The article discusses a court case wherein the defendant, the United States Postal Service (USPS), has filed a motion for summary judgment against the complaint of the plaintiff for negligence coming out of alleged hearing injuries resulting from an alarm on USPS vending machine. The court determined that the motion must apply the state law of Oregon where the alleged civil wrong occurred. The motion for summary judgment was granted, holding that the USPS acted reasonably in using the alarm.
