The incoming inspection process in any manufacturing plant aims to control quality, reduce manufacturing costs, eliminate scrap, and process failure downtime due to defective raw materials. Prediction of the raw material acceptance rate can regulate the raw material supplier selection and improve the manufacturing process by filtering out non-conformities. This paper presents a raw material acceptance prediction model (RMAP) developed based on the Markov analysis. RFID tags are used to track the parts throughout the process. A secondary dataset can be derived from the raw RFID data. In this study, a dataset is simulated to reflect a typical incoming inspection process consisting of six substations (Packaging Inspection, Visual Inspection, Gauge Inspection, Rework1, and Rework2) are considered. The accepted parts are forwarded to the Pack and Store station and stored in the warehouse. The non-conforming parts are returned to the supplier. The proposed RMAP model estimates the probability of the raw material being accepted or rejected at each inspection station. The proposed model is evaluated using three test cases: case A (lower conformities), case B (higher conformities) and case C (equal chances of being accepted and rejected). Based on the outcome of the limiting matrix for the three test cases, the results are discussed. The steady-state matrix forecasts the probability of the raw material in a random state. This prediction and forecasting ability of the proposed model enables the industries to save time and cost.

The increase in population is directly proportional to the use of goods/materials, resulting in the volume of waste produced. If it is not processed, an increase in the volume of waste will lead to the emergence of piles of waste and the need for landfill land to accommodate waste is higher. One solution to solve the waste problem is to convert waste into fuel through Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). This research aimed to study the characteristics of the landfill and its potential as an RDF raw material. The research was conducted at the Terjun Landfill in Medan. This study found that the water content of the waste ranged from 12.88 percent to 38.35 percent, the ash content from 0.625 percent to 1.575 percent, and the calorific value from 12,13 MJ/Kg to 36,58 MJ/Kg. According to the findings, inorganic combustible fraction waste can be used as a raw material for RDF and a substitute for coal.

The increasing development in Indonesia today will require higher portland cement consumption. Good quality cement comes from good quality raw materials. A research was conducted in the Gunem area, Rembang, Central Java which is a limestone quarry of PT Semen Indonesia. The research aims to determine physical properties of the limestone and determine the percentage of CaO and MgO and determine the quality of limestone as raw material for Portland cement. This research uses several methods, which are megascopic analysis, petrographic analysis and XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) analysis. The results shows that wackestone has the lowest content of CaO and the highest content of MgO, while packstone and grainstone have the highest content of CaO and the lowest content of MgO. Packstone and grainstone are classified as high grade for cement raw material, while wackestone is classified as low grade for cement raw material.

Sweet sorghum is a potential plant as a raw material for bioethanol. This plant has the potential to be developed in tropical, semi-tropical and arid climates. To obtain information on elite lines as raw material for ethanol, it is necessary to characterize qualitative and quantitative traits. This study aims to obtain information about the quantitative and qualitative characters of several sweet sorghum lines that have the potential as raw materials for bioethanol. The research was carried out from August to December 2019 on the Experimental Farm of Indonesian Cereals Research Institute (ICERI), at Maros, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The genetic materials used in this study were ten sweet sorghum lines, namely 15020B, 1115-C, 4-183ABEOTO, AB-6-1-1, EA-13-1-1, KL2, 10 (1-1), 23 (1-1), Buleleng Abang and WR2 and two varieties as check, namely Super-1 and Super-2, using a randomized block design in which genotype was the treatment factor. Qualitative data is explained by a descriptive method which refers to UPOV. Analysis of variance indicated significant differences in the quantitative and qualitative characters. Significantly different characters quantitatively were plant height, leaf length, leaf width, day to flowering, panicle length, and weight of 1000 grains. While the significant qualitative data are green leaf intensity, leaf bone color, pistil color, pistil length, dry stamen color, panicle shape, panicle density after pollination, self-pollination, husk color, husk length, grain color, seed shape, and endosperm texture. Based on morphological data, the promising elite lines as raw material for bioethanol were EA-13-1-1, KL2, WR2, Buleleng Abang, 61 (1-1) and 15020B. However, other scientific supporting data are needed to recommend superior sweet sorghum lines as raw material for bioethanol.

At present, the preservation of the consumer properties of berry products is an urgent problem. Use of fresh garden strawberries is limited by a short storage period and seasonality. Under optimal storage conditions in a normal atmosphere, the average shelf life of strawberries is from 2 to 9 days depending on the variety. To meet the needs of the population in garden strawberries and meet the physiological needs in a unique complex of biologically active substances, strawberries are subjected to different processing methods. Drying being a type of fruit and berry products processing has the following advantages: a significant increase in the shelf life of products, a decrease in the mass and storage volumes of dried berries, preservation of minerals, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, antioxidants, bioflavonoids and many biologically active compounds in berries. Modern drying technologies allow preserving the content of essential vitamins to its full extent. Comparison of two technologies for drying garden strawberries has established that vitamins and other biologically active substances are well preserved in berries. Berries dried by convective vacuum-impulse method (CVI) are recommended to be used for food enrichment.

Aceh Province has a great potential fish resource, sustainable Potential on Capture Fisheries about 272,707 tons and total Capture Fishery Production is 208,200,830, moreover this potential has not been utilized optimally. The cached Fish at Koetaradja Fishing Port Banda Aceh are still abundant, so it is possible to be proceed industrially either at micro or macro scale. This study aims to examine the needs of the fishing industry in Aceh Province about the need of fish raw materials and to find out the type and amount of raw materials needed by a fish processing industry (macro scale) in Banda Aceh city. In addition, interviews and questionnaires were used as the instruments in collecting data. This research was conducted to five macro-scale fishery processing companies in Banda Aceh City there are PT. Aceh Samudera Bahari, PT. Aceh Lampulo Jaya Bahari, CV. Thunnus Saputra, PT. Sure Tuna Pacific and CV. Barakah Sumber Bahari. The results showed that there were 3 types of fish used as the processed raw materials, there are skipjack, tuna and kite fish. Skipjack tuna is the most fish needed by every processed industry. The need for fish raw materials at PT. Aceh Samudera Bahari requires skipjack tuna raw materials about 58,098 Kg/month (697,176 Kg/year), At PT. Aceh Lampulo Jaya Bahari requires the raw materials for skipjack tuna about 25,972 Kg/month (311,664 Kg/year, PT. Yakin Tuna Pasifik requires raw materials for skipjack tuna about 52,788 Kg/month (633,456 Kg/year), and CV. Barakah Sumber Bahari requires 20,498 Kg/month of skipjack fish raw materials (245,976 Kg/year). The total of all skipjack tuna raw materials needed by these 5 companies in one year is 3,205,224 Kg.

The problem of using wood materials in residential premises is closely related to the issues of forestry. This is due to the fact that the wood subsequently processed into materials and products emits a gas harmful to humans - formaldehyde. In Russia, there are strict requirements for the permissible level of formaldehyde in the air (0.01 mg/m3) both in residential premises and in the atmosphere. The environmentally friendly wood emits formaldehyde. The emission of formaldehyde may exceed the permissible level up to 10 times when obtaining chipboards using urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde resins. Such an excess of the permissible level of formaldehyde is especially characteristic for chipboards. Moreover, a much larger amount of formaldehyde is emitted from urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde resins during their hot curing than it is in the liquid resin in its free form. Therefore, much attention in this work is paid to the curing process of urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde resins in relation to the manufacturing conditions of chipboards. The study of this process was based on the models related to the manufacturing conditions of chipboards using the microscopy method. It was found that some formaldehyde is preserved in vapor-gas bubbles and eventually moves out the chipboards.

Palm Oil Fly Ash (POFA) has been considered as a potential source of silica for paper filler. The objective of this work is to prepare a filler from the Palm Oil Fly Ash (POFA) to reduce disposal and waste problem. The extraction of silica from POFA can be carried out using solution of 5 M NaOH with ratio 1:5 (w/w, with respect to POFA), stirring speed of 600 rpm for 4 hours, resulting the 0.8770 M silica in Na2SiO3. The product is then reacted with Ca(OH)2 to produce paper filler (CaSiO3). The filler was characterized with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Disperse X-Ray (SEM-EDX), X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) and Particle Size Analyzer (PSA). FTIR spectrum showed the formation of OH, C = O, Si-O-Ca and Si-O-Si functional groups, whereas the SEM-EDX analysis revealed the porous surface with the aggregation of needle-like morphology and contained five elements such as O (45,14%), Mg (0,85%), Si (15,65%), Ca (36,77%) and Al (1,59%). Meanwhile, XRD spectroscopy showed the presence of calcium silicate, calcite, vaterite, calcium hydroxide and quartz. Data from PSA analysis indicated that the filler has narrow particle size distribution compared with commercial fillers (GCC & PCC) and has small average particle size compared with PCC. The filler and the commercial counterparts were then applied as a paper simulation (hand sheet). Analysis of hand sheet showed that the presence of the synthetic filler in the hand sheet can improve brightness, opacity and bulk values, but slightly reduced in tensile and tearing index compared to that of PCC & GCC.

Food and culinary business are growing, especially the variety of consumer demand. Business owners need to continue to develop various food menus to suit consumer needs. Various types of raw materials and food additives are used to produce foods with the best flavour. On the other hand, culinary business owners are required to be able to be adaptive to meet the needs of consumers efficiently and meet the requirements of food safety and halal. The material analysis problem is the complexity of the food menu, and it requires a lot of effort and time to analyse its constituent materials. Therefore, manual checking is not efficient, especially if it had to track the halal and legal information on raw material and food additives. One way to improve the efficiency of raw material uses and identify halal food is to use a bill of material analysis. Through this analysis, business owners can specify raw materials and food additives while recognising the halal nature of the ingredients used. The use of the bill of materials is expected to facilitate menu breakdown and to track the halal of raw materials and additional ingredients. This study aims to analyse food menus in culinary businesses and build a framework of the bill of material standards that can later be used and applied to culinary businesses. This study uses a system analysis and design approach where there is a requirement identification analysis stage as the basis for a framework for developing a bill of materials information system.

The recycling paper industry has a good potential market. The industry used recycled paper such as Old Corrugated Containers (OCC), Old Newspaper (ONP), mixed waste paper, and Sorted White Ledger (SWL) as raw material. In Indonesia, commonly, the industry got the raw material of about 50% by importing. The government provides regulation to ensure the sustainability of the industrial activity, that is the process of importing recycled paper and internal regulation to increase local raw materials. The objectives of the research were to study the chosen raw material for the recycling paper industry and to analyze the positioning strategy of consumption raw material for the recycling paper industry in Indonesia. This research used a qualitative description method by the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Strength Weakness Opportunities Threat (SWOT) analysis. The data were obtained from a questionnaire distributed to the paper industry, paper researcher, and relevant agencies. Based on AHP, the strength criteria to choose raw material is the regulation and availability of raw material with values 0.323 and 0.243; and the alternative chosen is recycled paper raw material import. The result of SWOT analysis, the recycling paper industry in Indonesia, has an Internal Factor Analysis Strategy (IFAS) 0.05, and an External Factor Analysis Strategy (EFAS) - 0.03. That showed from SWOT quadrant matrix, the position coordinate point of IFAS and EFAS in quadrant II. That means the positioning strategy is diversification. The government, recycling paper industry, and relevant agencies to corporate to increase the collecting rate of recycled paper.

The availability of raw materials is the key to the implementation of production activities so that suppliers, who are able to supply according to the needs of the company, are needed. If the material that comes is not according to the specifications requested, even though the supplier changes so that the amount of material is still fulfilled, it still causes disruption to the smooth production process. The aim of this study is to assess the supplier’s performance to optimize allocated raw material. This research was conducted at an animal feed factory. The raw materials used include yellow corn and rice bran, obtained from several suppliers. The raw material that comes in part is rejected because it is not in accordance with the requested specifications, among others due to excessive water content, mushroom content and the content of corn cobs that exceed the established limit. In this study, carried out a performance analysis of suppliers referring to 23 supplier assessment criteria by Dickson and used 6 selected criteria, namely quality, delivery, history of supplier performance, claim and guarantee policies, prices and communication systems. The optimal amount of raw material orders from the results of goal programming is allocated to each supplier based on their performance.

Epoxy is a compound that is produced from the reaction between double bond inside the fatty acid and active oxygen. This compound could be applied as a stabilizer, plasticizer on PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and could be used an antioxidant in processing natural rubber, surfactant, anti-corrosive-additive agent on lubricant, and as raw material for pesticide. The raw material in this study was papaya seed oil. The aim of this research to get the effect of catalyst concentration, amount of H2O2(ml) and stirring rate (rpm) on the characteristics of epoxy compounds. In this study, fatty acid, which was contained in raw material, was reacted to hexane, glacial acetic acid, H2O2with the variation of 40ml, 50ml, 60ml, and 70ml, sulfuric acid as a catalyst with variation, stirring velocity with variation of 400 rpm, 500 rpm and 600 rpm for 180 minutes. The result of this study showed that the best epoxy compound result was acquired at 2.5% of catalyst concentration, 70ml H2O2and 600 rpm of stirring speed, where the oxirane oxygen value was reached 3.52, iodine number was 10,4058 and oxygen conversion was 73, 76471%.

Yam (Dioscorea alata L.) is a vine and twisted stems plant, which are easily wrapped around poles. Yam is a perennial tuber plant grown as an annual plant. Yam contains carbohydrates with low levels of sugar, amylose, minerals, fat, protein and fiber. This research objective was to explore the physico-chemical of white yam and purple yam as raw material for processed cakes. Fourteen accessions of yam, consisting of 7 accessions of white yam and 7 accessions of purple yam are obtained from a previous personal collection from community gardens in 2009 located in Banggai Islands Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The determination of carbohydrate content was carried out by hydrolysis method, amylose content by iodometry, moisture content was measured by oven drying method, ash content was obtained by using dry ashes method, fat content measured using Soxhlet method and crude fiber content using Gravimetric method. The results show that purple yam physico-chemical exploration was higher on average than white yam, except for the protein in white yam (6.96%) slightly higher than purple yam (6.57%). Purple yam contains the highest water content (10.6%) while white yam has the lowest (7.42 %). The carbohydrate content of purple yam was 79.4% which was higher than white yam (73.41%). Furthermore, the level amylose content of purple yam was on average (9.05%) higher than white yam (6.93%). The total sugar content of purple yam was 0.75% higher than white yam (0.57%). The ash content was relatively the same between purple yam and white yam (2.35% and 2.25%, respectively). The fat content of purple yam is slightly higher than white yam (0.28% and 0.19%, respectively). In terms of protein content, purple yam was lower than white yam (6.57% and 6.96%, respectively). The crude fiber content of purple yam is 1.83% which is higher than white yam (1.11%).

Coal mining industry raw material bases analysis of allocated, newly introduced and unsold subsoil reserve fund demonstrates a fast depletion of the reserves with favorable geological factors of mining which meet the requirements of traditional mining technologies. In the coming years meeting the demand on certain technological coal ranks (K, KZh, KC, KCN, KO, OC, TC, CC) cannot be provided without exploiting coal deposit sites that contain hard to recover reserves and without developing and implementing new mining technologies oriented on complex mining and geological conditions. It requires a special program for fulfilling scientific researches on the development of methodological approaches, technical and technological solutions and testing new technologies for hard to recover coal reserves which can provide rational subsurface resources utilization and protection.

Shortly after the rain falls to the surface of the soil, the water flows into the water body or seeps into the ground without being optimally utilized. The low chemical and physical components are the main drawbacks of rainwater utilization. The raw material for fertilizer in this research is rainwater, so we call it rain fertilizer (rainfer). The main components of the additive are Bryophyta, sp, monosodium glutamate, hydrated lime, sodium chloride. They are added to enrich the physical and chemical components. The rainfer reactor is cylindrical with a maximum capacity of 70 liters. As much as 35 litres of rainwater plus additive is put into the reactor and stirred using a pump for 15 minutes until homogeneous. Let the mixture sit for 7 x 24 hours. The results showed that the addition of additives succeeded in increasing the parameters of TDS and conductivity respectively by 98.68% and 99.03%. The concentration of nitrate as nitrogen increased by 96.54%, from 1.13 mg/L to 32.67 mg/L. The final pH was 7.78, total P was 78.47 mg/L, total K was 0.03 mg/L, and heavy metal Cu was 0.06 mg/L. The level of toxicity based on the germination index value was 70.16% compared to the control, which is equivalent to mature and stable compost. The addition of additives can improve the quality of rainwater based on physical, chemical, and non-toxic parameters.

A research on the effectiveness test of sunscreen cream made of coconut oil as raw material and active ingredients of bay (Eugenia polyantha Wight) leaf ethanol extract and TiO2 has been conducted. Sunscreen cream was made by emulsifying the water phase (distilled water, glycerin, methyl paraben and triethanolamine = TEA) which has been heated to 70° C and oil phase (lanoline, cetyl alcohol, stearic acid, coconut oil and prophyl paraben) which has been heated to 70° C as well and it was added an active ingredient of TiO2. The mixture was then added the bay leaf ethanol extract and was stirred, until a homogeneous cream was formed. The resulting cream was determined its properties such as pH, viscosity, absorption of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and sun protection factor (SPF). From the SPF value calculated, then the effectiveness of sunscreen creams could be determined. The results showed that the resulting creams have a pH of 7.55-7.75, viscosity of 4000-10800 cps. If TiO2 is added to a cream containing 0.5% bay leaf ethanol extract, the SPF value of the cream will increase. If the concentration of TiO2 added to the cream is increased, the SPF of the cream will also increase. Cream with bay leaf ethanol extract of 0.5% and 6% TiO2, has an SPF value of 3.101 and is included in the low protection category of sunscreens.

Mealybugs are pests that cause economic losses to cultivated crops such as papaya and cocoa. Mealybug pests cause productivity and fruit quality to decrease. Control using botanical insecticides that are more environmentally friendly can be done, one of which is using gamal leaves (Gliricidia maculata). Research on the potential of gamal leaves as a vegetable insecticide has been carried out in the last 10 years. To develop it into a botanical insecticide formula, a basic study is neededlevels of flavonoids and their toxicity to storage time. This study aims to determine the toxicity and levels of active compounds in the form of flavonoids on the storage time of gamal leaf powder. The test used raw materials for gamal leaves from 3 different origin of plant, namely North Lampung, West Lampung, and Pringsewu in the form of a powder which is then extracted using water and methanol as a solvent. The toxicity test used bioassay with the residual effect of two extracts, namely water extract and methanol extract against mealybugs. Mortality data were analyzed using probit analysis to determine LC50. The correlation between storage time and toxicity was analyzed using correlation analysis with the SPSS application.. The yield of methanol and water extract was decrease 1.05% – 9.41% and 0.34% - 34.70% this indicate that extract methanol of G. maculata more stable than water extract.The LC50 value from the probit analysis tended to increase between 0.011% - 0.077% with the storage time of powder raw materials, this indicated a decrease in the effectiveness of the toxicity between 28.2 - 78.1% depending on the type of origin of plant gamal leaf. The results show that the storage time of 6 - 24 months does not have significant effect on the stability of the toxicity and yield of the insecticide raw material powder from gamal leaves, but the longer the storage time, the lower the toxicity

Ripe plantain flour is a diversification of food products based on ripe plantains. Processing plantains into flour can increase the added value of banana/plantain commodities. This study aims to obtain the best plantain cultivars as raw material for ripe flour and to determine the quality of selected ripe plantain flour. Plantain cultivars used in this study were tanduk cultivar (Musa acuminata xMusa balbisiana (AAB) cv. ’Tanduk’), kapas cultivar (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana (AAB) cv. ’Kapas’), siam cultivar (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana (ABB) cv. ’Siam’), kepok putih cultivar (Musa acuminata x Musa balbisiana (ABB) cv. ’Kepokputih ’), and raja bulu cultivar (Musa acuminata xMusa balbisiana (AAB) cv. ‘Raja Bulu’). Each treatment were repeated three times. The method used in this study was the De Garmo method. Product selection was determined based on the weight of each product on certain parameters. The highest product value was the selected product. The results showed that the tanduk plantain cultivar was the best cultivar for ripe plantain flour. Tanduk flour has a yield (15.218%), color (L = 54.226), moisture content (8.914%), starch (60,267%), hygroscopic (0.1173 g moisture/100 g dry solid), peak time (6.889 minutes), pasting temperature (94.800 ° C), and organoleptic with an average value of color attributes (5.3), aroma (4.4), overall (4.7).

Mineralogical and geochemical investigations were carried out to determine the characteristics of limestone in the Wonosari Formation and to suggest its depositional environment and a preliminary study for the properties of Portland Cement. The study was conducted at Ponjong Area, Gunungkidul Regency, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The outcrop in this study area is composed of Wonosari layered limestone. Based on the facies interpretation in the research area, there are three depositional units: packstone, wackstone, and grainstone. This area’s depositional environment is the back reef lagoon and sand apron zones that are not related to the open sea. According to XRF data, limestone showed a reasonably high composition of CaO compounds, about 53.78% - 59.09%. Most limestone samples were classified as good quality as Portland Cement Raw Material due to CaO content >49%. The MgO, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, SO3, K2O, Na2O, TiO2, and P2O5 compounds also fulfil the Indonesian National Standard (SNI-15-2049-2004). Geochemical content shows limestone has a higher grain percentage than the matrix. The utilization of limestone in research area are expected to be a reference for the development of natural resources in the future that pay attention to the environment for mutual sustainability.

Feed is a major factor in determining the success of aquaculture business. The quality and quantity of feeding properly will maximize the growth of fish. Various research and application of technology has been made to obtain alternative feed source so as to reduce the level of dependence on the food production industry. The eutrophication condition of Rawapening Lake has triggered the water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) to grow out of control. It speeds up the loss of water weeds, cover the surface of the water into the fishing area and degrade water quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of water hyacinth as an alternative fish feed ingredient. In addition, it is also an effort to control the growth of water hyacinth in Rawapening Lake. The descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach was chosen in this study. After making flour, water hyacinth has a protein content of 12.51%. Water hyacinth fine flour mixed with other ingredients including fish meal and fish feed bisamenghasilkan rice bran protein content of 30.2477%. The results of testing the stability of feed in water (Water Stability Feed) showed that the feed was destroyed after being immersed in cold water for 17 hours. The buoyancy test shows the feed is classified as a submerged type. The feed sinks because it has a specific gravity which is greater than the specific gravity of water. The feed hardness test shows that the feed is not destroyed after being given a load of 500 grams. The heavier the load that the feed can hold, it means the feed is getting harder. Protein content of 30.2477% indicates that alternative fish feed has competitive quality because it is able to meet the protein needs of cultivated fish. Especially fish cultivated in tropical areas which have lower protein requirements (20-30%).

Bioactive glass has high bioactive, osteoconductive, biocompatible, and soluble properties in body fluids, but has low mechanical properties. This material has great potential for medical applications as a matrix in composites with forsterite fillers. The presence of non-toxic forsterite can improve the mechanical properties of bioactive glass. The development of the material (BG/F) using the sol-gel method can produce a nano-scale granule size (∼ 19.6 nm) that corresponds to the size of the body cells. Apart from the size distribution and mechanical properties, the surface that is easy to bond with the bone is very interesting to study as an implant material. This narrative review analyzes the BG/F biocomposite associated with the use of sand and eggshells.

Coal fly ash is a hazardous waste of heat power engineering. The complex processing of it includes several stages, such as carbon flotation and magnetic separation of iron. This study focuses on carbon extraction by flotation method and iron by magnetic separation method from Kashirskaya GRES coal fly ash with subsequent reduction smelting of it. At optimal conditions were obtained carbon concentrate with 37% C and magnetic concentrate with 61% Fe2O3. The high-quality steelmaking pig iron with low P and S and high alumina slag were obtained at 1400 °C after reduction smelting mixture magnetic, and carbon concentrates.

In the production process a variety of products owned by PT. X are very high because the company does not have the same product to make every day. In the delivery of raw materials by suppliers there is also a delay in delivery caused by the empty stock of raw materials at the supplier and also the pre-order purchasing system. Problems with PT. X are planning demand and raw material inventory by considering demand uncertainly. As a first step in choosing the right inventory policy method, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test for normality test and ADI (Average Demand Interval) test are the classification of raw materials based on demand patterns. Of the five types of raw materials, the ADI value is 0, 91 and 1, which means < 1, 32. So that the completion of raw material inventory planning is done by probabilistic inventory policy method Continuous Review (Q) Back Order with Hadley - Within algorithm. The results of data processing are known to be the level of service of each type of raw material with the calculation of the proposed method, the average value of the service level for the five types of raw materials studied reaches 99, 30%. Where the probabilistic method of the Continuous Review System (Q) Hadley-Within algorithm, provides savings of 7,75% of the total cost of the existing inventory of the company.

Rubber companies often face problems with raw material inventory because obtained from nature. To anticipate shortages of inventory, companies usually buy raw materials in excess quantities. This will result in large inventory costs. This study aims to optimize the inventory control system of crumb rubber raw material in a case rubber company. It started with the demand forecasting of crumb rubber raw material. The level strategy method is then used to determine the production planning of crumb rubber. Finally, the fixed order quantity model is applied to determine the optimal inventory control of crumb rubber raw material. The results show the optimal inventory level of crumb rubber raw material is 988,881 Kg, with a reorder point is 526,570 Kg, and a safety stock is 342,302 Kg. It obtained the total inventory cost is IDR 1,843,689,421 per year. Inventory control is useful for ensuring the smooth production process and preventing excess or shortage of inventory. The results are expected can aid the rubber company in improving inventory control and minimize inventory costs.
