Mining Competition on Trading Based on Recommendations, which was launched as a part of the conference.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on End-User Development, IS-EUD 2013, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in June 2013. The 13 full papers (45% acceptance rate) and 11 short papers (50% acceptance rate) have been presented at the event. In addition the volume contains two keynote speeches, three doctoral consortia papers, and information on 2 workshops. The papers provide a broad overview of the current state of End-User Development research.

This book presents the thoroughly refereed and revised post-workshop proceedings of the 17th Monterey Workshop, held in Oxford, UK, in March 2012. The workshop explored the challenges associated with the Development, Operation and Management of Large-Scale complex IT Systems. The 21 revised full papers presented were significantly extended and improved by the insights gained from the productive and lively discussions at the workshop, and the feedback from the post-workshop peer reviews.

The 13 revised full papers presented together with 24 emerging research papers, and 7 research challenge poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from over 100 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on requirements and software architectures; software architecture, components, and compositions; quality attributes and software architectures; software product line architectures; architectural models, patterns and styles; short papers; process and management of architectural decisions; software architecture run-time aspects; ADLs and metamodels; and services and software architectures.

ICIAR 2006, the International Conference on Image Analysis and Recognition, was the third ICIAR conference, and was held in P´ ovoa de Varzim, Portugal. ICIARisorganizedannually,andalternatesbetweenEuropeandNorthAmerica. ICIAR 2004 was held in Porto, Portugal and ICIAR 2005 in Toronto, Canada. The idea of o?ering these conferences came as a result of discussion between researchers in Portugal and Canada to encourage collaboration and exchange, mainlybetweenthesetwocountries,butalsowiththeopenparticipationofother countries, addressing recent advances in theory, methodology and applications. The response to the call for papers for ICIAR 2006 was higher than the two previous editions. From 389 full papers submitted, 163 were?nally accepted (71 oral presentations, and 92 posters). The review process was carried out by the Program Committee members and other reviewers; all are experts in various image analysis and recognition areas. Each paper was reviewed by at least two reviewers, and also checked by the conference Co-chairs. The high quality of the papers in these proceedings is attributed?rst to the authors, and second to the quality of the reviews provided by the experts. We would like to thank the authors for responding to our call, and we wholeheartedly thank the reviewers for their excellent work and for their timely response. It is this collective e?ort that resulted in the strong conference program and high-quality proceedings in your hands.
