Cities differ from rural settlements in terms of their functional characteristics and land use practices. Dominant functional characteristics change as the population of cities increases and cities expand spatially. This change is very rapid, especially in settlements attached to large cities. The aim of this study is to reveal how the city of Etimesgut has changed in terms of its functional characteristics and land use practices since its foundation. In the study, a longitudinal research was carried out in terms of time dimension, one of the basic research types. The image quality of the middle photos belonging to the city of Etimesgut from 1940 and 1975 was increased and the reference points were taken and re-coordinated with the help of the Arc GIS 10.02 program and brought them closer to their real location. Finally, map sets were created by analyzing the land use information on the ready map for 2019. Thus, functional land use maps for the specified years were created and the change was revealed. The city of Etimesgut was planned as an agricultural village settlement in terms of its establishment purpose. However, the proximity of the city to the central settlement texture of Ankara and the existence of the train station in the establishment area caused the duration of commitment to agricultural production not too long. The urbanization adventure, which started with the transportation and agriculture functions for the research area, continues today with the trade health and education functions of the service sector., Fonksiyon özellikleri ve arazi kullanım pratikleri yönüyle şehirler kırsal yerleşmelerden farklıklar gösterirler. Şehirlerin nüfusu artıkça ve şehirler alansal olarak genişledikçe hâkim fonksiyonel özellikleri de değişime uğramaktadır. Özellikle de büyük şehirlere eklenmiş yerleşmelerde bu değişim oldukça hızlı olmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Etimesgut şehrinin ilk kurulduğu günden bugüne fonksiyonel özellikleri ve arazı kullanım pratikleri açısından nasıl bir değişim geçirdiğini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada temel araştırma çeşitlerinden zaman boyutu açısından boylamsal bir araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda Etimesgut şehrine ait 1940 ve 1975 yılına ait orta fotolara ulaşılmıştır. Bu orto fotolar, görüntü kalitesi artılarak Arc GIS 10.2 programı yardımıyla belirli referans noktaları alınıp yeniden koordinatlandırılmış ve gerçek konumuna en yakın haline getirilmiştir. Son olarak 2019 yılı hali hazır harita üzerinden arazi kullanım bilgisi analiz edilerek harita setleri oluşturulmuştur. Böylece belirlenen yıllara ait fonksiyonel arazi kullanım haritaları oluşturulmuş ve değişim ortaya konmuştur. Etimesgut şehri, kuruluş amacı bakımından tarımsal bir köy yerleşmesi olarak planlanmıştır. Ancak şehrin Ankara’nın merkezi yerleşim dokusuna yakınlığı, kuruluş sahasında yer alan tren istasyonunun varlığı tarımsal üretime bağlılığın süresinin çok uzun olmamasına neden olmuştur. Araştırma alanı için ulaşım ve tarım fonksiyonu başlayan şehirleşme serüveni günümüzde hizmet sektörüne ait ticaret sağlık ve eğitimi fonksiyonlarıyla devam etmektedir.

Her geçen gün değişen ve dönüşen dünyada eğitime yönelik yeni eğilimler ve paradigmalar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu yönüyle yükseköğretimde coğrafya eğitiminin bu paradigma değişiminin neresinde olduğu oldukça önemli bir konudur. Bu durum tespit edilirken farklı ülkelerdeki üniversitelerin uyguladığı eğitim anlayışlarını karşılaştırmanın faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, Uşak Üniversitesi ile Pecs Üniversitesinin yükseköğretim coğrafya bölümlerinin analitik bir karşılaştırmasını yapmaktır. Araştırma alanı olarak seçilen her iki üniversitenin coğrafya bölümlerinin akademik kadroları, ders programları, ders içerikleri ele alınarak karşılaştırma yapılmıştır. Bu kapsamda her iki üniversitenin web erişim alanlarından ikincil veri kaynaklarına ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma, betimsel analiz kapsamında Uşak ve Pecs üniversitesine ait görsel materyallerle desteklenmiştir. Pecs Üniversitesine kıyasla Uşak Üniversitesi coğrafya eğitimindeki gelişmelerin daha yavaş bir hızla gerçekleştiğini belirtmek mümkündür. Her iki bölüm arasındaki farkların başında uygulamalı coğrafya derslerinin programdaki yoğunluğu gelmektedir. Macaristan’da CBS ve arazi uygulamalarını yalnızca tek bir derste değil, tüm müfredat derslerine entegre ederek öğrencilerin yazılıma hakim olmaları hedeflenmektedir. Uşak’ta ise bu sürece 2012’den sonra itibaren kademeli geçiş yapmıştır. İki üniversite arasında lisans ve lisansüstü eğitim sürelerinin farklı olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Pecs üniversitesinde uygulama derslerinin yükseköğretimin her kademesinde daha fazla yer aldığı anlaşılmaktadır. Buna karşılık Uşak Üniversitesinde uygulamalı derslerin nispeten sınırlı sayıda olduğu söylenebilir. Uşak Üniversitesi Coğrafya bölümünde uygulamalardan hareketle Türkiye’nin yükseköğretim coğrafya eğitimi hedeflerinin başında CBS ve uzaktan algılama gibi teknolojilerin eğitim sisteminde daha fazla yer alması, değişen şartlara uygun coğrafya formasyonunun yeniden tasarlanması ve araziye çalışmalarına dayalı eğitim sisteminin sürdürülebilir olarak inşa edilmesi gelmelidir, In every day, there has been new trends and paradigms in the ever changing and transforming world. In this sense, the place of Geography Education in Higher Education Institutes is important depending on where it is situated in this paradigm. When this situation has been once identified, it is supposed that comparing the differences in Higher Education systems between countries has a big importance. The aim of the study is to make an analytical comparative study on Geography Higher Education systems as in the example of Turkey (Uşak University) and Hungary (Pecs University). The academic staff, syllabuses and course contents of Geography departments of the two universities have been compared. Compared to Hungary, it is possible to say developments in Geography Higher Education in Turkey move slower than Hungary. The main difference on the syllabuses of the Geography departments of the two countries derives from intensity of applied Geography courses. In Hungary, the courses of Geography Information Systems and Land Workshops are not limited to only single course and they are more integrated to the whole syllabus. Therefore, students are aimed to have a more comprehensive knowledge of the software. Turkey, on the other hand, has moved to this process more slowly since the beginning of 2000. The study period of Undergraudate and Master programs are also different in two universities. In Pecs University, applied courses have a stronger effect on the whole steps of Higher Education. However, in Uşak University applied courses are comparatively more limited. The ultimate targets of Turkey’s Geography Education in High Education Institutes are set as more technologies of Geography Information Systems and Remote Sensing, reformation of Geography depending on the ever changing conditions and incessant education system based on land practices

Şehirler her geçen gün nüfus bakımdan daha da kalabalıklaşmakta ve insan hayatı için yorucu olmaya devam etmektedir. Yoğun şehir yaşamı gürültü, ses ve görüntü kirliliği, trafik sorunları ve stres gibi birçok olumsuzlukları da beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu yoğun hayat tarzı içerisinde insanlar küçük zaman dilimlerinde de olsa rekreasyon faaliyetlerinde bulunmak ve biraz doğa ile ilgilenmek istemektedirler. Günümüz rekreasyon faaliyetleri içerisinde şehir yaşamına uygun olanlardan biriside hobi bahçeleridir. Hobi bahçeleri insanların tarımsal faaliyet, dinlenme, doğada olma gibi istekleri kapsamında yöneldikleri modern dünya rekreasyon faaliyetlerindendir. Çalışma sahamız olan Uşak Güzelbahçe hobi bahçelerini de coğrafi bir çerçevede değerlendirip genel hobi bahçesi literatürüne uyup uymadığını değerlendirilmiştir. Standart hobi bahçelerinden yer yer ayrılan çalışma sahamızda insanların hobi bahçesine çoğunlukla tarımsal faaliyet odaklı bakmış olsalar da yazlık ya da sadece dinlenme amaçlı yaklaşımların olduğu da tespit edilmiştir., Cities continue to become more crowded in terms of population and tiring for human life. Intensive city life brings with it many negativities such as noise, sound and visual pollution, traffic problems and stress. In this busy lifestyle, people want to engage in recreation activities and take care of nature, even in small time periods. Among the recreational activities of today, one of the ones suitable for city life is hobby gardens. Hobby gardens are one of the modern world recreation activities that people tend towards within the scope of their desires such as agricultural activity, rest and being in nature. The aim of the study is to examine the hobby gardens in Uşak in terms of their usage practices and housing characteristics. In the study, data were collected by interview method, one of the data collection tools in qualitative research methods. Hobby garden, which is our study area, has been evaluated in a geographical framework and whether it complies with the general hobby garden literature. In our study area, which has been separated from the standard hobby gardens, it has been determined that although they mostly look at the hobby garden as an agricultural activity, there are summer or only recreational approaches. In terms of residential features, single-room and prefabricated buildings are widely built in the hobby garden.

Sürdürülebilir turizmi, insanın içinde yaşadığı çevreyi koruyarak kültürel bütünlüğün, ekolojik süreçlerin devam ettirildiği ve aynı zamanda tüm kaynakların yöre insanı ve burayı ziyaret eden turistlerin ihtiyaçlarına cevap verecek şekilde korunarak gelecek nesillere aktarıldığı bir turizm yaklaşımı olarak ifade etmek mümkündür. Denizli ili sahip olduğu doğal, kültürel ve tarihi özellikler ile Türkiye’nin parlayan yıldızıdır. Denizli ili idari sınırları içinde yer alan Merkezefendi ve Pamukkale ilçeleri ilin sahip olduğu turizm varlıklarının pek çoğuna ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, Merkezefendi ve Pamukkale ilçelerinin turizm potansiyelini belirleyerek bu potansiyelin değerlendirilmesi ile ilgili önerilerde bulunmaktır. Çalışma için saha araştırması ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan doküman analizi çalışmaları yapılmıştır., Sustainable tourism can be expressed as a tourism approach in which cultural integrity and ecological processes are maintained by protecting the environment in which people live, and at the same time all resources are transferred to future generations by protecting the needs of local people and tourists visiting here. Denizli is owned natural, cultural and historical characteristics of Turkey's shining star. Merkezefendi and Pamukkale districts, which are located within the administrative borders of Denizli province, host many of the tourism assets of the province. The aim of the study is to determine the tourism potential of Merkezefendi and Pamukkale districts and make suggestions regarding the evaluation of this potential. Document analysis studies, one of the field research and qualitative research methods, were conducted for the study.
