The quality of minority college students' educational experiences is poor compared to those of White college students. This is attributed to the differential patterns of enrollment among higher educational institutions, with Black and Hispanic students attending colleges with the least resources and educational experience. The racial stratification, which may limit the employment opportunities of Blacks and Hispanics, can be addressed by promoting partnerships between four-year institutions and secondary schools designed to prepare minority students to succeed in higher education.

The increase in the enrolment of Blacks in historically Black institutions increases segregation in the states where the historically Black institutions are located. Increasing segregation with enhancement in Black student enrolment indicate an increase in the representation ratios of Black students in these states. This causes a reemergence of the dilemma surrounding desegregation and Black student representation.

An analysis of the status of Hispanic students in United States institutions of higher education reveals that segregation is practised by these institutions resulting in inequality in educational opportunities, educational resources and quality of education for Hispanic students. Improvements should be made to provide modern facilities and educational resources to these students who require financial aid from the government. Institutions should increase their numbers of Hispanic faculty and should provide fellowships and scholarships to these students.

An analysis to determine the extent of segregation between American Indian and white undergraduate students discusses the educational consequences of segregation and suggests options to increase educational opportunities for American Indian students. Segregation leads to educational inequality for racial groups and is found to be higher in American Indian tribal colleges. Tribal colleges should receive financial support from governments to be able to provide modern facilities and educational resources to American Indian students who enroll in large members.
