A combination of multiple methods can greatly intensify the removal efficiency of hazardous substances. Herein, the synergistic utilization of adsorption and catalysis achieved for the highly efficient removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr6+). A paper-based palladium nanoparticles/UiO-66-NH 2 (PdNPs/UiO-66-NH 2 /LP) composite catalyst was prepared using lignocellulose paper-based material (LP) for the loading of UiO-66-NH 2 MOFs materials, with the lignin in LP as the reducer for the in-situ synthesis of PdNPs (12.3 nm) on UiO-66-NH 2 MOF materials. Lignocellulose paper-based materials with high strength (82 N·m/g) realized low-cost and environmentally friendly preparation and guaranteed the practicability of PdNPs/UiO-66-NH 2 /LP composite catalyst. Hydrogen fuel is a non-toxic and source-abundant energetic system, but for its applications in the industry, several issues related to its storage must be resolved. Compounds like NaBH 4 appear as promising hydrogen sources, while can release the latter rapidly under controllable conditions with the use of heterogeneous catalyst systems. In this work, we synthesized a Ni–CoP catalyst by electrodeposition in a three-step process on carbon paper as support. The materials were characterized via SEM-EDS, XRD, and XPS techniques, while the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) from alkaline NaBH 4 solutions was tested as a batch experiment. Ni–CoP catalyst showed a high amount of H 2 generated in a short time (∼550 mL in 1 min) and remained at 78 and 54% of its initial performance after respectively 100 and 300 h of a continuous hydrolysis process. Our catalyst revealed exceptional performance and stability at higher temperatures and a long process time, which have been a rare subject of investigation in other reports for NaBH 4 hydrolysis in the past. In order to realize the intelligent recognition and statistics of hydrogenation catalyst image information, this paper presents a new method to judge the active phase by image recognition, which is different from traditional methods. Firstly, considering that hydrogenation catalyst image targets are small and easy to stack, the feature extraction network in the CenterNet model is optimized by adding the multi-feature fusion module to improve the accuracy of the network in edge positioning. Secondly, according to the linear shape of the hydrogenation catalyst, the mask branch is added to the CenterNet model to train the hydrogenation catalyst stripes with unclear target to reduce the leakage rate of the hydrogenation catalyst. The experimental results show that the detection accuracy of the improved CenterNet network is 91 % , 7 % higher than that of the original one, with a decline in detection rate by 12 % . The method proposed in this paper can accurately identify and segment the hydrogenation catalyst in the electron microscope image, which can provide technical support for the statistics and analysis of the hydrogenation catalyst image. This paper explores green hydrogen-based carbon dioxide (CO 2) hydrogenation for the production of oxygenates, presenting it as a pivotal strategy for mitigating carbon emissions and advancing sustainable energy solutions. The conversion of CO 2 into oxygenates through hydrogenation emerges as a promising avenue, particularly in the context of transportation applications where the storage of hydrogen poses challenges. The substitution of fossil diesel and gasoline fuels with green hydrogen-derived dimethyl ether, or methanol/ethanol, is advantageous from a life cycle analysis (LCA) CO 2 emission perspective even without the capture of the CO 2. However, the greatest sustainability appeal is contingent on the crucial aspect of capturing CO 2 when utilizing these fuels, which is an aspect currently absent in the literature. This narrative review comprehensively explores catalytic processes, mechanisms, sustainability perspectives, and the current state of research in this evolving area. It encompasses both the production of oxygenates through CO 2 hydrogenation and the subsequent utilization of these oxygenates in fuel cells or combustion systems, emphasizing the integration of CO 2 capture technologies. Biodiesel is a non-toxic and environmentally friendly fuel that is made from renewable biological sources. It can replace petrochemical diesel and has very broad application prospects. However, the main raw materials in biodiesel are animal and plant oils, which present the problems of high costs and a lack of resources. The current research primarily emphasizes the transesterification process, with comparatively less focus on the esterification of fatty acids. In this paper, a series of phosphotungstic acid (PTA)-functionalized hydrophobic MCM–41 catalysts, OTS–PTA–MCM–41(Cx), were synthesized and used to catalyze the esterification of long-chain fatty acids with methanol in water. The experimental results show that the yield of esterification reached a maximum when catalyzed by OTS–PTA–MCM–41(Cx) and synthesized with a template agent with two carbon atoms less than the number of carbon atoms of a fatty acid. The effects of different reaction variables were investigated to optimize the reaction conditions for the maximum conversion. The stability of the catalyst was also verified. Finally, a mixed catalyst was used to catalyze in situ the esterification of fatty acids in a fermentation broth, which reached a high level (close to 90%). This paper provides references for the synthesis of a hydrophobic solid acid catalyst and green synthesis by esterification reactions in an aqueous solution and a fermentation broth system. Monopropellant hydrazine thruster, depending on their thrust level, specific impulse, and unique functional regime, are widely used in situation control, orbital transmission, and position correction systems of satellites. In these thrusters, hydrazine decomposes by passing through the catalyst bed in a highly exothermic reaction to hot gas products. Hot gases generate thrust force by passing through a convergent-divergent nozzle. Pore scale analysis of catalytic reactions is very common in various industries and is of interest to researchers due to its accuracy. In this paper, the decomposition chamber of a monopropellant hydrazine thruster is numerically simulated with a single-part bed model at the pore-scale. The length of decomposition chamber was 2.48 cm. Then the effects of parameters such as catalyst granule diameter, catalyst bed porosity coefficient and also chamber inlet pressure on the performance of the decomposition chamber and thruster are investigated. Simulations have been performed for catalyst granules with diameters of 0.88, 1.00 and 1.15 mm in three porosity coefficients of 0.4, 0.55 and 0.65. The inlet pressure is also changed from 10 to 25 bar in four different levels. The results showed that the porosity coefficient is the most effective parameter and with its decrease, the specific impulse and temperature rise, while the thrust force and mass flow rate intensify. Also, the size of the catalyst granules affects the performance of the bed and thruster so that by increasing it (at a certain porosity coefficient), a trend similar to the effect of decreasing the porosity coefficient can be seen in the results. On the other hand, with enhancing inlet pressure, the thrust force increases significantly. In this paper, the effect of bed parameters on the thruster performance is discussed in detail, which contains helpful results for researchers that work on improving the decomposition chamber efficiency. In this paper, the foam-like multi-stage porous 3wt%Al-KIT-6-4T(WI) catalyst was prepared and employed for efficient catalyzing biomass-derived GVL to butene. It is found that the prepared 3wt%Al-KIT-6-4T(WI) catalyst possess abundant mesoporous and presented the foam-like microstructure. Due to this, the 3wt%Al-KIT-6-4T(WI) catalyst has large specific surface area (517.09 m2·g−1) and adequate amount of surface acid sites (both Brønsted and Lewis acid site). The special microstructure further improves the mass transfer efficiency of reactants and products. Under the optimized reaction conditions, the butene yield over the 3wt%Al-KIT-6-4T(WI) catalyst can up to 93.78% at 300 °C, after reacting 240 min. Moreover, the 3wt%Al-KIT-6-4T(WI) catalyst still showed excellent regeneration stability, and above 72% butene yield can be maintained after 7th cycle tests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, the influence of SO2 on the performances of selective catalytic oxidation (SCO) of NH3 on Cr-Ce mixed oxide catalysts had been disclosed. Experimental results revealed that the existence of SO2 could greatly suppress the unselective catalytic oxidation of ammonia over Cr-Ce mixed oxide catalysts with strong redox capacity, though the ammonia conversion rate was somewhat lowered after SO2 introduction. As such, near or above 90% ammonia conversion and excellent N2 selectivity within 350–450 °C could be achieved on Cr10Ce sample after 20 h reaction running in the presence of 350 ppm SO2. Characterization results indicated that SO2 could induce the formation of surface sulfates on Cr10Ce catalysts and enhance its surface acidity, which would inhibit the over-oxidation of NH3. More importantly, the bulk-like sulfation of Cr10Ce samples was damped in the presence of SO2 compared to pure CeO2, which allowed certain active oxygens participating in NH3-SCO reaction. DFT results also confirmed that the adsorbed SO2 would preferentially interact with the oxygens around the interface of CeO2 and Cr2O3, thereby preventing the retained active oxygens from being further sulfation. The identification research of hydrogenation catalyst information has always been one of the most important businesses in the chemical industry. In order to aid researchers in efficiently screening high-performance catalyst carriers and tackle the pressing challenge at hand, it is imperative to find a solution for the intelligent recognition of hydrogenation catalyst images. To address the issue of low recognition accuracy caused by adhesion and stacking of hydrogenation catalysts, An image recognition algorithm of hydrogenation catalyst based on FPNC Net was proposed in this paper. In the present study, Resnet50 backbone network was used to extract the features, and spatially-separable convolution kernel was used to extract the multi-scale features of catalyst fringe. In addition, to effectively segment the adhesive regions of stripes, FPN (Feature Pyramid Network) is added to the backbone network for deep and shallow feature fusion. Introducing an attention module to adaptively adjust weights can effectively highlight the target features of the catalyst. The experimental results showed that the FPNC Net model achieved an accuracy of 94.2% and an AP value improvement of 19.37% compared to the original CenterNet model. Hydrogen, as a clean, safe, and efficient energy carrier, is one of the hot energy sources that have attracted much attention. Mo2C, due to the introduction of C atoms, makes the atomic spacing of the Mo lattice decrease and changes the width of the d-band, which makes the electronic properties of Mo2C similar to that of Pt noble metals, exhibiting excellent electrochemical hydrogen precipitation performance. MoS2, due to its special crystal structure and tunable electronic structure, has been widely studied. In this paper, Mo2C nanoparticles were prepared by high-temperature carbonization, and then two-dimensional layered MoS2 were be loaded on Mo2C nanoparticles by the hydrothermal method to synthesize Mo2C/MoS2 composite catalysts. Their electrochemical hydrogen precipitation (HER) performance under acidic conditions was tested. The above catalysts were also characterized by modern material testing methods such as XRD, SEM, TEM, and XPS. The results showed that the composite catalysts exhibited the most excellent electrochemical hydrogen precipitation performance at Mo2C/MoS2-3, with the lowest overpotential at a current density of 10 mA cm−2, Tafel slope, and electrochemical impedance. At the same time, the electrochemically active area was dramatically enhanced, with good stability under prolonged testing. The catalytic activity was significantly improved compared with that of Mo2C and MoS2. The characterization and experimental results indicate that the heterogeneous structure of Mo2C and MoS2 formed a built-in electric field between the two, which accelerated the electron transfer efficiency and provided more active sites. The Mo2C/MoS2 composite catalyst is a low-cost, easy-to-prepare, and high-efficiency electrochemical hydrogen precipitation catalyst, providing a new idea for developing green and clean energy. Immobilized Pd‐catalyzed Suzuki‐Miyaura coupling under continuous‐flow conditions using a packed‐bed reactor, representing an efficient, automated, practical, and safe technology compared to conventional batch‐type reactions. The core objective of this study is the development of an active and durable catalyst. In contrast to supported Pd nanoparticles, the attachment of Pd complexes onto solid supports through well‐defined coordination sites is considered a favorable approach for preparing highly dispersed and stabilized Pd species. These species can be directly employed in various flow reactions without the need for pre‐treatment. This concept paper explores recent achievements involving the application of immobilized Pd complexes as precatalysts for continuous‐flow Suzuki‐Miyaura coupling. γ‐Valerolactone (GVL) can be obtained by efficient hydrogenation of levulinic acid using ruthenium‐based catalysts in an aqueous medium. This paper reports an in‐depth study on the activity and selectivity of Ru catalysts supported on zirconia‐alumina, focusing on the effect of Ru concentration (0.5, 1.5 and 3 wt. % of Ru) and the selection of operational reaction variables. The results showed that the activity strongly depends on the number and oxidation state of the supported ruthenium particles. The most active catalyst, Ru3/ZA, presented the highest number of nanometric particles of zerovalent Ru and the highest number of acid sites. This catalyst gave ca. 100 % selectivity towards GVL, at high conversion of levulinic acid (over 99 %) under the best operating conditions evaluated (120 °C, 3 MPa H2 pressure, 1 h of reaction, and 0.1 g of catalyst). CO and H 2 S poisoning of Pt-based catalysts for hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) stands as one of the long-standing hindrances to the widespread commercialization of proton exchange membrane fuel cells. In this paper, a Ru/Ti 4 O 7 catalyst is successfully synthesized by the microwave-thermal method. This Ru/Ti 4 O 7 catalyst shows a much higher noble metal mass activity than those of commercial PtRu/C and conventional Ru/C catalysts. The performance of the Ru/Ti 4 O 7 catalyst under the exist of CO or H 2 S shows insignificant current decay, which is far superior to commercial PtRu/C and Pt/C catalysts. In this Ru/Ti 4 O 7 catalyst, the electron transfer between Ru and Ti to form d-p orbital hybridization is considered to be responsible for the favorable catalytic HOR performance and the corresponding CO and H 2 S tolerance. The interaction mechanism formed by electron transfer may open a promising way for the subsequent development of anti-poisoning catalysts for PEM fuel cell hydrogen oxidation reaction. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have a wide range of applications in many fields, such as electronic devices, composites, sensors, catalysts, hydrogen storage materials, biomedicine, and energy, due to their unique structure and excellent physicochemical properties. As new composite materials require more and more precise control of carbon nanotube growth, the traditional research on carbon nanotube growth mechanism and growth parameter mechanism is difficult to meet the demand for precise control of carbon nanotube growth under complex conditions such as in-situ growth on the surface of composite materials. In this paper, a series of corncob carbon modified g-C 3 N 4 composite catalyst with excellent visible light response properties was synthesized via a simple one-pot co-solvothermal method. The catalysts displayed enhanced adsorption performance and photocatalytic activity of 98.89 % and 99.08 % on Rhodamine B (RhB) and methyl orange (MO) removal efficiency under visible light irradiation, respectively. The superoxide radical and hydroxyl radical were the dominant reactive oxygen species involved in the photocatalysis reaction. The significantly enhanced adsorption and photocatalytic performance of the catalysts was ascribed to the porous structure and the strong interactions between g-C 3 N 4 and corncob carbon. After six cycles of experiments, the catalysts still exhibit stable and high performance for the removal efficiency of RhB and MO. Based on the analytical results, a possible mechanism of photocatalytic degradation was proposed in detail. In this paper, we present a method to enhance the stability of Fe–N–C electrocatalysts, known for their significant oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and positioned as promising alternatives to commercial noble metal-based catalysts. Despite the favorable ORR activity, Fe–N–C suffers from inadequate stability in acidic media, primarily attributed the loss of active FeN 4 sites resulted from Fe-demetalation. However, recent investigation reveals that pyridine N exhibits remarkable stability in retaining Fe atoms. To address this, we achieved a high proportion of pyridine N doping in carbon nanofibers through a process involving nano-SiO 2 shell coating and electrospinning. The nano-SiO 2 shell coating method demonstrates efficacy and versatility in transforming pyrrole-type FeN 4 into pyridine-type FeN 4 , irrespective of the origin material being trivalent or divalent Fe, whether organic or inorganic. The selective catalytic reduction of NOx by CO (CO‐SCR) holds considerable promise as a simple and cost‐effective technology capable of concurrently removing CO and NOx from mobile and stationary sources. This is especially pertinent for industry sectors with high CO emissions, such as the iron and steel industry, making CO‐SCR an attractive solution with significant industrial applicability. However, despite the promising industrial potential of CO‐SCR technology, its widespread adoption is hindered by several factors, most notably the impacts of SO2, H2O, and O2 on catalyst performance and stability. Current research on these limiting factors is not exhaustive, posing challenges for the comprehensive industrial implementation of CO‐SCR technology. Therefore, this review paper focuses on the variables impeding the industrial utilization of CO‐SCR, summarizing existing bottlenecks and emphasizing the urgent need to address the inhibitory effects of O2 on the CO‐SCR reaction, a critical issue in contemporary research. The development of environmentally friendly catalysts for organic transformations is of great importance in the field of green chemistry. Aldehyde oxidation reactions play a crucial role in various industrial processes, including the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and fine chemicals. This paper presents the synthesis and evaluation of a new metallosalen carbon nitride catalyst named Co(salen)@g-C3N4. The catalyst was prepared by doping salicylaldehyde onto carbon nitride, and subsequently, incorporating cobalt through Schiff base chemistry. The Co(salen)@g-C3N4 catalyst was characterized using various spectroscopic techniques including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Furthermore, after modification with salicylaldehyde, the carbon nitride component of the catalyst exhibited remarkable yields (74–98%) in oxidizing various aldehyde derivatives (20 examples) to benzoic acid. This oxidation reaction was carried out under mild conditions and resulted in short reaction times (120–300 min). Importantly, the catalyst demonstrated recyclability, as it could be reused for five consecutive runs without any loss of activity. This paper demonstrates that relative reactivity estimated under competition of several similar substrates can be applied to visualize the dynamics of changes in a catalyst under the conditions of a complex catalytic process. Fe/N-doped carbon (Fe-NC) is an excellent base-metal catalyst for use in an electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) with high activity. In this paper, graphite phase carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was first obtained from the pyrolyzing of melamine, and then different proportions of FeCl3 were separately doped into g-C3N4 to further prepare the Fe-NC catalyst. The Fe-NC catalyst was applied in an ORR reaction, and the results show that the Fe-NC catalyst doped with 0.5 mmol FeCl3 possesses exceptional electrocatalytic performance, with an onset potential of 0.96 V and a half-wave potential of 0.81 V, which approaches that of a Pt/C catalyst. Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) have recently emerged as effective materials in different functional applications, ranging from energy storage to electrochemical water splitting, thence to more "traditional" heterogeneous catalysis. Their versatility is due to their open framework, compositional variety, and fast and efficient internal charge exchange, coupled with a self-healing ability that makes them unique. This review paper presents and discusses the findings of the last decade in the field of the catalytic and photocatalytic application of PBAs in water remediation (via the degradation of organic pollutants and heavy metal removal) and the catalytic oxidation of organics and production or organic intermediates for industrial synthesis. Analysis of the catalytic processes is approached from a critical perspective, highlighting both the achievements of the research community and the limits still affecting this field. In this paper, a novel method was proposed for the synthesis of Cu2S on copper mesh via electrolysis in SRB culture medium. It was found that following electrolysis in SRB medium, squamous-like Cu2S arrays were obtained on the copper mesh, and the Cu2S loading contents varied with the electrolyzing parameters. The resultant Cu2S on copper mesh in SRB (CSCM-SRB) with the highest catalytic MB degradation properties was produced by electrolysis at 3.75 mA/cm2 for 900 s. The optimized MB-degrading conditions were determined to be 1.2 cm2/mL CSCM-SRB with 0.05 M H2O2 at 35 °C when pH = 6, under which the degradation of MB reached over 99% after 120 min of reaction. Disinfecting properties was also proven by antibacterial tests, revealing that an almost 100% antibacterial rate against E. coli was obtained after 8 min. The organic compounds produced by SRB adsorbed on CSCM-SRB strongly promoted the degradation of MB. Furthermore, possible Fenton-like mechanisms of CSCM-SRB were proposed, illustrating that ·O2−, ·OH, and 1O2 acted as the main functional species during Fenton-like reactions, leading to effective MB degradation and high antibacterial properties. In this paper, MnOx/TiO2 catalysts with different manganese contents were prepared by using vacuum over-impregnation method to support manganese on TiO2 support. However, the activity temperature window was narrow and the denitrification efficiency was only 265–365 °C in the temperature zone above 80%. Therefore, doping W was used to improve the high temperature activity and broaden the activity temperature window. The experimental results show that the active temperature window of the catalyst is expanded to 260–550 °C when doping 20%WO3. The effects of tungsten doping on the structure and surface properties of the catalysts were investigated by XRD, TEM, Raman, XPS, H2-TPR and NH3-TPD. It is found that the increase of manganese content would increase the ratio of Mn4+ and Oα, and then improve the NH3-SCR activity at low temperature. New generations of spark-ignition engines include exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) to improve the engine efficiency. Depending on the design of the EGR routing, some differences in the total amount of recirculated gases that reach each cylinder can be induced. This affects the air-to-fuel ratio on each cylinder due to the combination of the different temperature and composition of the gases at the intake valve closure. As a consequence, significant deviations in the combustion process and the subsequent composition upstream the three-way catalyst can be reached. This paper explores these effects on catalyst performance and tailpipe emissions, individualizing the behavior for each regulated species. The study was performed in a four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with Atkinson cycle and a close-coupled three-way catalyst. The most significant deterioration in conversion efficiency appeared for the nitrogen oxides, directly linked to the EGR dispersion level. In the case of carbon monoxide (CO) emissions, no significant impact was observed except at high average EGR rates, where one or more of the cylinders exceeded the EGR tolerance for that speed and load. In this paper, the catalysts (Nano-HZSM-5 and Fe-La/nano HZSM-5) were prepared with incipient wetness impregnation and applied for hydrocracking of Sunan candlenut oil. The hydrocracking process was conducted in a batch reactor with a pressure of 20-30 bar H2 gas for 2 h under various temperatures. The results demonstrated that hydrocracking of Sunan candlenut oil using nano HZSM-5 and Fe-La/NHZ catalysts could be converted into aromatic hydrocarbons, and the reaction temperature affected hydrocarbon production. The aromatic compounds, such as propyl-benzene, 1-ethyl-3-methylbenzene, heptyl-benzene, 2-ethyl-naphthalene, etc., reached 35.51% over the Fe-La/NHZ_2 catalyst. In all cases, the zeolite-based catalysts are the most suitable to produce aromatic hydrocarbons. The paper shows the obtaining of nanocrystalline iron manganite (FeMnO3) powders and their investigation in terms of catalytic properties for a series of volatile organic compounds. The catalyst properties were tested in the catalytic combustion of air-diluted vapors of ethanol, methanol, toluene and xylene at moderate temperatures (50–550 °C). Catalytic combustion of the alcohols starts at temperatures between 180 °C and 230 °C. In the case of ethanol vapors, the conversion starts at 230 °C and increases rapidly reaching a value of around 97% at 300 °C. For temperatures higher than 300 °C, the degree of conversion is kept at the same value. In the case of methanol vapors, the conversion starts at a slightly lower temperature (180 °C), and the degree of conversion reaches the value of 97% at a higher temperature (440 °C) than in the case of ethanol, and it also remains constant as the temperature increases. Catalytic combustion of the hydrocarbons starts at lower temperatures (around 50 °C), the degree of conversion is generally lower, and it increases proportionally with the temperature, with the exception of toluene, which shows an intermediate behavior, reaching values of over 97% at 430 °C. The studied iron manganite can be recommended to achieve catalysts that operate at moderate temperatures for the combustion of some alcohols and, especially, ethanol. Roasting is an important step in the pretreatment of biomass upgrading. Roasting can improve the fuel quality of biomass, reduce the O/C and H/C ratios in the biomass, and provide the biomass with a fuel quality comparable to that of lignite. Therefore, studying the structure and component evolution laws during biomass roasting treatment is important for the rational and efficient utilization of biomass. When the roasting temperature is 200–300 °C, the cellulose and hemicellulose in the biomass undergo a depolymerization reaction, releasing many monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with high reactivity. The proportion of monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in biomass roasting products can be effectively regulated by controlling the reaction temperature, residence time, catalyst, baking atmosphere, and other factors in the biomass roasting process. Tuning the electronic distribution of the single‐atom sites in single‐atom catalysts (SACs) is crucial for unlocking their catalytic potential. The four‐nitrogen‐coordinated transitional metal (M−N4) configuration has been widely investigated in peroxymonosulfate (PMS)‐based advanced oxidation processes (PMS‐AOPs), but restricted by the sluggish electron transfer from PMS to generate the high‐valent metal‐oxo (HVMO), reactive species with high redox potentials and long half‐lives, for the degradation of organic pollutants in water due to its symmetric structure. Recently, the SACs with asymmetric coordination configurations are found to break the symmetric electronic distribution of M−N4, which facilitates the O−H and O−O bond breaking in PMS, thus promoting HVMO formation. Asymmetric coordination has emerged as a novel and effective strategy for single‐atom coordination modulation. In this paper, two strategies for breaking the symmetry of nitrogen‐coordinated SACs by planar heteroatom doping and axial optimization engineering are outlined, and the reaction mechanisms on the formation of HVMO species over asymmetrically coordinated SACs via PMS activation are highlighted. Molybdenum based phosphides have gradually become the investigation frontier of hydrogen evolution catalysts due to the platinum like electronic structure. In this paper, N, P double-doped graphite carbon layers wrapped with MoP nanoparticles (P–MoP@NPC), is directly compounded by one-step high-temperature carboning PMo 12 -APP@ZIF-8 precursor. P–MoP@NPC possesses splendid hydrogen production reactive, in two kinds of electrolytes, when the overpotentials of P–MoP@NPC are 132 mV and 161 mV, the slope of current density reaching 10 mA cm−2, Tafel slope are 67 and 79 mV dec−1, respectively. In the bargain, P–MoP@NPC displays satisfactory durability in acid and alkaline mediums and can continue to work for more than 24 h. The wonderful hydrogen production ability of P–MoP@NPC is ascribed to the synergistic effect of MoP nanoparticles, hierarchical porous structure as well as N, P double-doped carbon layers. The confinement effect of ZIF-8 makes most of the synthesized MoP nanoparticles evenly distributed. The hierarchical porous structure caused by the volatilization of Zn atoms with high temperature can expose more active centers. The N, P double-doped graphitic carbon layers not only protect the catalyst but also adjust the electronic structure of MoP, promoting the hydrogen production capacity. This work may provide a general way to study molybdenum phosphide catalysts synthesized by APP as a green phosphorus source for energy conversion. Hydrogen energy has been widely accepted as renewable and clean energy source. However, safety problems exist in the process of hydrogen energy transportation and storage. On-site hydrogen production has great potential to solve safety problems, and dimethyl ether (DME) is an excellent hydrogen carrier. There are four ways for hydrogen production from DME, and they are DME steam reforming, partial oxidation of DME, autothermal reforming of DME, and plasma reforming of DME, respectively. Catalysts are essential for the first three reactions and the last one could achieve the activation of DME just through election catalysis. To the best of our knowledge, a review of hydrogen production from DME has not been reported, which should be discussed systematically. In this review, the advantages and disadvantages of different DME reforming processes are discussed, and the progress of catalysts for the reforming processes as well as the effects of catalysts in the reactions are summarized. Carbonaceous catalysts obtained from agricultural residue could have potential in the production of biofuels such as biodiesel. This review paper discusses the preparation conditions (temperature, heating rate, hold time, inert gas flow rate, etc play key roles in development of textural characteristics of the catalysts) and functionalization methods of biochar and activated carbon derived from agricultural residues and their application to produce biodiesel. Research works reported in achieving maximum yield of biodiesel in terms of variable precursors, alcohol-to-oil ratio, reaction time and temperatures have been profoundly tabulated. Effect of textural properties of the biochar and activated carbon (such as surface area, total pore volume, average pore size, and functional group attached with the catalyst) on the biodiesel yield are examined. Studies on Regeneration and reusing of the spent catalysts are carefully inspected. The economic evaluation studies for the biochar and activated carbon and the applications of these for biodiesel production are scrutinized. It is highly attractive to develop a photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensing platform based on a non-noble-metal nano array architecture. In this paper, a PEC hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) biosensor based on Ni/WS2/WC heterostructures was synthesized by a facile hydrothermal synthesis method and melamine carbonization process. The morphology, structural and composition and light absorption properties of the Ni/WS2/WC catalyst were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UV–visible spectrophotometer. The average size of the Ni/WS2/WC nanosheets was about 200 nm. Additionally, the electrochemical properties toward H2O2 were studied using an electrochemical workstation. Benefiting from the Ni and C atoms, the optimized Ni/WS2/WC catalyst showed superior H2O2 sensing performance and a large photocurrent response. It was found that the detection sensitivity of the Ni/WS2/WC catalyst was 25.7 μA/cm2/mM, and the detection limit was 0.3 mmol/L in the linear range of 1−10 mM. Simultaneously, the synthesized Ni/WS2/WC electrode displayed excellent electrocatalytic properties in hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), with a relatively small overpotential of 126 mV at 10 mA/cm2 in 0.5 M H2SO4. This paper examines the developmental trajectories of students' self-authored worldview commitments over four years of college and the reasons they offered for making associated developmental gains. Through a longitudinal, mixed methods approach, we unearthed four distinctive developmental trajectories of a nationally-representative cohort of 9,470 students enrolled across 122 institutions. We found that provocative encounters with worldview diversity — those that appropriately challenged students to examine their own religious commitments — served as catalysts for growth during college. The varied contexts of those provocative encounters, both inside and outside the college classroom, are highlighted in students' own words. Implications for research are discussed. Catalytic conversion of glycerol to lactic acid has been considered as one of the effective ways to solve the problem of glycerol surplus. In this paper, we reported a facile synthesis of Cu/ZnO/C by direct calcination of Cu-supported zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF-8), and the performance of the catalysts for converting glycerol to lactic acid were investigated. The properties of Cu/ZnO/C catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, SEM and TG techniques. The results showed that nano-copper was distributed uniformly on the porous carbon carrier. The zinc oxide after thermal treatment provided abundant metal active sites and had synergistic effect with nano copper. In addition, the lactic acid selectivity of 84% was obtained at the glycerol conversion of 95.1% at 230 °C, 1.5 MPa and 15% copper loading for 6 h reaction. Catalytic synthesis of urea is a bright substitutable to Haber–Bosch progression and industrial urea synthesis. Electrochemical C–N coupling of carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides under environmental conditions is a newly developed method, which also provides a novel opinion for solving nitrate contamination. Conjugated organic frameworks (COFs) have been used as prospective electrocatalysts for nitrogen reduction reactions and carbon dioxide reduction reactions (CO2RR) as a result of their regulate structure and multihole properties, resulting in efficient electron transfer. This paper reports the efficient synthesis of urea from carbon dioxide and nitrate over MoM1S-Pc-M2PPs COF (M as a transition metal) electrocatalyst. According to the calculation of DFT, it was found that it was difficult for carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide to coadsorb on MoM1S-Pc to synthesize urea, so we chose to synthesize CO on the metal porphyrin (M2PPs) structural unit, and then overflow on the bimetallic phthalocyanine and nitrogen oxide to synthesize urea. The possibility of nitrate adsorption on different catalysts was verified by calculation. We screened the stability, nitrate adsorption strength, and catalytic activity of MoM1S-Pc candidates, and the results showed that the most promising candidate catalyst was MoFeS-Pc. At the same time, the CO2RR M2PPs substrate was also screened, and the VPPs structure was selected as the best. In the study of coupling between different nitrogen-containing intermediates and *CO, the C–N coupling mechanism shows that *NOH and *CO are two possible C–N coupling nitrogen intermediates, which are shown to be thermodynamically spontaneous and have an inferior activation barrier. This study not only provisions novel perceptions into urea synthesis by coupling nitrogen oxides with carbon dioxide under environmental conditions, but also paves the way for boosting the sustainable production of carbon and nitrogen-coupled products. The synthesis process of conventional Mn-based denitrification catalysts is relatively complex and expensive. In this paper, a resource application of chlorella was proposed, and a Chlorella@Mn composite denitrification catalyst was innovatively synthesized by electrostatic interaction. The Chlorella@Mn composite denitrification catalyst prepared under the optimal conditions (0.54 g/L Mn2+ concentration, 20 million chlorellas/mL concentration, 450°C calcination temperature) exhibited a well-developed pore structure and large specific surface area (122 m2/g). Compared with MnOx alone, the Chlorella@Mn composite catalyst achieved superior performance, with ∼100% NH 3 selective catalytic reduction (NH 3 -SCR) denitrification activity at 100-225°C. The results of NH 3 temperature-programmed desorption (NH 3 -TPD) and H 2 temperature-programmed reduction (H 2 -TPR) showed that the catalyst had strong acid sites and good redox properties. Zeta potential testing showed that the electronegativity of the chlorella cell surface could be used to enrich with Mn2+. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) confirmed that Chlorella@Mn had a high content of Mn3+ and surface chemisorbed oxygen. In-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (in-situ DRIFTS) experimental results showed that both Langmuir-Hinshelwood (L-H) and Eley-Rideal (E-R) mechanisms play a role in the denitrification process on the surface of the Chlorella@Mn catalyst, where the main intermediate nitrate species is monodentate nitrite. The presence of SO 2 promoted the generation and strengthening of Brønsted acid sites, but also generated more sulfate species on the surface, thereby reducing the denitrification activity of the Chlorella@Mn catalyst. VOCs can exert great harm to both human and environment, and catalytic oxidation is believed to be an effective technique to eliminate these pollutants. In this paper, Ag-Mn bimetal catalysts with 10 wt.% of silver were synthesized using doping, impregnation, and reduction methods respectively, and then they were applied to the catalytic oxidation of benzene. Through series of characterizations it showed that the loading of silver using reduction method significantly resulted in improved physico-chemical properties of manganese oxides, such as larger surface area and pore volume, higher proportion of surface Mn3+ and Mn4+, stronger reducibility and more active of surface oxygen species, which were all beneficial to its catalytic activity. As a result, the Ag-Mn catalysts synthesized by reduction method showed a lower T 90 value (equals to the temperature at which 90% of initial benzene was removed) of 203°C. Besides, both the used and fresh Ag-Mn catalysts synthesized by reduction method showed preferable stability in this research. The Ag-Mn bimetal catalyst synthesized through reduction method exerted largest specific surface area, pore volume, and surface lattice oxygen than other samples. Moreover, it also exhibited highest AOS value, stronger reducibility among all the as-prepared catalysts. CuO/CeO2 catalysts were widely studied as an alternative to precious metal catalysts, and the Cu–Ce synergy was essential to improve the catalytic performance. In this paper, the effects of CuO loading on Cu–Ce synergy in CuO/CeO2 nanorod catalysts and their performance in toluene combustion were systematically investigated. It was found that non-equilibrium plasma facilitated the dispersion of CuO active species on the CeO2 surface. With the increase of the CuO loading from 1 wt% to 4 wt%, the Cu–Ce synergistic effect was gradually improved, which generated Cu+/Cu2+ and Ce3+/Ce4+ redox electron pairs. The highest oxygen vacancy concentration and Cu+ content of CuCe-4 (4 wt%) resulting from strong Cu–Ce synergy accelerated the activation of chemisorbed oxygen and consequently improved the efficiency of toluene catalytic combustion. The use of hierarchically structured materials as catalysts has been finding increasing application in the past years. For these catalytic systems, not only the nano‐scale matters: a high degree of order across multiple length scales, along with its control and analytical assessment, is of paramount importance to obtain innovative properties that can find application in catalysis. Most reviews dealing with hierarchically structured materials are concerned with the "bottom‐up" transfer of structural information along the different length scales, with special emphasis on the transmission of chirality. Due to their mesoscale size together with their complex behaviour, these systems are often susceptible to feel the effects of macroscopic forces, that can exert a "top‐down" control of their catalytic properties, so that an external stimulus, acting at the level of the supramolecular architecture of the catalyst, can ultimately determine the outcome of the catalyzed reaction at the molecular level. We review in this paper some recent reports that deal with the experimental implementation of this concept, either by using a mechanical force in a full range direct transmission to the reaction coordinate, or by means of a stepwise relay transmission from the macroscopic level (purely supramolecular chirality) to the nanoscopic one. This paper presents the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts for the direct hydrogenation process of CO2 to methanol. The development of the modern chemical industry is inextricably linked to the use of catalytic processes. As a result, currently over 80% of new technologies introduced in the chemical industry incorporate catalytic processes. Since the basic factor of catalytic processes is the catalysts, the studies for the deepening of the knowledge regarding the nature of the action of the catalysts, for the development of new catalysts and catalytic systems, as well as for their improvement, represent a research priority of a fundamental or applied nature. The Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst for the synthesis of green methanol, using precursors of an inorganic (copper nitrate, denoted by Cu/ZnO/Al2O3-1) and organic (copper acetate, denoted by Cu/ZnO/Al2O3-2) nature, are obtained by chemical impregnation that includes two stages: preparation and one of calcination. The preparation methods and conditions, as well as the physico-chemical properties of the catalyst precursor, play a major role in the behavior of the catalysts. The prepared catalysts were characterized using atomic adsorption analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis, specific surface area and pore size analyses, adsorption, and the chemisorption of vapor (BET). Phospholane-phosphites are known to show highly unusual selectivity towards branched aldehydes in the hydroformylation of terminal alkenes. This paper describes the synthesis of hitherto unknown unsaturated phospholene borane precursors and their conversion to the corresponding phospholene-phosphites. The relative stereochemistry of one of these ligands and its Pd complex was assigned with the aid of X-ray crystal structure determinations. These ligands were able to approach the level of selectivity observed for phospholane-phosphites in the rhodium-catalysed hydroformylation of propene. High-pressure infra-red (HPIR) spectroscopic monitoring of the catalyst formation revealed that whilst the catalysts showed good thermal stability with respect to fragmentation, the C=C bond in the phospholene moiety was slowly hydrogenated in the presence of rhodium and syngas. The ability of this spectroscopic tool to detect even subtle changes in structure, remotely from the carbonyl ligands, underlines the usefulness of HPIR spectroscopy in hydroformylation catalyst development. The selective synthesis of cage‐type hydrocarbons through the editing of the highly symmetric molecule cubane can be anticipated as one of the efficient approaches. In this paper, we identify a catalyst that facilitates the efficient scaffold isomerization of cubanes into homocubanes. This approach, which involves the direct synthesis of homocubanol esters, is promising as a novel method for the synthesis of phenoxy bioisosteres. Additionally, we observed that the isomerization of 1,4‐bis(acyloxymethl)cubane results in the generation of both D2‐ and C2‐symmetrical bishomocubanes. To enable gigawatt-scale deployment of proton exchange membrane water electrolysers (PEMWEs), drastic reductions from current iridium loadings of 2–3 mgIr cm−2 to less than 0.4 mgIr cm−2 must occur due to iridium's high cost and scarcity. State-of-the-art systems use these high loadings to compensate for degradation experienced over prolonged operation. Thus, to attain low loadings while meeting commercial lifetime targets, factors such as ink formulation, MEA fabrication, catalyst layer–porous transport layer (CL–PTL) contact, and catalyst durability must be optimised. This review paper discusses the fundamentals of PEMWE technology and the modifications/improvements necessary for effective low iridium-loading design. Important milestones for future research include developing durable catalyst layers at low loadings, optimising the CL–PTL interface, and improving roll-to-roll production processes. Non-thermal plasma catalysis is a promising way to achieve high efficiency in applications such as energy conversion and chemical engineering. Although synergistic effects between plasmas and catalysts have been preliminarily considered as an underlying mechanism of this type of catalysis, the formation of discharges in small-size catalyst pores, which is possibly a crucial factor in plasma-activated catalysis, is still not well understood. In this paper, investigations on the interactions between a helium atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) and catalysts with micrometer-sized pores of different shapes and sizes are conducted with a 2D fluid model. Simulation results show that the existence of pores makes a subtle difference to the APPJ by changing the equivalent capacitance, indicating the potential to achieve moderate and stable APPJ-catalyst interactions. Traces of air impurities in helium can promote discharges in catalyst pores, and thus allow discharges to form in smaller pores. In the case when the catalyst channel is too small for direct APPJ penetration, we propose a method by producing a prior discharge in a relatively large cavity to supply seed electrons to ignite discharges inside the channel. The effects of channel and cavity sizes are discussed from the perspectives of discharge behavior and plasma-surface interactions. This work will contribute to the preparation of structured catalysts to potentially achieve higher efficient plasma catalysis, and better understanding of the physical processes in plasma-surface interactions inside micrometer pores.
