Abstract

A report from the University of Oxford discusses the findings of research on cochlear implants (CIs) and their impact on pediatric recipients. The study explores the benefits of auditory training for children with severe to profound hearing loss who use CIs. The research examines the experiences of pediatric CI users who have undergone music-based auditory training and identifies psychosocial and auditory factors that motivate persistence in training. The study suggests that these factors should be considered in the development of music-based training for pediatric CI recipients. [Extracted from the article]
