This method is also used for rapid prototyping, which uses layer on top of layer deposition of the material using hot extruders to build a given 3D model. 3D printing technology basically a tool-less process designed specifically to avoid assembly requirements with intricate geometry and complex features created at no extra cost and at the same time it is an energy-efficient technology that can provide environmental efficiencies in terms of both the manufacturing process and material utilization. This research primarily focuses on analyzing the critical process parameters and its influence on the properties of the components made out of FDM process. The FDM specimens are fabricated by using four factors (parameters) at three levels, and the factors are layer thickness, travel speed of the extruder, infill ratio, and infill density. The experiments are designed based on Taguchi L-9 orthogonal array. Total three responses are considered and they are tensile strength compressive strength and flexural strength. For this research, a 5 KW standalone wind and solar power combined system is developed, manufactured and ground tested. The dimension of this transportable device is width= 8 ft, 5 in, depth =∼ 8 in, 4 in, and height = ∼ 38 ft. This device comprises of four solar panels (120 watts), a wind turbine (1.5 KW), a solar charge controller, remote power storage, battery and battery control. Without the need for a grid, this hybrid device can be used in highways, and various other applications. There has been significant increase in the use of composites materials as structural materials in most of the engineering applications. Here we have used Lapox 12 epoxy resin and K6 hardener as matrix, then polypropylene bags as reinforcement and Titanium dioxide and aluminum dioxide as filler materials. We made five samples of composite materials with different proportions of filler materials and tests including tensile test, flexural test, wear test, Rockwell hardness test and izod impact test are done to determine different mechanical features of the composite materials. The aim of this project is to examine the mechanical features and sliding wear performance of poly propylene reinforced epoxy composites with filler materials. Hand layup technique is used for the manufacturing of specimen and a 30 cm x 30cm x 0.3cm specimen is made and after that it is cutted in to required shapes and sizes as per ASTM standards. The test result of all specimen are tabulated and analyzed. Continuous change and improvement in structure of disc brake rotor is important in design of braking system. Major focus is given on thermal and structural behavior of disc brake rotor for improved braking systems. In this article we propose a new structure by providing curved vents, holes and slots on the surface of solid disc brake rotor and analyze its stress distribution in rotor and contact pressure distribution in pressure pads. Ansys software package was used to model and analyze the disc rotors and pressure pads. Von Mises stress distribution and pressure distribution for new disc and the older solid disc brake rotor is compared. Transient behavior of these two factors from the start of braking to complete stop of vehicle is investigated. From the simulation of stress distribution and contact pressure variation it is seen that the traditional solid disc brake is outperformed by the new proposed structure of the disc. Nanofluids can be considered to be the next-generation heat transfer fluids as they offer exciting new possibilities to enhance heat transfer performance compared to pure liquids. In this paper preparation of Ethylene Glycol (EG) based graphite nanofluid by two step method using PVP as surfactant is studied. Four different volume concentrations of 0.05%, 0.2%, 0.86% and 2% nanoparticles are suspended in the EG base fluid by ultrasonication for 5 hours. The effect of shear rate from 10-100s-1 on viscosity of nanofluid is performed at a fixed temperature. The nanoparticle size considered for analysis of viscosity is <50nm. Further, the thermal conductivity of prepared nanofluid is estimated at a constant temperature for nanoparticle size of <50nm and <100nm. From this complete investigation it is concluded that the viscosity of nanofluid increased with change in volume concentration. Thermal conductivity ratio has shown a linear improvement with increasing volume concentration of nanoparticle. This paper mainly deals with the mathematical modeling, numerical analysis and Comparison of the thermal performance characteristics of a two-dimensional model of a nuclear fuel element cooled in a surrounding medium with those of one-dimensional model for different cladding materials and cladding thickness. Accordingly, the steady state equations governing the temperature field both for one and twodimensional models with appropriate boundary conditions are solved numerically using second order central finite difference scheme. Line-by-Line method of solution procedure is then employed to get the algebraic equations which are solved using the famous Thomas Algorithm. Numerically simulated results for a wide range of Biot number, Bi, Conductivity ratio Cr, thickness ratio Th and heat generation parameter, Qt are presented and discussed. It is observed that the one dimensional model prediction is satisfactory only for lower values of parameters considered, for higher values of parameters it over predicts the two dimensional model. It is also observed that for fixed values of Ar, Qt and Bi, there exists a critical value of Th beyond which maximum temperature in the fuel element exceeds its allowable limit. The main objective of this study is to find which Nano fluid is more efficient to transfer heat in a solar flat plate collector by considering various physical parameters like density, specific heat, thermal conductivity, viscosity etc. Model was created and simulated using "Ansys-Fluent" software (K-€ model was used for turbulent flow simulation). Different working fluids such as Al203 and CUO were made to flow inside the single flat plate collector (SFPC). The simulations were carried out by varying flow rate, volumetric fraction of Nanoparticle etc. to the model to get best power output, efficiency, useful heat and heat losses so that the similar conditions can be applied to the actual system.
