This bibliometric research aims to analyse inclusive education research from 1999 to 2018 as illustrative of worldwide trends regarding inclusive education. Five core issues consistently emerge from this analysis, and they are listed in chronological order as follows: Para-educational experiences and peer supports, pre-service and in-service teachers' attitudes, outcomes, and achievements of students with disabilities, teacher education/training, and teachers' efficacy. Their relationship was interdependent and supplementary to one another. From the results, several potential themes have emerged, such as inclusive education in multicultural environments, inclusion in higher education, relevant debates, and policies on inclusive education. From the evolutionary trajectory of inclusive education research, universal education may become a major future trend of research into Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Simple Summary: Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant disorder linked to increased risks of colorectal and endometrial cancers, caused by pathogenic variants in MMR genes (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6). In a cohort of 42,828 participants from the Taiwan Precision Medicine Initiative (TPMI), 89 individuals carried MMR gene variants: 25% MLH1, 53% MSH2, and 22% MSH6, with a prevalence of 1 in 481. Cancer incidence rates were 40.9% for MLH1, 29.8% for MSH2, and 40% for MSH6 carriers. Colonoscopy screening revealed no significant differences in polyp prevalence compared to controls. The study underscores the need for improved LS diagnosis and surveillance in the Taiwanese population. Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by increased risks of colorectal and endometrial cancers. LS is defined by pathogenic variants in mismatch repair (MMR) genes, including MLH1, MSH2, and MSH6. Data on the prevalence and associated cancer risks of LS in the Han Chinese population remain limited. In this study, using a broad biobank approach through the Taiwan Precision Medicine Initiative (TPMI), we identified LS-associated MMR gene variants within a cohort of 42,828 participants from a Taiwanese medical center. A total of 89 individuals were found to carry pathogenic MMR variants: MLH1 (n = 22, 25%), MSH2 (n = 47, 53%), and MSH6 (n = 20, 22%). The overall prevalence of MMR variants was calculated, and cancer incidence rates among carriers were determined. The prevalence of MMR variants in the study population was 1 in 481. The distribution of MLH1, MSH2, and MSH6 variants were 24.7%, 52.8%, and 22.5%, respectively. Cumulative cancer incidence rates of carriers were 40.9% for MLH1 carriers, 29.8% for MSH2, and 40% for MSH6. Among the 19 individuals who underwent colonoscopy screening, the prevalence of polyps was similar to that of the control group (adenoma detection rate: 32% vs 26%, p = 0.585). A meticulous analysis of the detected polyps in seven participants, considering factors such as location, size, morphology, and pathological features, showed no significant differences from controls. A significant cancer risk is associated with LS-related MMR variants in the Taiwanese population. The apparent under diagnosis of LS highlights the urgent need for enhanced surveillance and genetic counseling in this demographic. Context Bone loss and fractures are common and serious complications following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), and identifying risk predictors for fractures in transplant recipients remains challenging. The Taiwan Bone Marrow Donation Center is the largest databank of donors in Asia. However, no population-based studies have yet been conducted in Asia to accurately assess the risk of fractures. Objective The aims of this study were to determine the incidence and risk factors for fractures in HSCT recipients. Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study of patients older than 18 years who received a HSCT from January 1, 2003 to September 30, 2015, using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. Fractures following HSCT were identified using International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification codes. Cox regression analysis was used to identify risk factors for fractures. Results A total of 3327 patients underwent a HSCT, of whom 126 (3.8%) had a fracture after HSCT. The cumulative incidence of fractures was 5.3% at 5 years, and 10.8% at 10 years. Multivariable analysis showed that a fracture in the 3 years prior to transplant (HR = 3.79; 95% CI, 2.39-6.03) was associated with a higher risk of fractures post HSCT. With a daily dose equivalent of more than 0.50-3.75 mg, more than 3.75-15.23 mg, and more than 15.23 mg prednisolone, the risk of fractures increased by 1.70-fold (95% CI, 1.07-2.71), 2.23-fold (95% CI 1.32-3.76), and 2.93-fold (95% CI, 1.43-6.01), respectively. Conclusion Regular screening to monitor bone loss should be initiated early, and counseling about the importance of general preventive measures for bone loss is warranted in HSCT recipients with a prior fracture and mean daily dose of steroids more than 0.50 mg. Due to its unique climate and geography, Taiwan experiences abundant rainfall but still faces significant water scarcity. As a result, rainwater harvesting systems (RWHSs) have been recognized as potential water resources within both water legal and green building policies. However, the effects of climate change—manifested in more frequent extreme rainfall events and uneven rainfall distribution—have heightened the risks of both droughts and floods. This underscores the need to retrofit existing RWHSs to function as stormwater management tools and water supply sources. In Taiwan, the use of simple and cost-effective passive release systems is particularly suitable for such retrofits. Four key considerations are central to designing passive release RWHSs: the type of discharge outlet, the size of the outlet, the location of the outlet, and the system's operational strategy. This study analyzes three commonly used outlet types—namely, the orifice, short stub fitting, and drainage pipe. Their respective discharge flow formulas and design charts have been developed and compared. To determine the appropriate outlet size, design storms with 2-, 5-, and 10-year return periods in the Taipei area were utilized to examine three different representative buildings. Selected combinations of outlet diameters and five different outlet locations were assessed. Additionally, probably hazardous rainfall events between 2014 and 2023 were used to verify the results obtained from the design storm analysis. Based on these analyses, the short stub fitting outlet type with a 15 mm outlet diameter was selected and verified. For determining the suitable discharge outlet location, a three-step process is recommended. First, the average annual water supply reliability for different scenarios and outlet locations in each representative building is calculated. Using this information, the maximum allowable decline in water supply reliability and the corresponding outlet location can be identified for each scenario. Second, break-even points between average annual water supply and regulated stormwater release curves, as well as the corresponding outlet locations, are identified. Finally, incremental analyses of average annual water supply and regulated stormwater release curves are conducted to determine the suitable outlet location for each scenario and representative building. For the representative detached house (DH), scenario 2, which designates 50% of the tank's volume as detention space (i.e., the discharge outlet located halfway up the tank), and scenario 3, which designates 75% (i.e., the discharge outlet at one-quarter of the tank height), are the most suitable options. For the four-story building (FSB), the outlet located at one-quarter of the tank's height is suitable for both scenarios 2 and 3. For the eight-story building (ESB), scenario 2, with the outlet at one-quarter of the tank's height, and scenario 3, with the outlet at the lowest point on the tank's side, are preferred. The framework developed in this study provides drainage designers with a systematic method for determining the key parameters in passive-release RWHS design at the household scale. Introduction: The Baveno criteria for assessing advanced liver fibrosis were mainly determined by transient elastography (TE), and its pathology-based validation studies in two-dimensional shear wave elastography (2D-SWE) remain limited. We aimed to validate the Baveno criteria through use of 2D-SWE. Method: Consecutive patients who underwent liver biopsies for various benign liver diseases were prospectively recruited. Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) was simultaneously evaluated by TE and 2D-SWE. The optimal cutoff value to predict advanced liver fibrosis was determined by the Youden Index, and the diagnostic performance was estimated using area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) analysis. Results: A total of 101 patients were enrolled having a median age of 55.0 (IQR: 46.0–63.5) years, with 53 (52.48%) of them being male. Using <9 and >14 kPa as the optimal dual cutoffs, the AUROC values in TE and 2D-SWE were 0.92 (95% CI: 0.83–0.97) and 0.93 (95% CI: 0.84–0.98), respectively (p = 0.61). The sensitivity and specificity of LSM by TE/2D-SWE achieved rates of 94.44%/94.44% and 86.00%/88.00%, respectively. However, using the Baveno criteria, the AUROC values in TE and 2D-SWE could remain achieving 0.91 (95% CI: 0.82–0.97) and 0.93 (95% CI: 0.84–0.98), respectively (p = 0.36). The sensitivity and specificity in TE/2D-SWE were 88.24%/88.24% and 86.79%/90.57%, respectively. Conclusion: This study establishes the compatibility of the Baveno dual cutoff criteria with 2D-SWE, positioning it as an easily used criteria in clinical practice and research. Due to cross‐linked structures, thermoset polymers cannot provide sufficient free volume for nanofillers to maneuver. Related composites are therefore governed by phase separation where filler‐deficit regions become mechanical weakness. This work discovers that carbon nanotubes can be redispersed in thermoset polymer through heat treatments, thus, enhancing strength, thermal, and electrical conductivity of composites. Experiments carried out on a different thermoset matrix gives a similar trend where heating induced tube displacement is also verified by molecular dynamic simulations and piezo‐resistivity tests. Treating diabetic wounds effectively remains a significant clinical challenge. Emerging studies suggest that microRNAs (miRNAs) play crucial roles in various physiological and pathological processes and hold promise as therapeutic tools. This study investigates the miRNA expression profile in keratinocytes using a cell model of diabetic wounds. Microarray analysis revealed that 43 miRNAs from wounded keratinocytes incubated under diabetic conditions (high glucose/hypoxia) exhibited a two-fold change in expression compared to those incubated under normal conditions (low glucose/normoxia). Quantitative RT-PCR confirmed significant differences in the expression of eight miRNAs, with miR-3138 and miR-3679-5p being further analyzed for their roles in keratinocyte migration. Transfection with a miR-3138 mimic and a miR-3679-5p inhibitor indicated that upregulation of miR-3138 and downregulation of miR-3679-5p enhance keratinocyte migration in both normal and diabetic wounds. Pathway and gene ontology (GO) analyses identified potential pathways and functional annotations associated with miR-3138 and miR-3679-5p in diabetic wound healing. Potential human gene targets of miR-3138 and miR-3679-5p were predicted using a three-way comparison of the TargetScan, miRDB, and DIANA databases. When a plant is infected by a pathogen, endogenous immune responses are initiated. When the initiation of these defense responses is induced by a pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP) of a pathogen, it is called PAMP-triggered immunity (PTI). Previous studies have shown that Bacillus amyloliquefaciens PMB05 can enhance PTI signals and improve disease control of bacterial soft rot and wilt in Arabidopsis thaliana. In the context of controlling bacterial wilt disease, the involvement of a mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway has been established. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether this pathway is also required for B. amyloliquefaciens PMB05 in controlling bacterial soft rot. In this study, A. thaliana ecotype Columbia (Col-0) and its mutants on a MAPK pathway-related pathway were used as a model and established that the ability of B. amyloliquefaciens PMB05 to control soft rot requires the participation of the MAPK pathway. Moreover, the enhancement of disease resistance by PMB05 is highly correlated with the activation of reactive oxygen species generation and stomata closure, rather than callose deposition. The spray inoculation method was used to illustrate that PMB05 can enhance stomatal closure, thereby restricting invasion by the soft rot bacterium. This control mechanism has also been demonstrated to require the activation of the MAPK pathway. This study demonstrates that B. amyloliquefaciens PMB05 can accelerate stomata closure via the activation of the MAPK pathway during PTI, thereby reducing pathogen invasion and achieving disease resistance against bacterial soft rot. Background: Studies have found that in healthy individuals without nasal disease, changes in posture cause an increase in nasal resistance, especially in the prone posture. Many patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) sleep in a prone posture, but no studies have examined the effect of this change in posture on nasal resistance in patients with OSAS. Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate this posture-related physical phenomenon in individuals with OSAS. Methods: We evaluated the nasal patency of 29 patients diagnosed with OSAS using the visual analog scale (VAS), acoustic rhinometry, and video-endoscopy in the sitting, supine, and prone postures. Results: In the OSAS group, both supine and prone postures significantly influenced subjective nasal blockage and led to a notable reduction in the minimal cross-sectional area (mCSA) as determined by acoustic rhinometry, compared to the sitting posture. The prone posture exhibited a more pronounced effect than the supine posture. Endoscopic evaluations further revealed increased hypertrophy of the inferior turbinate in the supine posture for the right nasal passage and the prone posture for the left. However, no significant differences were observed between the prone and supine postures. Conclusion: In OSAS patients, nasal resistance significantly increased in supine and prone postures compared to sitting, with the prone posture showing a greater effect. Clinicians should consider a patient's habitual sleep posture and the effects of postural changes when assessing OSAS severity and devising treatment plans. Level of Evidence: 4. The critical role of the human gut microbiota in kidney stone formation remains largely unknown, due to the low taxonomic resolution of previous sequencing technologies. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the gut microbiota using high-throughput sequencing to provide valuable insights and identify potential bacterial species and metabolite roles involved in kidney stone formation. The overall gut bacterial community and its potential functions in healthy participants and patients were examined using PacBio sequencing targeting the full-length 16S rRNA gene, coupled with stone and statistical analyses. Most kidney stones comprised calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate (75%), pure calcium oxalate (20%), and calcium phosphate and magnesium phosphate (5%), with higher content of Ca (130,510.5 ± 108,362.7 ppm) followed by P (18,746.4 ± 23,341.2 ppm). The microbial community structure was found to be weaker in patients' kidney stone samples, followed by patients' stool samples, than in healthy participants' stool samples. The most abundant bacterial species in kidney stone samples was uncultured Morganella, whereas that in patient and healthy participant stool samples was Bacteroides vulgatus. Similarly, Akkermansia muciniphila was significantly enriched in patient stool samples at the species level, whereas Bacteroides plebeius was significantly enriched in kidney stone samples than that in healthy participant stool samples. Three microbial metabolic pathways, TCA cycle, fatty acid oxidation, and urea cycle, were significantly enriched in kidney stone patients compared to healthy participants. Due to the rapid advancement of technology, environmental sustainability education has gained significant attention. This study aimed to explore the effect of the metaverse on green building concept learning, creative design performance, and learning engagement. This research was conducted with 61 students from a public high school, employing a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent groups. The experimental teaching theme was green building education, where the experimental group used online metaverse with Minecraft-assisted teaching, while the comparison group used internet images for assistance. Our research results were as follows: 1. The metaverse had a large effect size on the example dimension of concept learning but no significant effect on the linkages, hierarchical structures, or cross-linking terms. 2. The metaverse significantly enhanced creative design performance, including value, usability, novelty, and elaboration. 3. Due to oxygenation, carbon nanotubes cannot operate field emission for a long period of time. So far, the emission-induced oxygenation mechanism has not been studied in detail; particularly, the underlying mechanism that causes a drastic increase of the emitting current contiguous to the turn-on voltage remains unclear. Cold plasma is a nonthermal equilibrium process and can also oxygenate carbon materials through radiolysis. In this work, electrical measurements of single-walled carbon nanotubes are in situ carried out in O2 and N2 plasma irradiation, and the tube resistance due to irradiative damages is found to increase in three steps, defined as regions I, II, and III. In region I, the increase is rapid and involves extraction of intercalated O2 between the nanotubes. The nanotubes become severely oxygenated in region II, thus enhancing the on-tube scattering and resistance. Nanotube segmentation takes place in region III, where the opened edges are likely bonded with oxygenated and nitride groups. Experimental data successfully explain the field emission instability of carbon nanotubes, including a low life cycle, sudden increase in emitting current around the turn-on voltage, and thermal decomposition of carbon lattices. This study reviews 105 articles concerning English-as-a-medium-of-instruction (EMI) taken from the Web of Science database (2005–2021). The growth trajectory, the productivity, co-citation analysis, and bibliographic coupling were performed to present the procedural change, the 'hotspot' themes, influential publications, authors, countries, sources, and knowledge domains. The trajectory development of EMI increased steadily from 2018 onwards. The most influential authors are identified as Piller, Cho, Kuteeva, Mattoo, Neagu, and Özden. The most influential journals are Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, Comparative Education, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, Current Issues in Language Planning, Higher Education, System, and RELC Journal. Effectively, the most influential countries are Australia, the People's Republic of China, Sweden, the UK, the USA, the UAE, Spain, Singapore, Denmark, Japan, and South Africa. The research fronts cover numerous key topics on EMI policy for achieving internationalisation, practices of EMI programmes, trans-languaging/bi-lingual/multi-lingual education in EMI, the effectiveness of EMI in higher education, and the challenges of EMI implementation, such as 'nativeness' and national identity. Hotspot themes emerge and the potential trends are trans-languaging, teacher development, and trans-national higher education.
