Gelation of sulfolane-based highly concentrated electrolytes using a partially fluorinated polymer enhances the Li-ion transference number of the electrolytes because acidic protons surrounded by fluorine atoms in the polymer network trap anions, and the high Li+ transference number is effective in suppressing the concentration polarization in Li batteries. Nafion is a sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene based fluoropolymer that has been widely used as a membrane material for various applications, such as fuel cells, batteries, and sensors. Nafion has some unique properties that make it suitable for biosensing, such as high ionic conductivity, biocompatibility, chemical stability, and perm selectivity. Nafion can also act as an immobilization matrix for enzymes, antibodies, DNA molecules, and other biomolecules, enhancing their stability and activity on the electrode surface. In this review, we summarize the recent advances and applications of nafion based biosensors for the detection of various analytes, such as glucose, lactate, hydrogen peroxide, DNA, urea, and dopamin. We also discuss the incorporation of nanoparticles into nafion based biosensors, as they can form synergistic interactions that can improve the biocompatibility, stability, selectivity, and sensitivity of the biosensor. We highlight the different transduction methods employed by nafion based biosensors, such as electrochemical, electro chemiluminescence, or electrical impedance. Achieving fast Li+ transport kinetics and stable electrode/electrolyte interfaces is of paramount importance, yet extremely challenging for the practical success of solid‐state lithium metal batteries, which requires the rational design of the structure and composition of solid‐state electrolytes. Herein, a composite quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte is fabricated through in situ polymerization of a molecule‐designed polymer chain within the functionalized molecular sieve framework (Al‐MCM41). In this design, the robust Brønsted/Lewis acid–base interactions between Al‐MCM41 and TFSI− facilitate the dissociation of lithium salt, leading to a Li+ transference number as high as 0.81. Meanwhile, the well‐ordered mesopores of Al‐MCM41 act as the “reservoir” of the polymer chain, creating continuous ionic migration pathways to offer an excellent Li+ conductivity of 1.09 × 10−3 S cm−1 at 30 °C. Furthermore, the polymer with fluorinated and nitrided functional groups guarantees a dual‐reinforced anode and cathode interface. Such an integrated electrolyte with simultaneous unimpeded Li+ transport and robust interfaces delivers extraordinary capacity retention of 84.6% over 600 cycles at 5 C when coupled with LiFePO4 cathode and remarkable reversible capacity of 129.0 mAh g−1 after 200 cycles with high‐voltage NCM622 cathode. Promoting safer and more cost‐effective lithium‐ion battery manufacturing practices, while also advancing recycling initiatives, is intrinsically tied to reducing reliance on fluorinated polymers like polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) as binders and minimizing the use of hazardous and expensive solvents such as N‐methyl pyrrolidone (NMP). In pursuit of this objective, olefin‐ and rubber‐based polymers have been investigated as promising alternatives for binder materials in high‐energy Ni‐rich LiNixCoyMnzO2 (NCM, x≥0.8) cathodes for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Alternative binders such as polyisobutylene (PIB), poly(styrene‐butadiene‐styrene) (SBS), nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), and its hydrogenated version (HNBR) offer versatile solutions. These polymers can be dissolved in industrial solvents, such as toluene, and have been further processed into homogeneous cathode slurries, thus facilitating the manufacturing of high‐energy Ni‐rich NCM cathodes for lithium‐ion batteries. The evaluation of NCM811 cathodes obtained from PIB, SBS, NBR, and HNBR has involved a thorough assessment of their physical and chemical properties, electrochemical performance, and production expenses, compared with NCM811 cathodes based on PVDF. Notably, cathodes employing PIB and HNBR have exhibited outstanding qualities, showcasing high specific capacity and remarkable electrochemical stability akin to PVDF‐based counterparts. Furthermore, the alternative binders′ superior adhesion, elasticity, and thermal stability have facilitated obtaining uniform and mechanically stable cathode films. Furthermore, using toluene, with its low vapor pressure, has significantly reduced energy costs associated with drying processes, thereby enhancing the overall cost‐effectiveness of the NCM811 cathodes. This study focuses on formulating a low-surface-energy, water-resistant, and anti-condensation coating utilizing a fluorocarbon and acrylic resins composite (FAC), enhanced by six functional additives: antistatic agents, water-repellent agents, nanofillers, anti-mold and anti-algae agent, leveling agents, and wetting and dispersing agents. An orthogonal experimental design was implemented to systematically investigate the effects of varying concentrations of these additives on the surface tension of the coating. The results show that the optimized combination of fluorocarbon and acrylic resins composite (OFAC)with functional additives significantly reduces the surface tension, thereby improving both water resistance and anti-condensation properties. This research advances the development of more efficient surface treatment technologies, particularly for applications requiring enhanced water resistance and anti-condensation performance. Fluorosilicone rubber is essential for sealing in extreme temperatures and non‐polar environments due to its exceptional adaptability. However, achieving a high yield of fluorosilicone polymers with medium and high fluorine content remains a challenge. Herein, a facile gradient strategy is developed that involves modifying the method of cyclic monomer addition based on the rate of ring‐opening polymerization (ROP), to improve yield and adjust fluorine content precisely. The polymerization process is designed and tailored based on the reaction rates of anionic ring‐opening polymerization (AROP) and cationic ring‐opening polymerization (CROP) via an efficient gradient strategy. The effects of the polymerization process on the viscosity and yield of vinyl fluorosilicone polymers and hydrofluorosilicone polymers are investigated and optimized. Notably, the as‐prepared vinyl‐terminated fluoromethylsilane with 60% fluorine content (FMS‐Vi‐60F) has a high yield (86.6%) and high viscosity (150 000 mPa·s) in a short reaction time, which is superior to previous methods. Clearly, the gradient ring‐opening method developed in this work provides a facile and efficient synthesis for fabricating fluorosilicone polymers with a high yield and tunable fluorine content. Addressing the environmental impact of SF6, we synthesized a fluorine-functionalized triphenylamine-based nanoporous organic polymer, ANOP-8, at room temperature using N,N,N′,N′-tetraphenylbenzidine and 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzaldehyde. ANOP-8, which incorporates 14.86% fluorine, has a BET surface area of 694 m2 g−1 and a robust C–C structure. It achieves SF6/N2 selectivities of 65 and 51 at 298 K and 1 bar through ideal adsorbed and breakthrough experiments, respectively. Molecular simulations have revealed the adsorption mechanisms, underscoring the potential of fluorinated polymers in developing future adsorbents for toxic gases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The combination of fluoropolymer and nano‐thermite has been a research focus in the field of materials in the field of energy and storage in recent years, but it faces the problem of uneven mixing of fluoropolymer and nano‐aluminum powder (nAl). Therefore, it is of great significance to obtain a fluorine/aluminum uniform composite by a solid/solid phase mixing method. In this paper, Pickering emulsions effectively blend difficult‐to‐mix powders of nAl and solid bulk fluoroelastomers on the micro‐ and nanoscale. The emulsion was prepared by Pickering emulsion with an ethyl acetate solution of fluororubber as the oil phase and perfluorocarboxylic acid‐modified nano‐aluminum powder as a surfactant. The effects of oil/water ratio, fluororubber/aluminum ratio, and standing time on the stability of the emulsion were studied. The nano‐aluminum powder/fluororubber composite microspheres were prepared and their morphology, thermal decomposition, and combustion properties were characterized. The results showed that the emulsion prepared with the oil/water ratio of 1:8 and m(fluororubber):m(modified nano‐aluminum powder) of 5:1 had good stability and dispersion. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results showed that the complex was observed to be regular spherical and the size was about 10 µm, and the composite microspheres prepared by the Pickering emulsion had good. The TG‐DSC results showed that the decomposition of the composite microspheres started at about 450 °C and finished at 519 °C. The composite microspheres prepared in this paper are stable and rapid in exotherm, with a combustion rate of 33 cm s−1 and excellent combustion performance. The Pickering emulsion introduces a new idea for the preparation of thermite by mixing the solid reactants at the micro‐nano level without introducing substances that reduce the energy of the system. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) is among the most produced fluoropolymers, second only to polytetrafluoroethylene. Despite its popularity, the complex microstructural properties achieved during the polymerization are not well documented in the literature. In particular, available models only track the chain length distribution of the polymer, while neglecting the distribution of other important properties, affecting the final behavior of the product. In this work, a 2D kinetic model, evaluating not only the chain length but also the number of terminal double bonds (TDBs) per chain, is developed. The numerical solution of the model is achieved by fractionating the population of polymer chains into classes with a specific number of TDBs and using the method of moments for each class. The model results are compared with experimental evidences for the amount of produced polymer, moles of main chain‐ends, number, and weight average molecular weight as well as full molecular weight distribution. Based on this comparison, kinetic parameters are estimated by optimization using genetic algorithm. Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) and fluorinated polymers (FPs) have been extensively utilized in various industries, whereas their extremely high stability poses environmental persistence and difficulty in waste treatment. Current decomposition approaches of PFASs and FPs typically require harsh conditions such as heating over 400 °C. Thus, there is a pressing need to develop a new technique capable of decomposing them under mild conditions. Here, we demonstrated that perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS), known as a "persistent chemical," and Nafion, a widely utilized sulfonated FP for ion‐exchange membranes, can be efficiently decomposed into fluorine ions under ambient conditions via the irradiation of visible LED light onto semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs). PFOS was completely defluorinated within 8‐h irradiation of 405‐nm LED light, and the turnover number of the C−F bond dissociation per NC was 17200. Furthermore, 81 % defluorination of Nafion was achieved for 24‐h light irradiation, demonstrating the efficient photocatalytic properties under visible light. We revealed that this decomposition is driven by cooperative mechanisms involving light‐induced ligand displacements and Auger‐induced electron injections via hydrated electrons and higher excited states. This study not only demonstrates the feasibility of efficiently breaking down various PFASs and FPs under mild conditions but also paves the way for advancing toward a sustainable fluorine‐recycling society. Surface reconstruction has always been a pain point in the study of short-chain perfluoroalkyl acrylate polymers, and how to maintain the balance between environmental protection and good performance is the key issue. We exploited the high efficiency and selectivity of the reaction between the isophorone di-isocyanate group and the hydroxyl group, and the rigid cyclohexane structure contained in their molecule to efficiently prepare a series of novel fluoro acrylate monomers (IFAM) containing rigid cyclohexane as mesogenic core and their homopolymers (PIFAM) with different lengths of short-chain perfluoroalkyl side chains. Their structures, liquid crystal behavior, thermal properties, surface chemical compositions, surface morphologies, and hydrophobicity were characterized and comparatively studied by FTIR, NMR, XRD, POM, DSC, TGA, XPS, AFM, and static/dynamic contact angle tester and dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate (DFMA) and its homopolymer as a contrast. The results demonstrated that both the synthesized monomers and homopolymers possessed the expected chemical structures with thermotropic liquid crystalline behavior. Furthermore, the thermal stability and hydrophobicity of the polymers increased with the extension of the fluorocarbon chain length. The incorporation of the mesocrystalline motif and appropriate length of fluoroalkyl tails in the PIFAM polymers would enhance hydrophobic stability, as it promoted the crystallinity of the side chains and limited the structural rearrangement of the fluorocarbon chains. This study offers a straightforward method for synthesizing fluoro acrylate polymers with stable surface properties, highlighting their potential application in hydrophobic coatings. High‐throughput synthesis and screening of chemical libraries play pivotal roles in drug discovery. Click chemistry has emerged as a powerful strategy for constructing highly modular chemical libraries. However, the development of new click reactions and unlocking new clickable building blocks remain exceedingly challenging. Herein, we describe a double‐click strategy that enables the sequential ligations of widely available carboxylic acids and amines with fluorosulfuryl isocyanate (FSO2NCO) via a modular amidation/SuFEx (sulfur‐fluoride exchange) process. This method provides facile access to chemical libraries of N‐fluorosulfonyl amides (RCONHSO2F) and N‐acylsulfamides (RCONHSO2NR′R′′) in near‐quantitative yields under simple and practical conditions. The robustness and efficiency of this double click strategy is showcased by the facile construction of chemical libraries in 96‐well microtiter plates from a large number of carboxylic acids and amines. Preliminary biological activity screening reveals that some compounds exhibit high antimicrobial activities against Gram‐positive bacterium S. aureus and drug‐resistant MRSA (MIC up to 6.25 μg ⋅ mL−1). Solid polymer electrolyte membranes are considered as the nub of many electrochemical devices. Given the climate crisis and related concerns, the evolution of new membrane materials to support the sustainable systems is inevitable. Building on recent advances with the radiation technique and polymer chemistry, herein, anion exchange membranes (AEMs), ETFE‐g‐1VIm/4VP, were fabricated through graft copolymerization of vinyl heterocyclic monomer binary mixture, such as 1‐vinylimidazole (1‐VIm) and 4‐vinylpyridine (4‐VP) onto ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), a main polymer backbone without aryl ether bonds. The grafting reaction was achieved at 60°C and then followed by quaternization as a subsequent step. The effects of various reaction grafting conditions were investigated. The ETFE‐g‐1VIm/4VP AEM were characterized w.r.t the morphological and structural features. The dense surface of the grafted membranes is proved by field emission‐scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM) images, which also show that the vinyl entities are clearly distributed in the prepolymer, which may lead to a continuous ion transport channel. AEMs processed from the highest graft yield showed good hydroxide conductivity at 90°C, reaching 16.9 mS/cm due to the presence of more transport sites. The same membrane has a relatively good alkaline stability, which is studied through weight percentage method and FT‐IR. Hence, we assume that the introduction of multi‐cationic moieties, pyridinium and imidazolium, contributes to the performance of anion exchange membranes and makes a perfect balance, especially the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity. These data highlight the potential of the copolymer as an anion exchange membrane for wide spectra of electrochemical applications. Fluoropolymers and metal halide perovskites (MHPs), as two classes of important piezoelectric materials, suffer from active phases through a facile process and brittleness led poor manufacturability, respectively. Here, TMCM‐CdCl3/PVDF nanocomposites (TMCM = trimethylchloromethyl ammonium, PVDF = polyvinylidene fluoride) are synthesized to overcome the above shortcomings. The abundant hydrogen (H) and chlorine (Cl) sites in TMCM‐CdCl3 can interlock with H and fluorine (F) atoms within PVDF via C─H···Cl and C─H···F interactions. This programming effect augments the dipole alignment and consequently promotes the formation of polar phases within PVDF. The devices made by these nanocomposites exhibit high energy harvesting properties surpassing established MHP/PVDF analogues, and prominent performance in sensing delicate human motions. Moreover, the devices show exceptional capabilities for detecting underwater ultrasound waves. The signal intensity is ≈4 times that of commercial PVDF film devices, and the frequency distortion is only a quarter of that observed in commercial ceramic transducers. In this study, inorganic-organic coatings composed of titanium dioxide (TiO 2) as the ceramic component and poly(vinylidene fluoride- co -hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) as the polymer matrix, hybridized with nano-TiO 2 particles, were developed for protecting mild steel (MS) from corrosion. Prior to TiO 2 coating deposition, the MS substrates were pretreated with a bioinspired sub-layer of polydopamine to improve the surface coating adhesion, followed by uniform co-deposition of PVDF-HFP with varying concentrations of embedded nano-TiO 2. The inclusion of nano-TiO 2 further reinforces and densifies PVDF-HFP, providing added corrosion protection. The fabricated coatings were characterized by microscopy, spectroscopy, and diffraction technique, while the corrosion protection properties were evaluated by impedance, potentiodynamic polarization, salt spray, and cyclic corrosion tests. Results showed that both the PVDF-HFP matrix and TiO 2 contents had substantial effects on the coatings' thermal stability, hydrophobicity, and surface mechanical properties. The coatings also exhibited satisfactory corrosion resistance, with increased impedance modulus to roughly sixteen orders of magnitude for the TiO 2 -PVDF-HFP coating containing 0.5 g/L TiO 2 , relative to the untreated MS substrate. This result can be attributed to the low surface energy of PVDF-HFP, coupled with the dense structure and added physical barrier of nano-TiO 2. Overall, these hybrid polymer/ceramic coatings are poised to help design other highly resilient and hydrophobic surface coatings with durable protection against corrosion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) exhibits outstanding properties such as high‐temperature stability, low surface tension, and chemical resistance against most solvents, strong acids, and bases. However, these traits make it challenging to subject PTFE to standard polymer processing procedures, such as thermoforming and hot incremental forming. While polymer processing at temperatures above the melting point of PTFE is already demanding, the typically large molar mass of PTFE results in extremely high melt viscosities, complicating the processing of PTFE. Also, PTFE tends to decompose at temperatures close to its melting point. Therefore, fluoropolymers obtained by copolymerizing tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) with various co‐monomers are studied as alternatives to PTFE (e.g., fluorinated ethylene‐propylene (FEP)), combining its advantages with better processability. TFE terpolymers have emerged as desirable PTFE alternatives. This review provides an overview of the synthesis with various comonomers and microstructural analysis of PTFE terpolymers and the relationships between the microstructures of TFE terpolymers and their properties. Controlled radical copolymerizations present attractive avenues to obtain polymers with complicated compositions and sequences. In this work, we report the development of a visible‐light‐driven organocatalyzed controlled copolymerization of fluoroalkenes and acyclic N‐vinylamides for the first time. The approach enables the on‐demand synthesis of a broad scope of amide‐functionalized main‐chain fluoropolymers via novel fluorinated thiocarbamates, facilitating regulations over chemical compositions and alternating fractions by rationally selecting comonomer pairs and ratios. This method allows temporally controlled chain‐growth by external light, and maintains high chain‐end fidelity that promotes facile preparation of block sequences. Notably, the obtained F/N hybrid polymers, upon hydrolysis, afford free amino‐substituted fluoropolymers versatile for post modifications toward various functionalities (e.g. amide, sulfonamide, carbamide, thiocarbamide). We further demonstrate the in situ formation of polymer networks with desirable properties as protective layers on lithium metal anodes, presenting a promising avenue for advancing lithium metal batteries. Controlling the structure and chemistry of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) underpins the stability of electrolyte‐electrode interface, and is crucial for advancing rechargeable lithium metal batteries (LMBs). Here, we utilized photo‐controlled copolymerization to achieve the on‐demand synthesis of fluorosulfonyl fluoropolymers as unprecedented artificial SEI layers on Li metal anodes. This work not only enables instant formation of a hybrid polymer‐inorganic interphase that consists of a polymer‐enriched top layer and a LiF‐fortified bottom layer, originating from a single polymeric component, but also imparts various desirable physical properties (e.g. good mechanical strength and flexibility, high ion conductivity, low overpotential) to SEI via a single‐to‐divergent strategy. Model reactions and structural characterizations supported the formation of a divergent fluorinated interphase, which furnished prolonged stabilization of Li deposition, high coulombic efficiency and improved cycling behavior in electrochemical experiments. This work highlights the great potential of exploring reactive polymers as versatile coatings to stabilize Li metal anodes, providing a promising avenue to solve electrode‐electrolyte interfacial problems for LMBs. This work presents the main stages of the technological process of processing fluoropolymers (a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene with ethylene and polyvinylidene fluoride) into products and defines their key processing parameters. Using thermomechanical and thermogravimetric analysis, it was determined that the maximum and minimum processing temperatures of the investigated fluoropolymers are 2400 C and 4300 C for the copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene with ethylene, and 1500 C and 4200 C for polyvinylidene fluoride, respectively. The optimal processing temperature of the studied fluoropolymers was determined using an indirect method of examining the influence of this factor on the physical and mechanical properties of the polymers. It was established that the optimal processing temperature is 2700 C for the copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene with ethylene, and 1800 C for polyvinylidene fluoride. X-ray structural studies of the fluoropolymers confirmed the assumption that increasing their processing temperature within the studied intervals leads to improved physical and mechanical properties due to changes in the structure of the polymers (increased crystallinity). The optimal pressing pressure for the investigated fluoropolymers was determined through studies of their main physical and mechanical properties, and it was established to be 40 MPa for fluoropolymers based on the copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene with ethylene and polyvinylidene fluoride. Hydrofluorocarbon gas chemistries have long been favored for SiO2 etching. However, the fluorocarbon polymer generated during the process not only assists in obtaining a high selectivity, but also leads to chamber wall contamination. The adhesion efficiency of the polymer depends on the chamber wall temperature, which needs to be well-controlled to ensure controllable polymer deposition rate and etch characteristics. Similarly, the increasing gas temperature during the process is also expected to increase the production rate of polymer precursors. Hence, it is important to properly condition the chamber so that a sufficiently high and stable chamber temperature is reached before starting the actual process. This work utilizes an Inductively Coupled Plasma Reactive Ion Etcher to optimize a multi-cycle chamber conditioning process for two C4F8/H2-based chemistries. We use the integrated optical emission spectroscopy (OES) tool to show that the dependence of etch characteristics on conditioning time is much stronger for the highly polymerizing chemistry. For a low conditioning time (< 15 min), the instability of plasma species indicate that the chamber temperature has not yet plateaued, resulting in a ⁓60% decrease of recess in the underlying silicon layer during the lot processing time. By conducting systematic etch tests, we analyze the behavior of key OES peaks to identify the optimal conditioning time (≥ 30 min) for this recipe, which results in only a 13% decrease in silicon recess depth during the processing time. Subsequently, a method to assess the stability of plasma species during the conditioning process is devised, assisting in advance to identify the optimal moment to initiate the lot process. By comparing the experimental results of the two etch recipes, we also highlight the important correlation between conditioning time and polymerizing degree of the chemistry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ESKAPE pathogens are a panel of most recalcitrant bacteria that could "escape" the treatment of antibiotics and exhibit high incidence of drug resistance. The emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) ESKAPE pathogens (particularly Gram-negative bacteria) accounts for high risk of mortality and increased resource utilization in health care. Worse still, there has been no new class of antibiotics approved for exterminating the Gram-negative bacteria for more than 50 years. Therefore, it is urgent to develop novel antibacterial agents with low resistance and potent killing efficacy against Gram-negative ESKAPE pathogens. Herein, we present a class of fluoropolymers by mimicking the amphiphilicity of cationic antimicrobial peptides. Our optimal fluoroamphiphilic polymer (PD45HF5) displayed selective antimicrobial ability for all MDR Gram-negative ESAKPE pathogens, low resistance, high in vitro cell selectivity, and in vivo curative efficacy. These findings implied great potential of fluoroamphiphilic cationic polymers as promising antibacterial agents against MDR Gram-negative ESKAPE bacteria and alleviating antibiotic resistance. Raising the charging voltage and employing high‐capacity cathodes like lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) are efficient strategies to expand battery capacity. High voltage, however, will reveal major issues such as the electrolyte's low interface stability and weak electrochemical stability. Designing high‐performance solid electrolytes from the standpoint of substance genetic engineering design is consequently vital. In this instance, stable SEI and CEI interface layers are constructed, and a 4.7 V high‐voltage solid copolymer electrolyte (PAFP) with a fluoro‐cyanogen group is generated by polymer molecular engineering. As a result, PAFP has an exceptionally broad electrochemical window (5.5 V), a high Li+ transference number (0.71), and an ultrahigh ionic conductivity (1.2 mS cm−2) at 25 °C. Furthermore, the Li||Li symmetric cell possesses excellent interface stability and 2000 stable cycles at 1 mA cm−2. The LCO|PAFP|Li batteries have a 73.7% retention capacity after 1200 cycles. Moreover, it still has excellent cycling stability at a high charging voltage of 4.7 V. These characteristics above also allow PAFP to run stably at high loading, showing excellent electrochemical stability. Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) hold great promise for lithium (Li) metal batteries (LMBs). Nevertheless, a critical challenge lies in reducing the thickness of GPEs while maintaining their mechanical integrity to achieve high‐energy‐density LMBs. Additionally, protecting the Li metal anode via electrolyte engineering in GPEs remains demanding. Herein, an innovative ultrathin (1 µm‐thick) yet robust GPE developed using an in situ curing technique, featuring a nanofibrous, exceptionally strong polyethylene separator is presented. The unique microstructure, interfacial conformability, and ultrahigh mechanical robustness of the ultrathin polyethylene separator are thoroughly verified. Enhanced ionic association within the GPE is achieved due to the strong affinity of electrolyte solvent with the fluorinated polymer network, as confirmed by large‐scale molecular dynamics simulations. The optimized solvation structure with high contact ion pairs and aggregate fractions contributes to forming an anion‐derived inorganic‐rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), thereby protecting the lithium anode. Benefiting from the ultrahigh robustness of GPE and the excellent interfacial stability, the Li metal full cell with a high mass loading LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode (≈17.3 mg cm−2) and thin Li foil anode (50 µm) demonstrates 91% capacity retention after 200 cycles. Machine learning can be used to predict the properties of polymers and explore vast chemical spaces. However, the limited number of available experimental datasets hinders the enhancement of the predictive performance of a model. This study proposes a machine learning approach that leverages transfer learning and ensemble modeling to efficiently predict the glass transition temperature (Tg) of fluorinated polymers and guide the design of high Tg copolymers. Initially, the quantum machine 9 (QM9) dataset is employed for model pretraining, thus providing robust molecular representations for the subsequent fine‐tuning of a specialized copolymer dataset. Ensemble modeling is used to further enhance prediction robustness and reliability, effectively addressing the problems owing to the limited and unevenly distributed nature of the copolymer dataset. Finally, a fine‐tuned ensemble model is used to navigate a vast chemical space comprising 61 monomers and identify promising candidates for high Tg fluorinated polymers. The model predicts 247 entries capable of achieving a Tg over 390 K, of which 14 are experimentally validated. This study demonstrates the potential of machine learning in material design and discovery, highlighting the effectiveness of transfer learning and ensemble modeling strategies for overcoming the challenges posed by small datasets in complex copolymer systems. Ferroelectric polymers have emerged as crucial materials for the development of advanced organic electronic devices. Their recent high‐end commercial applications as fingerprint sensors have only increased the amount of scientific interest around them. Despite an ever‐larger body of studies focusing on optimizing the properties of ferroelectric polymers by physical means (e. g. annealing, stretching, blending or nano‐structuring), post‐polymerization chemical modification of such polymers has only recently become a field of active study with great promise in expanding the scope of those polymers. In this work, a solution‐based post‐polymerization modification method was developed for the safe and facile grafting of a plethora of functional groups to the backbone of commercially available Poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐trifluoroethylene P(VDF‐co‐TrFE) ferroelectric polymers. To showcase the versatility of this approach, photosensitive groups were grafted onto the polymeric backbone, enabling them to undergo photo‐cross‐linking. Finally, these modified polymers were used as functional negative photoresists in a photolithographic process, highlighting the potential of this method to integrate ferroelectric fluorinated electroactive polymers into standard electronic microfabrication production lines. Ischemic stroke involves various pathological processes, among which ferroptosis is crucial. Previous studies by our group have indicated that electroacupuncture (EA) mitigates ferroptosis after ischemic stroke; however, the precise mechanism underlying this effect remains unclear. In the present study, we developed a rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion. We chose the main acupoint of the treatment methods of the "Awakening and Opening of the Brain". Rats' neurological function and motor coordination were evaluated by neurological function score and the rotarod test, respectively, and the volume of cerebral infarction was analyzed by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride Staining. The cerebrovascular conditions were visualized by time-of-flight magentic resonance angiography. In addition, we detected changes in lipid peroxidation and endogenous antioxidant activity by measuring the malondialdehyde, glutathione, superoxide dismutase activities, glutathione/oxidized glutathione and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate/oxidized nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate ratios. Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry, western blot, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, fluoro-jade B staining, immunofluorescence analysis, and transmission electron microscopy were utilized to examine the influence of EA. The results indicate that EA treatment was effective in reversing neurological impairment, neuronal damage, and protecting mitochondrial morphology and decreasing the cerebral infarct volume in the middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion rat model. EA reduced iron levels, inhibited lipid peroxidation, increased endogenous antioxidant activity, modulated the expression of several ferroptosis-related proteins, and promoted nuclear factor-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) nuclear translocation. However, the protective effect of EA was hindered by the Nrf2 inhibitor ML385. These findings suggest that EA can suppress ferroptosis and decrease damage caused by cerebral ischemia/reperfusion by activating Nrf2 and increasing the protein expression of solute carrier family 7 member 11 and glutathione peroxidase 4. With the gradual miniaturization of electronic devices and the increasing interest in wearable devices, flexible microelectronics is being actively studied. Owing to the limitations of existing battery systems corresponding to miniaturization, there is a need for flexible alternative power sources. Accordingly, energy harvesting from surrounding environmental systems using fluorinated polymers with piezoelectric properties has received significant attention. Among them, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and PVDF co-polymers have been researched as representative organo-piezoelectric materials because of their excellent piezoelectric properties, mechanical flexibility, thermal stability, and light weight. Electrospinning is an effective method for fabricating nanofibrous meshes with superior surface-to-volume ratios from polymer solutions. During electrospinning, the polymer solution is subjected to mechanical stretching and in situ poling, corresponding to an external strong electric field. Consequently, the fraction of the piezoelectric β-phase in PVDF can be improved by the electrospinning process, and enhanced harvesting output can be realized. An overview of electrospun piezoelectric fibrous meshes composed of PVDF or PVDF co-polymers to be utilized is presented, and the recent progress in enhancement methods for harvesting output, such as fiber alignment, doping with various nanofillers, and coaxial fibers, is discussed. Due to their unique properties and use in high performance materials, the ability to obtain fluorinated polymers utilizing straightforward synthetic methods remains of interest. In this study, we report the facile synthesis of new fluoropolymers via nucleophilic addition of a di‐thiol to perfluorocyclopentene. Initially, model studies were completed with perfluorocyclopentene, benzenethiol and tetramethylsilane‐protected benzenethiol to identify the optimal reaction conditions for the polymerization. These reaction conditions were then utilized to prepare perfluorocyclopentene‐thioether polymers from perfluorocyclopentene and 4,4′‐thiobisbenzenethiol. The isolated polymers had molecular weight distributions consistent with step‐growth polymers and 19F NMR spectroscopy revealed that the addition of the nucleophile to perfluorocyclopentene was controlled. Analysis by DSC showed that the polymers were amorphous with glass transition temperatures around 65 °C. TGA in both air and nitrogen showed an initial degradation temperature around 370 °C, while the air analysis produced an additional plateau with a degradation temperature near 592 °C. Localized high‐concentration electrolyte (LHCE) is considered to be a promising substitution for the conventional carbonate electrolytes in fast‐charging Li‐ion batteries. However, the rate‐determining steps (RDS) for fast‐charging electrodes (i.e., graphite anode) in LHCE remain unclear. Herein, a typical localized high‐concentration electrolyte consisting of lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide in dimethoxyethane with 1,1,2,2‐tetrafluoroethyl‐2,2,3,3‐tetrafluoropropyl ether as a diluent is selected to investigate the RDS of lithiation process in graphite anode, including the diffusion of solvated Li+ in the electrolyte, the desolvation behavior of solvated Li+, the Li+ transfer in solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on the graphite surface, and the Li+ diffusion in bulk graphite. The results indicated that the rate performance of graphite anode in LHCE lies in the balance between Li+ desolvation process and Li+ migration in SEI. Through the regulation of solvated Li+ structure and SEI component, excellent fast‐charging performance can be obtained in the LHCE. The present studies not only offer fresh insights in the mechanistic understanding of fast‐charging batteries, but also provide new clues to the performance improvement of graphite anodes. The direct two‐step synthesis of new coordination polymer [Co2(pyz)(tfa)2(dmf)6(H2O)][Co3(μ3‐F)(tfa)6(pyz)(dmf)]2 ⋅ 2dmf, (where pyz=pyrazine, Htfa=trifluoroacetic acid, dmf=dimethyl formamide) containing the fluoro‐centered secondary building block [Co3(μ3‐F)(tfa)6], is reported. The substance characterization using single‐crystal XRD, powder XRD, IR‐spectroscopy and thermogravimetry was performed. SCXRD data revealed the presence of cationic and anionic subsystems, both containing cobalt(II) ions and pyrazine bridging ligands. The magnetic proper‐ties of the compound were collected and discussed. Temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility shows Curie–Weiss like behavior at all studied temperatures. Layered double hydroxide/graphene oxide (GLDH) composites (SGLDH) modified by 7‐octenyltrimethoxysilane (7‐OTOS) were prepared by co‐precipitation method. The structure and morphology of SGLDH were characterized using x‐ray diffraction, Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), x‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive x‐ray spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. According to the obtained results, 7‐OTOS was successfully grafted onto graphene oxide (GO) and layered double hydroxide (LDH) surfaces. 7‐OTOS was grafted on both GO and LDH surfaces, which is why the amount of LDH loaded on the SGLDH surface was significantly increased compared with that on the GLDH composite. The filler‐matrix interfacial interactions of the SGLDH‐filled fluoroelastomer composites were characterized using contact angle analysis, dynamic mechanical analysis, RPA analysis, FTIR, SEM, and cross‐linking density tests. It was indicated that the interfacial interactions between the SGLDH and matrix were significantly improved, and the SGLDH was well dispersed in the fluoroelastomer composites. In addition, the gas barrier properties and mechanical properties of the fluoroelastomer composites were tested. The carbon dioxide permeability coefficients of the fluoroelastomer composites filled with 10‐phr SGLDH increased by about 32.1% and 20.3%, and the tensile strengths increased by about 47.6% and 27.7%, respectively, compared with those of the fluoroelastomer composites filled with 10‐phr LDH and GLDH. The practical application of new single molecule protein sequencing (SMPS) technologies requires accurate estimates of their associated sequencing error rates. Here, we describe the development and application of two distinct parameter estimation methods for analyzing SMPS reads produced by fluorosequencing. A Hidden Markov Model (HMM) based approach, extends whatprot, where we previously used HMMs for SMPS peptide-read matching. This extension offers a principled approach for estimating key parameters for fluorosequencing experiments, including missed amino acid cleavages, dye loss, and peptide detachment. Specifically, we adapted the Baum-Welch algorithm, a standard technique to estimate transition probabilities for an HMM using expectation maximization, but modified here to estimate a small number of parameter values directly rather than estimating every transition probability independently. We demonstrate a high degree of accuracy on simulated data, but on experimental datasets, we observed that the model needed to be augmented with an additional error type, N-terminal blocking. This, in combination with data pre-processing, results in reasonable parameterizations of experimental datasets that agree with controlled experimental perturbations. A second independent implementation using a hybrid of DIRECT and Powell's method to reduce the root mean squared error (RMSE) between simulations and the real dataset was also developed. We compare these methods on both simulated and real data, finding that our Baum-Welch based approach outperforms DIRECT and Powell's method by most, but not all, criteria. Although some discrepancies between the results exist, we also find that both approaches provide similar error rate estimates from experimental single molecule fluorosequencing datasets. Author summary: Diverse new technologies are being developed for single-molecule protein sequencing, capable of identifying and quantifying mixtures of proteins at the level of individual molecules. There are many biochemical challenges intrinsic to high-throughput studies of proteins at such high sensitivity arising from their heterogeneous chemistries, sizes, and abundances. Beyond these challenges, the technologies themselves involve complex multi-step analytical processes. Thus, in developing and optimizing these technologies, it is important to consider the accuracy of each step and to have reliable approaches for estimating these accuracies. We focus on one particular single-molecule sequencing technology known as flourosequencing. We report and validate two methods for simultaneously determining the error-rates of each of the various steps of the fluorosequencing process. These new error estimation techniques will help researchers to better interpret the effects of changes to the chemistry and sample preparation used in fluorosequencing so that these steps can be improved. Herein, conductive and stable partially fluorinated multi-cationic alkaline membrane (AM) has been reported by macromolecular modification of poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and chemical grafting of vinyl benzyl chloride (VBC). Quaternization was achieved using different amines, to control the concentration of quaternary ammonium (QA) groups. Different multi-cationic AMs were analysed by their structural (1H NMR and FT-IR) and morphological properties, ion-exchange capacity (IEC), water uptake (WU), alkaline conductivity (κ m ), and stabilities (mechanical, chemical, and thermal). Due to presence of multi cationic groups and thus steric hindrance, reported membranes were robust in alkaline medium. Single-cell anion exchange membrane fuel cell (AMFC) assembled with Tri-amino-VBC-g-PVDF membrane, exhibited relatively high performance (open circuit voltage (OCV): 1.03 V, peak power density: 244.0 mW cm−2 at 400.0 mA cm−2), in compare with other AMs reported in the literature. It was observed that AMFC performance was strongly depends on cationic group density, and present study explored the utilization possibility of partially fluorinated polymer matrix with multi-cationic groups for long lifetime during AMFC application. Fluoropolymers have gained significant recognition mainly for their inertness, making them highly desirable for applications requiring corrosion protection and hydrophobicity. However, their non-reactive nature is a double-edged sword as it presents a challenge in achieving strong adhesion to substrates. This review delves into the intricacies of adhesion assessment and explores the current status and challenges of physical and chemical modification strategies, as well as innovative green solutions, and computational approaches to enhancing fluoropolymer adhesion. Physical modification techniques involve additives/fillers inclusion or inducing controlled surface roughness, providing anchor sites for polymer chains, whereas chemical strategies modify the polymer-substrate interface, reinforcing the interacting bonds for improved adhesion. Green solutions and sustainable practices highlight environment-friendly strategies for minimizing the ecological impact of fluoropolymer coatings without compromising their desirable properties. The potential of computational approaches in understanding the underlying adhesion mechanisms is also discussed as these methods enable material screening and complement in in situ and operando studies. Furthermore, this review envisions future studies to focus on the techno-economic feasibility of developing strongly adhering fluoropolymer coatings through collaboration efforts between industries and research academic institutions in bridging the gap between laboratory discoveries and real-world industrial implementation. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and, by extension, fluoropolymers are ubiquitous in science, life, and the environment as perfluoroalkyl pollutants (PFAS). In all cases, it is difficult to transform these materials due to their chemical inertness. Herein, we report a direct amination process of PTFE and some fluoropolymers such as polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and Nafion by lithium alkylamide salts. Synthesizing these reactants extemporaneously between lithium metal and an aliphatic primary di- or triamine that also serves as a solvent leads to the rapid nucleophilic substitution of fluoride by an alkylamide moiety when in contact with the fluoropolymer. Moreover, lithium alkylamides dissolved in suitable solvents other than amines can react with fluoropolymers. This highly efficient one-pot process opens the way for further surface or bulk modification if needed, providing an easy, inexpensive, and fast experiment protocol on large scales. Superhydrophobic surfaces have been widely studied for their self-cleaning properties. However, most of the constructed superhydrophobic surfaces had problems of changing the surface morphology and color of paper/cloth. An extremely dilute superhydrophobic solution was prepared by hybrid assembly of aminated nano-SiO2 and high fluorine epoxy polymer P(FOEMA-r-GMA). The preparation of superhydrophobic cotton (SHC) and superhydrophobic book paper (SHBP) was studied through the optimal construction conditions of solution impregnation method. The optimal construction conditions for SHC were as follows: The concentration of fluorinated epoxy polymer was 3 mg/mL, the soaking time was 5 h, the drying time was 8 h, and the drying temperature was 120 °C. The maximum WCA was 158° ± 3°, and the minimum WRA was 4° ± 3°. SHC surface had good hydrophobic effect, acid and alkali resistance, and self-cleaning effect. Additionally, its surface morphology still remained basically unchanged. SHC could be used for oil–water separation with a maximum oil–water separation rate of 98.4%. The optimal construction conditions for SHBP were: The concentration of fluorinated epoxy polymer was 3 mg/mL, the soaking time was 9 h, the drying time was 6 h, the maximum WCA was 155° ± 3°, and the minimum WRA was 6° ± 1°. This article discusses the synthesis of a reagent called hexafluoroisopropyl N-fluorosulfonyl carbamate (HFC) and its transformation into sulfamoyl ureas. Sulfamoyl ureas are known for their use as herbicides and inhibitors of human acyl-CoA: cholesterol O-acyl-transferase. The article describes the synthesis of HFC and its bench-stability, as well as the reaction between HFC and amines to produce sulfamoyl ureas. The Mississippi River System is of great ecological and economic importance, making it crucial to monitor contaminants within it. While nutrient pollution is well studied, there are little data on microplastics (MPs) in the Mississippi River System (MSRS), especially during drought conditions. Herein, we characterize MP pollution from seven sites across the MSRS during both flash drought and non-drought periods using FTIR microspectroscopy (µ-FTIR). Additionally, we evaluate the impact of multiple water level conditions on MP polymer composition across five time points at a single sampling site. Of all MPs identified, polyethylene terephthalate (PET, 22%), resin (17%), and polyethylene (PE, 10%) were the most abundant polymers. Average concentrations ranged from 16 to 381 MPs/L across seven sites, with no significant difference in concentration between conditions. Irregular particles were the most common morphology, with most MPs falling in the lowest size range measured (30–100 μm). Drought condition had a significant (p < 0.001) impact on polymer composition, and polymers most strongly correlated with flash drought were mostly fluoropolymers. For the single sampling site, concentrations differed, but not significantly, across the five timepoints. These results demonstrate the complex relationship between MP concentration and drought condition, and also highlight the importance of fully characterizing MPs in environmental studies. The application of fluoropolymers in energetic materials has attracted increasing attention. The effect of poly(vinylidene difluoride) (PVDF) content on thermal reaction and combustion performance of MnO2-Al nanothermite was reported. Nanothermite samples were prepared by electrospray with the content of PVDF from 0 wt.% to 30 wt.%. Thermal reaction processes influenced by PVDF content were tested by simultaneous thermal analysis (TG-DSC). Finally, ignition threshold tests were designed, and combustion processes were recorded. The results showed that the components of nanothermite materials were evenly distributed and stable. The content of PVDF had a significant influence on thermal reaction process, which is divided into four stages. Ignition threshold was represented by value of instantaneous ignition current. With the increase of PVDF content, ignition threshold decreased first and then tended to a stable value. Besides, PVDF content had important effects on the combustion speed of the samples. Fluorination strategy is demonstrated to be a successful approach for optimizing the electron distribution and morphology of organic photovoltaic materials. The previous works focus on introducing only a few C(sp2)─F bonds into conjugated backbone or C(sp3)─F bonds into sidechains. Herein, a new strategy by introducing C(sp3)─F polyfluoride unit into the backbone is proposed, wherein the fluorine atoms are not involved into the conjugation but can promote the intermolecular interaction between backbones. Two wide‐bandgap fluoropolymers are prepared and employed as the third component for ternary organic solar cells. As expected, even if there are six fluorine atoms in a single repeat unit, the relevant fluoropolymers possess complementary absorption and aligned energy levels. More importantly, the polyfluoride backbone affords adequate non‐covalent interactions, consequently enhancing the polymer aggregation and packing order, which is verified by a fibril‐like morphology in the blend film with the host polymer PM6 and only 10 wt.% fluoropolymer. In addition, the decreased surface energy caused by polyfluoride unit is beneficial for the improvement of domain purity and the formation of nanoscale phase separation between donor and acceptor materials. Fluoroelastomer‐based composites with nano‐sized bismuth oxide (B) and/or graphite (G) as fillers were prepared and characterized using FKM type 1 fluoroelastomer as a matrix. The effects of these fillers used singly or in combination on the crosslinking process, mechanical, thermal, dynamic mechanical, electrical, optical, and high‐energy radiation attenuation properties of FKM were investigated. The results showed that graphite significantly increased the moduli E50 (MPa) of FKM/G and FKM/GB composites by 1026% and 1459%, respectively, compared to FKM. On the other hand, bismuth(III) oxide did not affect the stiffness or elongation at break of FKM significantly. Graphite also imparted electrical conductivity to FKM (10−6 Scm−1), which was reduced by bismuth oxide to 10−12 Scm−1. Furthermore, the linear attenuation coefficients (μ), half‐value layer (HVL), and tenth‐value layer (THV) of pure FKM and FKM composites were evaluated using a 137Cs (662 keV) source, revealing that FKM/B and FKM/GB composites show 47.4% and 35.8% higher μ values, respectively, than FKM. Taking into consideration that the attenuation coefficient of FKM is 10 times higher than conventional elastomers such as natural rubber, these results indicate that thin flexible shielding against high electromagnetic radiation can be achieved to protect different sensitive equipment such as electronic devices used in nuclear power plants, gamma radiation facilities, telescopes, and artificial satellites. This article explores the synthesis and characterization of fluorinated versions of the ribonuclease barnase. The authors present a protocol for synthesizing wild-type barnase and three fluorinated analogues using microwave-assisted solid-phase peptide synthesis. The synthesized proteins were then analyzed using circular dichroism spectroscopy and enzyme activity assays. The results showed that the fluorinated variants had reduced activity towards the RNA substrate compared to the wild-type enzyme. The study suggests that further research is needed to analyze substrate specificity and resolve issues with underestimating kinetic parameters. Overall, the study demonstrates the potential of chemical protein synthesis to produce fluorinated barnase variants. [Extracted from the article]

In the cosmetics industry, the extract from Raphanus sativus L. is fermented using specific starter cultures. These cosmetic ingredients act as preservatives and skin conditioners. Kombucha is traditionally made by fermenting sweetened tea using symbiotic cultures of bacteria and yeast and is used in cosmetic products. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cosmetic properties of radish leaf and root extract fermented with the SCOBY. Both unfermented water extracts and extracts after 7, 14, and 21 days of fermentation were evaluated. The analysis of secondary plant metabolites by UPLC-MS showed higher values for ferments than for extracts. A similar relationship was noted when examining the antioxidant properties using DPPH and ABTS radicals and the protective effect against H2O2-induced oxidative stress in fibroblasts and keratinocytes using the fluorogenic dye H2DCFDA. The results also showed no cytotoxicity to skin cells using Alamar Blue and Neutral Red tests. The ability of the samples to inhibit IL-1β and COX-2 activity in LPS-treated fibroblasts was also demonstrated using ELISA assays. The influence of extracts and ferments on bacterial strains involved in inflammatory processes of skin diseases was also assessed. Additionally, application tests were carried out, which showed a positive effect of extracts and ferments on TEWL and skin hydration using a TEWAmeter and corneometer probe. Ionic thermoelectrics (TEs), in which voltage generation is based on ion migration, are suitable for applications based on their low cost, high flexibility, high ionic conductivity, and wide range of Seebeck coefficients. This work reports on the development of ionic TE materials based on the poly(vinylidene fluoride‐trifluoroethylene), Poly(VDF‐co‐TrFE), as host polymer blended with different contents of the ionic liquid, IL, 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [EMIM][TFSI]. The morphology, physico‐chemical, thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties of the samples are evaluated together with the TE response. It is demonstrated that the IL acts as a nucleating agent for polymer crystallization. The mechanical properties and ionic conductivity values are dependent on the IL content. A high room temperature ionic conductivity of 0.008 S cm−1 is obtained for the sample with 60 wt% of [EMIM][TFSI] IL. The TE properties depend on both IL content and device topology‐vertical or planar‐the largest generated voltage range being obtained for the planar topology and the sample with 10 wt% of IL content, characterized by a Seebeck coefficient of 1.2 mV K−1. The FDA has approved several drugs based on the fluorinated nucleoside pharmacophore, and numerous drugs are currently in clinical trials. Fluorine-containing nucleos(t)ides offer significant antiviral and anticancer activity. The insertion of a fluorine atom, either in the base or sugar of nucleos(t)ides, alters its electronic and steric parameters and transforms the lipophilicity, pharmacodynamic, and pharmacokinetic properties of these moieties. The fluorine atom restricts the oxidative metabolism of drugs and provides enzymatic metabolic stability towards the glycosidic bond of the nucleos(t)ide. The incorporation of fluorine also demonstrates additional hydrogen bonding interactions in receptors with enhanced biological profiles. The present article discusses the synthetic methodology and antiviral activities of FDA-approved drugs and ongoing fluoro-containing nucleos(t)ide drug candidates in clinical trials. The challenge of constructing a mechanically robust yet lightweight artificial solid‐electrolyte interphase layer on lithium (Li) anodes highlights a trade‐off between high battery safety and high energy density. Inspired by the intricate microstructure of the white sea urchin, we first develop a polyvinyl fluoride‐hexafluoropropylene (PVDF‐HFP) interfacial layer with a triple periodic minimal surface structure (TPMS) that could offer maximal modulus with minimal weight. This design endows high mechanical strength to an ordered porous structure, effectively reduces local current density, polarization, and internal resistance, and stabilizes the anode interface. At a low N/P ratio of ~3, using LiFePO4 as the cathode, Li anodes protected by TPMS‐structured PVDF‐HFP achieve an extremely low capacity‐fading‐rate of approximately 0.002 % per cycle over 200 cycles at 1 C, with an average discharge capacity of 142 mAh g−1. Meanwhile, the TPMS porous structure saves 50 wt % of the interfacial layer mass, thereby enhancing the energy density of the battery. The TPMS structure is conducive to large‐scale additive manufacturing, which will provide a reference for the future development of lightweight, high‐energy‐density secondary batteries.
