This study analyzes the characteristics of the top 100 most-cited papers related to tooth bleaching. A literature search was performed on the Web of Science up to March 2022. The number of citations was cross-matched with the citation count on Scopus and Google Scholar. The following data were collected: number and density of citations; authorship; year and journal of publication; study design and thematic; keywords; institution and country of origin. Spearman’s correlation and Poisson regression were used to determine associations between the number of citations and study characteristics. The VOSviewer software was used to generate collaborative network maps for the authors and keywords. The number of citations ranged from 66 to 450. Papers were published between 1981 and 2020. The most frequent study design and topic were laboratory-based studies and ‘interaction of the bleaching agent with dental tissues’, respectively. Cochran M, Loguercio AD, Matis B, Reis A, and Suliman M were the authors with the highest number of papers. The countries with the most papers were the United States of America (USA) (28%) and Brazil (20%). Indiana University and State University of Ponta Grossa were the institutions with the most papers (6% each). There was a very strong correlation among the number of citations of the three databases. The 100 most-cited papers related to tooth bleaching were mainly published by the USA and Brazil, with laboratory-based studies addressing topics related to the effects of bleaching agents on tooth structure being the most prevalent. Resumo Este estudo analisa as características dos 100 artigos mais citados relacionados ao clareamento dental. Uma pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada na Web of Science até março de 2022. O número de citações foi cruzado com a contagem de citações na Scopus e na Google Scholar. Foram coletados os seguintes dados: número e densidade de citações; autoria; ano e periódico de publicação; desenho do estudo e temática; palavras-chave; instituição e país de origem. A correlação de Spearman e a regressão de Poisson foram usadas para determinar associações entre o número de citações e as características do estudo. O software VOSviewer foi utilizado para gerar mapas de rede colaborativa para os autores e palavras-chave. O número de citações variou de 66 a 450. Os artigos foram publicados entre 1981 e 2020. O desenho e o tópico de estudo mais frequentes foram estudos laboratoriais e interação do agente clareador com tecidos dentários, respectivamente. Cochran M, Loguercio AD, Matis B, Reis A e Suliman M foram os autores com maior número de artigos. Os países com mais artigos foram os Estados Unidos da América (EUA) (28%) e o Brasil (20%). A Universidade de Indiana e a Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa foram as instituições com mais artigos (6% cada). Houve uma correlação muito forte entre o número de citações das três bases de dados. Os 100 artigos mais citados relacionados ao clareamento dentário foram publicados principalmente pelos EUA e Brasil, sendo os estudos laboratoriais que abordaram tópicos relacionados aos efeitos dos agentes clareadores na estrutura dentária os mais prevalentes.

Plastic-coated paper (PCP) is commonly used as a takeaway food container in Thailand. This study aimed to investigate the phthalate content in PCP and to evaluate the health risk of dietary exposure to phthalates. Determination of phthalates, namely, of benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), was carried out using a simple total immersion test followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Consumption data of 430 students in a university were collected by a questionnaire for health risk assessment. Essa pesquisa teve por finalidade avaliar um resíduo de lodo de efluentes de indústrias de papel quanto à potencialidade de emprego em matrizes cimentícias. Verificou-se a composição química do resíduo e realizaram-se misturas com adições de 0, 5 e 10%, em relação à massa de cimento. As matrizes cimentícias foram analisadas por meio de calorimetria isotérmica, resistência à compressão, resistência à tração na compressão diametral, absorção de água por capilaridade, densidade de massa aparente e módulo de elasticidade dinâmico. Os resultados obtidos não foram satisfatórios, visto que a adição do resíduo à matriz apresentou aumento no consumo de cimento para atingir a resistência requerida e aumento no consumo de água para manutenção da consistência. The purpose of this study was to evaluate a paper sludge waste obtained from tissue paper industries regarding its potential for use in cementitious materials. The chemical composition of the waste was assessed and mixtures were made with 0%, 5% and 10% additions of the material, by mass of cement. The cement matrices were analysed experimentally by isothermal calorimetry, compressive strength and tensile strength by diametric compression, water absorption by capillarity, apparent mass density and dynamic modulus of elasticity. The results obtained were not satisfactory, since the addition of the paper sludge waste showed an increase in the cement consumption to reach the required compressive strength, as well as a rise in water consumption in order to maintain the mortar consistency.

Eucalyptus globulus is the second most important economic forest species in Chile. Its main use is in the kraft pulp industry, where large amounts of bark waste are generated. Due to its fibrous characteristics, E. globulus bark is proposed as an alternative source of fibres for papermaking. This study focuses on obtaining fibres for liner paper manufacture. A neutral sulphite semi-chemical (NSSC) process was performed, varying the sodium sulphite (5% to 16%) and the sodium carbonate (2% and 4%) concentrations using two reaction temperatures (160°C and 170°C). The NSSC process at 170°C, 16% of sulphite, and 2% of sodium carbonate proved to be the best condition to obtain higher mechanical performance of papers. As the pulping conditions become more drastic, the yield drops, and the physicomechanical properties of paper increases. Results showed that pulps from E. globulus bark could turn into source of fibres for papermaking and other related products.

INTRODUCTION: The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of filter paper (FP) for lesion scraping collection in a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) diagnosis. METHODS: Lesion scrapings from 48 patients were collected and analyzed for PCR. RESULTS: PCR with FP detected up to three Leishmania braziliensis promastigotes. Considering the direct search by microscopy or PCR of samples collected in STE buffer as standards, the sensitivity of PCR with FP was 100%. CONCLUSIONS: FP can be useful for CL diagnosis in remote regions, allowing high sensitivity in the detection of the parasite by PCR.

In order to minimize environmental impact zeolite A was synthesized using waste from the paper industry. This waste is composed of cellulose, kaolin and calcium carbonate. Waste purification was carried through thermal and chemical treatment, which consisted of initial calcination, acid washing with HCl, then calcination of the solid fraction to obtain metakaolin and evaporation of the liquid fraction to obtain CaCl2. Zeolite 4A was produced by static autoclaving under hydrothermal synthesis at different temperatures, crystallization times and NaOH concentrations. As a source of aluminum and silicon metakaolin was used. The synthesis of zeolite 5A was performed by ion exchange with CaCl2. After that, the waste paper (in natura and HCl treatment) and the zeolites 4A and 5A were characterized by XDR, SEM, FTIR, AAS and thermal analysis. The temperature is a key factor in zeolite synthesis at lower concentrations allowing one to obtain zeolite 5A by ion exchange with zeolite 4A.

The basic density is the main technical property of the wood due to the fact of the easy determination and correlation with the others wood properties. In this article, it was evaluated wood chips from a five-years-old Eucalyptus grandis in three different silvicultural treatments for pulp and paper production. First, a conventional kraft pulping was executed in the same conditions and then submitted to some elemental chlorine free (ECF) bleaching process to achieve the target brightness of 88 ± 1% ISO. The bleached pulps were refined in a Jokro Mill at 0, 2250, 4500 and 6750 revolutions and their physical, mechanical and optical properties were analyzed. The statistical analysis indicated a difference in the wood basic density from the different silvicultural treatments. The yield of the pulping process was not affected by the variation of the wood basic density. The denser wood had the advantage of a lower specific wood consumption while the disadvantage was a greater difficulty in the delignification and a decrease in the selectivity of the pulping process. The denser wood was the one with the best bleachability and the one that most consumed chlorine in the bleaching process. The increase of the wood density caused gains in the fisical and optical properties of the bleached pulp and losses in the mechanical properties.The optical properties of the pulps from denser woods are more resistant than the negative effects of mechanical properties. RESUMO Neste artigo, temos por objetivo apresentar o modelo didático do gênero textual artigo científico em francês para, em seguida, mostrar uma sequência didática elaborada para ensinar a produzir esse gênero assim como reflexões sobre sua aplicação. Para desenvolver as atividades, apoiamo-nos nos conceitos do Interacionismo Sociodiscursivo (Bronckart 1999/2003; Schneuwly e Dolz 2004), que tem como base os escritos de Vigotski (1997,1998). O modelo didático e a sequência foram produzidos como parte de uma experiência piloto promovida pelo Laboratório de Letramento Acadêmico da universidade que visava ao ensino da produção de artigos científicos em língua francesa para alunos da Graduação em Letras. ABSTRACT In this article, we aim to present the didactic model of the text genre scientific paper in French and, then, show the didactic sequence designed to teach how to write this genre. The activities were based on the concepts of the Socio-discursive Interactionism (Bronckart 1999/2003), which relies on the Vygotskian theoretical framework. The didactic model and the didactic sequence were produced as part of a pilot study that suggested the use of the didactic sequence in order to teach how to write papers in French to Undergraduate students that were enrolled in a French Literature course. This experience was conducted within a partnership with the Laboratory of Academic Literacy.

The purpose of this review was to identify and analyze the main characteristics of the 100 most-cited papers in the field of endodontic therapy in primary teeth. A search for the most-cited articles was conducted in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science ‘Core-Collection’ (WoS-CC) database up to December 2020. Papers were ranked in descending order, by number of citations, and each paper was matched with the citation count on Scopus and Google Scholar. Two independent reviewers selected the most-cited papers and analyzed it according to the number and density of citations, year and journal of publication, authors, countries and contributing institutions, study design, topic of the paper, and keywords. Spearman’s correlation and Poisson regression were used to determine associations between the number of citations and study characteristics. The citation count varied from 15 to 135 (WoS-CC), 8 to 141 (Scopus), and 14 to 317 (Google Scholar). Of the 306 contributing authors, most paper contributions were from Sakai VT, Oliveira TM, and Machado MAAM (5 each). Most of the papers originated from the USA (n=21) and Brazil (n=18). Randomized trials were the most common study design (n=32), and “pulpotomy” was the most frequently used keyword (n=35). Poisson regression showed that the number of citations decreased by 1.5% each year, and increased by 9.7% for each unit of impact factor. This bibliometric analysis highlighted papers, authors, and institutions that have contributed to endodontic therapy in primary teeth. Common terms of interest in this research area was also identified, representing the first bibliometric analysis on this subject.

This article investigates the extent to which signs of modern European and North American coloniality are present in the field of Communication in Brazil. It considers that there is coloniality of Latin American knowledge, delimited in Brazilian communicational approaches, elaborated and systematized in the papers from the proceedings of the first Compós quadrennium (2000-2003), a period not studied in other papers. The event is one of the main events in the country. The investigation considers, above all, the nationality category, as well as the authors’ genders and their skin color, which reverberate such coloniality. The analysis of the manually collected data was carried out using R programming language and paid attention to the most cited works and authors for each category. The results show the prevalence of European and North American white male authors in such references.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy ability to estimate nanofibril concentration, physical and mechanical properties of Kraft paper reinforced with cellulose nanofibrils (CNF). For this purpose, paper sheets were prepared by mixing unbleached Eucalyptus fibers and cellulose nanofibrils. Twelve treatments result from the combination of the nominal grammages 75, 85, 95 and 105 g m-² with the nanofibril concentrations of 1, 5 and 10wt%, with 7 sheets per treatment. NIR spectra measured directly on paper specimens were correlated with physical and mechanical properties values obtained through conventional laboratory analyzes. Results: Principal component analysis (PCA) revealed no separation among specimens related to nanofibril content. Partial least squares regression (PLS-R) models for estimating nanofibril content, tensile index, stretch and resistance to air passage yielded R 2cv ranging from 0.73 to 0.98. Partial least squares - discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) correctly classified up to 93% of the paper specimens both by grammage and nanofibril content using NIR spectra. Conclusion: This approach appears to be suitable for predicting physical and mechanical properties of Kraft papers and can detect cellulose nanofibril content in the cellulose handsheets.

This article seeks to unveil the many narrative, graphic and formal layers that give rise to the forensics reports on rape and sexual assault crimes, produced by the Legal Medical Institute of Campinas ( Instituto Médico Legal - IML), between 2004 and 2005. Therefore, I start from the graphic model that shapes these papers – its layout-form – to gradually show the narrative formula contained in them: pieces of flesh . Finally, by following these paths, I intend to show how the criminal materiality of rape and sexual assault is confused with the materiality of the sex of girls, boys and women who are taken care of at this institution.

The wide variety of bacteria in the environment permits screening for more efficient cellulases to help overcome current challenges in biofuels production. This study focuses on the isolation of efficient cellulase producing bacteria found in pulp and paper mill effluent contaminated soil which can be considered for use in large scale biorefining. Four different bacterial strains were isolated and screened for cellulase production by using CMC agar medium. All isolates showed cellulase activity these strains were further characterized by morphological, physiological, biochemical and 16S rRNA gene analyses. These isolates were identified as two Bacillus subtilis sub sps, Bacillus mojavensis and Bacillus cereus.

Construction industry has a significant grow in the past few years. Following that rate, the amount of residue produced from that growth also increases. The need to find alternatives apart from disposing that residue in landfills have led researchers to find new materials from disposal residues. In this paper, kraft paper from cement bags used in building constructions is utilized as reinforcement in unsaturated polyester matrix composites. The kraft paper residue (KPR) was used as shredded particles in different quantities, 30%, 40% and 50%, by weight, and also cutted in sheets to be used as laminas. Tensile and flexural tests were performed to characterize the KPR composites. The results showed that tensile strength and modulus of elasticity increase as shredded KPR content increase. Higher increase was observed when KPR laminas were used as reinforcement. In flexion, a decrease is reported when shredded KPR is used but an increase was observed due to KPR laminas. Flexural modulus was not altered by KPR.

Resumo Este artigo aborda o futuro do trabalho como fenômeno comu- nicacional, por meio de sua análise como construção discursiva. Elegemos como objeto dois relatórios, dois documentos prospectivos: um assinado pelo World Economic Forum — talvez o maior porta-voz do capitalismo global — e outro da corporação Dell Technologies, expoente da economia digital mundial. Buscamos identificar de que forma esses discursos sobre o futuro do trabalho mobilizam códigos hegemônicos do neoliberalismo, compreendido como lógica social. Essa lógica pressupõe a produção de sujeitos, por meio de competências, perfis, como capital humano a ser gerido com eficácia. A metodologia é baseada na noção de discurso social de Angenot — que propõe a análise do espírito do tempo em sua disseminação nos discursos de dado contexto histórico e social. Abstract The discursive construction of the future of work: critical analysis of white papers and prospective reports - This article discusses the future of work as a communicational phenomenon, through its analysis as a discursive construction. We selected two reports, two forward-looking documents as object: one signed by the World Economic Forum — perhaps the greatest representative voice of global capitalism — and another by Dell Technologies, an exponent of the world digital economy. We seek to identify how these discourses about the future of work mobilize hegemonic codes of neoliberalism, understood as social logic. This logic presupposes the production of subjects, through skills, profiles, as human capital to be managed effectively. The methodology is based on Angenot’s notion of social discourse — which proposes an analysis of the spirit of time in its dissemination in discourses of a given historical and social context.

Composite materials using vegetal fibers and industrial waste are being applied in different areas and structures, requiring, more and more, researches that highlight their characteristics. In this context, the study of manufacturing techniques becomes increasingly necessary in order to use the appropriate tools and obtain the best conditions of the materials. Thus, this article demonstrates the behavior of the materials, which used the polyester resin with ground paper residue to generate the two composites studied in this paper, Polyester/smaller paper (PO/ PME) and Polyester/large paper (PO/PMA). These two materials were molded by hot compression and subjected to manufacturing processes. Joinery equipment were chosen for the experimentation of cutting, drilling, screw insertion and sanding to analyze the performance of these composite materials. As a general result, it can be observed that the composites maintained their physical integrity, because the particles of the load remained well anchored in the matrix in the two composite materials tested, giving the finish an aspect without damages, cracks or imperfections after the operations. Therefore, it is concluded that the materials created can be submitted to the manufacturing techniques evaluated in this article, reinforcing previous studies that suggest its use in the development of products such as furniture, table tops, decorative objects and others. Thus, this study contributes to Designer has knowledge of the potential of the material and make the best use of it. Keywords: Composite, manufacturing techniques, cutting, finish.

Recycling of paper in industrial scale has become an established practice worldwide. In this work, organic compositions of three different kinds of sludge generated in recycle paper industry were studied, and the incorporation of one of those sludge in briket was also investigated. The characterization of organic compounds in sludge samples and briket was performed using Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry after a Soxhlet extraction. Different chemical classes were identified in each type of sludge, but just the sludge composed by cellulose residue did not presented polyaromatic hydrocarbons. Four formulations of sludge incorporated with charcoal for briket production were evaluated.

A lo largo de la segunda mitad siglo XX en la Argentina diferentes actores inscriptos en las instituciones de formacion de profesores de Educacion Fisica procuraron promover disimiles discursos y practicas con el objeto de legitimar en distintas esferas sociales a la disciplina. En esos procesos se establecieron dialogos con diversos saberes cientificos constituyendose lo que los actores de la Educacion Fisica denominaron como “tradiciones disciplinares”, asimismo promovieron desiguales inscripciones dentro del sistema de educacion superior. En este articulo profundizaremos en los procesos de configuracion de las saberes y practicas que hicieron a la construccion de la identidad de los profesores de educacion fisica en las decadas de 1970 y 1980. Para ello, analizaremos fuentes primarias y secundarias entre ellas se destacan los planes de estudio y los expedientes administrativos de distintas instituciones de formacion. En cada uno de los casos atenderemos a las tramas de construccion de los mismos. El recorrido posibilitara evidenciara que en el periodo considerado las producciones identitarias de los profesores de educacion fisica comenzaran a pensarse en una relacion de necesidad y de tension entre la investigacion y la docencia., Ao longo da segunda metade do século XX, na Argentina, diversos atores matriculados nas instituições de formação de professores de Educação Física buscaram promover discursos e práticas díspares para legitimar a disciplina em diferentes esferas sociais. Nestes processos, estabeleceram-se diálogos com saberes científicos diversos, constituindo o que os atores da Educação Física denominaram de “tradições disciplinares”, promovendo também matrículas desiguais no sistema de ensino superior. Este artigo tenta analisar tais processos. Nos aprofundaremos nos processos de configuração dos saberes e práticas que fizeram a construção da identidade dos professores de educação física nas décadas de 1970 e 1980. Para tanto, analisaremos fontes primárias e secundárias, entre elas, os planos de estudos e os arquivos administrativos de diferentes instituições de formação. Em cada um dos casos, atenderemos aos planos de construção do mesmo. O passeio permitirá mostrar que, no período considerado, as produções identitárias dos professores de educação física passam a pensar numa relação de necessidade e tensão entre pesquisa e ensino., Throughout the second half of the 20th century, in Argentina, different actors registered in Physical Education teacher training institutions tried to promote different discourses and practices to legitimize the discipline in different social spheres. In these processes, dialogues were established with diverse scientific knowledge, constituting what the actors of Physical Education called “disciplinary traditions”, also promoting unequal enrollment in the higher education system. This article seeks to analyze such processes. We will delve into the processes of configuration of knowledge and practices that built the identity of physical education teachers in the 1970s and 1980s. For this, we will analyze primary and secondary sources, including the study plans and administrative records of various training institutions. In each of the case, we will attend to the plans of its construction.
