Abstract

The article presents a case study of a 72-year old man with antisynthetase syndrome (AS) without myositic damage and with impaired renal function. The patient has a history of hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. The article discusses AS which is a rare disease in the idiopathic inflammatory myopathy group characterized by the presence of antisynthetase antibodies.
