Colourimetric quantification of analytes on paper analytical devices (PADs) using smartphones has been gaining popularity. However, the accuracy of these devices is prone to be affected by different environmental conditions, including the intensity and colour of the ambient light. This work explains in depth the design and fabrication of a handheld colourimeter whose accuracy is unaffected by ambient light conditions using the commercially available spectral sensor AS7262. The device works on the principle of light reflection from the sample and can quantify as well as display the concentration of the analyte on an organic light-emitting-diode (OLED) display. The data acquisition, processing, and transmission of the data to a smartphone using Bluetooth in less than 7 seconds is also a salient feature. The accuracy of the device was validated by testing different concentrations of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and total protein on PADs explicitly developed for this study. The colourimeter exhibited linearity with R² values of 0.98 for ALP and 0.97 for total protein. The LOD and LOQ obtained for ALP and total protein are 1.1, 3.89 U/L and 0.037, 0.12 g/dL, respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) calculated was 0.006 for ALP and 0.004 for total protein. The validation of the colourimeter was carried out with the clinical samples to obtain a relative error of less than 10 % for both the analytes. Monitoring and controlling of transmission lines become easier in real time with synchrophasor measurements technology. Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) provide the time-stamped synchrophasor data of the system buses and transmission lines with a high reporting rate. In this paper, a mathematical model is implemented that allows the simulation of the characteristics of the spread of transmission line switching with load variations. In the model, the transmission lines are divided into three parts defined as susceptible, infected and recovered transmission lines inspired from epidemic model. In this paper, Reliability Test System (RTS − 1979) is divided into three zones to simulate the line switching spread behaviour with load variation for reliability and vulnerability analysis of the synchrophasor smart grid network. The anomaly exists with synchrophasor measuring devices due to cyber intrusion in communication network or failure of devices makes the system observable with the characterization of vulnerable behaviour of transmission lines. This paper discusses the design and implementation of a portable IoT station. Communication and data synchronization issues in several installations are addressed here, making possible a detailed analysis of the entire system during its operation. The system operator requires a synchronized data stream, combining multiple communication protocols into one single time stamp. The hardware selected for the portable IoT station complies with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) industrial standards. A short discussion regarding interface customization shows how easily the hardware can be modified so that it is integrated with almost any system. A programmable logic controller enables the Node-RED to be utilized. This open-source middleware defines operations for each global variable nominated in the Modbus register. Two applications are presented and discussed in this paper; each application has a distinct methodology utilized to publish and visualize the acquired data. The portable IoT station is highly customizable, consisting of a modular structure and providing the best platform for future research and development of dedicated algorithms. With the continuous progress of the society, Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICVs) in Internet of Vehicles (IoVs) continuously generate a large amount of data. Considering the data security at the vehicle node end, the introduction of federated learning(FL) into the Internet of Vehicles may be an effective solution. However, there are some challenges in applying existing federated learning frameworks directly to IoVs. For example, the participation of malicious nodes in model training can cause federated model poisoning, and the non-IID data generated at the vehicle side can slow down the convergence speed of FL. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel federated learning framework based on trust evaluation. The trust evaluation module of this framework evaluates the trust of vehicle nodes from three levels: the success rate of data transmission, the reliability and real-time performance of the network, and the historical behaviors of the nodes to derive the total trust value of the vehicle nodes in order to select nodes with high trust to participate in model training. The model training module of the framework takes into account the problem of slow model convergence caused by the non-IID nature of the training data at the vehicle node side, which is mitigated with the aid of the Federated Adaptive Weighting algorithm (FedAdp). Simulation results on MNIST and Fashion-MNIST datasets demonstrate that the framework proposed in this paper can achieve 85%-90% test accuracy with training data in IID and non-IID settings and two model attack settings. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is an interactive telecommunication technology that suggests shared, cooperative, and quality transactions in the form of communications over the internet. VoIP normally differs from traditional and conventional circuit-based networks in the form of a low rate because all the communication takes place through the internet. The user has to pay only for an internet connection. Real-time voice data transmission is very difficult when compared with ordinary text data transmission. A main challenge in telecom engineering is maintaining quality. The VoIP transmission faces a lot of inconvenience. It suffers from packet loss, low quality, jitter, delay, and on-time delivery. This paper proposes an algorithm for the conversion of raster data to hexagonal DGGSs in the GPU by redevising the encoding and decoding mechanisms. The researchers first designed a data structure based on rhombic tiles to convert the hexagonal DGGS to a texture format acceptable for GPUs, thus avoiding the irregularity of the hexagonal DGGS. Then, the encoding and decoding methods of the tile data based on space-filling curves were designed, respectively, so as to reduce the amount of data transmission from the CPU to the GPU. Finally, the researchers improved the algorithmic efficiency through thread design. To validate the above design, raster integration experiments were conducted based on the global Aster 30 m digital elevation dataDEM, and the experimental results showed that the raster integration accuracy of this algorithms was around 1 m, while its efficiency could be improved to more than 600 times that of the algorithm for integrating the raster data to the hexagonal DGGS data, executed in the CPU. Therefore, the researchers believe that this study will provide a feasible method for the efficient and stable integration of massive raster data based on a hexagonal grid, which may well support the organization of massive raster data in the field of GIS. As blockchain technology advances, cross-chain interoperability has become a crucial requirement for achieving seamless interaction among multiple chains. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a scholarly approach to the development of a cross-chain-secure transmission technique, incorporating the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and the SM algorithm, which is based on trusted roots. This research paper elaborates on the design and implementation of the cross-chain-secure transmission technique based on TPM and the SM algorithm, emphasizing the academic rigor necessary for addressing the security requirements of cross-chain interactions. The research shows that compared with the previous method, the throughput of production capacity is not significantly different from that before and after adding the network delay, and the success rate of preventing attacks is increased by 46.9% by simulating related attacks. With the rapid development of wireless technology and Mobile communication technology worldwide, Mobile Learning represents a new learning trend in the field of higher education, and has gradually become the development trend and research hotspot of independent learning and lifelong learning. Based on modern wireless network mobile communication terminal technology, this paper proposes a Granott model-driven mobile learning system. Firstly, the Granott model is studied and analyzed, and the ubiquitous computing with physical integration and spontaneous interoperation is used to control the Android mobile terminal, which greatly improves the interactivity of M-Learning. Then JSON is selected to optimize the data transmission format in Ajax, and j Query is used to parse JSON data. Ajax + JSON + j Query can shield the complexity of DOM parsing XML files, greatly shorten the data transmission time and improve the efficiency of Granott model. Finally, the Fast kernel density estimation (Fast KDE) algorithm is introduced to compress the data transmitted by Ajax + JSON + j Query, so as to obtain a reasonable number of training samples. Through experiments and relevant data analysis, the proposed mobile learning system based on modern wireless network mobile communication terminal technology, optimized by JSON and Fast KDE algorithm, driven by Granott model, can efficiently complete the learning task, and improve the ubiquity, interactivity, timeliness of mobile learning. Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) is widely used. In practical engineering applications, the transmitter and receiver of a stable and reliable WPT system need to establish not only a power transmission channel but also a data transmission channel to realize closed-loop control and information interaction. In this paper, a novel simultaneous wireless power and data transfer system based on a series–parallel (SP) resonant network is proposed. The system integrates an SP higher-order resonant network with series carrier injection, which makes power transmission and data transmission share a magnetic coupling channel. The isolation between power and data is realized by exploiting the frequency characteristics of the compensation network, thus realizing efficient power transmission and data transmission. In this paper, accurate and detailed mathematical modeling of the system is conducted, and the gain characteristics of the power transmission channel and the data transmission channel are demonstrated. Meanwhile, the mutual interference between the two channels is analyzed, and a feasible and effective parameter design method is developed. Finally, an experimental prototype with an output power of 16 W and a backward data rate of 100 Kbps is constructed to verify the feasibility of the proposed system and the correctness of the parameter design. As an open network architecture, Wireless Computing Power Networks (WCPN) pose new challenges for achieving efficient and secure resource management in networks, because of issues such as insecure communication channels and untrusted device terminals. Blockchain, as a shared, immutable distributed ledger, provides a secure resource management solution for WCPN. However, integrating blockchain into WCPN faces challenges like device heterogeneity, monitoring communication states, and dynamic network nature. Whereas Digital Twins (DT) can accurately maintain digital models of physical entities through real-time data updates and self-learning, enabling continuous optimization of WCPN, improving synchronization performance, ensuring real-time accuracy, and supporting smooth operation of WCPN services. In this paper, we propose a DT for blockchain-empowered WCPN architecture that guarantees real-time data transmission between physical entities and digital models. We adopt an enumeration-based optimal placement algorithm (EOPA) and an improved simulated annealing-based near-optimal placement algorithm (ISAPA) to achieve minimum average DT synchronization latency under the constraint of DT error. This paper studies the problem of scheduling control data transmissions from embedded processors to physical systems. For this problem, we propose novel state feedback and output feedback control architectures that are predicated on energy function-based and norm-free event-triggering conditions, where the embedded processor broadcasts a sampled data of its control signal value through a zero-order-hold operator to the physical system when the left side of the event-triggering condition equals to its right side. In this context, the energy function-based feature means that the right sides of the proposed event-triggering conditions involve an energy function as well as its time-derivative to make the selection of these right sides user-adjustable. Furthermore, the norm-free feature means that the left sides of the proposed event-triggering conditions do not depend on signal norms to allow for better control data transmission reduction. System-theoretical analyses of our event-triggered state feedback and output feedback control architectures are shown using the same energy functions and their time-derivatives used in the proposed event-triggering conditions, where illustrative numerical examples are also presented to demonstrate the efficacy of our contributions. The expected development of the future generation of wireless communications systems such as 6G aims to achieve an ultrareliable and low-latency communications (URLLCs) while maximizing the data rates. These requirements push research into developing new advanced technologies. To this end, massive multiple input multiple output (MMIMO) is introduced as a promising transmission approach to fulfill these requirements. However, maximizing the downlink-achievable sum rate (DASR) in MMIMO with a frequency division duplex (FDD) transmission mode and limited coherence time (LCT) is very challenging. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a DASR maximization approach using a feasible power allocation optimization method. The proposed approach is based on smartly allocating the total transmit power between the data transmission and training sequence transmission for channel estimation. This can be achieved by allocating more energy to the training signal than the data transmission during the channel estimation process to improve the quality of channel estimation without compromising more training sequence length, thus maximizing the DASR. Additionally, the theory of random matrix approach is exploited to derive an asymptotic closed-form expression for the DASR with a regularized zero-forcing precoder (RZFP), which allows the power optimization process to be achieved without the need for computationally complex Monte Carlo simulations. The results provided in this paper indicate that a considerable enhancement in the DASR performance is achieved using the proposed power allocation method in comparison with the conventional uniform power allocation method. When traditional EEG signals are collected based on the Nyquist theorem, long-time recordings of EEG signals will produce a large amount of data. At the same time, limited bandwidth, end-to-end delay, and memory space will bring great pressure on the effective transmission of data. The birth of compressed sensing alleviates this transmission pressure. However, using an iterative compressed sensing reconstruction algorithm for EEG signal reconstruction faces complex calculation problems and slow data processing speed, limiting the application of compressed sensing in EEG signal rapid monitoring systems. As such, this paper presents a non-iterative and fast algorithm for reconstructing EEG signals using compressed sensing and deep learning techniques. This algorithm uses the improved residual network model, extracts the feature information of the EEG signal by one-dimensional dilated convolution, directly learns the nonlinear mapping relationship between the measured value and the original signal, and can quickly and accurately reconstruct the EEG signal. The method proposed in this paper has been verified by simulation on the open BCI contest dataset. Overall, it is proved that the proposed method has higher reconstruction accuracy and faster reconstruction speed than the traditional CS reconstruction algorithm and the existing deep learning reconstruction algorithm. Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication has played a pivotal role in modern intelligent transportation systems, enabling seamless information exchange among vehicles to enhance road safety, traffic efficiency, and overall driving experience. However, the secure transmission of sensitive data between vehicles remains a critical concern due to potential security threats and vulnerabilities. This research focused on investigating the security protocols that have been employed in vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems. A comprehensive review and analysis of relevant literature and research papers was conducted to gather information on existing V2V communication security protocols and techniques. The analysis encompassed key areas, including authentication mechanisms, encryption algorithms, key management protocols, and intrusion detection systems specifically applicable to V2V communication networks. Within the context of real-world V2V environments, this study delved into the challenges and limitations associated with implementing these protocols. The research aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the current V2V communication security protocols. The automatic collection of power grid situation information, along with real-time multimedia interaction between the front and back ends during the accident handling process, has generated a massive amount of power grid data. While wireless communication offers a convenient channel for grid terminal access and data transmission, it is important to note that the bandwidth of wireless communication is limited. Additionally, the broadcast nature of wireless transmission raises concerns about the potential for unauthorized eavesdropping during data transmission. To address these challenges and achieve reliable, secure, and real-time transmission of power grid data, an intelligent security transmission strategy with sensor-transmission-computing linkage is proposed in this paper. The primary objective of this strategy is to maximize the confidentiality capacity of the system. To tackle this, an optimization problem is formulated, taking into consideration interruption probability and interception probability as constraints. To efficiently solve this optimization problem, a low-complexity algorithm rooted in deep reinforcement learning is designed, which aims to derive a suboptimal solution for the problem at hand. Ultimately, through simulation results, the validity of the proposed strategy in guaranteed communication security, stability, and timeliness is substantiated. The rapid development of mobile Internet has promoted the rapid rise of cloud computing technology. Mobile terminal devices have greatly expanded the service capacity of mobile terminals by migrating complex computing tasks to run in the cloud. However, in the process of data exchange between mobile terminals and cloud computing centers, on the one hand, it consumes the limited power of mobile terminals, and on the other hand, it results in longer communication time, which negatively affects user QoE. Mobile cloud can effectively improve user QoE by shortening the data transmission distance, reducing the power consumption, and shortening the communication time at the same time. In this paper, we utilize the property that genetic algorithm can perform global search seeking the global optimal solution and construct a dynamic task scheduling model by combining the device-cloud link. The task scheduling model based on genetic algorithm and random scheduling algorithm is compared through comparison experiments, which show that the assignment time of the task scheduling model based on genetic algorithm is shortened by 11.82% to 48.51% and the energy consumption is reduced by 22.28% to 47.52% under different load conditions. Abstract-Achieving high solution efficiency on conventional sequential computation architecture is a challenging task due to penetration of multiple renewable energy sources (RESs). This challenge has become the bottleneck for the application in real-time grid operation, grid planning and analysis of the large-scale and complicated modern power system. Therefore, this paper proposes a parallel multi-GPU and multi-process Fast Decoupled (FD) method to accelerate the power flow calculation, reducing the system responsive time and guaranteeing real-time performance on a large-scale modern power system. In this paper, two hierarchy architecture, task parallelism and data parallelism, are designed to optimize the FD solver parallelization. Moreover, the GPUDirect technology is employed to enhance efficiency of data transmission and drastically reduce copy overhead. A continuing need to improve health, safety and wellbeing in construction has led to multiple research projects and technological innovations. One such innovation is the Safety Risk Library: a repository of data that functions in BIM environments to assist designers and contractors in identifying health and safety risk scenarios and offer suitable validated treatments to mitigate their effects. This paper reports on the deployment of this library in several construction projects across the United Kingdom and reviews expert and practitioner opinions of such digital solutions for improving health and safety in the future. This paper makes several contributions. The description of an effective process for knowledge base creation, including the data extraction workflow, the anonymization of data and the definition of communication channels aligned to project working practices, is instructive for innovation developers, providing informative guidance through lessons learned. The discussion of expert and practitioner opinions of the functional knowledge base to improve health and safety performance could inform further technological developments in the field and provide empirical insights for developers. The emergence of Internet of Things (IoT) technology brings tremendous benefits to people's lives and work. However, the integration of IoT devices into diverse systems has underscored the pressing issue of security. Safeguarding data confidentiality in IoT systems necessitates the implementation of strong security measures, including authentication, encryption and access control mechanisms. When effectively employed, these measures pave the way for the development of an efficient and secure IoT system, offering substantial benefits to end-users. This paper introduces a novel authentication and access control solution tailored for IoT edge devices. Our suggested approach is applicable to the edge network comprising numerous nodes, enabling the transmission of extensive data within constrained bandwidth based on lightweight symmetric cryptography since it uses Chacha20 algorithm to establishing session key, and maintaining the protocol of identity management and access control more precisely through HoBAC and blockchain technology. We have successfully analyzed the protocol correctness using the scyther tool. Beyond-5G (B5G) technology plays a pivotal role in the next generation of communication infrastructure to support the future Society 5.0, a concept introduced in the 5th Basic Plan for Science and Technology by the Japanese Cabinet to define the long-term growth strategy for reconciling economic development with the resolution of social issues through the promotion of science and technologies. Free-space laser communication is a key element in boosting the data transmission capabilities required for B5G applications. The NICT will complete in 2024 the first fully functional prototypes of a series of miniaturized laser-communication terminals for multiple platforms. These terminals are designed to adapt to a wide range of requirements to address scenarios where laser communications can offer a competitive, enhanced solution compared to existing technologies. This paper provides an overview of these terminals' capabilities and the plans for their functional validation, as well as preliminary data from the first full-system tests. A number of innovations integrated into the terminals are introduced, such as the manufacture of the smallest miniaturized EDFA with integrated HPA and LNA and full space qualification to date, the first-ever integration of a beam-divergence control system in a practical communication terminal, the development of the most compact Tbit/s-class modem prototype documented in the literature, and the smallest gimbal design integrated in a lasercom terminal. The urban railway requires that the on-board equipment at both ends of the train be able to perform head-to-tail communication, support automatic turn-back behind the station and automatically change ends in the station. This paper introduces in detail the head-to-tail communication method and technology based on MVB bus, which has been successfully applied to the urban railway on-board equipment. After laboratory testing and inspection, the head-to-tail communication method and technology proposed in this paper can achieve high safety and high reliability in data communication between the on-board equipment at the head and tail of the train, which is an important basic technology for urban railway trains to realize automatic turn-back behind the station and automatic end change in the station. This paper addresses the control task of a wireless power transfer (WPT) charger designed for electric vehicles (EVs). The challenge is to maintain a constant battery charging current when the WPT is controlled on the ground side. Indeed, the intermittent latency involved in the wireless data communication between the ground and vehicle sides leads to system instability. To overcome this issue, a new control approach has been proposed in this paper. The proposed technique ensures indirect control of the battery charging current through control of the current on the ground side. The control technique relies on an adaptive hill-climbing algorithm in conjunction with a PI-based controller. The adaptive parameter is adjusted online, during the operation of the charger, only when a new measure of the battery charging current is received on the primary side. This makes it possible to avoid the need for real-time wireless data communication. It should be noted that this aspect is crucial in ensuring the controller's robustness and stability of the system regardless of potential delays in wireless communication and large misalignments between the coils. The validity of the proposed control technique has been confirmed through simulation. In addition, experimental validation, using a laboratory test bed, demonstrated satisfactory results. Maritime area detection technology applies equipment such as high-orbit satellites, gateway ships and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to detection. In this scenario, real-time uploading and analysis of maritime data is crucial. In the existing scenario, UAV data are gathered to the gateway ship and uploaded to the shore-based cloud via the high-orbit satellite, because the communication distance of the high-orbit satellite is far, and when the uploaded data volume is large or the access to the equipment increases, the propagation delay of the uploading of the data from the gateway ship to the satellite and the forwarding of the data from the satellite to the shore-based cloud is longer, and the processing delay of the shore-based cloud is increased, and the efficiency of the data transmission and communication will be affected as well. Aiming at the problem of increasing delay caused by communication limitations in maritime area detection, this paper proposes a maritime area detection scheme based on cloud-side collaboration. The scheme solves the problem of communication limitation from the following two aspects. First, the edge computing nodes are deployed on the ship side of the gateway, and the optimal offloading ratio is sought through game theory to offload a part of the tasks from the center cloud to the edge cloud for processing, which improves the efficiency of processing data and thus reduces the data transmission latency and data processing delay. Secondly, low-orbit (LEO) satellites are introduced to provide communication services, because low-orbit satellites have low orbital altitude and short propagation delay, which can transmit the data at the gateway ship to the shore-based cloud more quickly and improve the data transmission efficiency. Finally, it is also verified by designing experiments that the proposed scheme adopts the optimal offloading ratio and has a lower total delay than the original scheme, thus proving the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. In the digital age, data transmission has become a key component of globalization and international cooperation. However, it faces several challenges in protecting the privacy and security of data, such as the risk of information disclosure on third-party platforms. Moreover, there are few solutions for personal data protection in cross-border transmission scenarios due to the difficulty of handling sensitive information between different countries and regions. In this paper, we propose an approach, personal data protection based on homomorphic encryption (PDPHE), to creatively apply the privacy computing technology homomorphic encryption (HE) to cross-border personal data protection. Specifically, PDPHE reconstructs the classical full homomorphic encryption (FHE) algorithm, DGHV, by adding support for multi-bit encryption and security level classification to ensure consistency with current data protection regulations. Then, PDPHE applies the reconstructed algorithm to the novel cross-border data protection scenario. To evaluate PDPHE in actual cross-border data transfer scenarios, we construct a prototype model based on PDPHE and manually construct a data corpus called PDPBench. Our evaluation results on PDPBench demonstrate that PDPHE cannot only effectively solve privacy protection issues in cross-border data transmission but also promote international data exchange and cooperation, bringing significant improvements for personal data protection during cross-border data sharing. Cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) is one of the main features of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), which uses connectivity to improve the efficiency of adaptive cruise control (ACC). The addition of reliable communication systems to ACC reduces fuel consumption, maximizes road capacity, and ensures traffic safety. However, the performance, stability, and safety of CACC could be affected by the transmission of outdated data caused by communication delays. This paper proposes a Lyapunov-based nonlinear controller to mitigate the impact of time-varying delays in the communication channel of CACC. This paper uses Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals in the stability analysis to ensure semi-global uniformly ultimately bounded tracking. The power communication system provides powerful technical support for realizing the intelligent operation and information management of the power grid and improving the operation efficiency and power supply quality of the power grid. Quantum key distribution (QKD) is considered one of the most promising technologies for commercialization. QKD uses a single photon to encrypt data to produce a more secure and reliable password. This paper intends to study the hierarchical, centralized control architecture of power dispatching based on quantum essential supply (QKD). The performance indexes of MDI-QKD under symmetric and asymmetric conditions were studied by local optimization. The optimal key formation rate of the algorithm is analyzed. From the perspective of quantum critical utilization, a quantum key utilization scheme for grid backbone dispatching service is proposed. The dynamic adjustment test of multi-node time slot and service key update rate is carried out. Experiments show that the MDI scheme can effectively improve the effectiveness of a multi-node QKD system. Thus, the security of data transmission of the core business of power dispatching data networks can be ensured to the greatest extent. AMDI can effectively reduce the transmission timeout of low-priority data streams because the delay of high-priority data streams reaches the proportion. This paper is dedicated to an opposite problem: it explores the information theory and communication engineering methods that have counterparts in the data transmission process by way of DNA structures and neural fibers. Considering the requirements of modern multimedia, transmission methods chosen by nature may be different, suboptimal, or even far from optimal. However, nature is known for rational resource usage, so its methods have a significant advantage: they are proven to be sustainable. 3D modeling and reconstruction are critical to creating immersive XR experiences, providing realistic virtual environments, objects, and interactions that increase user engagement and enable new forms of content manipulation. Today, 3D data can be easily captured using off-the-shelf, specialized headsets; very often, these tools provide real-time, albeit low-resolution, integration of continuously captured depth maps. This approach is generally suitable for basic AR and MR applications, where users can easily direct their attention to points of interest and benefit from a fully user-centric perspective. However, it proves to be less effective in more complex scenarios such as multi-user telepresence or telerobotics, where real-time transmission of local surroundings to remote users is essential. Two primary questions emerge: (i) what strategies are available for achieving real-time 3D reconstruction in such systems? and (ii) how can the effectiveness of real-time 3D reconstruction methods be assessed? This paper explores various approaches to the challenge of live 3D reconstruction from typical point cloud data. It first introduces some common data flow patterns that characterize virtual reality applications and shows that achieving high-speed data transmission and efficient data compression is critical to maintaining visual continuity and ensuring a satisfactory user experience. This paper focuses on the characterization of radio propagation, and data communication in a marine environment. More specifically, we consider signal propagation when three different sub-gigahertz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) bands, i.e., 169 MHz, 434 MHz, and 868 MHz, are used. The main focus of the paper is to evaluate the path loss (PL), i.e., the power loss that a propagation radio wave would experience when communication occurs between a sail boat and a buoy. We describe the measurement results obtained performing three different radio power measurement campaigns, at the three different aforementioned ISM sub-gigahertz bands. We also want to correlate the radio propagation quality with the weather conditions present in the measurement areas. The obtained results show that higher distances are achieved by transmitting at lower frequencies, i.e., 169 MHz, and, on average, the propagation is directly dependent from the dew point index. With the continuous development of science and technology, UAV technology has been widely used in various fields. As an essential part, light and small UAV platforms have the advantages of being small, lightweight, and easy to operate and thus have been widely used in aerial photography, monitoring, rescue, and other fields. However, the traditional data transmission method can no longer meet the demand for the data transmission speed and stability of small and light UAV platforms. Wireless optical communication has the advantages of being high-speed and license-free, as well as having a large bandwidth strong anti-interference ability, and good confidentiality. Therefore, this paper aims to study high-speed data transmission technology for light and small UAV platforms to improve their transmission speed and stability. In this paper, the characteristics and advantages of UAV airborne laser communication are first elaborated to illustrate the advancements and importance of data transmission technology based on light and small UAV platforms. Then, the composition of a UAV airborne laser communication system is clarified to illustrate the feasibility of conducting airborne laser communication research. Then, the current domestic and international research status of people on light and small UAV airborne laser communication high-speed data transmission systems is reviewed, and its key technical features are analyzed. The 8b/10b IBM encoding scheme is used in a plethora of communication technologies, including USB, Gigabit Ethernet, and Serial ATA. We propose two primitive-based structural designs of an 8b/10b encoder and two of an 8b/10b decoder, all targeted at modern AMD FPGA architectures. Our aim is to reduce the amount of resources used for the implementations. We compare our designs with implementations resulting from behavioral models as well as with state-of-the-art solutions from the literature. The implementation results show that our solutions provide the lowest resource utilization with comparable maximum operating frequency and power consumption. The proposed structural designs are suitable for resource-constrained data communication protocol implementations that employ the IBM 8b/10b encoding scheme. This paper presents the design and implementation of an ISO-compliant ocean profiling observation systemfor wave-powered vertical profiler. This systemaims to provide a comprehensive, scalable, and interoperable solution for high- resolution, real-time oceanic observation. As a part of this system, we introduce a wave-powered vertical profiler, known as "Wave Master," designed to offer enhanced stability and reliability for long-term oceanic data collection. The core of the paper focuses on the Ocean Profiling Observation Complex Virtual Instrument (OPO-CVI), a comprehensive system developed in alignment with ISO 21851 standard. OPO-CVI seamlessly integrates data collection, transmission, storage, and visualization. Specifically, OPO-CVI addresses the challenges of information isolation, system rigidity, and lack of modularity in traditional ocean profiling methods by standardizing data formats and transmission protocols, allowing for seamless integration of new observation elements, and employing a modular architecture for enhanced scalability and reusability. The fast advance and evolution of technology in Internet of Things (IoT) is a double-edged sword, striking with new performant solutions and backfiring with a lot of unanswered questions. Due to cheap manufacturing costs and large-scale production, sensors, actuators and even microcontrollers are not designed with security on the first place. Also, the IoT market is a new one and that means that it is still unregulated and there isn’t a well-defined set of standards to control and manage better these problems. The IoT ascent has impacted many industries, but probably the most changes were made to the Supply Chain Management (SCM) industry. The forementioned question of cheap devices that need to be manufactured with a minimum of costs, very fast and ready to be deployed, is digging a big security hole in this kind of ecosystems. This paper aims to discuss the challenges involved in hardening de security in embedded devices, protecting the data and the communication channels between an IoT node and an IoT gateway and finally, assuring the persistence of data and its security after is stored. All these matters are addressed with privacy and security in design. Because SCM is a multiparty ecosystem that involves many different actors each with its tasks and data handling components, it is important to assure the fact that they will not interfere, tamper, or profit in a bad manner of each other. As mobile communications transform, 5G technology can potentially change many industries and businesses. The change will have a great influence across many fields, such as the automotive, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. This paper aims to review the existing applications of blockchain technology in providing 5G network security and identify new possibilities for such security solutions. We consider different aspects of blockchain in 5G, particularly data transmission, access control, and applications including vertical industry-oriented applications and specific solutions supporting such sectors of economic activity. The paper briefly describes modern technologies in 5G networks and introduces blockchain's properties and different aspects of using such technology in practical applications. It also presents access control management with blockchain applied in 5G and related problems, reviews other blockchain-enforced network technologies, and shows how blockchain can help in services dedicated to vertical industries. Finally, it presents our vision of new blockchain applications in modern 5G networks and beyond. The new-generation networks use two fundamental technologies, slicing and virtualization, and attackers attempt to execute new types of attacks on them. In the paper, we discuss one of the possible scenarios exhibiting the shortcomings of the slicing technology architecture. We propose using blockchain technology to create new slices and to connect new or existing subscribers to slices in the 5G core network. This paper investigates the integration of relay-assisted Internet of Things (IoT) systems, focusing on the use of multiple relays to enhance the system performance. The central metric of interest in this study is system outage probability, evaluated in terms of latency. Our research provides a comprehensive analysis of system outage probability, considering different relay selection criteria to optimize the system's transmission performance. Three relay selection strategies are employed to enhance the system transmission performance. Specifically, the first strategy, optimal relay selection, aims to identify the relay that minimizes the latency and maximizes the data transmission reliability. The second approach, partial relay selection, focuses on selecting a subset of relays strategically to balance the system resources and achieve the latency reduction. The third strategy, random relay selection, explores the potential of opportunistic relay selection without prior knowledge. Through a rigorous investigation, our paper evaluates the impact of these relay selection criteria on the performance of relay-assisted edge computing systems. By assessing the system outage probability in relation to latency, we provide valuable insights into the trade-offs and advantages associated with each selection strategy. Our findings contribute to the design and optimization of reliable and efficient edge computing systems, with implications for various applications, including the IoT and intelligent data processing. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have emerged as an efficient solution for numerous real-time applications, attributable to their compactness, cost-effectiveness, and ease of deployment. The rapid advancement of 5G technology and mobile edge computing (MEC) in recent years has catalyzed the transition towards large-scale deployment of WSN devices. However, the resulting data proliferation and the dynamics of communication environments introduce new challenges for WSN communication: (1) ensuring robust communication in adverse environments and (2) effectively alleviating bandwidth pressure from massive data transmission. In response to the aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes a semantic communication solution. Specifically, considering the limited computational and storage resources of WSN devices, we propose a flexible Attention-based Adaptive Coding (AAC) module. This module integrates window and channel attention mechanisms, dynamically adjusts semantic information in response to the current channel state, and facilitates adaptation of a single model across various Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) environments. Furthermore, to validate the effectiveness of this approach, the paper introduces an end-to-end Joint Source Channel Coding (JSCC) scheme for image semantic communication, employing the AAC module. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme surpasses existing deep JSCC schemes across datasets of varying resolutions; furthermore, they validate the efficacy of the proposed AAC module, which is capable of dynamically adjusting critical information according to the current channel state. With the advent of 6G Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) technology, IoT security faces inevitable challenges due to the application requirements of Massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTCs). In response, a 6G base station (gNB) and User Equipment (UE) necessitate increased capacities to handle a larger number of connections while maintaining reasonable performance during operations. To address this developmental trend and overcome associated technological hurdles, this paper proposes a hardware-accelerated and software co-designed mechanism to support streaming data transmissions and secure zero-trust inter-endpoint communications. The proposed implementations aim to offload processing efforts from micro-processors and enhance global system operation performance by hardware and software co-design in endpoint communications. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed secure mechanism based on the use of non-repeating keys and implemented in FPGA, can save 85.61%, 99.71%, and 95.68% of the micro-processor's processing time in key block generations, non-repeating checks, and data block transfers, respectively. This paper begins by exploring the challenge of event-triggered state estimations in nonlinear systems, grappling with packet dropout and correlated noise. A communication mechanism is introduced that determines whether to transmit measurement values based on whether event-triggered conditions are violated, thereby minimizing redundant communication data. In designing the filter, noise decorrelation is initially conducted, followed by the integration of the event-triggered mechanism and the unreliable network transmission system for state estimator development. Subsequently, by combining the three-degree spherical–radial cubature rule, the numerical implementation steps of the proposed state estimation framework are outlined. The performance estimation analysis highlights that by adjusting the event-triggered threshold appropriately, the estimation performance and transmission rate can be effectively balanced. It is established that when there is a lower bound on the packet dropout rate, the covariance matrix of the state estimation error remains bounded, and the stochastic stability of the state estimation error is also confirmed. This review paper discusses the development trends of agricultural autonomous all-terrain vehicles (AATVs) from four cornerstones, such as (1) control strategy and algorithms, (2) sensors, (3) data communication tools and systems, and (4) controllers and actuators, based on 221 papers published in peer-reviewed journals for 1960–2023. The paper highlights a comparative analysis of commonly employed control methods and algorithms by highlighting their advantages and disadvantages. It gives comparative analyses of sensors, data communication tools, actuators, and hardware-embedded controllers. In recent years, many novel developments in AATVs have been made due to advancements in wireless and remote communication, high-speed data processors, sensors, computer vision, and broader applications of AI tools. Technical advancements in fully autonomous control of AATVs remain limited, requiring research into accurate estimation of terrain mechanics, identifying uncertainties, and making fast and accurate decisions, as well as utilizing wireless communication and edge cloud computing. Cloud computing has data leakage from all parties, security protection of private data, and existing solutions do not provide a trade-off between security and overhead. With distributed data communication due to data barriers, information interaction security and data computation security have become challenges for secure computing. Combining cloud computing with secure multiparty computation can provide a higher level of data protection while maintaining the benefits of cloud computing. In this case, data can be stored in the cloud and computed through SMPC protocols, thus protecting the privacy and security of the data. However, multiple rounds of information interaction are often required, increasing the communication overhead, and the security strength is limited by the hardness assumption. In this paper, we work to achieve an optimal setting of the number of rounds in secure multi-party computation on the cloud to achieve a sublinear communication overhead and improve the security concept. A 2-round SMPC protocol is constructed in the framework of Universally Composable (UC). A 2-round SMPC protocol is constructed that uses multilinear maps based on the Learning from Errors (LWE) assumption. The participant encodes the input and sends it via broadcast to reduce the interaction, homomorphic computational encoding information for secure access to computational data and secure the SMPC protocol through UC security. This paper extends the participants to multiple parties, reduces the communication rounds to 2, the protocol achieves sublinear communication overhead in poly polynomial time, smaller setup size to poly(k), and static security is achieved. This paper mainly studies the deployment of hybrid sensors on highways. By constructing the deployment location constraint model, the overall accuracy of sensor deployment can be maximized. In addition, in order to meet the needs of intelligent transportation, the consideration of traffic data communication is added to the work. The highway under study is first divided into several units, and the combination type of sensors is used to represent the possible layout of two adjacent sensors. Then, a 0–1 optimization model reflecting the interaction between the sensor position and the server position is established. Then, a two-step search algorithm is proposed to find the optimal solution of the model and determine the deployment scheme with maximum accuracy. Finally, an example is given to verify the method. The results show that there are significant differences between uniform unit-deployment schemes and non-uniform unit-deployment schemes. Through the sensitivity analysis of each factor, the influence of budget and communication radius on the deployment plan is proven. Based on the distribution characteristics of railway video acquisition points, this paper classifies the section video collection points, analyzes the access requirements of the line patrol platform, and puts forward the construction scheme of line patrol platform, which includes four parts: line patrol center platform, station and depot patrol screens, workshop patrol terminals and data transmission channels. The line patrol center platform adopts the cloud collaboration technology to analyze, upload, and alarm on-site video stream, and is connected to the railway comprehensive video monitoring system and other external systems to share resources. Stations and depots are equipped with large patrol screens, and workshops are equipped with patrol terminals. Based on the characteristics of patrol platform construction, a supporting channel construction is proposed. This platform has three major functions including professional management enhancement, intelligent technical defense, and patrol strategy optimization. In this paper, a bulk arrival and two-phase bulk service with active Bernoulli feedback, vacation, and breakdown is considered. The server provides service in two phases as mandatory according to the general bulk service rule, with minimum bulk size ′ a ′ and maximum bulk size ′ b ′ . In the first essential service (FES) completion epoch, if the server fails, with probability ′ δ ′ , then the renewal of the service station is considered. On the other hand, if there is no server failure, with a probability ′ 1 − δ ′ , then the server switches to a second essential service (SES) in succession. A customer who requires further service as feedback is given priority, and they join the head of the queue with probability β . On the contrary, a customer who does not require feedback leaves the system with a probability ′ 1 − β ′ . If the queue length is less than ′ a ′ after SES, the server may leave for a single vacation with probability ′ 1 − β ′ . When the server finds an inadequate number of customers in the queue after vacation completion, the server becomes dormant. After vacation completion, the server requires some time to start service, which is attained by including setup time. The setup time is initiated only when the queue length is at least ′ a ′ . Even after setup time completion, the service process begins only with a queue length 'N' (N > b). The novelty of this paper is that it introduces an essential two-phase bulk service, immediate Bernoulli feedback for customers, and renewal service time of the first essential service for the bulk arrival and bulk service queueing model. We aim to develop a model that investigates the probability-generating function of the queue size at any time. Additionally, we analyzed various performance characteristics using numerical examples to demonstrate the model's effectiveness. An optimum cost analysis was also carried out to minimize the total average cost with appropriate practical applications in existing data transmission and data processing in LTE-A networks using the DRX mechanism.
