Test anxiety is alarmingly rising and has been shown to correlate with academic performance and affect occupations and well-being. Graduate occupational therapy (OT) students encounter a rigorous workload and pressure to become entry-level practitioners. Higher levels of baseline graduate student anxiety is correlated with increased test anxiety. Practical examinations are essential for assessing graduate OT students' higher learning and entry-level clinical skills. Educators are often challenged with identifying coping strategies to assist graduate OT students in reducing their test anxiety. Substantial research supports the use of music to reduce anxiety in adults. Seventy-five OT graduate students participated in this quasi-experimental study which explored the influence of background music on test anxiety during a lab practical examination. Participants completed pre- and post-outcome measures using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Adults and the Test Anxiety Inventory and had their blood pressure and heart rate recorded. Results showed a significant main effect in the experimental group with music decreasing systolic blood pressure in participants with high state anxiety. Music had no significant interaction with mean arterial pressure, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, state anxiety, trait anxiety, test anxiety, or practical scores when comparing the experimental groups. Most participants indicated that background music assisted in decreasing anxiety experienced during practicals, and experimental group participants self-reported that background music was effective. Music intervention may be useful during practicals by reducing test anxiety. Additional studies would assist in further examining the efficacy of test anxiety reduction interventions with graduate OT students.

Background: Although there are a growing number of studies investigating the benefits of music therapy interventions with patients diagnosed with cancer, few studies have taken an approach that specifically examines indices of perceived well-being in women with breast cancer. Overcoming these challenges can be an important step in the recovery process. Purpose: The purpose of our study was to know the positive influence of responsive music therapy through gong sounds, emitted live, on different areas of well-being of women with breast cancer. Methods: Four individual sessions of responsive music therapy with live gong sounds were conducted in which three women (M = 54; SD = 5.57) participated both in the music therapy program and in the completion of the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B) and a semi-structured interview with ad hoc designed questions about perception of qualitative aspects. Results: The results showed that the music therapy sessions significantly improved, p = 0.043 < 0.05, various domains of perceived well-being in women with breast cancer. Discussion: This article highlights several key benefits associated with music therapy and various indices of well-being in women with breast cancer, identifies the limitations of the study, and discusses the findings. It is considered necessary to replicate this practice in future studies that include a larger sample and age range over longer follow-up periods. Translation for Health Education Practice: The text highlights the importance of considering music therapy as a complementary intervention in comprehensive cancer care programs, which may be relevant to health educators when considering intervention and support approaches for cancer patients. This paper discusses an experiment conducted with two groups of participants, composed of musicians and non-musicians, in order to investigate the impact that the speed of a sound sequence and the interval size which selected sounds are played on the grouping of sounds into perceptual streams. Significant differences were observed between musicians and non-musicians with respect to the threshold sequence speed at which the sequence was split into two streams. In modern psychoacoustic studies, the qualifying criteria for listeners usually include otologically normal hearing (verified by audiometric test) and age. The differences in the results for the two groups suggest that the musical background of the participating listeners may be a vital factor. The criterion of musical education should be taken into account during experiments so that the results obtained are reliable, uniform and free from interpretive errors.

The influence of the Double Reduction Policy on music education quality and the integration of aesthetic learning necessitated an in-depth examination into music teachers' experiences, views, and adaptations within the shifting educational landscape. This qualitative study's aim was to explore the complex interactions between pedagogy, policy dynamics, cognition, and aesthetic learning in the context of music education. The study sought to investigate how music educators in Zaozhuang City's primary and secondary schools managed policy changes while fostering aesthetic learning experiences against the backdrop of the Double Reduction Policy. A qualitative technique was used in this study, including targeted sampling of 25 music teachers from various schools. To investigate instructors' attitudes, beliefs, and instructional practices, semi-structured interviews were undertaken. Thematic analysis was used to uncover patterns in the obtained data, allowing for a thorough comprehension of the complex interplay between policy, cognition, and education. The study showed the complex interactions between policy requirements, instructors' cognitive environments, and the quest of aesthetic learning experiences. The results demonstrated how teachers were able to adjust their teaching methods while fostering aesthetic dimensions through interactive discussions and projectbased homework. The study adds theoretical insights by demonstrating sociocultural dynamics inside educational contexts, where governmental requirements collide with personal values, influencing instructional choices. Practical implications underscore the necessity of individualized professional development in providing techniques for effective music education despite policy constraints. Data were collected using several questionnaires: the MPA Inventory for Adolescents (MPAI-A), the Self-Efficacy Formative Questionnaire, and the Career Futures Inventory (CFI). The findings indicate that MPA is negatively associated with self-efficacy and future career expectations. Additionally, self-efficacy acts as a partial moderator between MPA and career expectations, suggesting that enhancing the self-efficacy of music students can boost their future career aspirations and mitigate the adverse effects of MPA. BACKGROUND: The practice of physical exercises has become more and more frequent, as well as external motivational strategies during their performance, such as music or other auditory resources. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the influence of musical and verbal stimuli when compared to silence, without interference of sound or speech on performance during the abdominal crunch. METHODS: Third young volunteers participated in the study, 15 males and 15 females, trained for at least 6 months in bodybuilding, mean age 23.7±3.0 without intercurrence of injuries in the region abdominal. The volunteers were submitted to the execution of sit-ups "crunch", these being on the random influence of three situations in the test: 1) Musical Stimulus; 2) Verbal Stimulation; 3) Silence. At the end of the application of each test, the volunteers responded to the Adapted Scale of Perceived Exertion. RESULTS: Without specifying one of the variables, comparing between genders, men performed better than women (p<0.05), however, between groups, the stimuli "silence", "music" and "verbal command" did not showed significant effect (p>0.05). Introduction: Cochlear implants (CIs), which are designed to support spoken communication of persons with severe to profound hearing loss, can provide improved hearing capability through passive exposure. However, auditory training may optimize perception of spectrally complex sounds such as music or speech. Reviews of music-based training for pediatric CI users have reported modest though variable benefits, as well as problems with attrition. It is presumed that more substantial changes may result from longer, more intensive training; however, the development of protocols sufficiently motivating for sustained intensity is challenging. This article examined the experiences of star pediatric CI users, whose years of music training have yielded exceptional auditory benefits. Greater understanding of their experiences and attitudes may suggest best practices for music-based training. Research aims included: (a) characterizing the musical behaviors and perceptual learning processes of music-centric (Musiccentric, for purposes of this paper, refers to CI users who engage in sustained and successful music making such as music lessons and ensembles and focused music listening over a period of years, and who derive deep satisfaction from those experiences.) pediatric CI users, and (b) identifying psychosocial and auditory factors that motivated persistence in auditory training. Methods: We used qualitative and patient-engaged research methodologies, gathering data through questionnaires with open-ended questions. The participants, six music-centric CI users and five parents, described their experiences and attitudes regarding music training, and factors that supported or undermined those experiences. Data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Results: The codes were consolidated into five themes and organized into a Model of Music-Based Learning for Pediatric Cochlear Implant Recipients. Sustained participation in music training was perceived as a dynamic process including varied musical stimuli, and moderated by intrinsic (attitude, perceived behavioral control) and extrinsic (parents, teachers, peers) influences, hearing status, sound access and background factors. Discussion: These themes highlighted motivational factors that pediatric CI users and parents considered important to sustained, intensive and successful music learning throughout childhood and adolescence. Background: Palliative care focuses on the prevention of worsening health, improving the quality of the patient's life, and the relief of suffering, and therefore has a considerable impact on both the patient suffering from a life-threatening or potentially life-threatening illness and on their family. Spirituality, as the dimension of human life involving the search for meaning, purpose, and transcendence, and connection with oneself, others, and the sacred, could be essential in supporting these patients. The aim of this study was to synthesise the scientific evidence describing the interventions and/or activities undertaken to meet the spiritual needs of the palliative patient. Methods: A literature search was carried out across the following databases: PubMed, LILACS, Scopus, and Web of Science. The PRISMA statement was used to guide this review. Results: Twenty-four articles were included. The thematic categories included spiritual needs at the end of life, the influence of music and dance as palliative care, care for family caregivers, and the comparison between counselling and dignity therapy. Conclusions: Interventions in the biopsychosocial–spiritual spheres impact on the patient's peace of mind and promote the acceptance of a "good death". Healthcare personnel play an essential role in the way their patients prepare for the moment of death, and the meaning and values they convey help them to accompany and welcome patients. Last but not least, universities can play a crucial role by training nurses to integrate spiritual interventions such as music and dance, or by considering the family as a unit of care. The aim of this research was to enhance understanding of the relationship between brief music listening and working memory (WM) functions. The study extends a previous large-scale experiment in which the effects of brief exposure to music on verbal WM were explored. In the present second phase of the experiment, these effects were assessed for the visuospatial subcomponent of WM. For that aim, visuospatial WM was measured using the Corsi blocks task-backwards and Visual Patterns Test in a large sample of 311 young and older adults after being exposed to musical excerpts coming from different music composers (Mozart, Vivaldi, Glass). To account for possible effects of arousal, a silence condition was used. Individual preference for music excerpts and emotional reactions to each condition were also subjectively rated using the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) to account for the role of emotional reactions in shaping subsequent cognitive performance. Results showed that music affected the visuospatial sketchpad of WM. In line with the previously described Mozart effect, only Mozart's music had a significant positive impact on visuospatial WM in the two age groups, regardless of preferences, and on overall age-related WM decline in older adults. The Mozart effect was more prominent for the VPT than the Corsi task and was also expressed for the prevailing positive effect. These observations are in contrast to the selective influence of Vivaldi's music on verbal WM that was detected in our first study. Together, the results demonstrate a differential music influence on the phonological loop and on the visuospatial sketchpad. They thus contribute to the debate of whether music has the potential to affect distinct processes within working memory in an excerpt- or composer-specific manner. Also, they suggest that emotional activation and central executive attention are essentially involved in modulating the influence of music on subsequent cognition. In modern times there is increasing acceptance that music-based interventions are useful aids in the clinical treatment of a range of neurological and psychiatric conditions, including helping to reduce the perception of pain. Indeed, the belief that music, whether listening or performing, can alter human pain experiences has a long history, dating back to the ancient Greeks, and its potential healing properties have long been appreciated by indigenous cultures around the world. The subjective experience of acute or chronic pain is complex, influenced by many intersecting physiological and psychological factors, and it is therefore to be expected that the impact of music therapy on the pain experience may vary from one situation to another, and from one person to another. Where pain persists and becomes chronic, aberrant central processing is a key feature associated with the ongoing pain experience. Nonetheless, beneficial effects of exposure to music on pain relief have been reported across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, and it has been shown to be effective in neonates, children and adults. In this comprehensive review we examine the various neurochemical, physiological and psychological factors that underpin the impact of music on the pain experience, factors that potentially operate at many levels -- the periphery, spinal cord, brainstem, limbic system and multiple areas of cerebral cortex. We discuss the extent to which these factors, individually or in combination, influence how music affects both the quality and intensity of pain, noting that there remains controversy about the respective roles that diverse central and peripheral processes play in this experience. Better understanding of the mechanisms that underlie music's impact on pain perception together with insights into central processing of pain should aid in developing more effective synergistic approaches when music therapy is combined with clinical treatments. The study focused on integrating music into physical education for students with special needs as part of a comprehensive school-wide approach. The goal was to determine the influence of music integration on student participation. The study explored methods to enhance motor skills and coordination, and evaluated the viewpoints and experiences of teachers. The study demonstrated that introducing music into physical education can improve student engagement and skill development, particularly for kids with special needs. Music creates rhythm and structure, which improves physical health and motor skills. To get the best results, schools should evaluate the most effective types of music and time. Much research documented the influence of music on various behaviors, including substance use and delinquency. Yet, less is known about its influences on dimensions that are crucial for behavioral outcomes, namely beliefs and attitudes. In this study, we reviewed and meta-analyzed the literature about music effects on beliefs (n = 82, published 1972–2021) by mapping the theoretical and methodological features of this literature, focusing on the effect size of various characteristics (e.g., age, design) and on open scientific practices. Results indicate a relationship between exposure to music and music-consistent beliefs, with heterogeneity related to the type of beliefs, modality of exposure, designs, and sample characteristics. The article presents the results of theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific achievements of world and domestic scientists of the study of the problem of psychological readiness of specialists who study it in the dimension of special education and correctional and rehabilitation impact on children with violations of intellectual, autistic, speech and kinesthetic dysontogenesis. Analysis of literary sources showed that the psychological readiness of a specialist of special education is an integral education of the teacher consisting in the motivational, emotional and activity attitude of the adult to change in behavioral, regulatory, developmental, intellectual, sensual perception of cooperation with the child aimed at correcting and compensation for central nuclear disorders and their consequences. Methods & methodology. The psychological readiness of the music therapist is presented as the following components: praxeological, assertive and internal. Each component is represented by parameters of intellectual, motivational, volitional, self-regulatory, evaluation, creative, creative, communicative, correctional-compensatory psychological mechanisms. The scientific novelty consists in the author’s definition of criteria and levels of psychological readiness of a specialist in musical development for adequate interaction with children differentiated by one or another nosology. Results. It is determined that the personal traits of a musician-teacher are manifested in a situation of his awareness of the need for special professional training to perceive the psychological characteristics of children with special educational needs. It is noted that without the formed psychological readiness of a specialist of musical direction, his supervision of training, psychological support, a negative attitude towards special children and cooperation with them is laid. Music therapy requires special training of specialists who are not only competent in the field of music, the influence of music, the use of musical instruments, but what ensures the phenomenon of its effectiveness and reliability of scientific and practical results. Music therapy has recently begun to be used in special education and this work included specialists in the musical direction of activity. Scientists studying the pedagogical and psychological qualities of a music teacher point to criteria such as high-quality musical abilities, the ability to encourage children to cooperate, to show musical abilities in these children, develop musical taste in them, understanding of the material, make efforts while learning to play instruments, creatively approach the use of musical material and systematically support motivation and contribute to the creative development of children. The article presents levels of professional awareness by music therapists of the problems of cooperation with children of the above difficulties, acceptance, assimilation, processing and implementation of musical content. It is determined that such cooperation should take place in the context of not only musical but also special work within the framework of musical psychotherapy. Conclusions. Our investigation will commence with an analysis of studies examining the progression of fetal responses at different stages of gestation. Following that, we will scrutinize research pertaining to how fetuses react to music, both when it is played to them via their mothers and when it is presented directly to them. Lastly, we will consider studies that focus on fetal memory in the context of music. The second part of the article will focus on the reasons behind music's profound effects on fetuses. This paper assesses the economic potential of music streaming in a developing African economy. It aims to know whether, in emerging African countries, the economic value of music streaming can significantly improve the world's music market revenue growth. Hence, the study uses two marketing theories, product and marketing concepts, to conceptualize a hypothesized model based on survey data from Nigeria. Specifically, it achieves its objective by analyzing the factors that correlate with premium music streaming using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Our findings suggest that music sampling and consumer attitude are crucial for determining purchase intention and premium streaming. Additionally, we find that stringent anti-piracy measures and low streaming costs can influence optimal music purchase intention and premium music streaming behavior. Overall, while the study fosters an understanding of the economic potential of music streaming in emerging African markets, its evidence supports the literature with valuable insights for decision-makers. The creativity and general cognitive development of students are greatly aided by music education. In China, the government has taken action to nationalize the curriculum in recognition of the value of music education and to ensure that children across the country receive consistent, excellent music training. This study aimed to examine the impact of student motivation on academic achievement. Furthermore, it explored the mediating role of student motivation and the moderating role of saxophone teaching methods. The study includes a sample of 375 college students in China and uses a quantitative crosssectional design. The acceptance and integration of culturally appropriate music curricula, teaching strategies, and educational resources are referred to as nationalizing music education. Understanding the effects of nationalization on students' learning results requires a thorough understanding of student motivation and academic success in the music classroom. The principal data collection tool for this study is a survey questionnaire that examines the nationalization of music education, saxophone teaching techniques, student motivation, and academic accomplishment. The gathered data are examined using statistical techniques like PLS-SEM and moderation analysis. The results of the study demonstrated a direct and favorable relationship between music education and academic performance. Furthermore, it was discovered that students' motivation played a mediating role in this association, indicating that increased levels of motivation amplified the beneficial influence of music education on academic achievements. Moreover, it was noted that teaching modes play a moderating influence, where the use of experimental teaching methods amplifies the impact of music education on academic accomplishment, especially in practical and creative areas. Abstract Background Psychological problems are common among the people of every community. These psychological issues are leading people to mental health issues. Human well-being is required to be improved appropriately for the better health of the public. The objective of this research is to determine the influence of music therapy on the sustainable psychological well-being of the Chinese community. Furthermore, this research determines that moderating role of health awareness and strategic health management between music therapy and sustainable psychological well-being. Method The research used a sample of 384 collected with a random sampling method. For data collection, a cross-sectional method was adopted to collect data on a Likert scale questionnaire. The Health Awareness Scale, Music Therapy Scale, Sustainable Health Management Scale and Sustainable Psychological Wellbeing Scale was used in this research. Results The findings of the research highlighted that there is a significant and positive influence of music therapy on the sustainable psychological well-being of the Chinese community. This research also concluded that there is a significant and positive moderating role of health awareness and strategic health management between music therapy and sustainable psychological well-being. The findings of this research are new and novel in the literature on psychological well-being. Conclusion This research has some theoretical and practical implications to advance the literature and practice for sustainable psychological well-being respectively. In clinical practice, music therapy can be effectively used to improve the psychological well-being of individuals with sustainability. The information related to health awareness and practice for strategic health management is also necessary for the clinical patients to improve their psychological well-being.
