In this paper, we first investigate the regularity of finite energy solutions to the following Wolff type integral system: { u (x) = R 1 (x) W β , γ (v p u r) (x) , u (x) > 0 , x ∈ R N , v (x) = R 2 (x) W β , γ (u q v s) (x) , v (x) > 0 , x ∈ R N , where γ > 1 , β > 0 , β γ < N , W β , γ is the Wolff potential, R 1 , R 2 are double bounded functions in R N and p , q > max ⁡ { 1 , γ − 1 } , r , s ≥ 0 with p − s ≥ q − r > − γ + 1. We exploit the regularity lifting lemma to obtain the optimal integrability, boundedness and decaying property of finite energy solutions to the system. Secondly, we establish sharp pointwise estimates of positive finite energy solutions to the p -Laplacian and k -Hessian systems related to the above integral system, by using the previous regularity results, the interior Hölder estimates of solutions for the corresponding differential systems and a doubling lemma of Poláčik, Quittner and Souplet (Duke Math. J.,2007). These extend Vétois's decay results (Indiana Univ. Math. J.,2019) on the positive solutions of Laplacian systems to the p -Laplacian and k -Hessian cases. We remark that our methods do not need Harnack type inequalities and it can be applied to deal with the solutions without radial structures. As far as we know, this is the first attempt to derive sharp decay estimates for possibly non-radial solutions involving k -Hessian operators. It is shown in this paper that suitable weak solutions to the 6D steady incompressible Navier-Stokes are Hölder continuous at 0 provided that ∫ B 1 | u (x) | 3 d x + ∫ B 1 | f (x) | q d x or ∫ B 1 | ∇ u (x) | 2 d x + ∫ B 1 | ∇ u (x) | 2 d x (∫ B 1 | u (x) | d x) 2 + ∫ B 1 | f (x) | q d x with q > 3 is sufficiently small, which implies that the 2D Hausdorff measure of the set of singular points is zero. For the boundary case, we also obtain that 0 is regular provided that ∫ B 1 + | u (x) | 3 d x + ∫ B 1 + | f (x) | 3 d x or ∫ B 1 + | ∇ u (x) | 2 d x + ∫ B 1 + | f (x) | 3 d x is sufficiently small. These results improve previous regularity theorems by Dong-Strain ([8] , Indiana Univ. Math. J., 2012), Dong-Gu ([7] , J. Funct. Anal., 2014), and Liu-Wang ([27] , J. This paper examines the dynamics behind the selling of a federally owned World War II factory in Tell City, Indiana in 1946 and 1947. The federal agency charged with disposing of wartime plant, the War Assets Administration, reversed its decision to sell the factory to a small innovative company, Electra-Voice, selling it instead to the giant electrical equipment manufacturer, General Electric. What would make federal administrators who were part of a powerful liberal state apparatus committed to economic competition and anti-monopoly change their mind? The answer lies in what I call place-based corporate hegemony. Probing the material consequences of everyday action, place-based corporate hegemony revolves around the formation of alliances based on axiomatic values, the continued appeal of these values, the redistribution of symbolic and material resources, and the incorporation of threatening elements. Deploying a range of archival materials I show how the concerted efforts of the community, business organizations, politicians and unions as well as General Electric to question the initial decision forced the state to rethink and change its decision. Abstract: Cancer is a health endpoint influenced by a multitude of factors, including genetic history, individual behavior, and environmental insults. The ubiquity of toxicants in the environment has raised questions about the extent of their role in causing cancer in humans. More specifically, it is desirable to understand the cancer incidence due to airborne toxicants in anthropogenic pollution. One particular class of such pollutants is volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This paper reports an epidemiological investigation of the incidence of cancer in the 92 counties of Indiana. We evaluated the relationship between the amount of VOCs released in each county, as reported by the Toxic Release Inventory, and the county-by-county incidence of various types of cancer, especially those of less common organ systems not directly associated with the absorption or distribution of toxicants. Our evaluation considered chlorinated versus nonchlorinated emissions as well as stack versus fugitive emissions. We evaluated three models: linear, quadratic, and polynomial. Of these, the quadratic model appeared to be the best predictor (highest r 2) for most endpoints for which there was a positive correlation. However, the linear model was the most sensitive (lowest P-value) for skin, melanoma, and endocrine-related cancers, including female genital system cancers. Our results indicate a relationship between emissions of VOCs and the incidence of some types of cancers. Most notable were strong correlations between VOC emissions and cancers of the brain, nervous system, endocrine system, and skin. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

In 1836, the state of Indiana set out to build a Mammoth system of canals, railroads, and turnpikes following a decade of intense debate in which sectional rivalries prevented any state action. This paper investigates the role played by the adoption of an ad valorem property tax in ameliorating the sectional rivalries and coordinating the costs of financing the transportation system with the taxes levied to finance it. It also traces the rise and fall of land values in the state between 1835 and 1842, estimating the effect of internal improvement projects on land values. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
