Abstract

This paper presents a sense mode closed-loop method for dual-mass micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) gyroscope based on the bipole temperature compensation method. A pair of conjugate poles are investigated as the bottle neck of the sense closed-loop system of MEMS gyroscope, and the bipole temperature compensation proportional controller (BTCPC) is employed to realize the closed-loop: a pair of additional conjugate zeros are utilized to generate bipoles with poles. Since poles changes with temperature, thermal resistance is utilized in BTCPC to make zeros variable with temperatures. The BTCPC is designed very carefully to make the system have enough bandwidth and better performance. The overall gyroscope model is established and simulated either in the time domain or the frequency domain, and the results verify that the sense closed-loop works rapidly and steadily. The system is realized on PCBs and is tested on the turntable in temperature oven. The experimental results show that the bias stability, angular random walking, bias temperature coefficient, and the bandwidth values of sense open-loop and closed-loop are 2.168 °/h, 0.155 °/%/h, 9.534 °/h/°C, 13 Hz, and 2.168 °/h, 0.140 °/%/h (five tests average value), 5.991 °/h°C, 61 Hz, respectively.

41. Detecting Changes in the Spatiotemporal Pattern of Bike Sharing: A Change-Point Topic Model.

Abstract

Detecting latent changes in the spatiotemporal pattern of bike sharing is critical to recognizing the impacts of various exogenous factors and significant events. Although extensive studies have investigated the spatiotemporal pattern dynamics in transportation systems, research that explicitly models the changing regularity and captures its latent changes is very scarce. To fill this research gap, we develop a change-point topic model that incorporates multinomial logit models into multi-dimensional latent Dirichlet allocation to decompose the spatiotemporal pattern into a mixture of activity patterns; meanwhile, our model captures the changing regularity of activity prevalence and its latent changes by integrating Dirichlet multinomial regression and hidden Markov models. We estimate the parameters of our model based on collapsed Gibbs sampling. We conduct numerical experiments using publicly available bike sharing trip records collected in New York. Results show that our model successfully distinguishes several meaningful activity categories, such as commuting. Furthermore, the detected pattern changes offer several insights into the impacts of associated events. 42. Ultra-Sensitive Two-Dimensional Integrated Quantum Thermometer Module Based on the Optical Detection of Magnetic Resonance Using Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a two-dimensional thermometer module based on the Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers in diamonds. The thermometer integrates four modules on one Printed Circuit Board (PCB) including a laser module and a corresponding voltage regulator circuit, a microwave module, a focusing module, and an acquisition module, and it has a constructed area of 6.4 ${\textit {cm}}^{{2}}$. In the process of integrating equipment, we made a signal amplifier module to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Through the amplifier module, we realize a $\sim 25$ -fold increase in the fluorescence, and it successfully improved the SNR by $\sim 8.9$ -fold. Fixed Frequency Optical Detection of Magnetic Resonance (FF-ODMR) measures the relationship between temperature (T) and photoluminescence (PL) by scanning the temperature field at 2.84GHz. Which is the most direct display of the thermometer. We developed an algorithm for analyzing the thermometer sensitivity based on PL the SNR analysis.
