Palladium‐catalyzed thioesterification of (aza)indole‐tethered aryl iodides, Mo(CO)6, and sulfonyl chlorides is reported. A series of C2 thioester‐group substituted indoline‐fused ring compounds are constructed by an intramolecular Heck cyclization and carbonylation chemistry involving N‐(2‐iodobenzoyl)indole. The salient features of this three‐component cascade sequence include the use of solid Mo(CO)6 as the carbon monoxide source and good functional group tolerance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A procedure utilizing [TBA][P(SiCl3)2] as P source for the synthesis of phosphinecarboxamides is presented. The synthesis involves the reaction of [TBA][P(SiCl3)2] with isocyanates. These compounds act as highly effective reagents for the subsequent phosphination of isocyanates, leading to the formation of phosphine(triscarboxamides). Aromatic 1,2,4-diazaphospholes featuring distinct hybrid-mode nitrogen atoms (N(λ 3 σ 2 ), N(λ 3 σ 3 )) and low-valent phosphorus atoms (λ 3 σ 2 ) exhibited the characteristic of serving as unique hybrid ligands. This study presented a one-pot reaction involving the base-promoted stepwise cyclization of hydrazonoyl chlorides and [Bu 4 N][P(SiCl 3 ) 2 ] to yield 1,2,4-diazaphospholes, providing an effective method for synthesizing such compounds.

Herein, we disclosed a highly chemoselective synthesis of quinoline-2-one and quinoline-2-thione derivatives using EtOS 2 K as the C1 source. Quinoline-2-one derivatives were synthesized selectively with NaCl as a catalyst in the solvent DMSO/H 2 O, while quinoline-2-thione derivatives were produced without the need for any catalyst in an environmentally friendly solvent EtOH/H 2 O. The reaction conditions were mild and had good functional group tolerance.
