This article provides an overview of the experiences of two workers at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) who are members of a union. The workers discuss their roles as a conservationist and an art handler, as well as the challenges they face in their positions. The article also highlights the formation of a union at the PMA, the negotiations for a fair contract, and the subsequent strike and ratification of the contract. The workers share their perspectives on the improvements achieved through the contract and hope that their success will inspire other cultural institutions to improve labor conditions.
