We consider the Navier-Stokes equations in $\mathbb{R}^3$ subject to the initial condition with initial velocity field in $L^{2}_{\rm loc} (\mathbb{R}^3)$ such that $\limsup_{R \to +\infty } R^{-1} \|u_{0} \|_{ L^{2}(B(R))} < +\infty$. Our aim is to show the local existence of a weak solution, global existence of weak solution if $C=0$ and the partial regularity in the sense of Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg., Similar result is already obtained by Z. In this paper we prove a Liouville type theorem for the stationary MHD and the stationary Hall-MHD systems. Assuming suitable growth condition at infinity for the mean oscillations for the potential functions, we show that the solutions are trivial. We prove a blow up criterion in terms of the Hessian of the pressure of smooth solutions $u\in C([0, T); W^{2,q} (\mathbb R^3))$, $q>3$ of the incompressible Euler equations. In this paper we prove Liouville type theorem for the stationary Navier-Stokes equations in $\Bbb R^3$ under the assumptions on the relative decays of velocity, pressure and the head pressure. In this paper we prove three different Liouville type theorems for the steady Navier-Stokes equations in $\Bbb R^3$. In the first theorem we improve logarithmically the well-known $L^{\frac92} (\Bbb R^3)$ result. In the second theorem we present a sufficient condition for the trivially of the solution($v=0$) in terms of the head pressure, $Q=\frac12 |v|^2 +p$. We prove geometrically improved version of Prodi-Serrin type blow-up criterion. Let $v$ and $\omega$ be the velocity and the vorticity of solutions to the 3D Navier-Stokes equations and denote $\{f\}_+=\max\{f, 0\}$ , $Q_T=\Bbb R^3\times (0, T)$. If $\left\{\left( v \times \frac{\omega}{|\omega|} \right)\cdot \frac{\Lambda^{\beta}v}{|\Lambda^{\beta}v|}\right\}_+ \in L^{\gamma, \alpha}_{x,t} (Q_T)$ with $3/\gamma +2/\alpha \leq 1$ for some $\gamma >3$ and $1 \leq \beta \leq 2$, then the local smooth solution $v$ of the Navier-Stokes equations on $(0,T)$ can be continued to $(0, T+\delta)$ for some $\delta >0$. We also prove localized version of a special case of this. We study Beltrami flows in the setting of weak solution to the stationary Euler equations in $\Bbb R^3$. For this weak Beltrami flow we prove the regularity and the Liouville property. In particular, we show that if tangential part of the velocity has certain decay property at infinity, then the solution becomes trivial. This decay condition of of the velocity is weaker than the previously known sufficient conditions for the Liouville property of the Betrami flows. For the proof we establish a mean value formula and other various formula for the tangential and the normal components of the weak solutions to the stationary Euler equations., 10 pages

We study a nonlinear parabolic system for a time dependent solenoidal vector field on $\Bbb R^3$. The nonlinear term of this new model equations is obtained slightly modifying that of the Navier-Stokes equations. The system has the same scaling property and the Galileian invariance as the Navier-Stokes equations. In this paper we prove Liouville type result for the stationary solutions to the compressible Navier-Stokes-Poisson equations(NSP) and the compressible Navier-Stokes equations(NS) in $\Bbb R^N$, $N\geq 2$. Assuming suitable integrability and the uniform boundedness conditions for the solutions we are led to the conclusion that $v=0$. In the case of (NS) we deduce that the similar integrability conditions imply $v=0$ and $\rho=$constant on $\Bbb R^N$. This shows that if we impose the the non-vacuum boundary condition at spatial infinity for (NS), $v\to 0$ and $\rho\to \rho_\infty >0$, then $v=0$, $\rho=\rho_\infty$ are the solutions., Comment: 8 pages

In this paper we study the Euler-Poincar�� equations in $\Bbb R^N$. We prove local existence of weak solutions in $W^{2,p}(\Bbb R^N),$ $p>N$, and local existence of unique classical solutions in $H^k (\Bbb R^N)$, $k>N/2+3$, as well as a blow-up criterion. For the zero dispersion equation($��=0$) we prove a finite time blow-up of the classical solution. We also prove that as the dispersion parameter vanishes, the weak solution converges to a solution of the zero dispersion equation with sharp rate as $��\to0$, provided that the limiting solution belongs to $C([0, T);H^k(\Bbb R^N))$ with $k>N/2 +3$. For the {\em stationary weak solutions} of the Euler-Poincar�� equations we prove a Liouville type theorem. Any classical solution of the 2D incompressible Euler equation is global in time. However, it remains an outstanding open problem whether classical solutions of the surface quasi-geostrophic (SQG) equation preserve their regularity for all time. This paper studies solutions of a family of active scalar equations in which each component $u_j$ of the velocity field $u$ is determined by the scalar $\theta$ through $u_j =\mathcal{R} \Lambda^{-1} P(\Lambda) \theta$ where $\mathcal{R}$ is a Riesz transform and $\Lambda=(-\Delta)^{1/2}$. The 2D Euler vorticity equation corresponds to the special case $P(\Lambda)=I$ while the SQG equation to the case $P(\Lambda) =\Lambda$. We develop tools to bound $\|\nabla u||_{L^\infty}$ for a general class of operators $P$ and establish the global regularity for the Loglog-Euler equation for which $P(\Lambda)= (\log(I+\log(I-\Delta)))^\gamma$ with $0\le \gamma\le 1$. In addition, a regularity criterion for the model corresponding to $P(\Lambda)=\Lambda^\beta$ with $0\le \beta\le 1$ is also obtained.

We prove the finite time blow-up for $C^1$ solutions to the Euler-Poisson equations in $\Bbb R^n$, $n\geq 1$, with/without background density for initial data satisfying suitable conditions. We prove Liouville type of theorems for weak solutions of the Navier-Stokes and the Euler equations. In particular, if the pressure satisfies $ p\in L^1 (0,T; L^1 (\Bbb R^N))$ with $\int_{\Bbb R^N} p(x,t)dx \geq 0$, then the corresponding velocity should be trivial, namely $v=0$ on $\Bbb R^N \times (0,T)$. We consider possible generation of singularities of a vector field transported by diffeomorphisms with derivatives of uniformly bounded determinants. A particular case of volume preserving diffeomrphism is the most important, since it has direct applications to the incompressible, inviscid hydrodynamics. We find relations between the directions of the vector field and the eigenvectors of the derivative of the back-to-label map near the singularity. We also find an invariant when we follow the motion of the integral curves of the vector field. For the 3D Euler equations these results have immediate implications about the directions of the vortex stretching and the material stretching near the possible singularities. We also have similar applications to the other inviscid, incompressible fluid equations such as the 2D quasi-geostrophic equation and the 3D magnetohydrodynamics equations., Comment: 15 pages

We study blow-up rates and the blow-up profiles of possible asymptotically self-similar singularities of the 3D Euler equations, where the sense of convergence and self-similarity are considered in various sense. We extend much further, in particular, the previous nonexistence results of self-similar/asymptotically self-similar singularities obtained in \cite{cha1,cha2}. Some implications the notions for the 3D Navier-Stokes equations are also deduced. The question of spontaneous apparition of singularity in the 3D incompressible Euler equations is one of the most important and challenging open problems in mathematical fluid mechanics. In this survey article we review some of recent approaches to the problem. We first review Kato's classical local well-posedness result in the Sobolev space and derive the celebrated Beale-Kato-Majda criterion for finite time blow-up. Then, we discuss recent refinements of the criterion as well as geometric type of theorems on the sufficiency condition for the regularity of solutions. After that we review results excluding some of the scenarios leading to finite time singularities. We also survey studies of various simplified model problems. A dichotomy type of result between the finite time blow-up and the global in time regular dynamics is presented, and a spectral dynamics approach to study local in time behaviors of the enstrophy is also reviewed. We study existence and various behaviors of topological multivortices solutions of the relativistic self-dual Maxwell-Chern-Simons-Higgs system. We first prove existence of general topological solutions by applying variational methods to the newly discovered minimizing functional. Then, by an iteration method we prove existence of topological solutions satisfying some extra conditions, which we call admissible solutions. We establish asymptotic exponential decay estimates for these topological solutions. We also investigate the limiting behaviors of the admissible solutions as parameters in our system goes to some limits. For the Abelian Higgs limit we obtain strong convergence result, while for the Chern-Simons limit we only obtained that our admissible solutions are weakly approximating one of the Chern-Simons solutions., Comment: 29 pages, Tmain.tex is body
