Avoiding financial losses requires preventing catastrophic oil‐filled power transformer breakdowns. Continuous online transformer monitoring is needed. The authors use paper insulation to evaluate transformer health for continuous online transformer monitoring. The study suggests a new artificial intelligence method for estimating paper insulation residual life in oil‐immersed power transformers. The four artificial intelligence models use backpropagation‐based neural networks to predict paper insulation lifespan. Four primary transformer insulating paper failure indices—degree of polymerisation, 2‐furfuraldehyde, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide—form the basis of these models. Each model, including the backpropagation‐based neural networks, estimates paper insulation life using one failure index, along with moisture and temperature data. Optimisation techniques enhance hidden layer neurons and epoch count for improved performance. Results are validated against literature‐based life models, establishing a precise input–output correlation. This method accurately predicts the remaining useable life of power transformer paper insulation, enabling utilities to take proactive measures for safe and efficient transformer operation. In order to study the cutting performance of the straight edge hob and reduce the cutting power consumption model of the straight edge hob, this paper takes the cutting power of the straight edge hob as the minimum goal, and establishes the mathematical model of the optimization design of the straight edge hob based on the composite optimization method. The mathematical model is solved by MATLAB software. At the same time,the mowing characteristics of a roller blade were studied by investigating the relationship between the hob and the coordination of variables such as rotational speed and roller diameter with the mowing parameters. The parameter analysis of straight edge hob before and after structural parameter optimization is generated, and a design method is proposed based on this. After defining the objective function and constraint conditions, the influence of structural parameters on the power consumption and efficiency of the hob was determined by optimising the complex method; this could significantly adjust the hob parameters to lower its power consumption. The energy consumption of the optimized design is reduced by 11.1 % compared with the original scheme, and the optimization effect is remarkable. The results show that the best working parameters of the hob are cutting speed of 1000 r/min, sliding cutting angle and grinding edge angle of 25~30°. Moreover, practical tests demonstrated the feasibility of using the proposed method to design the straight edge hob to improve mowing performance and hob stability. The MMOR Best Paper Award is given annually to an outstanding article published in the Mathematical Methods of Operations Research journal. The 2023 award was presented to Zhuoyi Xu, Linbin Li, and Yong Xia for their paper on a partial ellipsoidal approximation scheme for nonconvex homogeneous quadratic optimization with quadratic constraints. This paper introduces novel mathematical optimisation models for the 2-Dimensional guillotine Cutting Stock Problem with Variable-Sized Stock that appears in a Spanish company in the honeycomb cardboard industry. This problem mainly differs from the classical cutting stock problems in the stock, which is considered variable-sized, i.e. we have to decide the panel dimensions, width, and length. This approach is helpful in industries where the stock is produced simultaneously with the cutting process. The stock is then cut into smaller rectangular pieces that must meet the customers' requirements, such as the type of item, dimensions, demands, and technical specifications. Furthermore, in the problem tackled in this paper, the cuts are guillotine, performed side to side. The proposed mathematical models are validated using real data from the company, obtaining results that drastically reduce the produced material and leftovers, reducing operation times and economic costs. The ship piping layout is one of the essential tasks in the detailed design stage of a ship. Traditional manual expert design has disadvantages such as low efficiency, reliance on experience, and subjective influence. Therefore, this paper systematically proposes an intelligent arrangement method for ships' single, parallel, and branch pipelines. Firstly, the traditional genetic algorithm is improved and combined with the A* algorithm to solve the intelligent arrangement problem of a single pipeline in ships. Then, the parallel pipeline and branch pipeline are split into multiple single pipelines by combining with the connection point strategy to solve the arrangement problem of parallel pipeline and branch pipeline. Finally, the optimized A*-genetic algorithm proposed in this paper is compared with the A* algorithm, particle swarm algorithm, and the labyrinth-genetic algorithm used in previous research through simulation experiments. The results show that the A*-genetic algorithm of this paper is optimal in six indexes, including length, number of elbows, energy value, fitness value, number of optimal solutions, and average number of convergence generations, in the arrangement of the single pipeline. In solving the parallel pipeline and branch pipeline arrangement problems, the all-around performance of this paper's algorithm is better than that of A*-genetic algorithm and maze–genetic algorithm, respectively. The A*-genetic algorithm of this paper considers the quality of pipeline arrangement and the solution's efficiency. With distributed energy sources connected to the distribution grid on a large scale for distributed photovoltaic power randomness, this paper proposes a flexible interconnection system optimization operation strategy. First, the virtual synchronous control technology is improved to improve the DC bus voltage stability; second, it analyzes the system operation mode to judge the output logic of PV and storage units, takes DC bus power balance as the underlying logic, and puts forward the power coordination optimization strategy and fault power supply restoration strategy with full consideration of factors such as the load balance degree of the distribution station area, the economic operation of the main transformer, and the amount of power lost in the faulty station area. It also establishes a multi-objective optimization model to obtain the power commands of each port and achieves the power flexibility mutualization of the flexible interconnected system through the accurate regulation of the soft normally open point (SNOP). Lightning strikes can cause equipment damage and power outages, so the distribution system's reliability in withstanding lightning strikes is crucial. This research paper presents a model that aims to optimise the configuration of a lightning protection system (LPS) in the power distribution system and minimise the System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI), a measure of reliability, and the associated cost investment. The proposed lightning electromagnetic transient model considers LPS factors such as feeder shielding, grounding design, and soil types, which affect critical current, flashover rates, SAIFI, and cost. A metaheuristic algorithm, PSOGSA, is used to obtain the optimal solution. The paper's main contribution is exploring grounding schemes and soil resistivity's impact on SAIFI. Using 4 grounding rods arranged in a straight line under the soil with 10 Ωm resistivity reduces grounding resistance and decreases SAIFI from 3.783 int./yr (no LPS) to 0.146 int./yr. Unshielded LPS has no significant effect on critical current for soil resistivity. Four test cases with different cost investments are considered, and numerical simulations are conducted. Shielded LPSs are more sensitive to grounding topologies and soil resistivities, wherein higher investment, with 10 Ωm soil resistivity, SAIFI decreases the most by 73.34%. In contrast, SAIFIs for 1 kΩm and 10 kΩm soil resistivities show minor decreases compared to SAIFIs with no LPS. The study emphasises the importance of considering soil resistivity and investment cost when selecting the optimal LPS configuration for distribution systems, as well as the significance of LPS selection in reducing interruptions to customers. In the context of integrated energy systems, the synergy between generalised energy storage systems and integrated energy systems has significant benefits in dealing with multi-energy coupling and improving the flexibility of energy market transactions, and the characteristics of the multi-principal game in the integrated energy market are becoming more and more obvious, but it is difficult to improve the flexibility of the transactions between "source-load-storage" in a one-way master–slave game structure, and the problem of how to establish an optimisation strategy for the coordination of integrated energy systems and energy storage systems is an urgent issue. How to establish a coordinated optimisation strategy of integrated energy system and energy storage system is an urgent problem. Therefore, this paper proposes a generalised shared energy storage and integrated energy system transaction optimisation method based on a two-stage game model, which improves the flexibility of the system transaction by constructing a two-stage game energy transaction model in which the subject acts as a leader and a gamer. Compared with the current one-way game model that does not consider the game on the energy storage side, the coordinated optimisation method proposed in this paper enables the energy storage side to participate more actively in the scheduling, which improves its revenue by 20.6%, the revenue on the energy-using side by 6.3%, and the overall revenue of the system by 5.4%, and at the same time, the load demand response regulation effect is more obvious, so the energy scheduling strategy proposed in this paper is able to weigh the interests of each subject and increase the overall economic benefits of the system. Cyber Defense is becoming a major issue for every organization to keep business continuity intact. The presented paper explores the effectiveness of a meta-heuristic optimization algorithm-Artificial Bees Colony Algorithm (ABC) as an Nature Inspired Cyber Security mechanism to achieve adaptive defense. It experiments on the Denial- Of-Service attack scenarios which involves limiting the traffic flow for each node. Businesses today have adapted their service distribution models to include the use of the Internet, allowing them to effectively manage and interact with their customer data. This shift has created an increased reliance on online services to store vast amounts of confidential customer data, meaning any disruption or outage of these services could be disastrous for the business, leaving them without the knowledge to serve their customers. Adversaries can exploit such an event to gain unauthorized access to the confidential data of the customers. The proposed algorithm utilizes an Adaptive Defense approach to continuously select nodes that could present characteristics of a probable malicious entity. For any changes in network parameters, the cluster of nodes is selected in the prepared solution set as a probable malicious node and the traffic rate with the ratio of packet delivery is managed with respect to the properties of normal nodes to deliver a disaster recovery plan for potential businesses. As an emerging energy allocation method, shared energy storage devices play an important role in modern power systems. At the same time, with the continuous improvement in renewable energy penetration, modern power systems are facing more uncertainties from the source side. Therefore, a robust optimization algorithm that considers both shared energy storage devices and source-side uncertainty is needed. Responding to the above issues, this paper first establishes an optimal model of a regional integrated energy system with shared energy storage. Secondly, the uncertainty problem is transformed into a dynamic optimization problem with time-varying parameters, and a modified robust optimization over time algorithm combined with scenario analysis is proposed to solve such optimization problems. Finally, an optimal scheduling objective function with the lowest operating cost of the system as the optimization objective is established. In the experimental part, this paper first establishes a dynamic benchmark test function to verify the validity of proposed method. Secondly, the multi-mode actual verification of the proposed algorithm is carried out through a regional integrated energy system. The simulation results show that the modified robust optimization over time (ROOT) algorithm could find solutions with better robustness in the same dynamic environment based on the two-stage evaluation strategy. Compared with the existing algorithms, the average fitness and survival time of the robust solution obtained by the modified ROOT algorithm are increased by 94.41% and 179.78%. With the rapid expansion of offshore wind capacity worldwide, minimising operation and maintenance requirements is pivotal. Regarded as a low-maintenance alternative to conventional drivetrain systems, direct-drive generators are increasingly commonplace for wind turbines in hard-to-service areas. To facilitate higher torque requirements consequent to low-speed operation, these machines are bulky, greatly increasing nacelle size and mass over their counterparts. This paper therefore details the structural optimisation of the International Energy Agency 15 MW Reference Wind Turbine rotor through iterative Parameter and Topology Optimisation and the inclusion of additional structural members, with consideration to its mechanical, modal, and thermal performances. With temperature found to have a significant impact on the structural integrity of multi-megawatt direct-drive machines, a Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis was carried out to map the temperature of the structure during operation and inform a consequent Finite Element Method analysis. This process, novel to this paper, found that topologically optimised structures outperform parametrically optimised structures thermally and that integrated heatsinks can be employed to further reduce deformation. Lastly, generative design techniques were used to further optimise the structure, reducing its mass, deformation, and maximum stress and expanding its operating envelope. This study reaches several key conclusions, demonstrating that significant mass reductions are achievable through the removal of cylinder wall geometry areas as well as through the implementation of structural supports and iterative parametric and topology optimisation techniques. Through the flexibility it grants, generative design was found to be a powerful tool, delivering further improvements to an already efficient, yet complex design. Heatsinks were found to lower generator structural temperatures, which may yield lower active cooling requirements whilst providing structural support. This paper presents a detailed review of the existing literature on peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading considering market architectures, trading strategies, and enabling technologies. P2P energy trading enables individual users in the electricity network to act as sellers or buyers and trade energy among each other. To facilitate the discussion on different aspects of P2P energy trading, this paper focuses on P2P market mechanisms, relevant bidding strategies, and auction models. In addition, to solve the energy management problems associated with P2P energy trading, this paper investigates widely used solution methods such as game-theoretic models, mathematical optimisation, as well as more recent machine learning techniques and evaluates them in a critical manner. This paper solves the problem of designing positive functional $ H_{\infty } $ H ∞ filters for positive linear time-delay systems. In fact, we propose a new positive reduced order $ H_{\infty } $ H ∞ filter for positive linear constant state time-delay systems for which the states remain in the nonnegative orthant of the state space, subject to disturbances and unknown inputs. This paper is a first attempt to design positive unknown inputs functional $ H_{\infty } $ H ∞ filter for such positive linear delayed systems. The proposed approach is based on the positivity of an augmented system composed of dynamics of both considered system and proposed filter, on the unbiasedness of the estimation error by the resolution of Sylvester equation and also on Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability theory; then conditions for the establishment of such filters are formulated in terms of an optimization problem. The increasing public demand for fresh products has catalyzed the requirement for cold chain logistics distribution systems. However, challenges such as temperature control and delivery delays have led a significant product loss and increased costs. To improve the current situation, a novel approach to optimize cold chain logistics distribution for fresh products will be presented in the paper, utilizing a hybrid Tabu-Grey wolf optimizer (TGWO) algorithm. The proposed hybrid approach combines Tabu search (TS) and Grey wolf optimizer (GWO), employing TS for exploration and GWO for exploitation, aiming to minimize distribution costs in total and establish efficient vehicle scheduling schemes considering various constraints. The effectiveness of the TGWO algorithm is demonstrated through experiments and case studies compared to other heuristic algorithms. Comparative analysis against traditional optimization methods, including Particle swarm optimization (PSO), Whale optimization algorithm (WOA), and original GWO, highlights its superior efficiency and solution quality. This study contributes theories by demonstrating the efficacy of hybrid optimization techniques in complex supply chain networks and dynamic market environments. The practical implication lies in the implementation of TGWO to bolster distribution efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality maintenance throughout the logistics process, offering valuable insights for operational and strategic improvements by decision-makers. This paper introduces three novel approaches to size geothermal energy piles in a MILP, offering fresh perspectives and potential solutions. The research overlooks MILP models that incorporate the sizing of a geothermal borefield. Therefore, this paper presents a new model utilizing a g-function model to regulate the power limits. Geothermal energy is an essential renewable source, particularly for heating and cooling. Complex energy systems, with their diverse sources of heating and cooling and intricate interactions, are crucial for a climate-neutral energy system. This work significantly contributes to the integration of geothermal energy as a vital energy source into the modelling of such complex systems. Borehole heat exchangers help generate heat in low-temperature energy systems. However, optimizing these exchangers using mixed-integer-linear programming (MILP), which only allows for linear equations, is complex. The current research only uses R-C, reservoir, or g-function models for pre-sized borefields. As a result, borehole heat exchangers are often represented by linear factors such as 50 W/m for extraction or injection limits. A breakthrough in the accuracy of borehole heat exchanger sizing has been achieved with the development of a new model, which has been rigorously compared to two simpler models. The geothermal system was configured for three energy systems with varying ground and bore field parameters. The results were then compared with existing geothermal system tools. The new model provides more accurate depth sizing with an error of less than 5 % compared to simpler models with an error higher than 50 %, although it requires more calculation time. The new model can lead to more accurate borefield sizing in MILP applications to optimize energy systems. Over the last few decades, researches related to the impact of production and industrial manufacturing on environmental sustainability, coupled with multi-dimensional multi-criteria decision analysis and performance evaluation has consistently gained importance. However, no significant work in which an effort to optimize the total production process with the consideration of the positive and negative impacts of each input and output on Environmental sustainability has been noticed. The main aim of our paper is to address this gap. In this paper, an effort has been made to develop a realistic optimization model wherein a manufacturing firm has been considered to function with several decision-making units taking into account the effects of factors like profit, employment generation, social development, environmental pollution and sustainability. The various inputs employed and outputs produced by the firm are responsible for having negative impacts on the environment, besides creative value generation. With due consideration to both these values instead of mere profit, the model determines and explores the firm's decision considering different objectives. The optimization problem has been solved by a GA developed by us and demonstrated with numerical examples. SD-WANs are an innovative software-defined network (SDN) technology used to reinvent networks, services, and applications in wide area network (WANs). The development of SD-WANs ranges from network optimization in the past to service provision platforms at present and distributed computing systems in the future. The existing surveys on SD-WANs are fragmented, covering specific problems only, and are not comprehensive with detailed research directions. This paper seeks to provide a systematic survey on SD-WANs by introducing major research directions and stating specific problems. Therefore, four major research directions related to traffic engineering, network optimization and systems, service orchestration, and the security issues of SD-WANs are sequentially introduced, along with detailed statements relating to specific problems and the classification of state-of-the-art research. A new omni-channel retailing mode, prepositioned warehouses, which developed rapidly in China during the COVID-19 pandemic, was introduced, and a three-level logistics network optimisation model for agricultural products was presented. This study takes into account the characteristics of the omni-channel retail model, which combines the two delivery methods of vehicle delivery and consumer in-store purchase, adds the freshness penalty incurred by fresh agricultural products in the storage process of the prepositioned warehouse, and establishes a mathematical optimisation model of the three-stage logistics network of the prepositioned warehouse that meets the characteristics of omni-channel retailing on the basis of the classical EOQ inventory model. In this work, the shortest delivery time and the smallest total cost are set as the optimisation objectives, and the multi-objective problem is transformed into a single objective through normalisation and linear weighting methods to obtain a mixed-integer optimisation model. The burgeoning field of fog computing introduces a transformative computing paradigm with extensive applications across diverse sectors. At the heart of this paradigm lies the pivotal role of edge servers, which are entrusted with critical computing and storage functions. The optimization of these servers' storage capacities emerges as a crucial factor in augmenting the efficacy of fog computing infrastructures. This paper presents a novel storage optimization algorithm, dubbed LIRU (Low Interference Recently Used), which synthesizes the strengths of the LIRS (Low Interference Recency Set) and LRU (Least Recently Used) replacement algorithms. Set against the backdrop of constrained storage resources, this research endeavours to formulate an algorithm that optimizes storage space utilization, elevates data access efficiency, and diminishes access latencies. The investigation initiates a comprehensive analysis of the storage resources available on edge servers, pinpointing the essential considerations for optimization algorithms: storage resource utilization and data access frequency. The study then constructs an optimization model that harmonizes data frequency with cache capacity, employing optimization theory to discern the optimal solution for storage maximization. Subsequent experimental validations of the LIRU algorithm underscore its superiority over conventional replacement algorithms, showcasing significant improvements in storage utilization, data access efficiency, and reduced access delays. Notably, the LIRU algorithm registers a 5% increment in one-hop hit ratio relative to the LFU algorithm, a 66% enhancement over the LRU algorithm, and a 14% elevation in system hit ratio against the LRU algorithm. Moreover, it curtails the average system response time by 2.4% and 16.5% compared to the LRU and LFU algorithms, respectively, particularly in scenarios involving large cache sizes. This paper addresses the problem of accurate and interpretable prediction of energy consumption in residential buildings. The solution that we propose in this work employs the knowledge discovery machine learning approach combining fuzzy systems with evolutionary optimization. The contribution of this work is twofold, including both methodology and experimental investigations. As far as methodological contribution is concerned, in this paper, we present an original designing procedure of fuzzy rule-based prediction systems (FRBPSs) for accurate and transparent energy consumption prediction in residential buildings. The proposed FRBPSs are characterized by a genetically optimized accuracy–interpretability trade-off. The trade-off optimization is carried out by means of multi-objective evolutionary optimization algorithms—in particular, by our generalization of the well-known strength Pareto evolutionary algorithm 2 (SPEA2). The proposed FRBPSs' designing procedure is our original extension and generalization (for regression problems operating on continuous outputs) of an approach to designing fuzzy rule-based classifiers (FRBCs) we developed earlier and published in 2020 in this journal. FRBCs operate on discrete outputs, i.e., class labels. The experimental contribution of this work includes designing the collection of FRBPSs for residential building energy consumption prediction using the data set published in 2024 and available from Kaggle Database Repository. Moreover, the comparison with 20 available alternative approaches is carried out, demonstrating that our approach significantly outperforms alternative methods in terms of interpretability and transparency of the energy consumption predictions made while remaining comparable or slightly superior in terms of the accuracy of those predictions. China is rich in high-grade coalbed methane resources, accounting for one-third of the total amount of coalbed methane resources. Qinshui Basin is the main high ranking coalbed methane mining basin in China. In the early stage of CBM development, low-production and low-efficiency wells were formed in the process of block development because of an insufficient understanding of reservoir geological conditions. The existence of low-yield and low-efficiency wells with low output and a poor development benefit seriously restricts the efficient development of coalbed methane. In order to improve the overall development efficiency of coalbed methane fields, how to revitalize low-yield and low-efficiency wells is the main problem facing the development process of coalbed methane. With the deepening understanding of the study area geology, the formation of low-yield and low-efficiency wells has been basically identified. With the advancement of development technology, developers have the ability to retrofit some low-producing and inefficient wells. Low-production and low-efficiency wells are widely distributed. It is difficult to find the criteria for classifying low-producing and low-efficiency wells because of the great differences in geological conditions and reservoir physical properties in different blocks. In addition, the causes of a low-production and low-efficiency well are complex, as the same well is often caused by many reasons, and how to identify the causes of low-production and low-efficiency wells is difficult. In recent decades, developers have studied many methods to retrofit low-production wells, but the retrofit results are not satisfactory. How to choose an economical and efficient reservoir reconstruction method to revitalize low-production and low-efficiency wells is particularly important. This paper starts with the definition of low-production and low-efficiency wells in different blocks, combining an economic evaluation and productivity characteristics to judge whether they are low-production and low-efficiency wells, and defines the distribution of low-production and low-efficiency wells in blocks. The reasons for the formation of low-production and low-efficiency wells are analyzed with the geological characteristics, production dynamic performance, and engineering reconstruction effects. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the current relatively mature low-production and low-efficiency well treatment measures, clearly identifies the advantages and disadvantages of different treatment measures, and takes corresponding stimulation measures for different causes of low-production and low-efficiency wells. The research shows that there are 687 low-production and low-efficiency wells in block A, accounting for 69.4% of the total number of wells, and the low-production and low-efficiency wells account for a relatively large proportion; so, it is necessary to treat them. The main causes of low-production and low-efficiency wells are geology, engineering and drainage systems. The geological reason mainly refers to the low gas production of coalbed methane wells influenced by three factors: resource abundance, faults, and collapse columns. According to the different causes, three treatment measures of large-scale secondary fracturing, temporary plugging, and diversion fracturing and foam fracturing are put forward. The research method in this paper is targeted at different geological conditions so it can be used to guide the treatment of low-yield and low-efficiency wells in other CBM blocks, and it has very important significance for revitalizing the existing low-efficiency CBM assets and improving the development efficiency of CBM. Function inlining is a critical optimization technique used by compilers to improve program performance by replacing a function call with the body of the function and eliminating the overhead associated with function calls. However, the decision of when to inline functions and when not to is a nontrivial problem due to interactions with the rest of the compiler pipeline. Incorrect inlining decisions can cause runtime performance degradation, making this problem a crucial one to study. This paper reviews the different techniques used to optimize function inlining, including simple textual substitution, profile-guided inlining, interprocedural optimization, partial inlining, speculative inlining, and advanced techniques such as indirect call optimizations. Each technique has its strengths, weaknesses, and trade-offs, and ongoing research is exploring ways to overcome these challenges. Optimizing function inlining is a complex problem, and different techniques offer different tradeoffs. Traditional horizontal-axis wind turbines (HAWTs) have limited efficiency in low-wind speed regions. In this paper, an integrated energy system (IES) incorporating vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) is proposed; this IES is located in an oilfield management area, which can utilize the low-wind speed resources more efficiently and improve renewable energy consumption, and it also introduces a demand response model based on thermal inertia (TI), thus smoothing out the volatility caused by the VAWT. Typical output scenarios are obtained through stochastic optimization to deal with wind turbine and photovoltaic output uncertainties, and an optimal scheduling model is proposed to minimize the system operating cost. Finally, a simulation study was conducted in a micro-oilfield management area in Shandong Province, China, to demonstrate the performance of the proposed system. The results show that the IES using a VAWT and TI can increase the renewable energy consumption capacity by 87% over the conventional HAWT system, change the user behavior, increase the economic efficiency by 12%, and achieve the smoothing of load-side fluctuation of electric and thermal loads, peak shaving, and valley filling. A Hybrid Photovoltaic Thermal (PVT) system is one of the most emerging and energy-efficient technologies in the area of solar energy engineering. This review paper provides a comprehensive review of hybrid PVT systems in the context of the history of PVT, general classification, and parameter analysis. Several cell technologies with spectrum analysis are discussed to understand the application's ability and energy efficiency. Hybrid PVT concept, characteristics, and structure analysis is also discussed in this study. An extensive analysis on the classifications of hybrid PVT systems from the recent literature is also presented here. These literatures are identified based on several criteria. In order to provide a complete and energy-efficient technology, an innovative classification of the hybrid PVT system is proposed in this paper. This proposed classification is a combination and upgrade of various existing classifications mentioned in recent research studies. Parameters have a significant and unavoidable impact on the performance and efficiency of the hybrid PVT system. A brief analysis of different parameters and the optimization of the system is conducted after reviewing recent research articles. This analysis provides insights into the impact of parameter variations on the system. A novel parameter model comprising parametric and optimistic analyses is also presented in this paper. It provides a detailed parametric description that significantly affects the performance and efficiency of the hybrid PVT system. The worsening of climate conditions is closely related to the large amount of carbon dioxide produced by human use of fossil fuels. Under the guidance of the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals", with the deepening of the structural reform of the energy supply side, the hybrid energy system coupled with renewable energy has become an important means to solve the energy problem. This paper focuses on the comprehensive evaluation of hybrid energy systems. A complete decision support system is constructed in this study. The system primarily consists of four components: 1) Twelve evaluation criteria from economic, environmental, technological, and socio-political perspectives; 2) A decision information collecting and processing method in uncertain environment combining triangular fuzzy numbers and hesitation fuzzy language term sets; 3) A comprehensive weighting method based on Lagrange optimization theory; 4) Solution ranking based on the fuzzy VIKOR method that considers the risk preferences of decision-makers. Through a case study, it was found that the four most important criteria are investment cost, comprehensive energy efficiency, dynamic payback period and energy supply reliability with weights of 7.21%, 7.17%, 7.17%, and 7.15% respectively. This study employs Bayesian methodologies to explore the influence of player or positional factors in predicting the probability of a shot resulting in a goal, measured by the expected goals (xG) metric. Utilising publicly available data from StatsBomb, Bayesian hierarchical logistic regressions are constructed, analysing approximately 10,000 shots from the English Premier League (for the years of 2003 and 2015) to ascertain whether positional or player-level effects impact xG. The findings reveal positional effects in a basic model that includes only distance to goal and shot angle as predictors, highlighting that strikers and attacking midfielders exhibit a higher likelihood of scoring. However, these effects diminish when more informative predictors are introduced. Nevertheless, even with additional predictors, player-level effects persist, indicating that certain players possess notable positive or negative xG adjustments, influencing their likelihood of scoring a given chance. The study extends its analysis to data from Spain's La Liga (≈20 K shots from 1973 and 2004 to 2020) and Germany's Bundesliga (≈7.5 K shots from 2015), yielding comparable results. In the Hualong-1 Unit (HPR1000), the hydrogen (H2) concentration should be reduced to 15 mL (STP)/kg 24 h before reactor shutdown when the reactor vessel is scheduled to be opened. The traditional degassing method, i.e., letting down the reactor coolant through a chemical and volume control system, will take longer, and its operation is more complicated. To shorten the degassing time and simplify the operation, this paper proposes a pressurizer degassing system design for HPR1000 by applying the pressurizer as thermal degassing equipment. Then, the degassing system optimization analysis is carried out under a full range of steady operating conditions during shutdown, and the optimal size of the flow-limiting orifice plate is obtained. Meanwhile, in order to verify the transient characteristic during the degassing process to ensure operating safety, a dedicated transient degassing program based on an improved non-equilibrium multi-region pressurizer model and a transient degassing model is used to carry out a transient simulation analysis of this process. The transient simulation results show that, under bounding conditions of hot-zero-power operation, during the degassing process, the pressure of the pressurizer decreases by a maximum of 0.038 MPa and the water level increases by 0.016 m above the normal level. As can be seen, both the pressure and water level are within the normal operation band and shall not initiate any safety signal. Meanwhile, the entire transient process lasts approximately 24 min and then enters a stable degassing period. It takes approximately 5.2 h to remove the gas dissolved in the reactor coolant from 35 mL (STP)/kg to 15 mL (STP)/kg. Introduction: The Yellow River Basin is an important national energy base and ecological protection area, and it is of great significance to promote the coordinated development of high-quality development and eco-environmental carrying capacity in the region. Methods: Taking the 73 prefecture-level cities along the Yellow River as the study unit, this paper measures the changes of high-quality development level and eco-environmental carrying capacity of municipalities from 2005 to 2020, using the coupling coordination degree model and fuzzy logic algorithm. Results and discussion: 1) The capital city and its surrounding cities have a high level of high-quality development, with the lower and middle reaches of the Yellow River having higher levels than the upper reaches. From 2005 to 2020, the level of high-quality development showed an upward trend. 2) The eco-environmental carrying capacity of cities in the lower reaches is higher than that in the upper reaches. From 2005 to 2020, the eco-environmental carrying capacity of cities in the lower reaches of the Yellow River increased first and then decreased. 3) The provincial capital cities have a high degree of coupling coordination, with cities in the lower reaches having a higher level than those in the middle and upper reaches. A high degree of coupling coordination reduces spatial differences, but dominated by primary coordination. 4) From 2005 to 2020, the eco-environmental carrying capacity tended to be coordinated with the high-quality development, close to a high level and system optimization. This paper investigates modeling techniques for the mathematical representation of HV (high-voltage) Li-ion batteries to be used in conjunction with battery emulators for the test cell environment. To enable the impact of the battery response to be assessed in conjunction with other electrified systems, battery emulators are used with advanced mathematical models describing the expected voltage output with respect to current load. This paper conducted research into different modeling types: electrochemical, thermal, and electronic equivalent circuit models (EECMs). EECMs were identified as the most suitable to be used in conjunction with emulation techniques. A foundation EECM was created in conjunction with a thermal part to simulate thermal dependency. Hybrid Pulse Power Characterization (HPPC) tests were conducted on an NMC Li-ion cell across a range of temperatures from −20 °C to 25 °C. Using parameter optimization techniques, the HPPC test data were used to identify the resistance, capacitance, and the open-circuit voltage of the cell across a range of state of charge bounds and across a temperature range of 0 °C to 25 °C. The foundation model was assessed using identified parameters on two current profiles derived from drive cycles across a temperature range of 0 °C to 10 °C. As nearshore aquaculture spaces become saturated, the development of fisheries aquaculture for deep sea has become an inevitable trend. This paper proposes an innovative deep-sea aquaculture platform that incorporates a vessel-shaped main structure and a single-point mooring system. The potential flow theory and the Morison equation are utilized to calculate the hydrodynamic loads on the main structure and the netting and mooring systems, respectively. The deformation and force of the netting in current are simulated, and the accuracy of the analytical methods used is validated based on experimental results. The influences of the netting system on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the platform are analyzed. Optimization on the single-point mooring system is conducted under static and dynamic conditions, considering the influences of various mooring parameters, including mooring line length, buoyancy of buoys, and mass of sinkers. The patterns of changes in motion response, mooring line tension, and minimum touchdown length under different mooring parameters are calculated and analyzed. The results indicate that changes in mooring line length have minimal impact on the dynamic response of the platform and mooring system. The addition of appropriate buoys or sinkers can reduce the motion response of the platform and the tension in the mooring lines. In recent years, high-resolution traffic signal event data has provided valuable insights into understanding and managing congestion at signalized intersections. While existing applications primarily employ automated traffic signal performance monitoring (ATSPM) systems as postanalysis tools for identifying everyday congestion causes, traffic engineers are increasingly overwhelmed by the number of ATSPM-capable intersections. The workload increases extensively as the number of ATSPM-capable intersections rises mainly due to the necessity of manually checking and generating performance figures. Nonetheless, an advanced ATSPM system capable of automatically detecting time-of-day congestion bottlenecks among multiple intersections and suggesting "top intersections of interest" would significantly aid traffic managers in monitoring historical congestion and preventing future congestion occurrences. This paper introduces an efficient graphical automated congestion ranking method for capable intersections, leveraging high-resolution traffic signal event data as the basis for automated congestion ranking. To accomplish these objectives, we build upon ATSPM concepts by continuously generating ATSPM measures of effectiveness (MOEs). Utilizing continuously generated ATSPM performance measures in Frisco, Texas, over several months, we devise an efficient graphical method for ranking hourly congestion levels among the studied ATSPM-capable intersections. All intersections are assessed and ranked using a multiobjective optimization technique, the Pareto front method. The points on the Pareto front represent dominating intersections with at least one inferior performance measurement, warranting prioritized improvement. The dominating points identified from the test dataset were validated and further explained using Purdue coordination diagrams (PCD), along with another individual dataset--Wejo-connected vehicle data. The purpose of this paper is to select the optimal section of different cross-sectional multi-cell hexagonal tubes under axial dynamic loads in three categories of internal edge thicknesses. The explicit non-linear FE code LS-DYNA is employed for numerical simulation. The results of crashworthiness performance criteria are obtained for various alternatives of configurations. TOPSIS method introduces the rank of different sections. The most effective section in the three categories is selected. In the continuation of the research, the straight inner sides of small hexagons were replaced with semi-elliptic and semicircle, but with respect to the symmetry of the larger hexagon diameter and equal perimeter size in order to evaluate the crashworthiness criteria in the selected section. The power communication system provides powerful technical support for realizing the intelligent operation and information management of the power grid and improving the operation efficiency and power supply quality of the power grid. Quantum key distribution (QKD) is considered one of the most promising technologies for commercialization. QKD uses a single photon to encrypt data to produce a more secure and reliable password. This paper intends to study the hierarchical, centralized control architecture of power dispatching based on quantum essential supply (QKD). The performance indexes of MDI-QKD under symmetric and asymmetric conditions were studied by local optimization. The optimal key formation rate of the algorithm is analyzed. From the perspective of quantum critical utilization, a quantum key utilization scheme for grid backbone dispatching service is proposed. The dynamic adjustment test of multi-node time slot and service key update rate is carried out. Experiments show that the MDI scheme can effectively improve the effectiveness of a multi-node QKD system. Thus, the security of data transmission of the core business of power dispatching data networks can be ensured to the greatest extent. AMDI can effectively reduce the transmission timeout of low-priority data streams because the delay of high-priority data streams reaches the proportion. To address the issue of multiobjective control in multienergy systems with diverse operational objectives, a two-stage optimization framework based on expected point tolerance has been proposed in this paper. In the first stage, a single objective function is used for optimization control to obtain the expected point of the multiobjective optimization problem. Then, in the second stage, by defining the allowable deviation between each optimization objective and the expected point, the original multiobjective optimization problem is transformed into a single objective optimization problem solution with tolerance measurement. Finally, in the simulation scene of a multienergy system, it is demonstrated that compared with the optimal results under each single objective method, the proposed method increases power line loss, maximum voltage deviation, new energy consumption, and economy by 2.22, 2.30, 1.02, and 2.45 times, respectively. Compared with the suboptimal results, the proposed method reduces power line loss by 22.26, 1.74, 1.09, and 0.97 times, respectively. Combining the shape of the Pareto frontier, it is demonstrated that the proposed method can comprehensively consider the needs of multiple power optimization objectives for forming a more reasonable and effective system optimization scheduling and also provide a new approach for solving multiobjective optimization problems. This paper presents a performance analysis and optimization of heat exchanger fin shapes in a thermoelectric power generation system for ship waste heat recovery. It proposes a new curved fin design aimed at enhancing heat transfer efficiency and maximizing thermoelectric power generation capacity. Numerical analysis and response surface methodology (RSM) focused on 225 parameters to identify the optimal fin shape. Computational analysis using CFX was conducted on the thermoelectric module system with curved fins. The methodology was verified by comparing and analyzing CFD and PIV experimental results for a curved fin. This paper optimizes the assignment of shared automated vehicles under users' uncertain departure times. Automated vehicles can drive themselves, so no staff are needed to relocate vehicles in the one-way carsharing system. To optimize fleet placement and use, a twophase solution method was established. Phase 1 strategically distributes vehicles across stations using a system optimization approach, while Phase 2 tracks vehicle movements via an agent-based simulation model. Phase 1 solutions serve as inputs to Phase 2 simulations. Using a fleet size of roughly 10,000 vehicles, case study applications were run across the Austin, Texas region's six-county network. In the base case setting, results suggest that system profits are optimized when vehicle rental is priced at $1.28=km ($0.8=mi). The number of proactive vehicle relocations falls 9.8% if the relocation operation cost rises from $0.096=km ($0.06=mi) to $0.32=km ($0.2=mi). Average per-trip profit is $10.60 when using high-cost vehicles, and $11.60 when using low-cost vehicles. Results from a 3-h simulation show an average person-trip length of 25 km (15.6 mi), with 29.6 min of average driving time. When a 24-h day was simulated, the vehicle-occupied time and vehicle-distance traveled were 4 h and 200 km (125 mi) per vehicle-day, respectively. This paper aims to propose a Novel Condition-based maintenance (CBM) decision aid model for optimising the maintenance of complex multi-component systems. As the degradation level of each component is assumed to be independent and stochastic, it follows a specific probability distribution determined from historical data of experimental observations and inspection. The main objective is to optimise the total cost for providing maintenance actions and reducing the excess of spare parts usage. The decision support model consists of determining measurements on components with the aim of estimating the instant of time of removing predictively one or a group of components before they fail. The measurement model includes the mean residual lifetime (MRL) and some extensions developed for this purpose. For demonstrating the pertinency of the proposed model, we use a preventive maintenance strategy for one-component systems and a grouping/opportunistic maintenance for multi-component systems. Besides, a numerical comparative study performing these measurements is carried out using several examples and a case study from Electric energy distribution systems. The solution is illustrated as a decision-making optimal model for optimising the maintenance operations' costs and the total number of spare parts.
