International audience; The Introduction presents the special issue of Critical Horizons which purpose is to do justice to Young’s conception of political responsibility by gathering essays that present, analyse and comment on it, demonstrating its value for contemporary political philosophy. Several aspects differentiate Young’s view from what could be called a classic conception of responsibility. This special issue gathers four articles that show Young’s innovative conception of responsibility. The first (Robin Zheng) clarifies the logic of Young’s social connection model; the second (Margaret McLaren) extends its theoretical framework; the third (Yuko Kamishima) elaborates on its intuitions; the fourth (Magali Bessone) applies it to a specific context in a way that reveals its interest.

This PhD starts from a simple question: do the artwork influence may change our perception of the world and thus, our political judgments ? Asking this question comes down to ask what culture, art, or politics to question humans ways of working, which affects their behavior and their ability to desire, to produce alternative, and grow a critical mind and their ability to judge. These operations (nervous system, affects) and milieu indicate at once the hope and the difficulty to resist in our postmodern cultural context where we are rather modified in the sense of voluntary servitude than emancipation. The aesthetic state of the world in the era of late capitalism, in its productions and its practices of "consumption" of cultural products, does not omen in favor of democracy, the real one : the one with autonomos, with 'between’, dissensus, from individuation, emancipation and resistance of individuals, which would enable the widespread deployment of the artist's political responsibility.; Cette thèse part d’une question simple : les œuvres d’art ont-elles une influence pouvant modifier notre perception du monde, et par là, nos jugements politiques ? Poser cette question revient à se demander ce qu’est la culture, l’art, la ou le politique pour interroger les fonctionnements des humains, ce qui influe sur leurs comportements et leur capacité à désirer, à produire de l’alternative, et à nourrir leur esprit critique et leur faculté de juger. Ces fonctionnements (systèmes nerveux, affects) et milieux indiquent tout à la fois l’espoir et la difficulté de la résistance dans notre contexte culturel postmoderne où nous sommes plutôt modifiés dans le sens de la servitude volontaire que de l’émancipation. L’état esthétique du monde à l’époque du capitalisme tardif, dans ses productions et dans ses pratiques de “consommation” des produits culturels, n’augure rien en faveur de la démocratie, la vraie : celle de l’autonomos, de l’entre, du dissensus, issue de l’individuation, de l’émancipation et de la résistance des individus, celle qui permettrait le large déploiement de la responsabilité politique de l’artiste.

International audience; The existing literature on CSR practices covers various aspects of firm governance with only a passing mention of the innovation strategies of firms. Yet we know that innovations, especially market disrupting (MD) ones, have the potential to change societal welfare. Recognition and optimal exploitation of the CSR potential of such innovations can yield high dividends to firms. The present chapter thus attempts to contribute some insight on this issue through detailed case studies of the commercialization of two MD innovations in India – Bt cotton by Monsanto and a drugs cocktail for HIV-AIDS by Cipla. It also proposes a classification of innovations according to their CSR potential. The case studies demonstrate that the CSR potential of an MD innovation can directly serve two objectives, to increase profits and to augment bargaining power in conflicts with other stakeholders. In investing in an MD innovation, the firm must not only keep in mind the potential consumers, but also recognize other stakeholders who may help or hinder the commercialization. Any CSR oriented MD innovation must be supported by a robust business model to make it viable.

International audience; The importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Levant is on the rise and can no longer be ignored. Stimulating organizations to think that it is possible for corporate values to be aligned with stakeholder expectations in a way that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable is a major challenge. But, Professor Henri SAVALL has began the setting up of an international research network, the "Tetranormalization Observatory" to monitor the impacts of discrepancies and contradictions between the four mains clusters of organizational performance norms (finance and accounting norms, social norms, quality-security-environment, and regulations regarding world trade).

International audience; L'ordonnance n° 2016-131 du 10 février 2016 a profondément modernisé le droit français des contrats, du régime général et de la preuve des obligations, qui était resté inchangé depuis 1804. Ce nouveau droit des contrats a l'ambition de renforcer la place du droit français dans la vie des affaires afin d'attirer les investisseurs étrangers et les contractants souhaitant rattacher leurs actes juridiques au droit français.Cet ouvrage fait directement écho à cette double ambition économique et internationale de la réforme. This research aims at describing and interpreting the issues and the evolutions of corporate socialresponsibility in China. If the foundations of CSR are now well established in Western societies, wechoose to direct our work towards the study of China. From commitment to the traditional Confucianthought, political transitions of the Mao era and the opening up towards the West in the late 1970sproviding multinational corporations access to the country, the first part describes the evolution ofChinese society throughout its history and the emergence of CSR. We then explore the possibility of aChinese generational break by studying the “post ‘80s” generation. Finally, an online survey and aseries of interviews result on the assessment of values and social representations of CSR amongstudents.; Ce travail de thèse a pour objectif d’interpréter les enjeux et l’évolution de la responsabilité sociétalede l’organisation en Chine. Si les fondements de la théorie de la RSO sont aujourd’hui bien maîtrisésdans les sociétés occidentales, nous choisissons d’orienter notre travail de recherche sur le cas de laChine. Entre attachement à la pensée traditionnelle confucéenne, transitions politiques de l’èremaoïste et ouverture vers l’Occident dès la fin des années 70 ayant permis l’accès des firmesmultinationales au pays, nous observons dans une première partie l’évolution de la société chinoiseau fil de son histoire et l’apparition de la notion de RSO. Nous nous interrogeons ensuite sur lapossibilité d’une rupture générationnelle en Chine en étudiant le cas de la génération « post-80 ».Enfin, nous dressons un état des lieux des représentations sociales de la RSO des étudiants obtenugrâce à la diffusion d’une enquête en ligne et à une série d’entretiens.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is actually related to the satisfaction of the interests of the stakeholders. However, this notion of the stakeholders creates many difficulties: who are these stakeholders? How to take into consideration their interests when it the stakeholders can’t express their requests, like non-human actors?The Stakeholders theory (SHT) is always used in works dealing with CSR. However, the SHT didn’t resolve some important questions just like how to identify the members of a firm’s environments. The Actor-Network theory (ANT) is an interesting framework in understanding the actions displayed in the social environment of firms. In this work, we tried to use both theories in order to follow the processes of the environment’s actors and describe the social innovations that were developed. Moreover, we suggest an articulation between various concepts, especially the CSR and the cooperation concept which we have hinted to and which is based on “translation” games exactly as they were described by Michel Callon (1986) in his controversial socio-techniques analysis. Besides, the objective of this research is to redraw the touristic company network boarders of Essaouira city, in terms of the question “who counts?” that is still without answers. The mobilized theoretical framework, which is set between the theory of the stakeholders and the theory of the network-actors, allows us to bypass the limits that previously unblocked on some cut networks.Following the actor’s footprints without censuring arguments and actions allowed us to retrace some panoptic networks of some firms. These firms are set in Essaouira city which has known a remarkable touristic dynamism since the beginning of 2000.The different operators were in charge of valuing the different potentials of the city. Namely, the interest of following this movement which scrummed the heterogeneous actors.In addition, this work will emphasize the capacity of the stakeholders’ actors to surmount the conflicts resulting in the concurrent uses of territory resources, and conceive a collective strategy of SRE based on the aggregation of different interests. In this regard, we have reported an argument between the managers of a guest house located in a marginalized village and a “crowd” of agents impacted by this project. We followed the progress in order to see the profit-sharing and the enlistment games that resulted into the creation of a cooperation network making resources of this territory the engine of this social innovation.; La Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises (RSE) est actuellement associée à la satisfaction des intérêts des parties prenantes. Toutefois, cette notion de partie prenante suscite plusieurs difficultés : Qui sont-elles ? Comment prendre en considération leurs intérêts quand il s’agit de parties prenantes « muettes » ? Telles que les actants non humains. La théorie des parties prenantes est omniprésente dans les travaux portant sur ce sujet. Néanmoins, cette théorie représente quelques handicaps quant à l’identification des parties prenantes de l’entreprise. Pour y remédier, la théorie de l’Acteur-Réseau offre une analyse plus féconde aux actions qui se déploient dans l’environnement des entreprises. En ce sens, le cadre théorique hybride convoqué, permet de suivre les cheminements des acteurs et de décrire les innovations sociales qui en découlent. En outre, nous proposons, une articulation entre plusieurs concepts, principalement la RSE et le concept de la coopération que nous avons esquissé et qui se fonde sur les jeux de « traduction » tels qu’ils ont été décrits par Michel Callon (1986) dans son analyse des controverses sociotechniques. De fait, cette recherche a pour objectif de retracer les frontières des réseaux des entreprises touristiques de la ville d’Essaouira à l’aune de la question « qui compte ? » restée largement sans réponses. Le cadre théorique mobilisé et qui se situe entre la théorie des Parties Prenantes et la théorie de l’Acteur-réseau nous a permis de contourner les limites qui ont débouché auparavant sur des réseaux réduits. Suivre les traces des acteurs sans avoir à censurer les arguments et les actions nous a permis de retracer des réseaux panoptiques des entreprises étudiées. Ces entreprises sont situées à la ville d’Essaouira qui a connu une dynamique touristique remarquable depuis le début des années 2000. Les différents opérateurs se sont employés de valoriser les différentes potentialités dont jouit la ville. D’où l’intérêt de suivre cette mouvance qui mêle des acteurs hétérogènes. De plus, ce travail a l’intérêt de mettre l’accent sur la capacité des actants-parties prenantes à surmonter les conflits qui résultent des usages concurrents des ressources du territoires pour concevoir une stratégie collective de RSE qui se fonde sur l’agrégation des différents intérêts. Ce faisant, nous avons fait le compte-rendu d’une controverse qui aurait pu éclater entre le dirigeant d’une maison d’hôte implantée dans un village marginalisé et « une foule » d’acteurs impactés par ce projet. Nous avons suivi le cheminement pour donner à voir les jeux d’intéressement et d’enrôlement qui ont abouti à la création d’un réseau coopération faisant des ressources de ce territoire le moteur de cette innovation sociale.

Our subject is to show from the appropriation of ICTS and new modes of existence of the technical objects that the social innovation is born and diversifies in a intercultural way from complex hybridizations between economic concerns, relations with public authorities and social utility. Does not this define a new imagination of the innovation and the change where the individual via the groups has a renewed responsibility and which sometimes is to be re-qualified ?, Dans cet article, après un état des lectures sur les réseaux, base de notre cadre méthodologique (définition, type, qualités sociaux et/ou mondiaux) en tant que supports technologiques de l’innovation, nous nous interrogerons sur les enjeux et les impacts de ceux-ci dans les stratégies alternatives d’intelligence collective, en tant que prise de position communautaire. The thesis analyzes the way Calvin justifies a commitment without limit in work, in search of prosperity, while paradoxically condemning the quest for personal enrichment and the pursuit of one’s own interests. The duty to work is based on a duty named lieutenancy. It means that every man or women is responsible for acting as God would have done in his or her place. Goods are given to lead to prosperity as a sign of divine providence in order to constitute a just and contented society. This entails the necessity of a limitless commitment to work, a search for individual performance and social responsibility. The human being is understood as fragile and depending on others, only being able to surmount his or her fragility through a covenantal relationship with God and people. In return for this commitment, he or she finds happiness. This interpretation differs from the Calvinist ethics described by Max Weber in The Protestant Ethic and the spirit of the capitalism. It leads to assigning a high value to economic exchanges, through which a fraternal society is constructed. Justice consists in implementing equity mutually and liberality in the exchanges.; La thèse analyse la façon dont Calvin justifie un engagement sans limite dans le travail, en faveur de la recherche de prospérité, alors que paradoxalement il condamne la quête d’enrichissement personnel et la poursuite de ses propres intérêts. Le devoir de travailler repose sur un devoir dit de lieutenance (lieu-tenance), qui signifie que tout homme est responsable d’agir tel que Dieu l’aurait fait à sa place. Il en découle la nécessité d’un engagement sans limite dans le travail, un devoir de performance individuelle et une responsabilité sociale. L’humain est compris comme fragile et dépendant des autres, ne pouvant surmonter sa fragilité qu’en s’engageant dans une relation d’alliance avec Dieu et avec les hommes. En contrepartie de son engagement, il trouve le bonheur. Cette interprétation diffère de l’éthique calviniste décrite par Max Weber dans l’Ethique Protestante et l’esprit du capitalisme. Elle accorde une grande valeur aux échanges économiques, à travers lesquels se construit la société. La justice consiste en la mise en œuvre conjointe de l’équité et de la libéralité dans les échanges.

International audience; The purpose of the present article is to demonstrate the necessity of focusing on interfirm interactions when analysing the rise of socially responsible practices. The first section highlights problems with the standard business case's explanations for the connection between economic and socio-environmental performance, highlighting the limitations of this approach's firm-centric reasoning. A similar critique is offered as regards studies that focus on green/sustainable supply chains – simply bringing suppliers into the analysis adds to the range of actors being covered but does little to identify existing gaps in the literature. Section 3 uses the example of the automotive industry to show how the inconsistency between corporate social responsibility (CSR) discourse and practice becomes clear when interfirm interactions are taken into account. The conclusion suggests that achieving real progress in the development of socially responsible practices requires the construction of a theory of interfirm social responsibility based on an institutionalist framework.

International audience; In this paper,we focus onthecorporate socialresponsibilityand sustainable developmentof local communities.With the law of July 12, 2010 (section 255 of the Act of 12 July 2010), local communities must now draw up, each year an annual report on their situation about sustainable development, integrating social, economic and environmental goals. And so, they are increasingly called to engage in the search for a new balance between economic, social and environmental issues.However, the environmental commitment which is one of the pillars of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is often designated as the major pillar or the only pillar of sustainable development(Rousseau 2008).Thereby, we are interested in the social dimension, which is often less taken into account rather than environmental dimension in the local community, to see the system set upin terms of social policy for agents and analyze whether the device is in a process of responsible Management (CSR / SD).Acase study of Castelnaucity hall,showed the social policy of this community in CSR. The results expose an analysis of the actions carried out in terms of training, recruitment, motivation, career management, health and safety, working conditions and remuneration of the community.Following the analysis, we conclude that the social policy of the City hall of Castelnauresponds globally to responsible management on several levels

International audience; In this work, we seek to explore prospects which represent the social responsibility in public organizations. Based on an extended framework, composed from conventionalist, behaviorist and new managerialist research, we analyze this CSR as a multidimensional opportunity which could allow to these organizations to escape of some conjonctural, social and organizational problems.; Dans cette recherche, nous envisageons d'explorer les perspectives que représente la responsabilité sociale des organisations publiques. Sur la base d'un cadre conceptuel élargi, composé des travaux conventionnalistes, béhavioristes et néo-managérialistes, nous analysons cette RSE comme une opportunité multidimensionnelle pouvant permettre à ces organisations de s'extirper de problématiques contextuelles, conjoncturelles, sociales et organisationnelles.

Soft law mechanisms have played a central role in developing the current notion of the responsibility of transnational corporations in human rights as defined in the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, an initiative approved by the United Nations Human Rights Council in June 2011. Corporate responsibility to respect human rights, as defined by the Special Representative, is based on social expectations rather than on legal obligations. It means that companies should “avoid prejudice to the rights of others and to address adverse impacts on human rights in which they are involved”. The limitations of this approach are important in medium and long term. Although the pragmatic approach adopted by the Special Representative has closed the international community debate on the Draft Norms on the responsibility for human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises, it also ends the chances of developing an international instrument requiring binding obligations in human rights for transnational corporations. Setting the notion of the responsibility of transnational corporations in human rights exclusively on social expectations seems unsatisfactory and dangerous towards victims of violations committed by these economic actors. Responsibility to respect human rights as defined today reinforces the acceptance of a system where transnational corporations are encouraged but are not compelled to respect human rights, a solution that leaves victims of abuse devoid of any legal action and redress. The purpose of this PhD thesis is to present briefly the evolution of the responsibility of transnational corporations in the energy sector in human rights and international humanitarian law from its origins to our days, as well as to understand the main limitations of the current concept in order to explore potential solutions.; Les mécanismes de soft law ont joué un rôle central dans le développement de la notion actuelle de la responsabilité des entreprises transnationales en droits de l’homme telle qu’elle est définie dans les Principes directeurs relatifs aux entreprises et aux droits de l’homme, une initiative approuvé par le Conseil des droits de l’homme des Nations unies en juin 2011. La responsabilité des entreprises de respecter les droits de l’homme, telle qu’elle a été conçue par le Représentant spécial, repose sur les attentes de la société plutôt que sur une obligation juridique. Cela signifie que les entreprises « devraient éviter de porter atteinte aux droits de l’homme d’autrui et remédier aux incidences négatives sur les droits de l’homme dans lesquelles elles ont une part ». Les limites de cette approche sont importantes à moyen et à long terme. Même si l’approche pragmatique adopté par le Représentant spécial a permis de surmonter le débat au sein de la communauté internationale autour du Projet de normes sur la responsabilité en matière de droits de l’homme des sociétés transnationales et autres entreprises, elle a aussi éloigné la possibilité d’élaborer un instrument international imposant aux entreprises transnationales des obligations contraignantes en droits de l’homme. Construire la notion de la responsabilité des entreprises transnationales en matière de droits de l’homme uniquement sur les attentes de la société semble insuffisant et dangereux face aux victimes des abus de ces acteurs économiques. La responsabilité de respecter les droits de l’homme, telle que définie aujourd’hui, renforce l’acceptation d’un système international où les entreprises transnationales sont encouragées mais pas obligées à respecter les droits de l’homme, une solution qui laisse les victimes des abus dépourvues de toute action en justice et de réparation. L’objet de cette thèse est de présenter de manière succincte l’évolution de la problématique complexe de la responsabilité des entreprises transnationales du secteur énergétique en matière de droit international des droits de l’homme et de droit international humanitaire depuis son origine jusqu’à nos jours, ainsi que de comprendre les principales limites de l’approche actuelle à la question, afin d’envisager des potentielles solutions.

I position my doctoral thesis in the broad field of organization science; it stands within the domains of business ethics, sustainability, and corporate responsibility. I appreciate the emergence of a globalized world whereby countries, people, and businesses are connected to each other through economic, political, social, and technological ties. The globalized economies and societies pose complex and multifaceted challenges. To cope with these challenges, businesses will have to assume newer responsibilities and roles. These responsibilities originate from the evolving societal expectations about businesses and their duties. Hence social discourse on business responsibility should highlight the emerging societal expectations. Further, within businesses, the responsibility discourse should give an insight to the reaction of businesses to these emerging responsibilities. And, finally these discourses should affect the consumers’ cognitive development, and consequently impact their attitudes and behaviors. The challenges of sustainability and corporate responsibility are complex, conflicting and at times contradictory. It is imperative to bank on our ability to communicate, to discuss and to co-create universally applicable rules. Therefore I adopt a discursive approach in my thesis, and use Habermas’ theory of communicative action (1981) as an overarching theoretical framework. The thesis contains three research studies, each focusing on one aspect of responsibility, thus covering the three levels of responsibility discourse: societal, corporate and individual. The first article presents a thematic analysis of the business responsibility discourse in popular CSR and sustainability books. Content analyses is used to elicit the apparent and latent responsibility themes of the sample books. The second article focuses on the patterns of social disclosure among large French corporations. The responsibility discourse is analyzed through content analyses of the annual reports of CAC-40 companies. The last article is aimed to comprehend the adoption of ethically conscious behaviors by the consumers. The article first presents a quantitative model of consumers’ ethical decision making and then validates it empirically by structural equation modeling.; Ce travail doctoral s’intéresse principalement aux concepts d'éthique commerciale, du développement durable et de la responsabilité des entreprises. Cette recherche souligne l'émergence d'un monde globalisé où les pays, les citoyens et les entreprises sont connectés les uns aux autres, par des liens économiques, politiques, sociaux et technologiques. La mondialisation de nos sociétés et de nos économies posent des défis complexes à multiples facettes. Afin de faire face à ces défis, les entreprises doivent assumer les nouveaux rôles, et redéfinir leurs responsabilités. Ces responsabilités proviennent de l'évolution des attentes sociétales concernant les entreprises et leurs devoirs. C'est pourquoi le discours social sur la responsabilité des entreprises met en évidence les attentes sociétales émergentes. En outre, au sein des entreprises, le discours de la responsabilité illustre la réaction des entreprises face à ces nouvelles attentes. Enfin, ces discours influencent le développement cognitif des consommateurs et, par conséquent, impactent leurs attitudes et leurs comportements. Les défis du développement durable et de la responsabilité des entreprises sont complexes, conflictuels, et parfois contradictoires. Il est impératif d’accentuer nos efforts sur notre capacité à écouter, à délibérer et à créer ensemble des principes applicables universellement. Ainsi, je suis une approche discursive et mobilise la théorie de l’agir communicationnel de Habermas (1981) en tant que cadre global théorique. Ma thèse contient trois études de recherche, chacune se concentrant sur un axe de la responsabilité : la société, les entreprises et les consommateurs. Le premier article présente une analyse thématique sur la responsabilité sociale des entreprises et sur le développement durable. Une analyse de contenu a été réalisée, elle nous a permis d'obtenir les thèmes - manifestes et latents - de la responsabilité. Le deuxième article porte sur les déclarations sociales parmi les grandes entreprises françaises. Le discours sur la responsabilité est étudié à travers la méthode d'analyse de contenu des rapports annuels des sociétés de CAC-40. Le dernier article a pour objectif de comprendre l'adoption de comportements éthiques par les consommateurs. L'article présente d'abord un modèle quantitatif de décision éthique des consommateurs et puis le valide empiriquement par les méthodes d'équations structurelles

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) was long associated with the ethics of company heads but now falls within an institutional process whereby practices give rise to rules which in turn modify company actions. CSR has spread as a result of social demand for a more ecological society, but it also constitutes a response to the crisis of shareholder governance. Drawing on the notion of ‘conception of control’ set out by Neil Fligstein (1990), we argue that CSR has given rise to a new ‘conception of control’, which we term ‘shareholder–CSR compatible’. Such a conception reflects how governance changes when environmental and societal responsibilities are combined with responsibility to shareholders. Promoted at the origine to guarantee professional activity of the women, in a total objective and of long term of equality between men and women, it is changing context. A new economic and social state, thus a renewed socio-policy context contributes to modify the objectives of the conciliation work-family and the question of equality. It is thus necessary to target the new stakes and to be able to propose new tools.; La conciliation travail-famille, objectif affiché dans le cadre de la stratégie européenne de Lisbonne à l'horizon 2010, aborde aujourd'hui une phase de bilan. Promue à l'origine comme moyen de garantir l'insertion professionnelle des femmes, dans un objectif global et de long terme d'égalité entre les hommes et les femmes, elle est en train de changer de contexte. Une nouvelle donne économique et sociale, ainsi qu'un contexte socio-politique renouvelé contribuent à modifier les objectifs de la conciliation travail-famille face à la question de l'égalité. Il faut donc cibler les nouveaux enjeux et être en mesure de proposer de nouveaux outils.

Ce papier s'intéresse au rôle des TIC dans la mise en place de la RSE. Les TIC sont un véritable outil de travail qui a intégré le quotidien des différents acteurs. Par ailleurs, la RSE est devenue un enjeu majeur pour différentes entreprises. Cependant, la définition du concept RSE n'est pas partagée et perçu de la même façon par les acteurs, les pays ou les secteurs d'activité. Cette différence de compréhension de la RSE est à l'origine de plusieurs problèmes quant à son implémentation et sa diffusion. Dans ce papier, nous procédons, dans un premier temps, à la clarification du concept de la RSE (nous traçons notamment les frontières avec le développement durable ou le Green IT). Nous discutons, dans un temps, la proposition que l'utilisation des TIC comme un véritable levier dans la mise en œuvre et dans la diffusion de la RSE. Cette démarche permettrait, d'aboutir à 1/ une meilleure compréhension partagée de la RSE 2/ adoption des pratiques RSE par l'ensemble des acteurs.

The Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the concept according to which the companies have an obligation towards social actors others that the shareholders and beyond the legal and lawful regulations. In this concept, the definition of the performance is not only economic and financial. Indeed, the RSE corresponds to the application to the companies of the sustainability concept; it invites them to take into account, beyond the economic and financial aspects, the social and environmental aspects of their activities. The management control is in the middle of this relation between global responsibility and economic performance for the companies. Our questionings are interested in the step to adopt by a company to implement sustainability trategy and objectives which are incarnated in the management instrumentation, like with the design and the implementation of piloting tools adapted to measure a multidimensional performance. We carried out three years of research intervention within Batigère, a group of Social Firm for Housing leader on his sector, within the framework of a CIFRE contract (Industrial Convention of Formation by Research). Batigère posts clearly in its strategic orientations sustainability concerns centered on three dimensions: the economic one, the social one and the environmental one. Our research was done in two phases: an exploratory phase during which we studied indepth Batigère operation Batigère like its instrumentation of management, and a phase of ingenieric research during which we took part in the process of design and implementation of his system of scorecards. Initially, our case study highlighted the possibility of developing a coherent step of global responsibility really incarnating itself in the management instrumentation. With our opinion, the tensions which can remain between economic performance and global responsibility must be assumed and managed within the framework of the total system of control of the company, if one is interested in the effectiveness of the policies implemented in the social field. In the second time, the results of our of ingenieric research show that for the design of a system of scorecards integrating the CSR, two approaches OVAR and Balanced Scorecard (BSC), although they have dissimilarities, can be complementary. Indeed, by combining BSC tool and its forms of balance with the coherent and participative step recommended by OVAR method, we could implement a coherent scorecards system allowing the piloting of a multidimensional performance. In the third time, we prolonged our research on the appropriation by the actors of the scorecards system lately designed. It is indeed the play of the individuals activating the management instruments which is essential. We show through quotations drawn from the talks carried out with the actors as well as extracts of emails received during tool in situ operation that: firstly, the scorecards system contributed to the homogenization of the efficiency representation and the performance criteria within the company, and secondly, it allowed to legitimate the function of the financial controller by offering an adequate tool for the financial piloting of the operations while widening control towards a multidimensional performance. We show finally that technological dimensions (design features and automation parameters) of a management tool have a considerable impact on the assimilation by the actors of a tool lately designed. We qualified the step of CSR integration in the system of control implemented within Batigère of ?combinative method?. It has two specificities: a coherent system of control which articulate financial performance and social performance, and a step of systems design of scorecards which ensure a vertical and horizontal coherence. We tried to model this combinative method, by specifying the principles subjacent with each stage of the method as well as the actors having taken part in the process, in order to register the contribution of our ingenieric research in the production of knowledge; La responsabilité sociale de l'entreprise (RSE) est la notion selon laquelle les entreprises ont une obligation envers des acteurs sociaux autres que les actionnaires et au-delà des prescriptions légales et réglementaires. En effet, la RSE correspond à l'application aux entreprises du concept de développement durable, elle les invite à prendre en considération, au-delà des aspects économiques et financiers, les aspects sociaux et environnementaux de leurs activités. Dans un deuxième temps, les résultats de notre de recherche ingénierique montrent que pour la conception d'un système de tableaux de bord intégrant la RSE, les deux approches OVAR et Balanced Scorecard (BSC), bien qu'elles présentent des dissemblances, peuvent être complémentaires. En effet, en combinant l'outil BSC et ses formes d'équilibre avec la démarche cohérente et participative préconisée par la méthode OVAR, nous avons pu mettre en ?uvre un système de tableaux de bord cohérent permettant le pilotage d'une performance multidimensionnelle. Dans un troisième temps, nous avons prolongé notre recherche sur l'appropriation par les acteurs du système de tableaux de bord nouvellement conçu. C'est en effet le jeu des individus activant les instruments de gestion qui est essentiel. Nous montrons à travers des citations tirées des entretiens réalisés avec les acteurs ainsi que des extraits de courriels reçus au cours du fonctionnement in situ de l'outil que : premièrement, le système de tableaux de bord a contribué à l'homogénéisation de la représentation de l'efficacité et des critères de performance au sein de l'entreprise, et deuxièmement, il a permis une légitimation de la fonction du contrôleur de gestion en offrant un outil adéquat pour le pilotage financier des opérations tout en élargissant le contrôle vers une performance multidimensionnelle. Nous montrons finalement que les dimensions technologiques (caractéristiques techniques et paramètres d'automatisation) d'un outil de gestion ont un impact non négligeable sur l'assimilation par les acteurs d'un outil nouvellement conçu. Nous avons qualifié la démarche d'intégration de la RSE dans le système de pilotage mise en ?uvre au sein de Batigère de « méthode combinatoire ». Elle présente deux spécificités : un système de pilotage cohérent qui articule performance financière et performance sociétale, et une démarche de conception du système de tableaux de bord qui assure une cohérence verticale et horizontale. Nous avons tenté de modéliser cette méthode combinatoire, en précisant les principes sous-jacents à chaque étape de la méthode ainsi que les acteurs ayant participé au processus, afin d'inscrire la contribution de notre recherche ingénierique dans la production de connaissance

International audience; Cet article traite de la Responsabilité Sociale de l'Entreprise et expose plus précisément le cas de méthodes et outils de gestion mis en oeuvre dans une grande entreprise de l'agro-alimentaire française. Ce cas illustre quel traitement managérial et quels indicateurs peuvent être mobilisés pour permettre à une entreprise d'insuffler une dynamique responsable en créant des normes et des pratiques rénovées de gestion des hommes.

Corporate Social Responsibility is commonly accepted within the business community as a new platform to drive success in mitigating new emerging risks and facilitating access to emerging markets. However, in doing so, businesses are now facing new barriers derived from the difficulty on how to implement such a complex new market expectation. The challenge ahead is now to turn these obstacles into opportunities. CSR is asking businesses to notably open their risk management to external pressures, especially direct stakeholders. In that respect, this research paper intends to focus on the relationship with suppliers for a responsible supply chain management. Various aspects of this specific stakeholder shall be treated throughout the paper: What are the risks? How a CSR vision should be implemented in the whole supply chain? What are the relevant tools and methods? We have analysed various theoretical trends (contract theory, transaction costs theory, stakeholders theory, etc?) coupled with numerous businesses case studies in order to offer a relevant and up to date stakeholder mapping with regards to Sustainable procurement, Le concept de développement durable est l'expression d'une tendance importante, génératrice de nouveaux outils pour protéger la pérennité de l'entreprise et lui ouvrir de nouveaux marchés. Certes, il convient de souligner la complexité de ce concept faisant apparaître de nouvelles contraintes qu'il est nécessaire de transformer en "opportunités". In Egypt, most criminal cases are investigated on the basis of forensic medicine reports. To a lesser extent, personal status and civil cases are also referred to forensic doctors. In this type of documents, doctors provide the judge who mandated them with bodily and pathological descriptions. Classically, forensic medicine investigated various issues ranging from causes of death to psychological pathologies and used different techniques, among which fingerprinting is the most famous. With the progress of biology and genetics, new techniques like DNA profiling of samples found on the crime scene were introduced. Although endowed with discretionary powers, judges tend to ground their rulings on such reports that provide them with bodily and pathological descriptions of actions and people. Technically, these descriptions are supposed to be disengaged instruments in the hands of neutral judges. Practically, forensic reports are highly implicative and consequential, both morally and legally. In this paper, I proceed in five stages. First, I briefly discuss what can be considered as the “missing-what” of both legal and anthropological studies, which leads to better take into consideration the constraints and resources of practical legal work. Second, I review the notions of legal personality, capacity and responsibility in Egyptian criminal law, including the law concerning medical practice, showing that these textual references constitute the resources and the constraints with which participants in legal proceedings must deal. Third, I show how law on the books works for all practical legal purposes, that is, how it works as a practical tool in the hands of practitioners. Finally, I look at the details of forensic reports issued in two Egyptian cases in order to show how they are practically constituted and orient to the ascription of material causes and individual agencies to facts. By so doing, I shall describe how these documents come to play an active role in the grammar of legal responsibility, which is based in most modern legal systems on a relationship between a deed, a person and a link of causality between the former and the latter.

Collection : Recherches; L'objectif du texte est d'éclairer la notion de crise professionnelle, employée dans les débats sociaux, s'agissant notamment des enseignants, des agriculteurs et de nombreux métiers confrontés à des transformations qualitatives de la demande, notion qui recouvre des aspects internes, défauts de coopération au sein d'une profession, et externes, par mise en question des pratiques, voire des finalités professionnelles. Les professions sont vues comme des institutions économiques qui produisent des conceptions légitimes (justifiées) de l'activité dans différents domaines, qu'ainsi elles séparent et qu'elles stabilisent. L'approche proposées vise à développer un modèle général des professions comme ordres institutionnels, en partant du cas de l'agriculture. De nouveaux facteurs de crise identitaire sont apparus avec les crises de confiance touchant les produits de l'agriculture intensive et de nouvelles questions sont sur l'agenda politique qui contribuent à l'éclatement de l'ancien référentiel sectoriel. Elles concernent les "fonctions sociales" de l'agriculture demande de biens environnementaux, récréatifs et culturels. La première section rappelle les trait institutionnels des professions selon les analyses sociologiques classiques, qui renvoient pour les économistes à la question elle-même classique de l'action collective et à celle moins classique de la responsabilité. La deuxième section propose un modèle de l'action professionnelle en termes de conventions. La troisième, en s'appuyant sur agricultre , analyse la question de la responsabilité.

Iran, ruled today by Ali Khamenei, the Guide of the Revolution, and the recently elected President Ahmadinejad, has no intention of yielding to international pressure exhorting it to suspend all uranium enrichment activity, a necessary but intermediate step in the process of building nuclear weapons. Iran is also seeking to join the WTO and it had been offered this incentive by the United States and the EU ‘3’ (France, Britain and Germany) in exchange for a promise to cease enrichment. However, President Ahmadinejad’s 12 April announcement that Iran has successfully enriched uranium takes the crisis to a higher plane. It also leaves many questions unanswered, above all, how the international community should respond to this unwelcome development. In this hard-hitting analysis of Tehran’s intentions, Thérèse Delpech, one of the world’s leading authorities on international nuclear security, outlines how Iran has successfully beguiled the international community for years, aided and abetted by China and Russia, both of which are eager to benefit commercially from Iran acquiring nuclear power. She dissects Iran’s nuclear programme in minute detail, drawing on her inside knowledge. The first section of the book retraces the history of Iran’s nuclear project from the 1970s — one that was launched by the former Shah with help from several Western countries — till today, when national pride, exemplified by Ahmadinejad’s bellicose rhetoric, makes it highly unlikely that Tehran will bow to the diktats of the international community. National audience; Public and scientific controversies over Genetically Modified Organisms have been thoroughly studied in various aspects, but little attention has been paid to the implementation and the management of transgenic crop field trials as a practical set of activities. However, such trials have been put at the forefront of the controversy, especially in France with the campaigns of “ripping up” crops led by activists. In order to shed light on this dimension of the controversy, our communication aims to understand how the actors in charge of GMO field trials have been facing growing concerns about responsibility. Drawing from a case study on a French Agricultural Technical Institute (ICTA) which has conducted since 1995 a risk assessment programme of GM plants involving long-term field trials, we focus on the activities of experimenters managing GMO field trials in three locations, from 1995 to 2003. Indeed, our research shows tat engineers and technicians actually have to deal with some of the core issues of the controversy, both in their daily work and with their local environment. For instance, they face conflicting options about the publicity of the trial at the local level (transparency vs. opacity) and the interpretation of ambiguous and emerging regulations (taking risks in order to experiment risks vs. avoiding any risks) as well as difficulties to ascribe a justification to their work (civic responsibility vs. professional responsibility). Then, a comparison between teams of experimenters in different locations, at different periods of time – before and after the emergence of the controversy – allows us to account for the construction of different patterns of responsibility in practice.

La profession agricole, comme d'autres professions, paraît aujourd'hui remise en cause par une crise de confiance (les peurs alimentaires, les revendications environnementalistes...). La crise professionnelle contemporaine, qui se manifeste à travers la confrontation de la profession agricole, dans sa diversité, avec un nouveau jeu des contraintes publiques et de l'opinion, est aussi une crise interne correspondant à une redéfinition des compétences professionnelles dans un nouveau contexte d'innovation (différenciation des produits, sécurité alimentaire et environnementale). En s'appuyant sur le cas de l'agriculture, l'article vise à fournir de façon plus générale un cadre théorique d'analyse des professions. Le point de départ est une analyse des modes de coordination économique qui, à côté du marché et de la réglementation, propose un troisième mode de gouvernance que l'on peut attribuer aux collectifs. En tirant parti de travaux analysant les professions en terme de convention ou en terme de compétences, un modèle général des conventions professionnelles est dégagé. Des conventions de coopération permettent la construction de savoirs collectifs et la régulation des collectifs, tandis que des conventions de qualification définissent les statuts et le champ professionnels. La qualification professionnelle renvoie, d'une part, à un ensemble de compétences fondamentales et, d'autre part, à un régime de responsabilité (éthique professionnelle et réglementation des activités professionnelles). La crise professionnelle peut alors être vue comme la conséquence de changements dans les formes de qualification et le régime de responsabilité.

The paper demonstrates the sensitivity of the impact to the metric used to assess it and to assumptions regarding the interaction between the cap and trade system and accompanying measures such as domestic policies (characterised as simple fiscal reforms) and international public funding. In a third step it derives some lessons about how to reconcile two political imperatives: (a) an ex-post or "consequentialist" approach to equity, which however cannot fully avoid relying on ex-ante rules, and (b) the necessity of an agreement on such stable ex-ante rules to set up emissions targets and efficient emissions trading. The latter step suggests a coming back to the environment/development "Gordian Knot", which underpins all global environmental affairs since the Stockholm Conference in 1972. We argue that the equity-efficiency dilemma has to be set in a broader sustainable development perspective whereby climate policies are integrated with development priorities of the poorest countries so as to create a leverage effect on development.

In 1991, in the Francovitch e.a judgement, the court of justice of the european communities has established a new general principle of community law, in accordance with whitch the member states have to compensate for damages caused to private persons by violations of the community law which are imputable to them. In its later judicial precedent it has, moreover, been led to specify the agreement conditions for this responsability and has, consequently, defined the regulation of the "community" responsability of the member states. This judicial precedent affects national rights. This thesis aims at exploring the development of an ethical questioning for our student nurses. Thus, it investigates the actual place of ethic during their initial training, that is and the foundation of an ethical questioning ; the construction of skills through lived experiences and also the links between vulnerability, solicitude and responsability, and more specifically in the ethic of Care. The survey conducted among students belonging to three different institutes, during three years of training enabled us to collect and analyse their discourse regarding three discrepancies. Namely that between an ideal representation of the world of care and its reality, between the theory dispensed at the IFSI and the practice seen during their internship and finally between the routine necessary to the acquisition of dexterity and the constant change brought by the singularity of each person. The initial postulate was that those discrepancies are necessary to the students in the elaboration of their ethical questioning mainly because they are confronted from the very beginning to the reality of care practice through their training. That being said, our sutdy as also brought to light the significant place of emotion in the development of ethical questioning, for instance in the perception of difficult situations and in the imagination of someone else’s lived experience. Thus, two notions emerged forcibly and strikingly by their complementarity : solicitud end responsability. Whith an approach of moral perfectionism, the accompaniment of the students finally raises the question of an ethical future in the sense of Spinoza, and of the foundation of the nursing identity on ethics, in order to assume the moral courage necessary to maintain the hospitality of care., Cette thèse cherche à explorer le développement d’un questionnement éthique chez les étudiants infirmiers. Elle explore ainsi la place de l’éthique en formation initiale et le fondement du questionnement éthique ; la construction d’une compétence au travers des expériences vécues, ainsi que les liens entre vulnérabilité, sollicitude et responsabilité, plus particulièrement dans l’éthique du Care. L’enquête menée auprès d’étudiants appartenant à trois Instituts différents, durant leurs trois années de formation, a permis de recueillir puis d’analyser leur discours au regard de trois écarts. Ce sont les écarts entre représentation idéale et réalité du monde du soin, entre formation théorique à l’IFSI et pratiques vues en stage et enfin entre habitude nécessaire à l’habileté gestuelle et rencontre chaque fois singulière d’un autre. Le postulat de départ était le suivant : ces écarts sont nécessaires aux étudiants pour l’élaboration de leurs questionnements en éthique, principalement parce que leur formaton les confronte, dès son commencement, à la réalité de la pratique du soin. Cela étant, l’enquête a mis en évidence la place majeure des émotions dans le développement des questionnements éthiques, notamment dans la perception des situations difficiles et dans l’imagination de l’expérience vécue par autrui. PurposeThe current study aims to investigate the relation between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and information asymmetry, as well as the moderating effect of board characteristics (gender diversity, size and independence) on this relationship.Design/methodology/approachThis paper uses a panel data regression analysis with the system generalized method of moments (SGMM) estimator of nonfinancial French firms included in the SBF 120 index. The environmental and social disclosure scores are collected from the Bloomberg database, while financial data are collected from the FactSet database.FindingsThe empirical results demonstrate that environmental disclosure has a positive impact on the level of information asymmetry, while social disclosure has no effect on the information environment. Gender diversity and board independence negatively impact the opacity index, while board size has a positive effect. The presence of women in board composition has a substitution effect on the relationship between environmental disclosure and information asymmetry. There is no moderating effect of board size on the association between CSR disclosure and information asymmetry. However, the proportion of independent female directors and board independence operates as substitutes to social disclosure on reducing information asymmetry.Research limitations/implicationsAlthough the models include the most common control variables used in the literature, they omit some variables. Second, the results should be interpreted with caution and should not be generalized to the entire stock market since the sample is based on large French companies.Practical implicationsThe results of this study may be of interest to managers, investors and French market authorities since France is characterized by highly developed laws and reforms in the area of CSR. In addition, the paper leads to a better understanding of how women on the board, in particular, independent female directors, affect the relationship between CSR disclosure and information asymmetry. This could be of interest to French authorities, which has encouraged the appointment of women through the adoption of the Copé–Zimmermann law.Originality/valueFirst, to the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first study to explore the moderating effect of board characteristics on the relationship between CSR and information asymmetry. Second, unlike previous studies using individual proxies to measure information asymmetry, the authors favor the opacity index of Andersonet al.(2009). They calculate this index by including a fifth individual measure, namely, share price volatility. The opacity index better describes the information environment of companies than individual measures since it reflects the perceptions of investors and analysts together.
