Introduction: Suffering from chronic pain (CP) and coping with parenthood can be challenging for parental mental health. Pain can hinder the ability to deal with demands related to parenthood, which can negatively affect their psychological well-being because of unmet caregiving expectations. Methods: Considering the limited amount of research regarding the mental health of parents with CP, the study's main aim was to test a predictive model based on previous scientific literature, using structural equation analysis, in which parental competence and parental guilt partially mediate the relationship between parental stress and depression. To examine the moderating role of CP, the model was tested on a group of parents with CP and a control group of parents without CP. The study included 380 parents from all over Spain, of which 200 formed the group with CP and 180 participants formed the control group. A cross-sectional design was used to collect data through self-report measures. Results: Higher levels of stress, guilt, and depression were observed in parents with CP. Based on the results, both groups of parents showed a good fit with the predictive model; parental stress was a good predictor of symptoms of depression both in parents with and without CP, parental competence mediated the relationship between parental stress and depression, being the relationship between competence and depression partially mediated by parental guilt. Discussion: This study is the first to quantitatively examine parental competence and guilt in parents with CP, and to analyze their role as mediators between parental stress and depression in both CP and healthy parents. The results confirm previous qualitative findings and extend them to parents with CP, showing that the tested model aligns with the main theories on stress, self-efficacy, and depression, as well as existing literature on CP. These results suggest the relevance of addressing parental stress levels for reducing and preventing depressive symptoms in parents with CP and the importance of working on guilt reduction and enhancing competence in order to improve the emotional well-being of parents. Introduction: Undiagnosed chronic disease has serious health consequences, and variation in rates of underdiagnosis between populations can contribute to health inequalities. We aimed to estimate the level of undiagnosed disease of 11 common conditions and its variation across sociodemographic characteristics and regions in England. Methods: We used linked primary care, hospital and mortality data on approximately 1.3 million patients registered at a GP practice for more than one year from 01/04/2008–31/03/2020 from Clinical Practice Research Datalink. We created a dynamic state model with six states based on the diagnosis and mortality of 11 conditions: coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, type 2 diabetes, dementia, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and depression/anxiety. Undiagnosed disease was conceptualised as those who died with a condition but were not previously diagnosed. This was combined with observed data on the incidence of diagnosis, the case fatality rate in the diagnosed, and an assumption about how that rate varies with diagnosis to estimate the number of undiagnosed disease cases over the total number of disease cases (underdiagnosis) in each population group. We estimated underdiagnosis by year, sex, 10-year age group, relative deprivation, and administrative region. We then applied small-area estimation techniques to derive underdiagnosis estimates for health planning areas (CCGs). Results: Levels of underdiagnosis varied between 16% for stroke and 69% for prostate cancer in 2018. For all diseases, the level of underdiagnosis declined over time. Underdiagnosis was not consistently concentrated in areas with high deprivation. For depression/anxiety and stroke, underdiagnosis was estimated to be higher in less deprived CCGs, whilst for CHD and T2DM, it was estimated to be higher in more deprived CCGs, with no apparent relationships for other conditions. We found no uniform spatial patterns of underdiagnosis across all diseases, and the relationship between age, deprivation and the probability of being undiagnosed varied greatly between diseases. Discussion: Our findings suggest that underdiagnosis is not consistently concentrated in areas with high deprivation, nor is there a uniform spatial underdiagnosis pattern across diseases. This novel method for estimating the burden of underdiagnosis within England depends on the quality of routinely collected data, but it suggests that more research is needed to understand the key drivers of underdiagnosis. Introduction: In stressful times, people often listen to "coping songs" that help them reach emotional well-being goals. This paper is a first attempt to map the connection between an individual's well-being goals and their chosen coping song. Methods: We assembled a large-scale dataset of 2,804 coping songs chosen by individuals from 11 countries during COVID-19 lockdown. Individuals reported their well-being goals and also named their coping song. We applied an unsupervised topic-modeling approach to identify 15 self-emerging topics from the song lyrics, and connected them to well-being goals. Results: We found significant association between certain lyrics' topics and specific well-being goals. This association weakened for participants for which music is highly important. No significant patterns were found for the songs' acoustic features. Discussion: This paper posits that song lyrics, despite their brevity and presumed simplicity, can be meaningful for self-regulation of emotional states, and should receive more attention by researchers and streaming services alike. Purpose: Despite the growing interest in the field, the literature overlooks how supply chains influence or interact with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To fill this gap, this study aims to assess the influences of Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) on the implementation of the UN SDGs. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic literature review of 97 publications was carried out by using the Web of Science database and the support of ATLAS.ti software. In addition, this research also explored how the top 20 Forbes companies are aligned with the SDGs by analysing their sustainability reports. Findings: The findings suggest that the literature and the analysed companies primarily concentrate on certain SDGs while neglecting others, revealing potential areas of interest for future research. Based on the findings, the study provides valuable insights into the connections between SSCM and the UN SDGs, highlighting the potential benefits of SSCM in reducing environmental, social and economic pressures and contributing to sustainable development. It also identifies areas where further research and policy development are needed to maximise the potential benefits of SSCM. Originality/value: To the best of the authors' knowledge, no other studies have conducted a comprehensive exploration of the literature linking SSCM and the SDGs framework. Moreover, the study differs from others since it combines research data with practical information from company reports, to identify specific issues related to supply chain management. Purpose: Evidence suggests bovine dairy products may have neutral or beneficial effects on cardiometabolic health, despite being a source of saturated fat. The dairy matrix, the structure and combination of protein, fat, and other nutrients, and how they interact with each other, is purported to be responsible for these beneficial health effects. Whether this relationship extends to endothelial function, as assessed by flow mediated dilation (FMD), remains to be elucidated., Methods: Three electronic databases (PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Central) were searched from inception until 5th September 2024. This review included randomised controlled trials (RCT) investigating any bovine dairy intervention which considered endothelial function using FMD in humans with a non-dairy or alternative dairy control., Results: Of 4,220 records identified, 18 reports from 11 RCT including 508 (53.3% male) participants, examined endothelial function by FMD and were eligible for evidence synthesis. Eight papers reported an improvement, nine reported no effect and one reported a decrease in FMD. The greatest effects were found in those with impaired health at baseline, with whey protein and high dairy intakes observed to be most beneficial., Conclusion: Bovine dairy intake has neutral or beneficial effects on cardiometabolic health. This review demonstrates that this relationship extends to endothelial function as assessed by FMD. The lymphatic system, which regulates inflammation and fluid homeostasis, is damaged in various diseases including myocardial infarction (MI) and breast-cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL). Mounting evidence suggests that restoring tissue fluid drainage and clearing excess immune cells by regenerating damaged lymphatic vessels can aid in cardiac repair and lymphedema amelioration. Current treatments primarily address symptoms rather than underlying causes due to a lack of regenerative therapies, highlighting the importance of the lymphatic system as a promising novel therapeutic target. Here cutting-edge research on engineered lymphatic tissues, growth factor therapies, and cell-based approaches designed to enhance lymphangiogenesis and restore lymphatic function is explored. Special focus is placed on how therapies with potential for immediate lymphatic reconstruction, originally designed for treating BCRL, can be applied to MI to augment cardiac repair and reduce heart failure risk. The integration of these novel treatments can significantly improve patient outcomes by promoting lymphatic repair, preventing pathological remodeling, and offering new avenues for managing lymphatic-associated diseases., (© 2025 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

Bipolar disorder (BD) frequently coexists with anxiety disorders, creating complex challenges in clinical therapy and management. This study investigates the prevalence, prognostic implications, and treatment strategies for comorbid BD and anxiety disorders. High comorbidity rates, particularly with generalized anxiety disorder, underscore the necessity of thorough clinical assessments to guide effective management. Our findings suggest that anxiety disorders may serve as precursors to BD, especially in high-risk populations, making early detection of anxiety symptoms crucial for timely intervention and prevention. We also found that comorbid anxiety can negatively affect the course of BD, increasing clinical severity, reducing treatment responsiveness, and worsening prognosis. These complexities highlight the need for caution in using antidepressants, which may destabilize mood. Alternatively, cognitive-behavioral therapy presents a promising, targeted approach for managing BD with comorbid anxiety. In summary, this study provides essential insights for clinicians and researchers, enhancing understanding of BD and anxiety comorbidity and guiding more precise diagnostics and tailored interventions to improve overall patient care., Competing Interests: Declarations. This pilot study evaluated the outcomes associated with a training workshop in cognitive-behavioural therapy with exposure and response prevention (ERP) for youth with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) aimed at improving clinicians' capabilities and motivations. Questionnaires and role-plays were completed by 17 Australian clinicians working across community youth (i.e., child and adolescent) mental health services. Knowledge, beliefs, and confidence in using ERP, and adherence delivering it improved at post-training. At 6-month follow-up improvements in beliefs were not maintained, while competence delivering ERP improved. At pre-training, participants utilised ERP significantly less than they intended to. At follow-up, the proportion of time clinicians intended to dedicate to and self-reported time spent implementing ERP was unchanged relative to pre-training, and the intention-behaviour gap remained. Overall, training was associated with improvements in implementation capabilities, but the association with improvements in motivations and behaviour was less clear. Highly spatiotemporal-resolved photomodulation demonstrates promise for investigating key biological events in vivo and in vitro, such as cell signaling pathways, neuromodulation, and tumor treatment without side effects. However, enhancing the performance of photomodulation tools remains challenging due to the limitations of the physicochemical properties of the photoactive molecules. Here, a compact, stable intramolecular π-π stacking conformation forming between the target molecule (naproxen) and the perylene-based photoremovable protecting group is discovered to confine the motion of the photolabile bond and then enhance the photocleavage quantum yield. In conjunction with a red-absorbing photosensitizer, the photocleavage wavelength is extended to the red region via triplet-triplet annihilation. In particular, the triplet lifetime of the prodrug can be extended via the linked steric hindrance to improve the conversion yield via TTA. Using the new photomodulation tool, it is precisely photoreleased cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors for tumor vascular growth suppression in vivo. In combination with cisplatin, over 90% efficient inhibition of malignant breast tumors is observed via the synergistic tumor treatment strategy. Adrenal insufficiency (AI) is a disorder in which inadequate glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid hormone production leads to a variety of symptoms, including fatigue, weight loss, and nausea. In some patients with unknown AI, adrenal crisis-induced cardiogenic shock (ACCS) can be the first presentation, resulting in a fatal situation. The ACCS may exhibit unresponsiveness to inotropes and fluid therapy; thus, glucocorticoid administration is the primary vital intervention, making early detection of AI essential. Hence, in this study, we review the case reports demonstrating acute cardiomyopathies in the context of AI. The review addresses the suggested underlying mechanisms, including the diminished protective effects of glucocorticoids against catecholamines in AI. We also highlighted some clues to aid physicians in considering AI as a differential diagnosis in critically ill patients presenting cardiogenic shock., Competing Interests: Declarations.
