The effect of impurity on edge turbulence was investigated on the HL-2A tokamak using neon supersonic molecular beam injection (SMBI). For the first time, a stationary radiative layer accompanied by edge localized turbulence (ELT) lasting more than 100 ms is observed at the edge region $\rho = 0.7\sim0.9$ . This duration is much longer than the SMBI pulse length (1.2 ms), indicating that the impurity diffusion is on the whole canceled out by the impurity convection without spreading of the localized turbulence during this period. This implies that the impurity convection is reversed from the positive to the negative impurity density gradient region. This reversal could be explained by the parallel impurity compression mechanism. The observed turbulence is a broadband electrostatic turbulence (25–70 kHz) propagating in the electron diamagnetic drift direction with a normalized poloidal wavenumber of $0.1 \unicode{x2A7D} {k_\theta }{\rho _{\text{s}}} \unicode{x2A7D} 0.4$ . It has been found that the excitation of the ELT strongly depends on the local collisionality ${\nu ^*}$ . This feature is qualitatively predicted by the spectral multiscale gyrokinetic turbulence simulation, which suggests that the turbulence could be a dissipative trapped electron mode. This experiment demonstrates that mutual interaction between externally injected impurity ions and edge turbulence can generate a stationary edge radiative layer and avoid impurity core accumulation. These results could provide a potential approach for the formation of a stable impurity radiative layer by impurity injection in tokamaks.

Recent observations on the HL-2A tokamak give new experimental evidence of resonant tearing modes (r-TMs) caused by the redistribution of energetic ions (EIs) due to sawtooth collapses in neutral beam injection plasmas. The $m/n = 2/1$ ( m and n are the poloidal and toroidal mode numbers) r-TMs with frequencies chirping down rapidly are found after strong bursts of fishbone modes and closely followed strong sawtooth collapses. The frequencies of fishbone modes and r-TMs chirp down from 10 to 7 kHz and 5 to 2 kHz rapidly, higher and lower than the 4–6 kHz existing weak resistive TMs. The fishbone modes propagate in ion diamagnetic drift directions in poloidal. In contrast, r-TMs propagate in the electron diamagnetic drift direction, though r-TMs are excited by EIs. It is suggested that counter-passing EIs, which originated from redistribution of EIs due to fishbone modes and combined with sawtooth collapses, excite r-TMs. Simulation results from the M3D-K code reveal that the counter-passing EIs play an important role in the excitation of r-TMs. The results can help broaden understanding of the interaction mechanisms between energetic particles and TMs, and open up a new perspective on the excitation mechanism of r-TMs.

The role of a series of quasi-coherent modes (QCMs) on the turbulence properties has been investigated during Type-III ELMs under HL-2A high confinement mode (H-mode) scenarios. The QCMs are essentially electrostatic and appear during the inter-ELM periods, with a frequency ranging from 20 kHz to 60 kHz. These QCMs are localized in the pedestal region and are related to the saturation of density gradient in the pedestal. Nonlinear couplings between QCMs and ambient turbulence have been observed and also verified through the envelope modulation of turbulence in density by the radial electrical field fluctuation of the modes. The presence of QCMs can increase the radial and poloidal turbulence correlation lengths, thereby modulating the turbulent transport. Experimental results show that QCMs significantly impact pedestal turbulence and transport by increasing the correlation length as well as the decorrelation time of turbulent eddies. The flow shearing rate in pedestal region is also enhanced to a level that surpasses the decorrelation frequency of turbulence, thus, the existence of QCMs has the ability to put off the ELM burst due to relative stronger stabilization of turbulence by sheared flows. The above results have demonstrated that the pedestal dynamics is largely determined by the complex interactions among QCMs, turbulence and the shear flow.

A divertor detachment with sustainable high-performance plasmas has been achieved through divertor nitrogen seeding in the HL-2A tokamak. The closed divertor structure facilitates achieving high divertor neutral pressure due to its efficient particle containment effect as demonstrated by both experimental and SOLPS simulation results, which aids in achieving the divertor detachment. The radiative divertor is conducive to high-frequency small edge localized modes (ELMs) operation, characterized by a reduced pedestal ion temperature gradient $\nabla {T_{\text{i}}}$ and the enhanced electron density gradient $\nabla {n_{\text{e}}}$ . The presence of minority nitrogen at the edge plasma, which results from the divertor nitrogen seeding, contributes to the increase of ion temperature ${T_{\text{i}}}$ in the confinement region by suppressing the turbulence through the impurity dilution effect and ${\mathbf{E}} \times {\mathbf{B}}$ shear. The increased ion temperature ${T_{\text{i}}}$ and electron density $n_e$ compensate the energy loss resulting from the increased edge radiation during detachment, which contributes to the confinement sustainment combined with reduced pedestal energy loss caused by small ELMs. This work advances our understanding of the fundamental physics governing closed divertor detachment with sustainable high-performance plasmas through divertor nitrogen seeding.

Since the first plasma realized in 2020, a series of key systems on HL-3 (known as HL-2M before) tokamak have been equipped/upgraded, including in-vessel components (the first wall, lower divertor, and toroidal cryogenic/water-cooling/baking/glow discharge systems, etc.), auxiliary heating system of 11 MW, and 28 diagnostic systems (to measure the plasma density, electron temperature, radiation, magnetic field, etc.). Magnet field systems were commissioned firstly for divertor plasma discharges. During the 2nd experimental campaign of HL-3 tokamak, several great progresses have been achieved. Firstly, the successful operation with plasma current larger than 1 MA was achieved under a divertor configuration. Secondly, the advanced divertor concept with two distinct snowflake configurations was realized. It is found that the distribution of ion saturation current and heat flux on bottom plate becomes wide due to magnetic surface expansion, demonstrating the advantage of such configuration in the heat flux mitigation. In addition, using the combination of NBI, ECRH and LHCD, the standard sawtoothing high confinement mode of megampere plasma was firstly accessed on the HL-3. The successful commissioning of HL-3 is beneficial for the initial operation of ITER.

A low-frequency zonal flow-like (LFZF-like) structure peaking at f ≈ 2.0 kHz has been observed in HL-2A ohmically heated deuterium plasmas using a combined Langmuir probe array. This time-varying potential structure, which has axisymmetric characteristics ( n = 0) and a finite radial correlation length (less than 1 cm), was identified to be generated by the three-wave interaction in small-scale turbulence. The results illustrate that the amplitude of the LFZF-like structure dramatically increases with the influence of impurity ions, which is mainly due to the increased strength in the nonlinear energy transfer by the turbulence vortex symmetry-breaking process. Consequently, the enhanced LFZF-like structure has the ability to stabilize the local turbulence via the shearing decorrelation mechanism as demonstrated in this experiment. The observed results given here reveal the essential role played by the LFZF-like structure in the reduction of turbulence levels, which could advance our understanding of the multi-scale physics governing turbulence and the resulting transport in magnetically confined plasmas.

This research employs multi-source data including big data, remote sensing raster data, and statistical vector data. Through the superposition of tourism activity points of interest with remotely sensed inversion raster data like human carbon emissions, net primary productivity, and kilometer-grid GDP, the carbon emissions, carbon sinks, and economic output of tourism attractions are obtained. Data envelopment analysis and econometric models are utilized to assess the "carbon emissions–carbon sinks–economic output" coupling efficiency relationship and driving mechanism under the framework of the tourism carbon neutrality process. This research takes Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau region, which has had a severe response to global climate change and is particularly deficient in statistical and monitoring data, as an example. It is found that in Gannan Prefecture, which is at the primary stage of tourism development, with a high degree of dependence on the location and regional economic development level, the challenge of decoupling carbon emissions from the economy is significant. The carbon neutrality process in natural tourism attractions is marginally superior to that in cultural tourism attractions. However, even among natural tourism attractions, the number of spots achieving high carbon sink efficiency is extremely limited. There remains considerable scope for achieving carbon neutrality process through carbon sinks in the future. The location and vegetation conditions can exert a direct and positive influence on the improvement of carbon efficiency in tourist destinations. Establishing natural tourism attractions near cities is more conducive to facilitating carbon neutrality. This research highlights the advantages of remote sensing methods in specific sectors such as tourism where quality monitoring facilities and methods are lacking and provides a reference for evaluating the tourism carbon neutrality process and managing environmental sustainability on tourism attractions in similar regions and specific sectors worldwide. Microalgae are known for their efficient removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) through biosorption and bioaccumulation, yet the subsequent release of Cr(VI) upon cell death remains a challenge. The reduction of Cr(VI) to the less toxic trivalent chromium [Cr(III)] is another critical remediation strategy that mitigates the risk of Cr(VI) re-release, but research on microalgal reduction of Cr(VI) is scarce. In this study, a microalgal strain designated as MQ-1 was isolated from chromium-contaminated mine effluent, demonstrating the capability to tolerate and remove Cr(VI). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that MQ-1 is closely related to the genus Chlorella; hence, it is classified as Chlorella sp. MQ-1. This strain exhibited robust growth at Cr(VI) concentrations below 2 mg/L, achieving a removal rate higher than 82% for initial Cr(VI) concentrations between 0.5 and 1 mg/L after a 5-day incubation period. Mechanistic studies revealed that MQ-1 promoted the removal of Cr(VI) mainly through intracellular bioreduction and bioaccumulation processes, in which more than 60% of Cr(VI) was reduced to the less toxic Cr(III) and stocked in the cells. A two-stage cultivation strategy, involving initial biomass accumulation followed by Cr(VI) treatment, significantly enhanced the removal efficiency, which was further accelerated under illuminated conditions. Notably, MQ-1 cultures with initial OD680 values of 4 and 6 accomplished 84.28% and 91.31% Cr(VI) removal from 2 mg/L solutions, respectively, within 30 hours under light exposure. These findings highlight the potential of MQ-1 to utilize renewable solar energy to reduce Cr(VI) and to mitigate the risk of its re-release into the environment. This characteristic positions MQ-1 as a potentially sustainable and cost-effective solution for Cr(VI) remediation and suggests its significant potential for large-scale implementation in bioremediation strategies aimed at Cr(VI)-contaminated waters. Autophagy is a crucial mechanism for recycling intracellular materials, and under normal metabolic conditions, it is maintained at low levels in cells. However, when nutrients are deficient or under hypoxic conditions, the level of autophagy significantly increases. Particularly in cancer cells, which grow more rapidly than normal cells and tend to grow in a three-dimensional manner, cells inside the cell mass often face limited oxygen supply, leading to inherently higher levels of autophagy. Therefore, the initial development of anticancer drugs targeting autophagy was based on a strategy to suppress these high levels of autophagy. However, anticancer drugs that inhibit autophagy have not shown promising results in clinical trials, as it has been revealed that autophagy does not always play a role that favors cancer cell survival. Background: Exercise or vitamin D intervention can reduce the risk of arterial stiffness; however, the underlying mechanisms of lipid metabolism remain unexplored. To examine the effects of a 12-week moderate and vigorous exercise program (65–80% maximal heart rate, 60 min/time, 2~3 times/week) with or without vitamin D supplementation (1000 IU/day) on the reduction in arterial stiffness and further explore whether the effects of interventions could be associated with the basal lipidome among patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitum (T2DM). Method: 61 patients with T2DM were randomly assigned to the following groups: control (CON, n = 15), exercise (EX, n = 14), vitamin D (VD, n = 16), and exercise + vitamin D (EX + VD, n = 16). Arterial stiffness risk factors (ankle–brachial index (ABI); brachial–ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP)) were evaluated before and after the intervention. The plasma lipidome was determined using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry. Machine learning was applied to establish prediction models for the responsiveness to arterial stiffness. Result: Vitamin D supplementation could inhibit the decrease in the ankle–brachial index (mean ± SD: EX + VD and VD, −0.001 ± 0.058; EX + CON, −0.047 ± −0.089; p = 0.03). We observed high inter-individual variability in the arterial stiffness risk factors in response to the interventions. We also found that optimally selecting the lipid predictors at baseline, such as SM d44:6, LPE 18:2, and Hex2Cer 29:0, could enhance the predictive power by 100% for arm SBP changes in the exercise group. Basal levels of Cer (33:1) and GM3 (44:4) could enhance the predictive power by 100% for changes in baPWV in the vitamin D group. Conclusions: A 12-week vitamin D supplementation was beneficial in preventing arterial stiffness. Compared with traditional clinical risk factors, specific lipids at baseline could significantly improve the ability to predict intervention-induced changes in the reduction of arterial stiffness. Amorphous carbon is recognized as an excellent lubricating material; however, its tribological properties are significantly influenced by humidity. To elucidate the mechanism underlying this humidity dependence and to propose a novel enhancement method, we investigated and compared the tribological properties of hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H) and amorphous carbon/gold (a-C/Au) composite films. First, the friction coefficient of these carbon films under different humidity conditions was tested using a rotational ball-on-disk tribometer. Subsequently, we analyzed the morphology and structure of the sliding interface employing optical microscopy (OM), Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Finally, first-principle calculations were carried out to calculate the adsorption energy of water molecules on different surfaces. The results indicate that the friction coefficient of a-C:H film and the area of transfer film increase with the increase of humidity. This phenomenon can be attributed to the fact that water molecules enhance the interaction between the a-C:H film and steel counterfaces. Notably, in contrast, the friction coefficient of a-C/Au film demonstrates low sensitivity to humidity due to the formation of an Au transfer film that exhibits weak interaction with water molecules. These findings provide a promising strategy for developing environment-adaptive amorphous carbon films and play an important role in promoting the development of intelligent lubricating film. Large volumes of waste tires are generated due to the rapid growth of the transportation industry. An effective method of recycling waste tires is needed. Using rubber from tires to improve problematic soils has become a research topic. In this paper, the dynamic response of rubber fiber-reinforced expansive soil under freeze–thaw cycles is investigated. Dynamic triaxial tests were carried out on rubber fiber-reinforced expansive soil subjected to freeze–thaw cycles. The results showed that with the increase in the number of freeze–thaw cycles, the dynamic stress amplitude and dynamic elastic modulus of rubber fiber-reinforced expansive soils first decrease and then increase, and the damping ratio first increases and then decreases, all of which reach the turning point at the 6th freeze–thaw cycle. The dynamic stress amplitude and dynamic elastic modulus decreased by 59.4% and 52.2%, respectively, while the damping ratio increased by 99.8% at the 6th freeze–thaw cycle. The linear visco-elastic model was employed to describe the hysteretic curve of rubber fiber-reinforced expansive soil. The elastic modulus of the linear elastic element and the viscosity coefficient of the linear viscous element first decrease and then increase with the increase in the number of freeze–thaw cycles; all reach the minimum value at the 6th freeze–thaw cycle. The dynamic stress–dynamic strain curve calculation method is established based on the hyperbolic model and linear visco-elastic model, and the verification shows that the effect is better. Poly(vinyl acetate) nanofibers doped with PdS-ZnS nanoparticles (PdS-ZnS/PVAc nanofibers) were fabricated via an electrospinning technique. PdS-ZnS nanoparticles were in situ synthesized by adding (NH4)2S solution to poly(vinyl acetate)/zinc acetate/palladium acetate solution. Electrospinning of the formed colloidal solution led to the formation of poly(vinyl acetate) nanofibers containing uniformly distributed PdS-ZnS nanoparticles. The prepared samples were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. In photocatalytic activity investigation, the PdS-ZnS/PVAc nanofibers showed remarkably enhanced performance towards water photosplitting under solar irradiation compared to the ZnS/PVAc nanofibers. This enhanced performance is attributed to the synergistic effects of heterostructured PdS-ZnS nanoparticles, which can improve photogenerated charge migration and solar light absorption. In order to investigate the composition and differences in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in yak and cattle-yak meat and determine the key metabolites and metabolic pathways related to flavor formation. In this study, the VOCs and non-volatile metabolites in Longissimus dorsi muscle of two groups of samples were detected and analyzed by gas chromatography–ion migration spectrometry (GC-IMS) and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results showed that 31 VOCs were identified by GC-IMS, including 5 alcohols, 5 ketones, 5 esters, 3 aldehydes, 2 furans, 2 hydrocarbons, 1 amine, 1 acid, 1 thiazole, 1 pyrazine, and 5 others. Most of them were alcohols, ketones, esters, and aldehydes. A total of 75 non-volatile metabolites with significant differences were obtained by GC-MS screening, among which amino acid contents such as serine, glycine, phenylalanine, and aspartic acid were significantly up-regulated in cattle-yak, and glutamic acid and tyrosine were significantly up-regulated in yak. The non-volatile differential metabolites in the two groups were significantly enriched in the metabolic pathways of arginine biosynthesis and oxidative phosphorylation. By combining GC-IMS and GC-MS, this study comprehensively and intuitively reflected the differences in VOCs between yak and cattle-yak meat, and clarified the metabolomic reasons for the differences in VOCs, so as to provide a theoretical basis for meat quality improvement. Environmental regulation (ER) and internet development (ID) are important options for addressing the environmental health crisis, but the actual impact of both on public health outcomes (PHOs) is still unclear. This study aims to explain how and to what extent China's ER and ID jointly affect PHO. This is especially important for enhancing the degree of coordination between ecosystems and socioeconomic systems and realizing a harmonious symbiotic relationship between human beings and nature. Unlike previous studies, this paper innovatively incorporates ER and ID into the Grossman health production function, establishing a research framework that includes these factors and their impact on PHO. We employed the provincial panel data from China to methodically analyze the importance of ER and ID in responding to environmental health crises and improving public health, so as to close the gaps in the literature. On the basis of the validation of pollution in China endangering PHO and having heterogeneous manifestations, this paper employed a moderating effect model to confirm that ER and ID can mitigate the harm pollution has on PHO. Furthermore, the two have both demonstrated considerable PHO improvement impacts, with the regional heterogeneity of ER's PHO improvement effect being more pronounced. The usage of the spatial effects model proves that ER and ID have significant spatial performance. Furthermore, as the internet develops, the PHO-improving effects of both comprehensive ER and diverse environmental regulatory tools are becoming more pronounced. According to the study's findings, the government should consider ER and ID as major policy alternatives for improving national health. We developed a policy framework that incorporates multiple measures to boost public health protection in the two, and which aids in the exploration and improvement of feasible solutions to improve public health levels. We propose a new definition of the γ -convex stochastic processes (C SP) using center and radius (CR) order with the notion of interval valued functions (C. R I. V) . By utilizing this definition and Mean-Square Fractional Integrals, we generalize fractional Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer-type inclusions for generalized   C. R I. V versions of convex, tgs-convex, P-convex, exponential-type convex, Godunova–Levin convex, s-convex, Godunova–Levin s-convex, h-convex, n-polynomial convex, and fractional n-polynomial (C SP) . The lack of trace element iron has become a key factor restricting vegetable yield and quality improvement. To address the low production efficiency of water–fertilizer coupling in agricultural production, we used a combination of experimental research, theoretical analysis, and mathematical modeling to systematically determine the effects of magneto-electric water irrigation with iron application on spinach growth and physiology, its yield and quality, and soil water transport characteristics. Compared with conventional water irrigation, under magneto-electric water irrigation, the water volume and applied iron concentration average increased the total accumulation of nitrogen, carbon, and iron in the aboveground part of spinach by 3.71%, 10.16%, and 14.14%, respectively, and the aboveground part of spinach had the highest total accumulation of nitrogen and carbon when irrigation water was 3300 m3 ha−1 and iron fertilizer application at 0.15%. Additionally, magneto-electric water irrigation increased spinach aboveground fresh weight and soluble sugar and protein content by an average of 13.34, 18.26, and 11.61%, respectively. Based on a comprehensive quantitative evaluation and analysis of aboveground nutrient accumulation in spinach, aboveground fresh weight, water use efficiency, and soluble sugar and protein content, we determined the optimal irrigation water and iron fertilizer application for spinach growth. This paper presents a detailed study including LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating, geochemical, zircon Hf isotope, and whole rock Sr-Nd isotope analysis of magmatic rocks from the Yitong County, Jilin Province, NE China. These data are used to better constrain the Middle Silurian–Middle Devonian tectonic evolution in the eastern segment of the northern margin of the North China Craton (NCC). Zircon U-Pb dating results show that the Ximangzhang tonalite formed in the Late Silurian (425 ± 6 Ma); the basalt, andesite, and metamorphic olivine-bearing basalt in the Fangniugou volcanic rocks formed in the Middle Silurian (428 ± 6.6 Ma) and Middle Devonian (388.4 ± 3.9 Ma, and 384.1 ± 4.9 Ma). The Late Silurian tonalites are characterized by high SiO2 and Na2O and low K2O, MgO, FeOT, and TiO2, with an A/CNK ratio of 0.91–1.00, characteristic of calc-alkaline I-type granite. They are enriched in Rb, Ba, Th, U, and K, and depleted in Nb, Sr, P, and Ti, with positive εNd(t) (+0.35) and εHf(t) (+0.44 to +6.31) values, suggesting that they mainly originated from the partial melting of Meso–Neoproterozoic accretionary lower crustal material (basalt). The Middle Silurian basalts are characterized by low SiO2, P2O5, TiO2, and Na2O and high Al2O3, FeOT, and K2O, enriched in Rb, Ba, Th, U, and K and depleted in Nb, Ta, Sr, P, and Ti, indicative of shoshonitic basalt. The Late Silurian tonalites have positive εNd(t) (+4.91 to +6.18) values and primarily originated from depleted mantle magmas metasomatized by subduction fluids, supplemented by a small amount of subducted sediments and crustal materials. The Middle Devonian volcanic rocks exhibit low SiO2, TiO2, and Na2O and high K2O, and MgO, enriched in Rb, K, and LREEs and depleted in Nb, Ta, Sr, and HREEs, characteristic of shoshonitic volcanic rocks. Their εNd(t) (+2.11 to +3.77) and εHf(t) (+5.90 to +11.73) values are positive. These characteristics indicate that the Middle Devonian volcanic rocks primarily originated from depleted mantle magmas metasomatized by subduction fluids, with the addition of crustal materials or subducted sediments during their formation. Based on regional geological data, it is believed that the study area underwent the following evolutionary stages during the Silurian–Devonian period: (1) active continental margin stage of southward subduction of the Paleo–Asian Ocean (PAO) (443–419 Ma); (2) arc-continent collision stage (419–405 Ma); (3) post-collision extension stage (404–375 Ma); (4) active continental margin stage, with the PAO plate subducting southward once again (375–360 Ma). Due to the direct contact between the probe and sample, the contact of the four-probe method is important for the structural integrity of the sample and the accuracy of electrical resistivity measurements, especially for surface-coated metal foils with multilayered structures. Here, we analyzed the accuracy and stability of four-probe method probing on different sides of copper (Cu) foils covered with graphene (Gr). Theoretical simulations showed similar potential distributions on the probe tip when probing on the Cu and Gr sides. The resistivity of the Gr/Cu foil was 2.31 ± 0.02 μΩ·cm when measured by probing on the Cu side, and 2.30 ± 0.10 μΩ·cm when measured by probing on the Gr side. The major difference in the mean deviation is attributed to surface damage. In addition, the method of probing on the Cu side was sensitive to the resistivity changes of Gr induced by polymers with a dielectric constant range of 2~12, which is consistent with the calculations based on the random phase approximation theory. Our results demonstrated that the probing position on the metal side in the four-probe method can effectively protect the structural integrity of the functional surface-coated layer and maintain the high sensitivity of the measurement, providing guidance for the resistivity measurements of other similarly heterogeneous materials. Simple Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary tumor of the liver with a particularly high incidence in Asia. HCC has a tendency to recur despite curative-intent liver resection, and new reliable prognostic markers would have high clinical relevance. Liquid biopsy markers, gene signatures, and inflammation markers represent valuable tools to predict recurrence and overall survival in patients undergoing hepatectomy for HCC. Nevertheless, while some of the proposed new markers have been widely investigated and demonstrated to be reproducible, others seem less reproducible in clinical practice. In particular, liquid biopsy is a powerful tool for predicting long-term outcomes after resection of HCC; with costs related to its technical implementation representing a major limitation. During the past decade, many new markers have been reported to correlate with prognosis after resection of HCC: liquid biopsy markers, gene signatures, inflammation markers, and other biomarkers, including PIVKA-II, immune checkpoint molecules, and proteins in urinary exosomes. However, not all of these new markers are readily available in clinical practice, and their reproducibility is unclear. Liquid biopsy is a powerful and established tool for predicting long-term outcomes after resection of HCC; the main limitation of liquid biopsy is represented by the cost related to its technical implementation. Numerous patterns of genetic expression capable of predicting survival after curative-intent hepatectomy for HCC have been identified, but published findings regarding these markers are heterogenous. Endodontic infections arise from the interactive activities of microbial communities colonizing in the intricate root canal system. The present study aims to update the latest knowledge of nanomaterials, their antimicrobial mechanisms, and their applications in endodontics. A detailed literature review of the current knowledge of nanomaterials used in endodontic applications was performed using the PubMed database. Antimicrobial nanomaterials with a small size, large specific surface area, and high chemical activity are introduced to act as irrigants, photosensitizer delivery systems, and medicaments, or to modify sealers. The application of nanomaterials in the endodontic field could enhance antimicrobial efficiency, increase dentin tubule penetration, and improve treatment outcomes. The process of development, recurrence, and exacerbation of the inflammatory process depends on the cytokine levels in IBD. For that reason, many cytokine therapies have been developed for treating IBD patients. Researchers employ various techniques and methodologies for cytokine profiling to identify cytokine signatures in inflamed mucosa. These include enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), multiplex immunoassays, flow cytometry, and gene expression analysis techniques (i.e., microarray, RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq), mass cytometry (CyTOF), Luminex). Research knowledge so far can give us some insights into the cytokine milieu associated with mucosal inflammation by quantifying cytokine levels in mucosal tissues or biological fluids such as serum or stool. Aiming to address the vibration noise problems on ships, we constructed a piezoelectric phononic crystal (PC) plate structure model, solved the governing equations of the structure using the partial differential equations module (PDE) in the finite element softwareCOMSOL6.1, and obtained the corresponding energy band structure, transmission curves, and vibration modal diagrams. The application of this method to probe the structural properties of two-dimensional piezoelectric PCs is described in detail. The calculation results obtained using this method were compared with the structures obtained using the traditional plane wave expansion method (PWE) and the finite element method (FE). The results were found to be in perfect agreement, which verified the feasibility of this method. To safely and effectively adjust the bandgap within a reasonable voltage range, this paper explored the order of magnitude of the plate thickness, the influence of the voltage on the bandgap, and the dependence between them. It was found that the smaller the order of magnitude of the plate thickness, the smaller the order of magnitude of the band in which the bandgap was located. The magnitude of the driving voltage that made the bandgap change became smaller accordingly. The new idea of attaching the PC plate to the conventional plate structure to achieve a vibration damping effect is also briefly introduced. Compared to regions with lighter pollution, the areas heavily affected by pollution in China face more severe environmental problems due to rapid economic growth, which creates a greater urgency for government and corporate environmental requirements. This study innovatively applies mediation and threshold models to explore the potential correlation between green technology innovation, types of environmental regulation, and provincial-level green total factor productivity (GTFP). Additionally, it examines inter-regional differences, determines threshold effects, and introduces regional heterogeneity and mediator variables. The research findings demonstrate that progress in green technology innovation significantly impacts the improvement of provincial-level GTFP. Further mechanism analysis reveals the crucial role of environmental regulation in facilitating sustained enhancement of GTFP through green technology innovation. The promotion of GTFP is more pronounced in eastern and central provinces compared to western regions, and the positive influence of green technology innovation varies significantly among provinces. By investigating the regional differences of polluted areas and introducing mediating variables, this paper explores the environmental regulation mechanism, which has important guiding significance for formulating more effective environmental regulation policies, promoting green technology innovation, and improving GTFP. Significant interest is devoted to the development of new polymer blends by using concepts of the circular economy. Such materials have predetermined properties, are easy to recycle, ecological, and have a low carbon footprint. This research presents obtaining and characterization of polymer blends based on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and thermoplastic starch (TPS). In the first stage, TPS was obtained through the gelatinization process, and, in the second stage, mixtures of LDPE and TPS were obtained through a melt mixing process at 150 °C for 7 min. The physical–mechanical characteristics of the samples, like hardness, elongation at break, rebound resilience, and tensile strength, were determined. The sample containing maleic anhydride grafted low-density polyethylene (LDPE-g-MA) as a compatibilizer shows improvements in elongation at break and tensile strength (by 6.59% and 40.47%, respectively) compared to the test sample. The FTIR microscopy maps show that samples containing LDPE-g-MA are more homogeneous. The SEM micrographs indicate that TPS-s is homogeneously dispersed as droplets in the LDPE matrix. From the thermal analysis, it was observed that both the degree of crystallinity and the mass loss at high temperature are influenced by the composition of the samples. Coastal aquaculture has made an important contribution to global food security and the economic development of coastal zones in recent decades. However, it has also damaged these coastal zones' ecosystems. Moreover, coastal aquaculture is poised to play a key role in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Consequently, extracting aquaculture has become crucial and valuable. However, due to the limitations of remote sensing image spatial resolution and traditional extraction methods, most research studies focus on aquaculture areas containing dikes rather than individually separable aquaculture ponds (ISAPs). This is not an accurate estimation of these aquaculture areas' true size. In our study, we propose a rapid and effective object-based method of extracting ISAPs. We chose multi-scale segmentation to generate semantically meaningful image objects for various types of land cover, and then built a decision tree classifier according to the unique features of ISAPs. The results show that our method can remove small rivers and other easily confused features, which has thus far been difficult to accomplish with conventional methods. We obtained an overall precision value of 85.61% with a recall of 84.04%; compared to the support vector machine's (SVM) overall precision value of 78.85% and recall rate of 61.21%, our method demonstrates greater accuracy and efficiency. We used this method to test the transferability of the algorithm to nearby areas, and the obtained accuracy exceeded 80%. The effects of NaCl-induced salinity on biomass allocation, anatomical characteristics of leaves, ion accumulation, salt repellency, and salt secretion ability were investigated in two apple rootstock cultivars (Malus halliana '9-1-6' and Malus baccata), which revealed the physiological adaptive mechanisms of M. halliana '9-1-6' in response to salt stress factors. This experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using a nutrient solution pot. Salt stress was simulated by treating the plants with a 100 mM NaCl solution, while 1/2 Hoagland nutrient solution was used as a control (CK) instead of the NaCl solution. The results showed that the two rootstocks responded to salt environments by increasing the proportion of root biomass allocation. According to the stress susceptibility index, '9-1-6' exhibits a lower salt sensitivity index and a higher salt tolerance index. The thickness of the leaf, upper and lower epidermis, palisade tissue, and mesophyll tissue compactness (CTR) of the two rootstocks were significantly decreased, while the thickness of sponge tissue and mesophyll tissue looseness (SR) were significantly increased, and the range of '9-1-6' was smaller than that of M. baccata. With an extension of stress time, the accumulation of Na+ increased significantly, and the accumulation of K+ decreased gradually. The stem and leaves of '9-1-6' showed a lower accumulation of Na+ and a higher accumulation of K+, and the roots displayed a higher ability to reject Na+, as well as young and old leaves showed a stronger ability to secrete Na+. In conclusion, within a certain salt concentration range, the '9-1-6' root part can maintain lower salt sensitivity and a higher root-to-shoot ratio by increasing the proportion of root biomass allocation; the aerial part responds to salt stress through thicker leaves and a complete double-layer fence structure; the roots and stem bases can effectively reduce the transportation of Na+ to the aerial parts, as well as effectively secrete Na+ from the aerial parts through young and old leaves, thereby maintaining a higher K+/Na+ ratio in the aerial parts, showing a strong salt tolerance. The Sanggan River Basin in the loess hill and gully area is the primary water source for the establishment of the capital water conservation function area and the ecological environment support zone. Against the backdrop of global warming, population growth, and accelerated urbanization, water consumption in the Sanggan River Basin has persistently increased in recent years, leading to a series of issues, such as river pollution, surface streamflow reduction, groundwater over-exploitation, soil erosion, and decreased vegetation coverage. In this research, we employed the DMC approach, SWAT model, InVEST model, and CA-Markov model to quantitatively analyze the correlation between alterations in streamflow and sediment within this area and three influential factors: climate variations, LUCC, and other human interventions. Furthermore, we clarified the relative contributions of climate factor elements, land-use types, and human activities to streamflow and sediment in this region. The findings indicate a decline in the annual streamflow and sediment quantities observed within this region from 1960 to 2020, with reduction rates of 1.27 × 108 m3/10 a and 129.07 × 104 t/10 a, respectively, and an abrupt change year in 1983 and 1982. Compared to the annual streamflow, the annual sediment volume demonstrates more substantial variation. Based on the constructed model, three scenario simulation periods: P0 (1962–1981/1982), P1 (1983/1982–1999), and P2 (2000–2020) were set. Compared with P0, the respective contribution rates of climatic variation, land use, and other human intervention to streamflow (sediment volume) were 15.247% (19.601%), −0.03% (−1.349%), and 84.783% (81.748%) in P1. In P2, the contribution rates of these three factors on streamflow (sediment volume) were 9.160% (9.128%), 0.211% (3.053%), and 90.629% (84.818%), respectively. Through a quantitative analysis of climatic factors on streamflow and sediment, we found a positive correlation between precipitation and both streamflow and sediment. Additionally, there is an inverse relationship between temperature and streamflow, but streamflow will increase when temperature rises by 10%. Under three different future land-use scenarios, the variations in streamflow and sediment exhibited as ecological protection scenario < urban expansion scenario < natural development scenario. Changes in streamflow in this region are primarily caused by human intervention that alters the underlying surface. The increase in check dams and silted land could lead the runoff and sediment to decrease. A multiscale method is presented to develop a constitutive model for anisotropic soils in a three-dimensional (3D) stress state. A fabric tensor and its evolution, which quantify the particle arrangement at the microscale, are adopted to describe the effects of the inherent and induced anisotropy on the mechanical behaviors at the macroscale. Using two steps of stress mapping, the deformation and failure of anisotropic soil under the 3D stress state are equivalent to those of isotropic soil under the triaxial compression stress state. A series of discrete element method (DEM) simulations are conducted to preliminarily verify this equivalence. Based on the above method, the obtained anisotropic yield surface is continuous and smooth. Then, a fabric evolution law is established according to the DEM simulation results. Compared with the rotational hardening law, the fabric evolution law can also make the yield surface rotate during the loading process, and it can grasp the microscopic mechanism of soil deformation. As an example, an anisotropic modified Cam-clay model is developed, and its performance validates the ability of the proposed method to account for the effect of soil anisotropy. Different land parcels possess unique microclimates, soils, and biological conditions, which in turn significantly influence the land parcels themselves, impacting biodiversity, hydrological relationships, land degradation, geological disasters, and other ecological environments. Therefore, researching an efficient and accurate method capable of extracting land parcels with the least internal heterogeneity at the macro, meso, and micro scales is extremely important. Multi-scale segmentation, based on scale and resolution analysis techniques, is a bottom-up merging technology that minimizes internal heterogeneity within regions and maximizes heterogeneity between different units. This approach is extensively applied in multi-scale spectral feature extraction and classification and is further combined with deep learning techniques to enhance the accuracy of image classification. This study, using Xinghai County in Qinghai Province as an example, employs multi-scale segmentation and hydrological analysis methods to extract land parcels at different spatial scales. The results show (1) that the land parcels extracted using the hydrological analysis method are catchment units centered around rivers, including slopes on both sides of the river. In contrast, multi-scale segmentation extracts regions comprising land parcels with similar properties, enabling the segregation of slopes and channels into independent units. (2) At a classification threshold of 19, multi-scale segmentation divides the study area into five different types of land parcels, reflecting the heterogeneity of terrain undulations and their hydrological connections. When the classification threshold is set to 31, the study area is divided into 15 types of land parcels, primarily highlighting micro-topographic features. (3) Multi-scale segmentation can merge and categorize areas with the least heterogeneity in land parcels, facilitating subsequent statistical analysis. Therefore, mesoscale land parcels extracted through multi-scale segmentation are invaluable for analyzing regional Earth surface processes such as soil erosion, sediment distribution and transportation. Monitoring and assessing coastal subsidence is crucial to mitigating potential disaster risks associated with rising sea levels. Nansha District in Guangzhou City, representing global coastal soft-soil urban areas, faces significant challenges related to ground subsidence. However, the current understanding of the status, causative factors, and risk (includes subsidence susceptibility and vulnerability) assessment of ground subsidence in Nansha District is unclear. To address this gap, we utilized the SBAS-InSAR technique, analyzing 49 Sentinel-1A images from December 2015 to June 2019, for systematic ground subsidence monitoring. Subsequently, we assessed subsidence risk using a comprehensive index method and a risk matrix. Our findings indicate that subsidence velocity primarily ranged from −40 to −5 mm/a, with a spatial pattern of increasing subsidence from inland to coastal areas. The cumulative subsidence process unfolded in four distinct stages. The genesis of land subsidence was linked to an endogenous geological context dominated by soft-soil deposition, influenced by external factors such as surface loading and groundwater extraction. High-risk zones were concentrated in key engineering development areas, transportation pipeline trunk lines, and densely populated regions, demanding special attention. Salt stress is a key environmental factor that has adverse effects on plant growth and development. High salinity induces a series of structural and functional changes in the morphological and anatomical features. The physiological and biochemical changes in K. foliatum in response to salt stress in natural environments are still unclear. Based on this, this study compared and analyzed the differences in the physiological and biochemical indicators between the leaf and root tissues in high-salt and low-salt habitats, selecting K. foliatum as the research object. The results showed that the chlorophyll contents in the leaves of K. foliatum decreased in the high-salt habitat, while the thicknesses of the upper and lower epidermises, as well as the thicknesses of the palisade tissue, significantly increased. The high-salt environment led to decreases in the N and P contents in the leaves and root tissues of K. foliatum, resulting in changes in the stoichiometric ratio of elements. The concentrations of C, N, and P in the roots of K. foliatum were lower than those in the leaves. The accumulation of Na+ in the K. foliatum roots was greater than that in the leaves, and the roots could promote the transport of sodium ions to the leaves. The contents of starch and soluble sugar in the leaves showed higher proportions in the high-salt habitat than in the low-salt habitat, while the changes in the roots and leaves were the opposite. As the salt content increased, the proline contents in the leaves and roots of K. foliatum significantly increased, and the proline contents in the roots of K. foliatum were lower than those in the leaves. The leaves and roots exhibited higher levels of peroxidase and superoxide enzymes in the high-salinity habitat than in the low-salinity habitat. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of the K. foliatum leaves and catalase (CAT) activity of the roots were the "central traits" in the high-salt habitat. In the low-salt habitat, the leaf malondialdehyde (MDA) and root C/N were the central traits of the leaves and roots, indicating that K. foliatum adapts to changes in salt environments in different ways. Background: Identification of biomarkers to distinguish between stable and unstable plaque formation would be very useful to predict plaque vulnerability., Methods: We downloaded microarray profiles of gene set enrichment (GSE) accession numbers including GSE71226 and GSE20680 (group A: containing healthy vs stable plaque samples) and GSE62646 and GSE34822 (group B: containing stable vs unstable plaque samples) from Gene expression omnibus (GEO) database. Differentially expressed genes were compared in both data sets of each group., Results: Ten and 12 key genes were screened in groups A and B, respectively. Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment was applied by the plugin "BiNGO" (Biological networks gene ontology tool) of the Cytoscape. The key genes were mostly enriched in the biological process of positive regulation of the cellular process. The protein-protein interaction and co-expression network were analyzed by the STRING (search tool for the retrieval of interacting genes/proteins) and GeneMANIA (gene multiple association network integration algorithm) plugin of Cytoscape, respectively, which showed that Epidermal growth factor (EGF), Heparin-binding EGF like growth factor (HBEGF), and Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) were at the core of the network. Retinal neovascularization diseases have relatively high rates of evitable blindness. Abnormal retinal neovascularization is their main hallmark, which can damage the structure and function of the eye and lead to impaired vision. Caveolin-1 is a membrane protein that is expressed in many types of retinal cells and is involved in retinal neovascularization. This review presents a comprehensive analysis of global research on specific functions of caveolin-1 in retinal neovascularization.
