The article reflects on new alternatives in the treatment of myeloma kidney. It is said that free light chains (FLC) clearance have improved the scope of the survival of patients with myeloma kidney and the recovery of renal function in many cases. It is also said that the FLC elimination were made with plasmapheresis in the first attempt.

The article presents information on the role of chronic microinflammation state in uremia in the development of endothelial damage in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Endothelial cells are damaged by reactive oxygen species (ROS) which gets released due to the imbalance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory mechanisms which occur in patients with uremia. Increase in the level of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) also influences the development of endothelial damage.

The article presents a research study which examines the effectiveness of haemodiafiltration with ultrafiltrate regeneration (SUPRA-HFR) for the treatment of renal failure caused due to multiple myeloma (MM). It discusses a case study of a 63-year-old female having acute renal failure (ARF) secondary due to MM and depends on renal replacement therapy (RRT). The study shows that SUPRA-HFR is more efficient in reducing light chain cast as compared to high cut-off haemodialysis (HCO).

The article presents a case study of a 62-year-old man with general discomfort associated with bilious vomiting and hay fever. He was taking azithromycin and has a type 1 extracapillary glomerulonephritis (EGN) with plasma coexistence of antiglomerular basement membrane antibodies (GBM Ab) and anit-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCAs) present in type III EGN. The article discusses the EGN type 1 with the coexistence of positive anti-GBM and p-ANCA antibodies.
