The article discusses the simulation of functioning of networks with moving nodes – vehicle ad-hoc networks, flying ad-hoc networks (VANET, FANET). Two problems were considered: simulation of messages broadcasting in a network with nodes on vehicles; simulation of data gathering from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), using for monitoring. The Manufacturing and Transportation Simulation System (MTSS) has been used to solve these optimization problems. This system is a set of software interfaces for creating elementary models and generating complex models. The special library of models to simulate networks with mobile objects has been created. Basic elementary model (EM) is a vehicle or a drone; this EM can be created either manually or automatically. The data transmission network with moving nodes is considered as a technological system consisting of transceiver devices installed on moving objects or on stationary objects. For networks with nodes on the UAVs, the movement of drones over a given territory, data transferring from nodes to stationary sinks have been simulated.
