Cellulose-based foams present a high potential for noise insulation applications. These materials are bio-degradable, eco-friendly by both embedded components and manufacturing process, have low density and high porosity, and are able to provide good noise insulation characteristics compared with available petroleum-based foams currently used on a large scale. This paper presents the results of some investigations performed by the authors in order to improve the functional characteristics in terms of free surface wettability and structural integrity. Native xylan and xylan-based derivatives (in terms of acetylated and hydrophobized xylan) were taken into account for surface treatment of cellulose foams, suggesting that hemicelluloses represent by-products of pulp and paper industry, and xylan polysaccharides are the most abundant hemicelluloses type. The investigations were mainly conducted in order to evaluate the level to which surface treatments have affected the noise insulation properties of basic cellulose foams. The results indicate that surface treatments with xylan derivatives have slowly affected the soundproofing characteristics of foams, but these clearly have to be taken into account because of their high decrease in wettability level and improving structural integrity. Publicly available ionograms are often in the form of pictures. This paper proposes a novel algorithm for extracting and repairing the F layer traces from pictorial ionograms. Extensive efforts have been invested in ionogram autoscaling and critical parameter identification to improve the efficiency of scaling algorithms. To obtain the parameters of the F layer automatically, it is necessary to accurately extract the F layer trace. However, research on F layer trace extraction with repair is relatively limited. The method employed in this study makes full use of the characteristics of different types of echoes on the ionograms, and the procedure includes noise preprocessing, coupling noise processing, and trace repair. To enhance the applicability of the repair, two different automatic filling algorithms are adopted to repair the F layer trace. The aim of this paper is to present an adaptive algorithm to automatically extract and repair F layer traces from different pictorial ionograms. The edge detection method based on the magnetic gradient tensor data plays an important role in magnetic exploration because it is free from geomagnetic interference and contains more abundant information. This paper proposes a new anomaly edge detection method using the magnetic gradient tensor components. The model is established to compare with other methods, such as directional total horizontal derivative (THDz), analytical signal (AS), tilt angle, theta map, and so on, under conditions of vertical magnetization, oblique magnetization, and noise interference. Through the study of the anomaly distribution of the rectangular model, it is observed that the edge detection method proposed in this paper is nearly impervious to noise interference, exhibits strong anti-interference capabilities, delivers a high-quality boundary identification effect, and provides greater accuracy in anomaly edges with minimal error. When multiple anomalous bodies are present, the edge detection results are less susceptible to interference from each other, resulting in higher resolution. The efficiency of the algorithm is demonstrated by real magnetic data from some study areas in Jiangxi Province, China. This paper analyzes the performance requirements that need to be met by a clock generator applied to a low-temperature quantum computer and analyzes the negative effects on the clock generator circuit under low-temperature conditions. In order to meet the performance requirements proposed in this paper and suppress the negative effects brought about by the low temperature, a clock generator for ultra-low-temperature quantum computing is designed. This clock generator is designed by using F-CLASS Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO), power filter, tail resistor, differential charge pump, and other techniques. And the noise characteristics of the clock generator are analyzed by Impulse Sensitive Function (ISF) and simulation results. After simulation tests, the average power consumption of the clock generator designed in this paper is 7 mW, the phase noise is −121 dBc/Hz@1 MHz, and the jitter is 62 fs. The performance of the clock generator meets the performance requirements proposed in this paper, and the reduction in the corner frequency proves that the circuit will have better performance at low temperatures. As the eLoran signal propagates, its strength gradually diminishes with increasing distance, making subsequent signal capture and terminal development challenging. To address this phenomenon, this paper proposes an improved method based on wavelet hard thresholding. This method applies hierarchical processing to the coefficients obtained after wavelet decomposition, based on the signal's center frequency. It effectively addresses issues like the disappearance of trailing edges and the presence of the noise with large coefficients. Simulation results show that the improved method has the largest output signal-to-noise ratio and effectively improves the problem of tailing vanishing and eliminates the noise with large coefficients. In analog source signal testing, the results show that the method can extract signals of 30 dBμv/m and above well. In actual signal testing, the improved method can extract eLoran signals transmitted over a distance of approximately 1000 km. Based on the results, it can be deduced that the input signal-to-noise ratio is −28.8 dB. Therefore, this method is a suitable and effective solution for extracting weak eLoran signals, providing strong support for signal monitoring in areas at the coverage boundaries of eLoran signals. This paper presents a methodology for fault detection and isolation (FDI) in transient conditions using a multiway principal component analysis (MPCA) approach where practical data have been augmented with simulated data to conduct FDI when there are insufficient practical data. The motivation for using a heated two-tank system is due to the fact that it resembles a basic process in terms of controllable variables, noise, disturbances, and changes in operating points. Normal and faulty condition data of the practical heated two-tank system as well as a Simulink® model of the heated two-tank system were used. The MPCA technique has enhanced ability to detect and isolate faults in transient conditions compared to classic principal component analysis (PCA). MPCA, however, requires a vast amount of normal process transient conditions data to train the model to then enable meaningful fault detection and isolation. In this study, the practical normal transient conditions data are augmented with simulated normal transient conditions data to meet the requirement of a large amount of data. Utilising different datasets for the training of the MPCA model, the fault detection and isolation performance was evaluated with various metrics. The paper presents the noise analysis of a MEMS and ASIC readout integrated circuit (ROIC) constituting the accelerometer developed in the frame of the InnoReh project, aiming at the development of methods for monitoring patients with imbalance disorders. Several experiments were performed at different temperatures and in different configurations: ROIC alone, ROIC with emulated parasitic capacitances, MEMS and ROIC in separate packages, and MEMS and ROIC in a single package. Many noise/interference sources were considered. The results obtained experimentally were compared to the results of theoretical investigations and were within the same order of magnitude, although in practice, the observed noise was always greater than the theoretical estimation. The paper also includes an in-depth analysis to explain these differences. Moreover, it is argued that, in terms of noise, the MEMS sensing element, and not the ROIC, is the quality-limiting factor. Multifactor uncertain differential equations are powerful tools for studying dynamic systems under multi-source noise. A key challenge in this study is how to accurately estimate unknown parameters based on the framework of uncertainty theory in multi-source noise environments. To address this core problem, this paper innovatively proposes a least-squares estimation method. The essence of this method lies in constructing statistical invariants with a symmetric uncertainty distribution based on observational data and determining specific parameters by minimizing the distance between the population distribution and the empirical distribution of the statistical invariant. Additionally, two numerical examples are provided to help readers better understand the practical operation and effectiveness of this method. In addition, we also provide a case study of JD.com's stock prices to illustrate the advantages of the method proposed in this paper, which not only provides a new idea and method for addressing the problem of dynamic system parameter estimation but also provides a new perspective and tool for research and application in related fields. Ship-radiated noise is the main basis for ship detection in underwater acoustic environments. Due to the increasing human activity in the ocean, the captured ship noise is usually mixed with or covered by other signals or noise. On the other hand, due to the softening effect of bubbles in the water generated by ships, ship noise undergoes non-negligible nonlinear distortion. To mitigate the nonlinear distortion and separate the target ship noise, blind source separation (BSS) becomes a promising solution. However, underwater acoustic nonlinear models are seldom used in research for nonlinear BSS. This paper is based on the hypothesis that the recovery and separation accuracy can be improved by considering this nonlinear effect in the underwater environment. The purpose of this research is to explore and discover a method with the above advantages. In this paper, a model is used in underwater BSS to describe the nonlinear impact of the softening effect of bubbles on ship noise. To separate the target ship-radiated noise from the nonlinear mixtures, an end-to-end network combining an attention mechanism and bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) recurrent neural network is proposed. Ship noise from the database ShipsEar and line spectrum signals are used in the simulation. The simulation results show that, compared with several recent neural networks used for linear and nonlinear BSS, the proposed scheme has an advantage in terms of the mean square error, correlation coefficient and signal-to-distortion ratio. The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) has contributed to an increase in the production volume of RF-featured equipment. According to statistics from the literature, the IoT industry will soon deploy billions of products. While the concept behind these applications seems exciting, this paper sought to assess the effects the radio emissions produced by IoT products would have on the ambient radio noise levels within the unlicensed frequency bands of 433 MHz, 868 MHz, and 2.4 GHz. The study extended to three environments: industrial, urban, and suburban. This study developed an IoT noise generator (ING) device to emulate RF noise signals in the desired IoT radio transmission band. The paper presents a simplified radio noise surveying system (RNSS) for data collection of ambient radio noise from five South African candidate sites. The statistical and empirical analysis agree that the level of ambient radio noise was directly proportional to the rate of IoT radio activities. The holographic signal-processing method for a single vector scalar receiver (VSR) in the high-frequency band in shallow water is developed in the paper. The aim of this paper is to present the results of the theoretical analysis, numerical modeling, and experimental verification of holographic signal processing for a noise source by the VSR. The developed method is based on the formation of the 2D interferogram and 2D hologram of a noise source in a shallow-water waveguide. The 2D interferograms and 2D holograms for different channels of the VSR (P sound pressure and V X and V Y vibration velocity components) are considered. It is shown that the 2D interferogram consists of parallel interference fingers in the presence of a moving noise source. As a result, the 2D hologram contains focal points located on a straight line, and the angular distribution of the holograms has the main extreme value. It is shown in the paper that the holographic signal-processing method allows detecting the source, estimating the source bearing, and filtering the useful signal from the noise. PWM (pulse width modulation) is the most widely applied current conversion technology, but the high-frequency harmonics it causes have a significant negative impact on inverter system performance. This paper focuses on the three-phase T-type three-level inverter as the research object and addresses existing PWM voltage noise and midpoint potential imbalance issues by proposing an improved random SVPWM strategy, named Neutral Point Potential Balance Random Space Vector PWM (NPB–RSVPWM). The NPB–RSVPWM strategy includes three main steps: (1) introducing a midpoint potential balancing control loop to adjust the synthesis timing of the effective vectors to generate pulse signals, optimizing midpoint potential balance; (2) employing a randomly varying carrier frequency in place of the carrier used in the SVPWM strategy to generate the driving signals for switching devices; and (3) controlling the inverter through the driving pulse signals. This strategy optimizes the synthesis sequence of traditional SVPWM strategy vectors and incorporates random frequency modulation techniques. The mathematical model analyzes PWM harmonic expressions corresponding to fixed switching frequencies, and a random frequency carrier is chosen to suppress these PWM harmonics. The effective vector's equivalent circuit is analyzed, proposing a technique for optimized vector synthesis timing. The simulation and experimental results verify that the NPB–RSVPWM technique can disperse PWM harmonic energy, reduce voltage noise, and optimize midpoint potential balance. Under the NPB–RSVPWM strategy, the line voltage spectrum becomes uniform, the maximum harmonic content is greatly reduced, and the fluctuation in the DC side midpoint potential is significantly improved. Compared with the traditional SVPWM strategy and random PWM strategy, the NPB–RSVPWM strategy has a lower voltage noise, smaller total harmonic distortion, and a more stable midpoint potential. This paper investigates the AUV region-tracking control problem with measurement noise and transient and steady-state constraints. To achieve the fluctuation of AUV tracking error within an expected region while satisfying the transient and steady-state performance constraints, this paper proposes an improved nonlinear tracking error transformation method. This method converts the tracking error into a new virtual error variable through nonlinear conversion, thus transforming the above performance requirements for the tracking error into boundedness requirements for the new virtual error variable. In addition, aiming at the problem of measurement noise causing strong fluctuation of the control signal, this paper proposes a finite-time AUV control method based on a two-stage command filter. This method utilizes a finite-time sliding mode differentiator to filter the virtual control signal during the derivation of the control law using the backstepping technique. In light of the signal loss incurred by two-stage filtering and its potential impact on system stability, a finite-time compensator is designed to compensate the signal loss and achieve finite-time stability of the closed-loop system. Finally, simulations conducted using ODIN AUV demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits smooth control signal and low energy consumption characteristics. Impact force induced by tread pattern is one of the major mechanisms of tire noise; thus, how to reduce tire impact noise has been an important issue in regard to tire technology. In this paper, the mechanism of tire–pavement interaction noise is briefly described, and a prediction model for pattern noise is proposed. The prediction model was validated with indoor semi-anechoic chamber and pass-by noise experiments. Then, an optimization method for the tread pattern was proposed by using the basis vector method, and the synthetic pattern shape was generated through a linear combination of basis shape vectors. Finally, a novel multi-objective function was proposed, aimed at minimizing the impact noise generated by the tire pattern, and the weight factors of the basis vectors were optimized with a genetic algorithm. Although wind farms have an undeniable beneficial impact on the environment, certain negative environmental implications do appear as a consequence of their operation. One of them is the production of noise. The wind farm noise values decrease with distance, so that at a certain point they are within the legally prescribed limits. This is the case for individual wind farms noise impact assessments. However, with two or more wind farms in the same area, there is a superposition of noise and a consequential change in the noise value. The focus of the paper is on the results of modeling noise propagation in space in the case of the cumulative impact of two neighboring wind farms. The results are modeled during the process of strategically assessing the environment so as to determine territorial impacts and make informed decisions about future development. The paper presents the strategic answer to the model of the spatial propagation of noise in cases of cumulative impact with a view to including the preventive protection principle in the planning of several adjacent wind farms. Aviation is a vital modern transportation sector connecting millions of passengers globally. Sustainable aviation development holds substantial community benefits, necessitating effective management of its environmental impacts. This paper addresses the need for an accurate and cost-effective aircraft noise monitoring model tailored to non-towered general aviation airports with limited resources for official air traffic data collection. The existing literature highlights a heavy reliance on air traffic data from control facilities in prevailing aircraft noise modeling solutions, revealing a disparity between real-world constraints and optimal practices. Our study presents a validation of a three-stage framework centered on a low-cost transponder unit, employing an innovative experimental and analytical approach to assess the model's accuracy. An economical Automatic Dependent Surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) receiver is deployed at Purdue University Airport (ICAO Code: KLAF) to estimate aircraft noise levels using the developed approach. Simultaneously, a physical sound meter is positioned at KLAF to capture actual acoustic noise levels, facilitating a direct comparison with the modeled data. Results demonstrate that the developed noise model accurately identifies aircraft noise events with an average error of 4.50 dBA. This suggests the viability of our low-cost noise monitoring approach as an affordable solution for non-towered general aviation airports. The intrinsic noise of different transformers in the same substation belongs to the same type of noise, which is strongly coherent and difficult to separate, greatly increasing the cost of substation noise assessment and treatment. To solve the problem, the present paper proposes a noise separation technique using the phase conjugation method to separate the intrinsic noise signals of different transformers: firstly, the reconstruction of sound source information is realized by the phase conjugation method based on the measurement and emission of a line array; secondly, the intrinsic noise signals of the sound source are obtained by the equivalent point source method. The error of the separation technique is analyzed by point source simulation, and the optimal arrangement form of the microphone line array is studied. A validation experiment in a semi-anechoic chamber is also carried out, and the results prove that the error of separation technique is less than 2dBA, which is the error tolerance of engineering applications. Finally, a noise separation test of three transformers is performed in a substation using the proposed technique. The results show that the proposed technique is able to realize the intrinsic noise separation of each transformer in the substation, which is of positive significance for substation noise assessment and management. The present paper is aimed at providing an updated review of prediction methods for the aerodynamic noise of ducted rotor–stator stages. Indeed, ducted rotating-blade technologies are in continuous evolution and are increasingly used for aeronautical propulsion units, power generation and air conditioning systems. Algorithms for QRS detection are fundamental in the ECG interpretive processing chain. They must meet several challenges, such as high reliability, high temporal accuracy, high immunity to noise, and low computational complexity. Unfortunately, the accuracy expressed by missed or redundant events statistics is often the only parameter used to evaluate the detector's performance. In this paper, we first notice that statistics of true positive detections rely on researchers' arbitrary selection of time tolerance between QRS detector output and the database reference. Next, we propose a multidimensional algorithm evaluation method and present its use on four example QRS detectors. The dimensions are (a) influence of detection temporal tolerance, tested for values between 8.33 and 164 ms; (b) noise immunity, tested with an ECG signal with an added muscular noise pattern and signal-to-noise ratio to the effect of "no added noise", 15, 7, 3 dB; and (c) influence of QRS morphology, tested on the six most frequently represented morphology types in the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database. The multidimensional evaluation, as proposed in this paper, allows an in-depth comparison of QRS detection algorithms removing the limitations of existing one-dimensional methods. The method enables the assessment of the QRS detection algorithms according to the medical device application area and corresponding requirements of temporal accuracy, immunity to noise, and QRS morphology types. The metallurgical sector is one of the important sectors of the Slovak economy. Its integral part is the storage of metallurgical waste, which is accompanied by noise that bothers the inhabitants of the surrounding urban areas. This paper focuses on the analysis of the problem of noise propagation into protected areas located in the vicinity of the metallurgical plant. The paper describes a number of measurements that have been carried out at the slag landfill. Based on these measurements, simulations were performed using a mathematical model, and predictions of noise propagation in the exterior were made. Subsequently, noise reduction measures were proposed. The results obtained by the authors form a methodological basis for addressing such situations, since, during the solution, it was often necessary to deal with non-standard situations that were specific to the area of the technology addressed. In this paper, the adaptive consensus problem of unknown non-linear multi-agent systems (MAs) with communication noises under Markov switching topologies is studied. Based on the adaptive control theory, a novel distributed control protocol for non-linear multi-agent systems is designed. It consists of the local interfered relative information and the estimation of the unknown dynamic. The Radial Basis Function networks (RBFNNs) approximate the nonlinear dynamic, and the estimated weight matrix is updated by utilizing the measurable state information. Then, using the stochastic Lyapunov analysis method, conditions for attaining consensus are derived on the consensus gain and the weight of RBFNNs. The main findings of this paper are as follows: the consensus control of multi-agent systems under more complicated and practical circumstances, including unknown nonlinear dynamic, Markov switching topologies and communication noises, is discussed; the nonlinear dynamic is approximated based on the RBFNNs and the local interfered relative information; the consensus gain k must to be small to guarantee the consensus performance; and the proposed algorithm is validated by the numerical simulations finally. This paper addresses a joint training approach applied to a pipeline comprising speech enhancement (SE) and automatic speech recognition (ASR) models, where an acoustic tokenizer is included in the pipeline to leverage the linguistic information from the ASR model to the SE model. The acoustic tokenizer takes the outputs of the ASR encoder and provides a pseudo-label through K-means clustering. To transfer the linguistic information, represented by pseudo-labels, from the acoustic tokenizer to the SE model, a cluster-based pairwise contrastive (CBPC) loss function is proposed, which is a self-supervised contrastive loss function, and combined with an information noise contrastive estimation (infoNCE) loss function. This combined loss function prevents the SE model from overfitting to outlier samples and represents the pronunciation variability in samples with the same pseudo-label. The effectiveness of the proposed CBPC loss function is evaluated on a noisy LibriSpeech dataset by measuring both the speech quality scores and the word error rate (WER). The experimental results reveal that the proposed joint training approach using the described CBPC loss function achieves a lower WER than the conventional joint training approaches. In addition, it is demonstrated that the speech quality scores of the SE model trained using the proposed training approach are higher than those of the standalone-SE model and SE models trained using conventional joint training approaches. An ablation study is also conducted to investigate the effects of different combinations of loss functions on the speech quality scores and WER. Here, it is revealed that the proposed CBPC loss function combined with infoNCE contributes to a reduced WER and an increase in most of the speech quality scores.

In mineral, environmental, and engineering explorations, we frequently encounter geological bodies with varied sizes, depths, and conductivity contrasts with surround rocks and try to interpret them with single survey data. The conventional three-dimensional (3-D) inversions significantly rely on the size of the grids, which should be smaller than the smallest geological target to achieve a good recovery to anomalous electric conductivity. However, this will create a large amount of unknowns to be solved and cost significant time and memory. In this paper, we present a multi-scale (MS) stochastic inversion scheme based on shearlet transform for airborne electromagnetic (AEM) data. The shearlet possesses the features of multi-direction and multi-scale, allowing it to effectively characterize the underground conductivity distribution in the transformed domain. To address the practical implementation of the method, we use a compressed sensing method in the forward modeling and sensitivity calculation, and employ a preconditioner that accounts for both the sampling rate and gradient noise to achieve a fast stochastic 3-D inversion. By gradually updating the coefficients from the coarse to fine scales, we obtain the multi-scale information on the underground electric conductivity. The synthetic data inversion shows that the proposed MS method can better recover multiple geological bodies with different sizes and depths with less time consumption. Induction machines (IMs) are commonly used in various industrial sectors. It is essential to recognize IM defects at their earliest stage so as to prevent machine performance degradation and improve production quality and safety. This work will focus on IM broken rotor bar (BRB) fault detection, as BRB fault could generate extra heating, vibration, acoustic noise, or even sparks in IMs. In this paper, a modified empirical mode decomposition (EMD) technique, or MEMD, is proposed for BRB fault detection using motor current signature analysis. A smart sensor-based data acquisition (DAQ) system is developed by our research team and is used to collect current signals wirelessly. The MEMD takes several processing steps. Firstly, correlation-based EMD analysis is undertaken to select the most representative intrinsic mode function (IMF). Secondly, an adaptive window function is suggested for spectral operation and analysis to detect the BRB fault. Thirdly, a new reference function is proposed to generate the fault index for fault severity diagnosis analytically. The effectiveness of the proposed MEMD technique is verified experimentally. The teacher–student framework has been employed in unsupervised domain adaptation, which transfers knowledge learned from a labeled source domain to an unlabeled target domain. However, this framework suffers from two serious challenges: the domain gap, causing performance degradation, and noisy teacher pseudo-labels, which tend to mislead students. In this paper, we propose a Consistent and Contrastive Teacher with Fourier Transform (CCTF) method to address these challenges for high-performance cross-domain object detection. To mitigate the negative impact of domain shifts, we use the Fourier transform to exchange the low-frequency components of the source and target domain images, replacing the source domain inputs with the transformed image, thereby reducing domain gaps. In addition, we encourage the localization and classification branches of the teacher to make consistent predictions to minimize the noise in the generated pseudo-labels. Finally, contrastive learning is employed to resist the impact of residual noise in pseudo-labels. After extensive experiments, we show that our method achieves the best performance. Electric propulsion motors are more efficient than internal combustion engines, but they generate high-frequency tonal noise, which can be perceived as annoying. Acoustical materials are typically suitable for high-frequency noise, making them ideal for acoustic noise mitigation. This paper investigates the effectiveness of three acoustical materials, namely, 2″ Polyurethane foam, 2″ Vinyl-faced quilted glass fiber, and 2″ Studiofoam, in mitigating the acoustic noise from an induction motor and a variable frequency inverter. Acoustic noise rates at multiple motor speeds, with and without the application of acoustical materials, are compared to determine the effectiveness of acoustical materials in mitigating acoustic noise at the transmission stage. Acoustical materials reduce acoustic noise from the induction motor by 5–14 dB(A) at around 500 Hz and by 22–31 dB(A) at around 10,000 Hz. Among the tested materials, Studiofoam demonstrates superior noise absorption capacity across the entire frequency range. The Time-Varying Matrix Inversion (TVMI) problem is integral to various fields in science and engineering. Countless studies have highlighted the effectiveness of Zeroing Neural Networks (ZNNs) as a dependable approach for addressing this challenge. To effectively solve the TVMI problem, this paper introduces a novel Efficient Anti-Noise Zeroing Neural Network (EANZNN). This model employs segmented time-varying parameters and double integral terms, where the segmented time-varying parameters can adaptively adjust over time, offering faster convergence speeds compared to fixed parameters. The double integral term enables the model to effectively handle the interference of constant noise, linear noise, and other noises. Using the Lyapunov approach, we theoretically analyze and show the convergence and robustness of the proposed EANZNN model. Experimental findings showcase that in scenarios involving linear, constant noise and noise-free environments, the EANZNN model exhibits superior performance compared to traditional models like the Double Integral-Enhanced ZNN (DIEZNN) and the Parameter-Changing ZNN (PCZNN). The bit error rate (BER) in relation to the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) serves as a widely recognized metric for assessing the performance of communication systems. The concept of SNR is so integral that many existing studies presume its definition to be understood, often omitting the specifics of its calculation in their simulations. Notably, the computation of SNR from the perspective of the transmitter yields distinct behaviors and outcomes compared to that from the receiver's side, particularly when the channel encompasses more than mere noise. Typically, research papers utilize the transmitter-side (or ensemble-average) SNR to benchmark the BER performance across various methodologies. Conversely, the receiver-side (or short-term) SNR becomes pertinent when prioritizing the receiver's performance. In the context of simulating the long-term evolution (LTE) downlink, applying both SNR calculation approaches reveals that the receiver-side SNR not only produces a significantly lower BER compared to the transmitter-side SNR but also alters the relative BER performance rankings among the channel models tested. It is deduced that while the transmitter-side SNR is apt for broad performance comparisons, it falls short in thoroughly examining the BER behavior of a receiver across varying SNR scenarios. Therefore, the transmitter-side SNR is useful when comparing the performance of the simulated system with other studies. Phase unwrapping technology can reflect the true phase information of an image, but it is affected by adverse factors such as noise, shadows, and fractures when extracting the true phase information of an object. Therefore, corresponding unwrapping algorithms need to be studied for different interference images. This paper summarizes and analyzes various phase unwrapping algorithms and ultimately selects the required method based on their advantages and disadvantages. Using the four-step phase-shift method to reconstruct the phase of the optical field and then combining it with the least squares method to unwrap the phase through multiple improvement iterations, the simulated collected interference fringe images are simulated using the MATLAB program to complete the phase unwrapping of the interference information field. In this paper, we propose a novel equivalent composite control architecture for electro-optical equipment. The improved tracking performance and loss of robustness caused by this structure have a clear relationship with a 2 , the time coefficient of the compensation circuit. The compensation circuit can make the speed quality factor and the acceleration quality factor of the system infinite, and the jerk quality factor can be expanded to 1 / a 2 times the original acceleration quality factor, but it will cause a main zero point of the servo system to be far away from the virtual axis and the main poles to be close to the virtual axis. As the time coefficient of the compensation loop controller decreases, the tracking performance of the system increases, but the robustness decreases, the dynamic response deteriorates, the water bed effect becomes more obvious, and the system is more susceptible to noise and disturbances. Compared to the existing method, our method focuses on system performance and robustness. Experimental results show that our method can achieve target tracking with a peak accuracy of 64 ″ and 22 ″ (RMS), which is superior to the tracking performance without equivalent composite control. Increasing array gains is one of the keys to improving underwater targets' detection capabilities. This paper presents a high-gain approach for a vector hydrophone vertical array (VHVA) that combines white noise gain constraint (WNGC) with vector joint processing to preserve strong robustness and provide noticeable gains. Firstly, this approach treats the VHVA as four independent sub-arrays and achieves sub-array supergains by decorrelating noise using WNGC. The beam outputs of the four sub-arrays are then equated to a single-vector hydrophone, the combination gain of which is obtained by leveraging the strong signal correlation and the weak noise correlation between the sound pressure and the particle velocity. Lastly, the sub-array supergain and combination gain are superposed to provide the spatial gain of the VHVA. It is also summarized that low-frequency signals, coherent noise, accurate elevation-angle estimation, and stable phase differences are required for the VHVA to achieve supergain. The simulation and sea trial confirm that this approach can effectively boost the array gain. The maximum spatial gain in the experiment was increased by 9 dB at a range twice the sea's depth while operating at a low frequency. This paper provides a comprehensive theoretical derivation of the residual noise power and effective isotropic isolation (EII) signal models in baseband digital cancellation, aperture-level digital cancellation, and beamforming spatial cancellation models in simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) arrays. We simulated and analyzed the isolation performance and self-interference (SI) noise cancellation of STAR systems using digital SI cancellation (SIC) and beamforming in a 32-element planar array. The simulation results show that in the absence of SIC or baseband digital SIC, the EII obtained by receive adaptive beamforming (ABF) is 20 dB higher than that obtained by transmit ABF. On the basis of aperture-level digital SIC, the EII obtained from transmit ABF and receive ABF is basically the same. The EII obtained by baseband digital SIC is 22.5 dB and 41.1 dB lower than that of transmit ABF and receive ABF, respectively. One of the significant challenges with traditional single-task learning-based anomaly detection using noisy hyperspectral images (HSIs) is the loss of anomaly targets during denoising, especially when the noise and anomaly targets are similar. This issue significantly affects the detection accuracy. To address this problem, this paper proposes a multitask learning (MTL)-based method for detecting anomalies in noisy HSIs. Firstly, a preliminary detection approach based on the JointNet model, which decomposes the noisy HSI into a pure background and a noise–anomaly target mixing component, is introduced. This approach integrates the minimum noise fraction rotation (MNF) algorithm into an autoencoder (AE), effectively isolating the noise while retaining critical features for anomaly detection. Building upon this, the JointNet model is further optimized to ensure that the noise information is shared between the denoising and anomaly detection subtasks, preserving the integrity of the training data during the anomaly detection process and resolving the issue of losing anomaly targets during denoising. A novel loss function is designed to enable the joint learning of both subtasks under the multitask learning model. In addition, a noise score evaluation metric is introduced to calculate the probability of a pixel being an anomaly target, allowing for a clear distinction between noise and anomaly targets, thus providing the final anomaly detection results. The effectiveness of the proposed model and method is validated via testing on the HYDICE and San Diego datasets. The denoising metric results of the PSNR, SSIM, and SAM are 41.79, 0.91, and 4.350 and 42.83, 0.93, and 3.558 on the HYDICE and San Diego datasets, respectively. The anomaly detection ACU is 0.943 and 0.959, respectively. The proposed method outperforms the other algorithms, demonstrating that the reconstructed images using this method exhibited lower noise levels and more complete image information, and the JointNet model outperforms the mainstream HSI anomaly detection algorithms in both the quantitative evaluation and visual effect, showcasing its improved detection capabilities. Accurate parameters are crucial in modern energy systems to ensure the reliable operation of all components. Given the substantial volume of data in monitored systems, high-performance methods are necessary. This paper proposes a new Bayesian multi-output regressor for estimating the parameters of a three-phase transmission line. The presented approach achieves acceptable accuracy in parameter estimation using only one end of the line. The Bayesian regressor is developed using information derived from the data themselves, eliminating the need to explicitly model the system. This capability allows the method to estimate parameters while accommodating different noise models, even in the presence of systematic errors and non-Gaussian random noise. The methodology was validated on various systems, including a two-bus system, IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 39-bus, and IEEE 118-bus, under diverse conditions such as varying sample sizes, loads, and noise levels. Joint localization and synchronization (JLAS) is a technology that simultaneously determines the spatial locations of user nodes and synchronizes the clocks between user nodes (UNs) and anchor nodes (ANs). This technology is crucial for various applications in wireless sensor networks. Existing solutions for JLAS are either computationally demanding or not resilient to noise. This paper addresses the challenge of localizing and synchronizing a mobile user node in broadcast-based JLAS systems using sequential one-way time-of-arrival (TOA) measurements. The AN position uncertainty is considered along with clock offset and skew. Two redundant variables that couple the unknowns are introduced to pseudo-linearize the measurement equation. In projecting the equation to the nullspace spanned by the coefficients of the redundant variables, the affection of them can be eliminated. While the closed-form projection solution provides an initial point for iteration, it is suboptimal and may not achieve the Cramér-Rao lower bound (CRLB) when noise or AN position error is relatively large. To improve performance, we propose a novel robust iterative solution (RIS) formulated through factor graphs and developed via message passing. The RIS outperforms the common Gauss–Newton iteration, especially in high-noise scenarios. It exhibits a lower root mean-square error (RMSE) and a higher probability of converging to the optimal solution, while maintaining manageable computational complexity. Gearbox fault diagnosis is essential in the maintenance and preventive repair of industrial systems. However, in actual working environments, noise frequently interferes with fault signals, consequently reducing the accuracy of fault diagnosis. To effectively address this issue, this paper incorporates the noise attenuation of the DRSN-CW model. A compound fault detection method for gearboxes, integrated with a cross-attention module, is proposed to enhance fault diagnosis performance in noisy environments. First, frequency domain features are extracted from the public dataset by using the fast Fourier transform (FFT). Furthermore, the cross-attention mechanism model is inserted in the optimal position to improve the extraction and recognition rate of global and local fault features. Finally, noise-related features are filtered through soft thresholds within the network structure to efficiently mitigate noise interference. This paper presents the design, simulation, prototyping, and measurement results of a digitally tunable fourth order Gm-C low-pass filter (LPF) for multi-standard radio receivers. The LPF cut-off frequency can be tunned by digitally selecting the transconductance of the basic reconfigurable operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) that compose the circuit. Four operation modes allow for control of the OTA transconductances and, consequently, the scaling of power consumption. The filter was designed and prototyped in a 1.8 V 180 nm CMOS process. The measurement results indicate that the configurability provides a cutoff frequency of 1.90/3.56/6.07/8.15 MHz with a power consumption ranging from 9.9 to 13.1 mW. The designed filter achieves an IIP3 of 8.17 dBm for a signal bandwidth of 8.15 MHz. The performance, in terms of power dissipation, noise, and cut-off frequency, is at the same order of magnitude compared to recent related works reported in the literature. The advantages are a compact area, small sensitivity to component mismatches, and low design complexity. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is often used to detect targets in a construction environment. Due to the different construction environments, the noise exhibits different characteristics on the GPR signal. When the noise is widely distributed on the GPR signal, and its spectrum and the spectrum of the active signal are aliased, it is difficult to separate and suppress the noise by traditional filtering methods. In this paper, we propose a deep learning GPR image noise suppression method based on a recursive guided and dual multi-scale self-attention mechanism neural network (RG-DMSA-NN), which uses a recursive guidance module and a dual multi-scale self-attention mechanism module to improve the feature extraction ability of the image and enhance the robustness and generalization ability in image noise suppression. RGB-D saliency object detection (SOD) primarily segments the most salient objects from a given scene by fusing RGB images and depth maps. Due to the inherent noise in the original depth map, fusion failures may occur, leading to performance bottlenecks. To address this issue, this paper proposes a mutual learning and boosting segmentation network (MLBSNet) for RGB-D saliency object detection, which consists of a deep optimization module (DOM), a semantic alignment module (SAM), a cross-modal integration (CMI) module, and a separate reconstruct decoder (SRD). Specifically, the deep optimization module aims to obtain optimal depth information by learning the similarity between the original and predicted depth maps. To eliminate the uncertainty of single-modal neighboring features and capture the complementary features of multiple modalities, a semantic alignment module and a cross-modal integration module are introduced. Finally, a separate reconstruct decoder based on a multi-source feature integration mechanism is constructed to overcome the accuracy loss caused by segmentation. The switched reluctance motor (SRM) has many merits, such as robustness, a simple construction, low cost, and no permanent magnets. However, its deployment in servo applications is restrained due to acoustic noise and torque ripple (TR). This paper presents a new torque control approach for TR reduction in switched reluctance drives. The approach is based on the maximum utilisation of the available dc-link voltage, hence extending the zero torque-ripple speed range. The approach is suitable for an SRM with any number of phases and stator/rotor poles. Soft switching control is deployed, which reduces switching losses. At any instant (regardless of the number of phases being conducted simultaneously), only one phase current is controlled. In recent years, the State Grid of China has placed significant emphasis on the monitoring of noise in substations, driven by growing environmental concerns. This paper presents a substation noise monitoring system designed based on an end-network-cloud architecture, aiming to acquire and analyze substation noise, and report anomalous noise levels that exceed national standards for substation operation and maintenance. To collect real-time noise data at substations, a self-developed noise acquisition device is developed, enabling precise analysis of acoustic characteristics. Moreover, to subtract the interfering environmental background noise (bird/insect chirping, human voice, etc.) and determine if noise exceedances are originating from substation equipment, an intelligent noise separation algorithm is proposed by leveraging the convolutional time-domain audio separation network (Conv-TasNet), dual-path recurrent neural network (DPRNN), and dual-path transformer network (DPTNet), respectively, and evaluated under various scenarios. Experimental results show that (1) deep-learning-based separation algorithms outperform the traditional spectral subtraction method, where the signal-to-distortion ratio improvement (SDRi) and the scale-invariant signal-to-noise ratio improvement (SI-SNRi) of Conv-TasNet, DPRNN, DPTNet and the traditional spectral subtraction are 12.6 and 11.8, 13.6 and 12.4, 14.2 and 12.9, and 4.6 and 4.1, respectively; (2) DPTNet and DPRNN exhibit superior performance in environment noise separation and substation equipment noise separation, respectively; and (3) 91% of post-separation data maintains sound pressure level deviations within 1 dB, showcasing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in separating interfering noises while preserving the accuracy of substation noise sound pressure levels. With the emergence of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) systems, it is important to investigate how deteriorating network parameters affect vehicle functionality based on wireless communication. It is important to determine how we can prevent the performance degradation of these functions and ensure safety on the roads. This paper examines the potential for enhancing the performance of a connected vehicle function by considering network parameters in the control algorithm. In order to achieve this, a safety indicator was incorporated into the control algorithm, which takes into account both vehicle dynamics and network parameters. Lost circulation, a common risk during the drilling process, significantly impacts drilling safety and efficiency. The presence of data noise and temporal evolution characteristics pose significant challenges to the accurate monitoring of lost circulation. Traditional supervised intelligent monitoring methods rely on large amounts of labeled data, which often do not consider temporal fluctuations in data, leading to insufficient accuracy and transferability. To address these issues, this paper proposes an unsupervised time series autoencoder (BiLSTM-AE) intelligent monitoring model for lost circulation, aiming to overcome the limitations of supervised algorithms. The BiLSTM-AE model employs BiLSTM for both the encoder and decoder, enabling it to comprehensively capture the temporal features and dynamic changes in the data. It learns the patterns of normal data sequences, thereby automatically identifying anomalous risk data points that deviate from the normal patterns during testing. Results show that the proposed model can efficiently identify and monitor lost circulation risks, achieving an accuracy of 92.51%, a missed alarm rate of 6.87%, and a false alarm rate of 7.71% on the test set. Accurate object tracking in low-light environments is crucial, particularly in surveillance, ethology applications, and biometric recognition systems. However, achieving this is significantly challenging due to the poor quality of captured sequences. Factors such as noise, color imbalance, and low contrast contribute to these challenges. This paper presents a comprehensive study examining the impact of these distortions on automatic object trackers. Additionally, we propose a solution to enhance the tracking performance by integrating denoising and low-light enhancement methods into the transformer-based object tracking system. The Broad Learning System (BLS) has demonstrated strong performance across a variety of problems. However, BLS based on the Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) criterion is highly sensitive to label noise. To enhance the robustness of BLS in environments with label noise, a function called Logarithm Kernel (LK) is designed to reweight the samples for outputting weights during the training of BLS in order to construct a Logarithm Kernel-based BLS (L-BLS) in this paper. Additionally, for image databases with numerous features, a Mixture Autoencoder (MAE) is designed to construct more representative feature nodes of BLS in complex label noise environments. For the MAE, two corresponding versions of BLS, MAEBLS, and L-MAEBLS were also developed. Patch level-based noise level estimation (NLE) is often inaccurate and inefficient because of the harsh criteria required to select a small number of homogeneous patches. In this paper, a fast image NLE method based on a global search for similar pixels is proposed to solve the above problem. Specifically, the mean square distance (MSD) is first expressed in the form of the standard deviation (std) and mean value of image patches. Afterward, the two values, std and mean, are calculated and stored in advance. Then, a 2D statistical histogram and summed area table are adopted to speed up the search for similar patches. Further, the most similar pixels are selected from similar patches to obtain an initial estimation. Finally, we correct the deviation of the initial estimation by re-injecting noise for secondary estimation. The acoustic performance of automotive micro-motors directly impacts the comfort and driving experience of both drivers and passengers. However, various motor production and testing uncertainties can lead to noise fluctuations during operation. Thus, predicting the operational noise range of motors on the production line in advance becomes crucial for timely adjustments to production parameters and process optimization. This paper introduces a prediction model based on a Multi-Branch Channel–Spatial Adaptive Weighting Strategy (MCSAWS). The model includes a multi-branch feature extraction (MFE) network and a channel–spatial attention module (CSAM). It uses the vibration and noise data from micro-motors' idle operations on the production line as input to efficiently predict the operational noise uncertainty interval of automotive micro-motors. The model employs the VAE-GAN approach for data augmentation (DA) and uses Gammatone filters to emphasize the noise at the commutation frequency of the motor. The model was compared with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Multilayer Perceptrons (MLPs). Experimental results demonstrate that the MCSAWS method is superior to conventional methods in prediction accuracy and reliability, confirming the feasibility of the proposed approach. Light field (LF) image depth estimation is a critical technique for LF-related applications such as 3D reconstruction, target detection, and tracking. The refocusing property of LF images provide rich information for depth estimations; however, it is still challenging in cases of occlusion regions, edge regions, noise interference, etc. The epipolar plane image (EPI) of LF can effectively deal with the depth estimation because of its characteristics of multidirectionality and pixel consistency—in which the LF depth estimations are converted to calculate the EPI slope. This paper proposed an EPI LF depth estimation algorithm based on a directional relationship model and attention mechanism. Unlike the subaperture LF depth estimation method, the proposed method takes EPIs as input images. Specifically, a directional relationship model was used to extract direction features of the horizontal and vertical EPIs, respectively. Then, a multiviewpoint attention mechanism combining channel attention and spatial attention is used to give more weight to the EPI slope information. Subsequently, multiple residual modules are used to eliminate the redundant features that interfere with the EPI slope information—in which a small stride convolution operation is used to avoid losing key EPI slope information.
