The theological dynamic must be deeply linked to the current challenges and individuals' contexts, so that it will not be indifferent to the worldwide circumstances and life that surround it. Considering the above, this article aims to analyze the contributions of phenomenology and the theory of social representations in the theologian's daily life. This reflection is emerging from the results of previous investigations conducted by the authors, in which they started a dialogue among the knowledge of each discipline addressed, and in turn, prospectively considered the qualification of the research processes that are conducted in theology from the border perspective. Finally, the authors conclude that the circumscribed task presupposes inter and transdisciplinarity, not in a merely speculative perspective, but mainly, in a praxical one. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article analyzes the plural relationship between space and culture, and the ways in which children's representations and practices are questioned from this relationship. The concept of production of space is used, with which the trialectic association between the conceived, the appropriated and the practiced that underlies the construction of culture in early childhood, through spatial attributes, is proposed. The methodological design contemplated school ethnography, to explore the space of saying, saying in space in Buen Comienzo, a program of the Mayor's Office of Medellín. Social representations (SR) have always been a fundamental concept for psychology (Moscovici, 1973). This qualitative study uses the concept of SR, applied to the Health's field; the aim is to analyze the SR of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) for cancer in students of Health Sciences, using the methodology of thematic analysis. Results indicate that the SR of CAM have been developed based on many different elements, but where prevails an objectification and anchoring of CAM on what is common and familiar, rather than based on scientific knowledge. This article discloses the results from a research work conducted by the group 'Language, Pedagogy and Culture' at the university Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Using a methodology based on the Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 2003a; Reyes, 2011; Vasilachis, 1997; Wodak & Meyer, 2001), this work concludes that the social representations among a group of applicants, students and graduates from the program Bachelor's in Modern Languages have some effects on the construction of the category "teacher" as well as in the attitudes regarding the teaching-learning processes. This work analyses the dynamics of social representations with a sample of university students in Spain (n = 237) and Venezuela (n = 305) along with the centrality of subjective insecurity on their organizational principles. Following the methodology proposed by Doise, Clèmence, and Lorenzi-Cioldi (1993), the shared and differential meanings of delinquency are studied, as well as their anchoring in the subjective perception of risk, victimization experience and belonging to two national realities. Results show that Basque students represent delinquency stereotypically, associating some crime types to certain groups and criminogenic contexts related to young people, drugs, and immigration. Nevertheless Venezuelan students emphasise the causes of crime and its destructive consequences for social life, and a state of fear and insecurity due to a closer experience of crime. The subjective perception of risk and the victimization experiences are associated with these representations, allowing us to propose new priorities and challenges in the methods used for studying and facing fear and subjective insecurity. Based on the premise that the car has substantially transformed urban life, the aim of this article is to investigate the dimension of the ideas that residents of two neighborhoods in Cali (Colombia) have about their mobility and means of transportation. For this purpose, the analysis will be grounded on a Durkheim-based interpretation of social representation, understanding that this is not an autonomous dimension configured with its back turned against factual reality; rather, it interacts, structures, and is structured by social practices. Three representations will finally converge in the configuration of automotive logic in the residents of the two middle-class neighborhoods analyzed, which could be summarized as follows: the desideratum of sustainable mobility, the automobile as an efficient device, and the mystification of driving. Analyzing the concept of social representation and its distinctive connections with the ideological, mentalities, the imaginary and cultural practices, and based on defining urban space as a cultural text, this article proposes an analytical repository of historical interpretation, the “Cronopaisaje,” composed of the interaction of architectural-urban forms, a grammar of sociability and mechanisms of regulation and hierarchization, and “escenicas,” or interpolative repertoires of cultural practices and social representations which at the very least correspond to levels of autopresentation and identity reference, as well as collective evaluation and qualification. The “Cronopaisaje,” then, serves as a configured dynamic for the construction of social identities.

I present and analyze in this work the presentations of the internal armed conflict (1980- 2000) that struck the communities of the Peruvian south-central sierra with particular strength and violence. Said conflict is framed in a long history of discrimination and racism, which has characterized the relationship between the State and Quechua-speaking citizens. This experience is vital to understand the form and content acquired by the memories of the conflict that these communities have, as well as the artefacts that comprise the exhibition of the memory museums. Based on an ethnographic field work, I will focus on analyzing and setting in context the objects found in the exhibition of the museum «So It Does not Happen Again» of the National Group of Kidnapped, Imprisoned, and Missing Relatives of Peru (ANFASEP) of Ayacucho. The purpose of this article is to show the representation that civil and military authorities of the Popayan province made of women who openly took part in the public sphere, showing their sympathies for the rebel side. We take the case of the months after the civil War of the Supremes (July 1841 onwards), a period characterized by the repression carried out by representatives of the State against individuals who openly took part in the rebellion. In this context, many women were expelled from the city, town, or province - without being found guilty in court - by considering that due to their acts of sedition and sympathy for the rebels they corrupted and demoralized the social body. The objectives of the present research were to explore perceptions of Primary Health Care professionals towards alcoholic patients and to verify possible differences in the perceptions of male and female alcoholism. Participants read and responded to three case vignettes describing a male alcoholic, a female alcoholic and a male diabetic. Data were analyzed with repeated measures MANOVA and univariate F follow-up tests. Results showed that the alcoholic was objectified as an “atypical and difficult” patient towards whom there were negative attitudes and stigma-related socio-cognitive elements. Female alcoholism was possibly perceived as more difficult to explain than male alcoholism. Happiness is a symbolic polysemic construction, with multiple- philosophical roots, which brings sense to the good and desirable for human life. In social sciences and psychology it is approached from multiple concepts, and accordingly their results orient public policy. One emic approach is proposed, through a cross-cultural study of its social representation on samples of students and professionals from health and educational areas of Chile and Italy, which are socializing agents on well-being and quality of life. The research included two qualitative studies, the first using an open-ended questionnaire to 164 participants and the second conducting eight focus groups with 65 subjects. Inductive content analysis was used to generate categories and socio-semantic dimensions. A common nucleus to both countries was found, for the notion, components and three types of happiness. It was concluded that the meanings of happiness influence the experiences, interpretations, trials of life and the vital project orientation of individuals. These results were problematized in light of global studies of happiness and the treatment of the construct in the social scenario. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The women and men of African descent are represented socially as "objects of cultural adventure". There is a brand that uses gender and sexual-based violence exacerbated by the racialization of the body. It represents, objectifies and "cloisters" women of African descent into the categories of "hot bodies", "gusty", "strong": chained bodies. Since social representations shape human behavior and social practices, the discourses and imaginaries of men and women of African descent generate the "disposal" of the relations that they establish with mestizos and other human groups, including their co-ethnic bonds. Similarly, these representations make them more prone to sexual violence. For men, there is a continuity in the discourse of "virile male" that "discards", "objectifies" and, in turn, preforms a construction of masculinity, sexuality, sexual identity and the relationship with other sexualities. Such representations lead men and women to avoid being affectionate and close in their interactions with the same sex, with their couples and in their social and family relationships. This work aims to identify the social representations of the coal business in the town of Candiota, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Serge Moscovici's theoretical and methodological framework and Jean-Claude Abric's structural approach were used. Economic growth is presented as the central representation while employment, quality of life and the "reason for existence" of the municipality: energy, as well as the development or backwardness are presented as peripheral elements of the representations. Information on this aspect is scattered in various media such as local newspapers, radio, Internet, local television, magazines and everyday conversations. This paper presents research results of the macroproject Academic writing in contexts of bilingualism and multiculturalism. We analyze the case of Universidad Distrital and, in particular, we describe and interpret the social representations of indigenous and black students on academic writing. The article proposes, from a critical discourse analysis, a discussion of writing as a form of academic exclusion since these students are disadvantaged, either by problems of adaptation to the city, attachment to the cultural traditions in which the oral tradition plays a key role, or because of academic practices of the university, such as the development of written texts. In recent years Argentina has been debating in different areas the food and productive matrix, and its main consequences. The aim of this article is to analyze the construction of the food problem as a public issue after the crisis of 2001-2008, by identifying and analyzing the representations associated with it in the graphic press. To this end, we selected two national print media and analyzed their editorials, appealing to the methodology of discourse analysis. The purpose was to analyze these debates in the media field, which is considered as a key player of the public space and a place where topics and problems are constructed. In addition we assume media as a space for diverse social representations, from which the positioning of the food matrix as an issue, its consequences, the actors involved, the role of the state and public policies are disputed. The present paper is a review of the theoretical advances and empirical findings related to social representations according to the structural approach, a research stream that aims at studying the influence of social factors in thinking processes through the identification and characterization of relationship structures. The presentation of the approach begins with the baseline definitions of social representations according to a structural approach, moving on to an overview on the nature of representation elements, the relationships between representations and practices, cognitive scheme dimensions, central core theory, representation transformations and interaction context effects. In addition to positioning ourselves concerning polemic topics during the review, in the final section we evaluate briefly the current state and future perspectives of structural research on social representations, mostly addressing the problem of defining consensus, the difficulty of characterizing a collective construct from individual data, and the secondary importance of content in structural laws. This study describes the motivations of citizens of sub-Saharan Africa francophone to establish in France thanks to the creation of an innovative framework for understanding with three key themes: motivation, migration and Africa and their relations with Europe. 155 participants from both continents responded to a questionnaire about their actual or potential migration project. The results presented raise a general plan of approach to reality and imaginary of sub-Saharan African migrants in the French current context, marked by reflection on national identity, immigration and customs controls, a political climate reticent to migration and a social network characterized by a growing multiculturalism. In order to examine the social representation of the American population, we explored the discourse expressed in five textbooks of American geography that were published in Colombia between 1970 and 1990. We used tools proposed by Van Dijk (2008) and Wodak (2003) to study the ideological identity discourse of social groups, by tracking the positive portrayal of "us" and the negative representation of the "others". We found that the people of America are represented through the idea of race, a classification scheme that places the white category on the upper level as opposed to Indian and black, and through the ideology of development, which fosters a semantic polarization between Latin America and Anglo America. This article is the product of a qualitative researched design that used drawing as technique, describes the content and analyzes the structure and organization of the social representation of the colombian armed conflict in children between 7 and 10 year, which studying in a school belonging to the National Police. The results show that this social fact is organized in the minds of children about the scenes of confrontation and attack, which are happens principally on rural context. Emerge strong allusions to actors, civilian populations are recognized as a direct victim, Police as the good part and the guerrilla as the bad guys. Police and Guerrillas are represented mainly by the male figure. Recurring images of weapons and death raises the perception of conflict as bad, while that originate in children feelings of discomfort and sadness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present paper illustrates the potentialities offered by the Social Representations approach to the exploration of peace and war concepts. Free associations tasks with the stimuli War and Peace were given to 112 students in order to assess contents and structures. Differences related to gender, age and school grade were investigated. Attention was devoted to the role of peace education activities. Results indicate a dramatic representation of war, based on death and destruction. The representation of peace is based on intimate and positive emotional experiences. It appears weaker and polyphasic, with cues of change. Respondents involved in peace education show greater complexity of contents and more features related to positive approaches to peace, thus underlining the relevance of these activities. In the following text, we will work on the social representations analysis of socially important subjects as social vulnerability. Through this objective, we try to understand how the people conceive and explain the different aspects of living in the street. With this purpose, 100 people have been interviewed, which semantic production has been analyzed through a structural analysis of social representation. This study is a historical approach to the National Museum of Colombia, in order to analyze the representations of the Nation and its inhabitants exhibited between 1880 and 1912. First, it refers to some of the features of the Museum, taking into account its development during the nineteenth century and the social and cultural function it fulfilled; it then studies how collections were established by examining their origin and type of object gathered at the time, discussing how objects were classified in relation to the segment population and the variation of this classification during this period. This work aimed at testing a method of contextual analysis to infer social representations of the body in ethnic groups. It was expected that some individuals groups would tend to relinquish to autonomy, differentiation and delimitation of interindividual and intergroup boundaries, and share those social control patterns considered more generic/universal. Meanwhile, the (individual/group) self as a particularity would be asserted by others. Representations of one's own body were observed among students self-defined as Whites (n=112), and Afro-Brazilians (n=44), in samples that were well balanced between both sexes and secondary and university levels. They were required to account for their body in simulated and freely chosen places, and in the contexts of dwelling, class-room, school contexts, as well as out of these contexts. Whites tended to mention emotion/feeling, comfort satisfaction and norms/deviances, while Blacks readiness/self-control, enjoying desiring and individual assertiveness. In the contemporary democracies, the political parties the political parties have considered the main mediators between the State and the society. This characteristic is the one that allows to differentiate them from other organizations of voluntary character, groups of pressure and unions since they do not seek to accede directly to the political power, but to influence the governmental policies. The world of the political parties can be approached from different forms: a strategy of study is to analyze the relation of the political party with the social structure, other one is to approach its relation with the internal organization, but also the policy supposes supposes the existence of beliefs concerning this political phenomenon and the social representations spread in the society. This approximation that is done from the Political Culture proposes in this work: to investigate the different theoretical-methodological proposals from boarding of the Peronist phenomenon. In that sense we will approach three interpretations around: 1 The identities forged from Peronism on its irrationality or rationality; 2 The practices of political intermediation; 3 The ideological reading of Peronism from social speech. The definition of a town's identity is a contemporary problematic. The process of economic globalization, far from devastating with the regional or national particularities seems to have exacerbated them. For that reason, to look for the bases of the national or regional identity in the present forces to dig in our own history to try to find out the real or mythical origins of the same. But the identity is not an easy or univocal concept or of an immediate apprehension. It was not in the past nor in the present. For that reason, this article aims to introduce the problematic of identity from the theory of the social representations and as case applied to the City of Mendoza, Argentina. This article reflects on how cartography constitutes of a unique spatial language, which produces a political image of the territory that illustrates prevailing power concepts. The emphasis on the map, for this discussion, tries to introduce a question about the ethical and political implications inherent in cartography and open a door to explore the connections between cartography, social representations of the territory and spatial behavior of individuals and social collectives. The article begins with a brief review of the history of cartography, and then turns its attention to critical cartography and the possibilities of using "cognitive maps" as a methodology to execute cartographical exercises with local communities. The article explores the structure of the social representation of healthy eating in four groups in Colombian society (two rural and two urban, professionals and non-professionals). The structural analysis distinguished common elements across all the groups studied, namely vegetarian foods, white meat, and the ideal conditions for eating, which were identified as the central core of the representation. The findings concur with other reports in the literature on healthy eating. Health practices, however, revealed inconsistencies and show that health beliefs may function as paradoxical systems and they are defined according to the contexts of communication. Instead of a conventional view knowledge-attitudes-behavior, the theory of social representations offers a distinctive framework for the study of health practices and assumes consistency and rationality in terms of the sociocultural implications of the action. A specific form of social mobility, spatial mobility, is examined in this paper. Likewise, social representations by residents of different social strata are analyzed. The research project that the current results are based upon, deals with the effects of the stratification policy on paying public utilities and with social mobility. Spatial mobility patterns towards and within Bogotá are reviewed, as well as the way its inhabitants move around in the city by socioeconomic stratum. This article explores the characteristics of tele-physionomics based on the theory of social representations understood as registers of social cognition, structures of techno-mystification, topology of cultural texts, grammars and dynamics of media spectacularization. An introduction to the journal is presented in which the editor discusses the different types of leadership in the Australia, research, potential of narratives in subjectivity research with youth ex-members of armed groups in Colombia and the social representation of teachers in training in the Mexican research.
