In this study, two methods were examined to optimize the immobilization of antibodies on paper when conducting a paper-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (P-ELISA). Human IgG, as a test-capture protein, was immobilized on paper via the formation of Schiff bases. Aldehyde groups were introduced onto the surface of the paper via two methods: NaIO 4 and 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS) with glutaraldehyde (APTS-glutaraldehyde). In the assay, horseradish peroxidase-conjugated anti-human IgG (HRP-anti-IgG) binds to the immobilized human IgG, and the colorimetric reaction of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzyzine (TMB) produces a blue color in the presence of H 2 O 2 and HRP-anti-IgG as a model analyte. The immobilization of human IgG, the enzymatic reaction conditions, and the reduction of the chemical bond between the paper surface and immobilized human IgG all were optimized in order to improve both the analytical performance and the stability. In addition, the thickness of the paper was examined to stabilize the analytical signal. Consequently, the APTS-glutaraldehyde method was superior to the NaIO 4 method in terms of sensitivity and reproducibility. Conversely, the reduction of imine to amine with NaBH 4 proved to exert only minimal influence on sensitivity and stability, although it tended to degrade reproducibility. In the era of liquid biopsy, microRNAs emerge as promising candidates for the early diagnosis and prognosis of cancer, offering valuable insights into the disease's development. Among all the existing analytical approaches, even if traditional approaches such as the nucleic acid amplification ones have the advantages to be highly sensitive, they cannot be used at the point-of-care, while sensors might be poorly sensitive despite their portability. In order to improve the analytical performance of existing electroanalytical systems, we demonstrate how a simple chromatographic paper-based disk might be useful to rationally improve the sensitivity, depending on the number of preconcentration cycles. A paper-based electrochemical platform for miRNA detection has been developed by modifying a paper-based electrode with a methylene blue (MB)-modified single-stranded sequence (ssDNA) complementary to the chosen miRNA, namely miR-224 that is associated with lung cancer. A detection limit of ca. 0.6 nM has been obtained in spiked human serum samples. To further enhance the sensitivity, an external chromatographic wax-patterned paper-based disk has been adopted to preconcentrate the sample, and this has been demonstrated both in standard and in serum solutions. For each solution, three miR-224 levels have been preconcentrated, obtaining a satisfactory lowering detection limit of ca. 50 pM using a simple and sustainable procedure. Wax printing is the most widely used method for fabricating microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (μPADs), but it still suffers from disadvantages like discontinuation of wax printers and need for additional equipment for heating treatment. To address these issues, this work initially describes a new class of wax printing approach for high-precision, batch fabrication of μPADs using a household 3D printer. It only involves a one patterning step of printing polyethylene wax into rice paper body. Under optimized parameters, a fabrication resolution, namely the minimum hydrophilic channel width, down to ~189 ± 30 μm could be achieved. In addition, the analytical applicability of such polyethylene wax-patterned μPADs was demonstrated well with enhanced colorimetric detection of dopamine as a model analyte by combining metal-organic framework (MOF) based nanoenzymes (ZIF-67) with a smartphone (for portable quantitative readout). The developed nanosensor could linearly detect dopamine over a concentration range from 10 to 1000 μM, with a detection limit of ca. 2.75 μM (3σ). The recovery results for analyzing several real samples (i.e., pig feed, chicken feed, pork and human serum) were between 91.82 and 102.79%, further validating its good detection accuracy for potential practical applications in food safety and medical diagnosis., (© 2024. The rapid discrimination of bacteria is currently an emerging trend in the fields of food safety, medical detection, and environmental observation. Traditional methods often require lengthy culturing processes, specialized analytical equipment, and bacterial recognition receptors. In response to this need, we have developed a paper-based fluorescence sensor array platform for identifying different bacteria. The sensor array is based on three unique carbon quantum dots (CQDs) as sensing units, each modified with a different antibiotic (polymyxin B, ampicillin, and gentamicin). These antibiotic-modified CQDs can aggregate on the bacterial surface, triggering aggregation-induced fluorescence quenching. The sensor array exhibits varying fluorescent responses to different bacterial species. To achieve low-cost and portable detection, CQDs were formulated into fluorescent ink and used with an inkjet printer to manufacture paper-based sensor arrays. A smartphone was used to collect the responses generated by the bacteria and platform. Diverse machine learning algorithms were utilized to discriminate bacterial types. Our findings showcase the platform's remarkable capability to differentiate among five bacterial strains, within a detection range spanning from 1.0 × 10 3  CFU/mL to 1.0 × 10 7  CFU/mL. Its practicality is further validated through the accurate identification of blind bacterial samples. Heavy metal ions, such as thallium(I) and lead(II) are environmental toxicants known to cause a severe threat to human and ecosystem health. This work investigates aptamers and intercalating chromophore-based complexes for the detection of these toxic species. In one method, a selective label-free "turn-on" biosensor was developed using a G-quadruplex-intercalating agent, berberine. Fluorescence, melting temperature (T m ), and circular dichroism analysis confirmed the affinity and selectivity results, illustrating the potential of these aptasensor methods for improving detection limits. These fluorescence assays were found to perform with a detection limit of 3.4 μM for Tl(I) and 0.84 nM for Pb(II). Furthermore, the assays were challenged successfully with Tl(I) and Pb(II) spiked into river water samples. We next developed paper-based fluorescent assays for Tl(I) and Pb(II), where the aptamer/berberine complex was spotted onto the paper test zone. When Tl(I) or Pb(II) ions solutions were spotted onto the top of the test zone and the spot was illuminated with a portable UV light (365 nm), a strong green fluorescence could be easily visualized with the naked eye. The lowest detection limits achieved with these fluorescent paper-based assays for Tl(I) and Pb(II) were 1.1 nM and 1.6 nM, respectively. The use of natural materials as precursors for synthesizing sorptive phases can reduce the environmental impact of the sample preparation step. In this article, two natural materials, i.e., cellulose and humic acids, are combined, resulting in a porous and flat sorptive phase that combines hydrophobic and cation exchange interactions. The simple preparation, with low reagent consumption, and the high production capacity make this process affordable. The performance of the humic acid-coated paper has been studied towards three basic drugs (cocaine, codeine, and methadone), and it has allowed the determination of the targets in saliva by direct infusion tandem mass spectrometry. The simultaneous extraction of many samples and the rapid analysis (2 min) provide a high sample throughput. The resulting method has been validated following the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) M10 validation guide. Working at the optimum conditions, the linear range was established from 5 to 500 μg·L -1 and the detection limits were established at 1.5 μg·L -1 for all the analytes. At the LOQ, the inter-day precision and intra-day precision, expressed as relative standard deviation, were better than 13.6% and 17.9%, respectively. For low/mid/high quality controls, the inter-day precision and intra-day precision were better than 11.8% and 9.1%, respectively. The accuracy, calculated as relative recovery, was in the range of 83.8-106.1%. Several samples from patients under treatment with codeine-containing prescriptions were finally analyzed., (© 2024. Electrophoretic microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (e-µPADs) are promising for low-cost and portable technologies, but quantitative detection remains challenging. In this study, we develop a paper-based isotachophoretic preconcentration and separation method for the herbicide glyphosate as a model analyte. The device, consisting of two electrode chambers filled with leading and terminating electrolytes and a nitrocellulose strip as the separation carrier, was illuminated by a flat light source and operated with a voltage supply of 400 V. Detection was accomplished using a simple camera. Colorimetric detection was optimized through competitive complexation between glyphosate, copper ions, and pyrocatechol violet as a dye. The buffer system was optimized using simulations, (i) ensuring the pH was optimal for the demetallation of the blue pyrocatechol violet-copper complex [PV] to the yellow free dye and (ii) ensuring the electrophoretic migration of glyphosate into the slower [PV] for the colorimetric reaction. A new data evaluation method is presented, analyzing the RGB channel intensities. The linear range was between 0.8 and 25 µM, with a LOD of approximately 0.8 µM. The ITP separation preconcentrated glyphosate by a factor of 820 in numerical simulations. Uric acid (UA) is an important biomarker, as a high concentration in blood can lead to gout and further renal syndrome. Although several point-of-care testing (POCT) devices have been reported to detect UA, there are some limitations such as the requirement for uricase and the complicated pretreatment of serum/plasma samples, which restricts their use at home or in undeveloped areas. In this work, we developed an approach by applying Zn 2+ to precipitate proteins and cells in whole blood to avoid interference with the chromogenic reaction. We used carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) to immobilize tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) on a nitrocellulose membrane for colorimetric detection. Using the oxidization properties of H 2 O 2 , which turns TMB into oxidized tetramethylbenzidine (TMBox) in the presence of catalyst gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), we successfully constructed an enzyme-free paper-based POCT device using the reduction reaction of UA and TMBox for simple, speedy, and cheap colorimetric detection of UA, achieving a detection time of 8 min, a linear range of 0-150 μg/mL, and an LOD of 25.79 μg/mL. The UA concentration in whole blood samples was further measured and correlated well with the clinical value (R 2  = 0.8212). In this work, a low-cost and eco-friendly paper-based analytical device (PAD) method is described for the determination of phyto-cannabinoids in cannabis and oral fluids based on a simple colorimetric reaction. The PAD was able to distinguish tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)- and cannabidiol (CBD)-rich plant samples by using 4-aminophenol (4-AP) and later on to quantify total phyto-cannabinoid content (THC + CBD + CBN) in plant and oral fluids by using the Fast Corinth V reagent. The chemical and physical properties regarding paper type and reagent concentration in the PAD were optimized to achieve the best analytical performance. After that, analytical features were obtained, including a linear range of 0.01-0.1 mg mL -1 , a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.003 mg mL -1 , and a suitable precision, expressed as relative standard deviation (RSD) lower than 10%. Furthermore, no significant interferences were observed in colorimetric reactions when tea, herbs, and drug samples were analyzed. Additionally, the PAD proved color stability up to 1 month after the sampling at 25 °C. The developed PAD was suitable for determining total phyto-cannabinoid content in plants and oral fluids, obtaining good results compared to GC-MS. Graphene film has been considered a promising material for the construction of self-supported electrodes due to its favorable flexibility and high conductivity. However, the film fabricated from pristine graphene or conventional graphene sheet reduced graphene oxide processes limited electrocatalytic performance. Decorating active metal species or incorporating heteroatoms into the graphene framework have been proved to be effective methods to enhance the electrocatalytic efficiency of graphene film-based self-supported electrodes. Herein, we present a freestanding electrode composed of uniform Pd nanoparticles decorating N,S co-doped porous graphene film (Pd/NSPGF) and explore its practical application in differentiating various human colon cell types by in situ tracking the amount of H 2 O 2 secreted from live cells. Our findings reveal that, on the one hand, the NSPGF has abundant surface and inner pores, which promote active site exposure, and mass diffusion during electrochemical reactions; on the other hand, the substitutional doping of the graphene framework with heteroatoms (e.g., N or S) can tailor its electronic and chemical properties, and facilitate the uniform loading of high-density Pd nanoparticles. Moreover, the intrinsic activity of Pd/NSPGF is regulated by the interaction of Pd nanoparticles with the NSPGF support. Taking the advantages of morphology and composition, the self-supported Pd/NSPGF electrode displays remarkable electrochemical performance with a wide linear range up to 2.0 mM, low detection limit of 0.1 μM (S/N = 3), high sensitivity of 665 µA cm -2  mM -1 , and good selectivity. C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein made by the liver, which is released into the bloodstream in response to inflammation. Furthermore, CRP is a potential risk factor for heart disease. Hence, it is of great importance to develop a rapid, sensitive, accurate, and cost-effective method for CRP detection. Herein, we report an enzyme-free fluorescent assay for the rapid and ultra-sensitive detection of CRP with a limit of detection (LOD) reaching as low as 3.08 pg/mL (i.e., ~ 27 fM). The high sensitivity of our method was simply achieved via dual-functionalized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). By regulating the molar ratio of DNA to CRP antibody immobilized on the AuNP surface, hundreds to thousands-fold amplification in the analyte signal could be instantly accomplished. Furthermore, our sensor was selective: non-target proteins such as interleukin-6, interleukin-1β, procalcitonin, bovine serum albumin, and human serum albumin did not interfere with the target CRP detection. Moreover, simulated serum samples were successfully analyzed. Progress in synthetic biology and nanotechnology plays at present a major role in the fabrication of sophisticated and miniaturized analytical devices that provide the means to tackle the need for new tools and methods for environmental and food safety. Significant research efforts have led to biosensing experiments experiencing a remarkable growth with the development and application of recombinant luminescent proteins (RLPs) being at the core of this boost. Integrating RLPs into biosensors has resulted in highly versatile detection platforms. These platforms include luminescent enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs), bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET)-based sensors, and genetically encoded luminescent biosensors. Increased signal-to-noise ratios, rapid response times, and the ability to monitor dynamic biological processes in live cells are advantages inherent to the approaches mentioned above. Furthermore, novel fusion proteins and optimized expression systems to improve their stability, brightness, and spectral properties have enhanced the performance and pertinence of luminescent biosensors in diverse fields. This review highlights recent progress in RLP-based biosensing, showcasing their implementation for monitoring different contaminants commonly found in food and environmental samples. Quorum sensing is a physiological phenomenon of microbial cell-to-cell information exchange, which relies on the quorum sensing signal molecules (QSSMs) to communicate and coordinate collective processes. Quorum sensing enables bacteria to alter their behavior as the population density and species composition of the bacterial community change. Effective detection of QSSMs is paramount for regulating microbial community behavior. However, traditional detection methods face the shortcomings of complex operation, high costs, and lack of portability. By combining the advantage of biosensing and nanomaterials, the biosensors play a pivotal significance in QSSM detection. In this review, we first briefly describe the QSSM classification and common detection techniques. Then, we provide a comprehensive summary of research progress in biosensor-based QSSM detection according to the transduction mechanism. Finally, challenges and development trends of biosensors for QSSM detection are discussed. Many chemicals in food packaging can leach as complex mixtures to food, potentially including substances hazardous to consumer health. Detecting and identifying all of the leachable chemicals are impractical with current analytical instrumentation and data processing methods. Therefore, our work aims to expand the analytical toolset for prioritizing and identifying chemical hazards in food packaging. We used a high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC)-based bioassay to detect genotoxic fractions in paperboard packaging. These fractions were then processed with non-targeted liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS/MS) and machine learning-based toxicity prediction (MLinvitroTox). The HPTLC bioassay detected four genotoxic zones in extracts of the paperboard. One-dimensional HPTLC separation and targeted fraction collection reduced the number of chemical features extracted from paperboard and detected with LC-HRMS by at least 98% (from 1695-2693 to 14-50). The entire process was successful for spiked genotoxic chemicals, which were correctly prioritized in the fractionation and non-target analysis workflow. The native chemical with the strongest genotoxicity signal was identified with a suspect list as 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and confirmed with LC-HRMS/MS and HPTLC bioassay. Toward identification of the remaining unknown genotoxicants, two-dimensional HPTLC further reduced the number of chemical features. Genotoxicity predictions with MLinvitroTox based on molecular fingerprints of the unknown signals derived from their MS2 fragmentation spectra helped prioritize two chemical features and suggested candidate structures. Ubiquitous environmental occurrence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) underscores the critical need to broaden investigative efforts in effective screening, risk assessment, and remediation. Owing to the broad spectrum of PFAS, various analytical techniques have been extensively utilized to attain inclusivity, with notable attention given to methods such as extractable organic fluorine (EOF), adsorbable organic fluorine (AOF), and the total oxidizable precursor (TOP) assay. These techniques expand the scope of PFAS analysis by estimating perfluoroalkyl acid precursors or the total organochlorine fraction. This review offers a comprehensive comparative overview of up-to-date methodologies, alongside acknowledging the inherent limitations associated with their applications. When coupled with target analysis via low-resolution tandem mass spectrometry, these techniques offer a potential estimation of total PFAS concentrations. Yet, analytical challenges such as the limited availability of reference analytical standards, partial PFAS adsorption, and the entrapment of fluorinated inorganic anions on adsorbent materials often restrict the comprehensiveness of PFAS analysis. So, integrating nontarget analysis using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) tools fortifies these PFAS mass balance approaches, enabling the development of a more holistic approach for an environmental analysis framework. This review provides additional insights into the comparative advantages of PFAS analytical approaches and explores various data prioritization strategies in nontarget screening methods. It advocates for the necessary optimization of PFAS extraction methods, asserting that integrating the nontarget approach would foster the establishment of a comprehensive monitoring framework across diverse environmental matrices. The discovery of enzyme-like catalytic characteristics in nanomaterials triggers the generation of nanozymes and their multifarious applications. As a class of artificial mimetic enzymes, nanozymes are widely recognized to have better stability and lower cost than natural bio-enzymes, but the lack of catalytic specificity hinders their wider use. To solve the problem, several potential strategies are explored, among which molecular imprinting attracts much attention because of its powerful capacity for creating specific binding cavities as biomimetic receptors. Attractively, introducing molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) onto nanozyme surfaces can make an impact on the latter's catalytic activity. As a result, in recent years, MIPs featuring universal fabrication, low cost, and good stability have been intensively integrated with nanozymes for biochemical detection. In this critical review, we first summarize the general fabrication of nanozyme@MIPs, followed by clarifying the potential effects of molecular imprinting on the catalytic performance of nanozymes in terms of selectivity and activity. Typical examples are emphatically discussed to highlight the latest progress of nanozyme@MIPs applied in catalytic analysis. In the end, personal viewpoints on the future directions of nanozyme@MIPs are presented, to provide a reference for studying the interactions between MIPs and nanozymes and attract more efforts to advance this promising area., (© 2024. Nanozymes are nanomaterials with mimetic enzyme properties and the related research has attracted much attention. It is of great value to develop methods to construct nanozymes and to study their application in bioanalysis. Herein, the metal-ligand cross-linking strategy was developed to fabricate superstructure nanozymes. This strategy takes advantage of being easy to operate, adjustable, cheap, and universal. The fabricated superstructure nanozymes possess efficient peroxidase-like catalytic activity. The enzyme reaction kinetic tests demonstrated that for TMB and H 2 O 2 , the K m is 0.229 and 1.308 mM, respectively. Furthermore, these superstructure nanozymes are applied to highly efficient and sensitive detection of glucose. The linear range for detecting glucose is 20-2000 μM, and the limit of detection is 17.5 μM. Furthermore, mechanistic research illustrated that this integrated system oxidizes glucose to produce hydrogen peroxide and further catalyzes the production of · OH and O 2 ·- , which results in a chromogenic reaction of oxidized TMB for the detection of glucose. In this study, a ratiometric fluorescent sensor CdTe QDs@ZIF-8 with butterfly spectra is successfully constructed by in situ encapsulating mercaptopropionic acid-modified CdTe quantum dots in zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) with a simple strategy, and used for the detection of tetracycline in fluorescence/smartphone colorimetry dual-mode. ZIF-8 not only reduces the agglomeration of the quantum dots but also surprisingly generates a new green fluorescence signal at 524 nm while the red fluorescence of the CdTe quantum dots at 650 nm quenches when tetracycline is added. The two opposing fluorescence signals create a butterfly-shaped fluorescence spectrum, allowing the sensor to detect tetracycline over a linear range of 0-70 μM with the detection limit (LOD) of 0.0155 μM by using a ratiometric fluorescence technique. What is more, based on the obvious color change of the fluorescent sensor gradually from red to green under UV light, a highly stable point-of-care testing sensor has been developed for on-site detection of tetracycline through color recognition by smartphones, which can be used for real-time detection of this antibiotic in the range of 0-1000 μM with the LOD of 0.0249 μM. The development of cost-effective and highly efficient electrocatalysts is critical to help electrochemical non-enzymatic sensors achieve high performance. Here, a new class of catalyst, Ru single atoms confined on Cu nanotubes as a single-atom alloy (Ru 1 Cu NTs), with a unique electronic structure and property, was developed to construct a novel electrochemical non-enzymatic glucose sensor for the first time. The Ru 1 Cu NTs with a diameter of about 24.0 nm showed a much lower oxidation potential (0.38 V) and 9.0-fold higher response (66.5 μA) current than Cu nanowires (Cu NWs, oxidation potential 0.47 V and current 7.4 μA) for glucose electrocatalysis. Moreover, as an electrochemical non-enzymatic glucose sensor, Ru 1 Cu NTs not only exhibited twofold higher sensitivity (54.9 μA mM -1  cm -2 ) and wider linear range (0.5-8 mM) than Cu NWs, but also showed a low detection limit (5.0 μM), excellent selectivity, and great stability. According to theoretical calculation results, the outstanding catalytic and sensing performance of Ru 1 Cu NTs could be ascribed to the upshift of the d-band center that helped promote glucose adsorption. Gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) exhibit broad fluorescent spectra from visible to near-infrared regions and good enzyme-mimicking catalytic activities. Combined with excellent stability and exceptional biocompatibility, the Au NCs have been widely exploited in biomedicine such as biocatalysis and bioimaging. Especially, the long fluorescence lifetime and large Stokes shift attribute Au NCs to good probes for fluorescence sensing and biological detection. In this review, we systematically summarized the molecular structure and fluorescence properties of Au NCs and highlighted the advances in fluorescence sensing and biological detection. The Au NCs display high sensitivity and specificity in detecting iodine ions, metal ions, and reactive oxygen species, as well as certain diseases based on the fluorescence activities of Au NCs. Laccase is an enzyme known for its eco-friendly uses in environmental cleanup and biotechnology. However, it has limitations such as low stability, high cost, and complex recycling. So, there is a need for laccase mimics that can effectively imitate its properties. Herein, we created copper formate-lysine nanoparticles (Cuf-Lys) that mimic laccase's activity. The developed Cuf-Lys demonstrated remarkable polyphenol oxidase-like activity, stability, and recyclability, making them suitable for the fabrication of efficient colorimetric sensors for the detection of epinephrine. These sensors had a specific response and could accurately measure epinephrine concentrations ranging from 2.5 to 50 μM, with a detection limit as low as 1 μM. Furthermore, the biosensor demonstrated high sensitivity and selectivity when applied to the detection of rutin. The limit of detection for rutin was determined to be 0.16 μM while in the linear concentration range of 0.25 to 150.0 μM. Forensic chemistry literature has grown exponentially, with many analytical techniques being used to provide valuable information to help solve criminal cases. Among them, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI MS), particularly MALDI MS imaging (MALDI MSI), has shown much potential in forensic applications. Due to its high specificity, MALDI MSI can analyze a wide variety of compounds in complex samples without extensive sample preparation, providing chemical profiles and spatial distributions of given analyte(s). Prototyping analytical devices with three-dimensional (3D) printing techniques is becoming common in research laboratories. The attractiveness is associated with printers' price reduction and the possibility of creating customized objects that could form complete analytical systems. Even though 3D printing enables the rapid fabrication of electrochemical sensors, its wider adoption by research laboratories is hindered by the lack of reference material and the high "entry barrier" to the field, manifested by the need to learn how to use 3D design software and operate the printers. This review article provides insights into fused deposition modeling 3D printing, discussing key challenges in producing electrochemical sensors using currently available extrusion tools, which include desktop 3D printers and 3D printing pens. Further, we discuss the electrode processing steps, including designing, printing conditions, and post-treatment steps. Electrochemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (ECL-RET) is a versatile signal transduction strategy widely used in the fabrication of chem/biosensors. However, this technique has not yet been applied in visualized imaging analysis of intracellular species due to the insulating nature of the cell membrane. Here, we construct a ratiometric ECL-RET analytical method for hypochlorite ions (ClO - ) by ECL luminophore, with a luminol derivative (L-012) as the donor and a fluorescence probe (fluorescein hydrazide) as the acceptor. L-012 can emit a strong blue ECL signal and fluorescein hydrazide has negligible absorbance and fluorescence signal in the absence of ClO - . Thus, the ECL-RET process is turned off at this time. In the presence of ClO - , however, the closed-loop hydrazide structure in fluorescein hydrazide is opened via specific recognition with ClO - , accompanied with intensified absorbance and fluorescence signal. Thanks to the spectral overlap between the ECL spectrum of L-012 and the absorption spectrum of fluorescein, the ECL-RET effect is gradually recovered with the addition of ClO - . Furthermore, the ECL-RET system has been successfully applied to image intracellular ClO - . Although the insulating nature of the cell itself can generate a shadow ECL pattern in the cellular region, extracellular ECL emission penetrates the cell membrane and excites intracellular fluorescein generated by the reactions between fluorescein hydrazide and ClO - . The cell imaging strategy via ECL-RET circumvents the blocking of the cell membrane and enables assays of intracellular species. The importance of the ECL-RET platform lies in calibrating the fluctuation from the external environment and improving the selectivity by using fluorescent probes. Rapid, efficient, versatile, easy-to-use, and non-expensive analytical approaches are globally demanded for food analysis. Many ambient ionization approaches based on electrospray ionization (ESI) have been developed recently for the rapid molecular characterization of food products. However, those approaches mainly suffer from insufficient signal duration for comprehensive chemical characterization by tandem MS analysis. Here, a commercially available disposable gel loading tip is used as a low-cost emitter for the direct ionization of untreated food samples. The most important advantages of our approach include high stability, and durability of the signal (> 10 min), low cost (ca. 0.1 USD per run), low sample and solvent consumption, prevention of tip clogging and discharge, operational simplicity, and potential for automation. Quantitative analysis of sulfapyridine, HMF (hydroxymethylfurfural), and chloramphenicol in real sample shows the limit-of-detection 0.1 μg mL -1 , 0.005 μg mL -1 , 0.01 μg mL -1 ; the linearity range 0.1-5 μg mL -1 , 0.005-0.25 μg mL -1 , 0.01-1 μg mL -1 ; and the linear fits R 2  ≥ 0.980, 0.991, 0.986. Moreover, we show that tip-ESI can also afford sequential molecular ionization of untreated viscous samples, which is difficult to achieve by conventional ESI. Artificial enzymes with high stability, adjustable catalytic activity, controllable preparation, and good reproducibility have been widely studied. Noble metal nanozymes, particularly gold nanoparticles (Au NPs), exhibit good catalytic activity, but their stability is poor. In this study, zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) was used as a carrier for Au NPs, thus improving the utilization efficiency and conservation stability of the nanozymes. A ZIF-8/Au nanocomposite with peroxidase activity and a raspberry-shaped structure was synthesized. In the assay, ZIF-8/Au catalyzed the oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to a blue product oxidized TMB (oxTMB). Glutathione (GSH) selectively inhibited this reaction, with a detection limit of 0.28 µM and linear range of 0.5-60 µM. Using the photo and chromaticity analysis functions, we developed a portable analysis method using a smartphone equipped with a camera module as a detection terminal for a wide range of rapid screening techniques for GSH. Preparation of raspberry-shaped ZIF-8/Au improved the catalytic activity of Au NPs and good results were demonstrated in serum, which suggests their promising application under physiological conditions., (© 2024. Breast cancer (BC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in women worldwide, and its incidence is increasing every year. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical to improve the curability and prognosis of patients. However, existing detection methods often suffer from insufficient sensitivity and specificity, which limits their clinical application. Fortunately, the rapid development of nanotechnology offers new possibilities for diagnosing BC. For example, the unique physicochemical properties of gold nanomaterials (Au NMs), such as fascinating optical properties and quantum size effect, along with excellent biocompatibility and modifiability, enable them to manifest great potential in the field of biosensing, especially in the detection of BC biomarkers. Through fine surface modification and functionalization, Au NMs can accurately bind to specific antibodies, nucleic acids, and other biomolecules, thus achieving sensitive and precise detection of specific biomarkers. Here, we focus on the research progress of Au NMs as a key biosensing vector in BC biomarker detection. From four major perspectives of early diagnosis, prognostic evaluation, risk prediction, and bioimaging applications, we have thoroughly analyzed the broad application of Au NMs in BC biomarker detection and prospectively addressed its possible future trends. Metformin (MET) and sitagliptin (STG) are widely used as the first-line and long-term oral hypoglycemic agents for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the current lack of convenient and rapid measurement methods poses a challenge for individualized management. This study developed a point-of-care (POC) assay method utilizing a miniature mass spectrometer, enabling rapid and accurate quantification of MET and STG concentrations in human blood and urine. By combining the miniature mass spectrometer with paper spray ionization, this method simplifies the process into three to four steps, requires minimal amounts of bodily fluids (50 μL of blood and 2 μL of urine), and is able to obtain quantification results within approximately 2 min. Stable isotope-labeled internal standards were employed to enhance the accuracy and stability of measurement. The MS/MS responses exhibited good linear relationship with concentration, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) below 25%. Environmental pollution by plastics is a global issue of increasing concern. However, microplastic analysis in complex environmental matrices, such as soil samples, remains an analytical challenge. Destructive mass-based methods for microplastic analysis do not determine plastics' shape and size, which are essential parameters for reliable ecological risk assessment. By contrast, nondestructive particle-based methods produce such data but require elaborate, time-consuming sample preparation. Thus, time-efficient and reliable methods for microplastic analysis are needed. The present study explored the potential of frequency-domain fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FD-FLIM) for rapidly and reliably identifying as well as differentiating plastics and natural materials from terrestrial environments. We investigated the fluorescence spectra of ten natural materials from terrestrial environments, tire wear particles, and eleven different transparent plastic granulates <5 mm to determine the optimal excitation wavelength for identification and differentiation via FD-FLIM under laboratory conditions. Our comparison of different excitation wavelengths showed that 445 nm excitation exhibited the highest fluorescence intensities. 445 nm excitation was also superior for identifying plastic types and distinguishing them from natural materials from terrestrial environments with a high probability using FD-FLIM. We could demonstrate that FD-FLIM analysis has the potential to contribute to a streamlined and time-efficient direct analysis of microplastic contamination. However, further investigations on size-, shape-, color-, and material-type detection limitations are necessary to evaluate if the direct identification of terrestrial environmental samples of relatively low complexity, such as a surface inspection soil, is possible., (© 2024. Volumetric absorptive micro-sampling (VAMS) has emerged as a simple and safe tool for collecting and storing blood samples in clinical and bioanalytical fields. This study presents a novel method for determining essential and non-essential trace elements (As, Be, Cd, Cs, Cu, Fe, Mg, P, Pb, S, Sb, Se, Tl, V, U) in VAMS-collected blood samples using microwave-assisted digestion with diluted acid as sample preparation method and an inductively coupled plasma triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (ICP-QQQ) as determination technique. While certain elements posed challenges due to VAMS tip background issues (Al, Ti, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Sn, Mo, Ba), the method demonstrated high precision and accuracy for the targeted analytes. It was demonstrated that 4.5 mol L -1 HNO 3 plus 100 µL H 2 O 2 30% (w/w) was suitable for an efficiency of digestion for further elemental determination using micro-analysis (spending less than 300 µL analytical solution) by ICP-QQQ, given that the residual carbon content (RCC) after the digestion procedure was lower than 5%. All the results higher than limit of quantification (LOQ) were in agreement with reference values for all analytes. Accuracy was assessed through reference material analysis and recovery tests using spiked samples. Moreover, suitable agreements (p > 0.05) between this method (VAMS-M) and the comparative method (liquid sampling method) were obtained for all analytes >LOQ. Furthermore, all results >LOQ showed good precision according to precision requirements (Horwitz equation). In this way, with the use of dilute acid, low dilution factor (30-fold), and excellent digestion efficiency (>95%), the proposed method was able to achieve an excellent detection limit, precision, and accuracy for 15 elements: As, Be, Cd, Cs, Cu, Fe, Mg, P, Pb, S, Sb, Se, Tl, V, and U using ICP-MS/MS, without the need for matrix-matched calibration curves. This research showcases an innovative analytical approach using VAMS for blood samples, offering biosafety, practicality, sensitivity, versatility, and robustness. Drug screening tests are mandatory in the search for drugs in forensic biological samples, and immunological methods and mass spectrometry (e.g., gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry) are commonly used for that purpose. However, these methods have some drawbacks, and developing new screening methods is required. In this study, we develop a rapid-fire drug screening method by probe electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (PESI-MS/MS), which is an ambient ionization mass spectrometry method, for human urine, named RaDPi-U. RaDPi-U is carried out in three steps: (1) mixing urine with internal standard (IS) solution and ethanol, followed by vortexing; (2) pipetting the mixture onto a sample plate for PESI; and (3) rapid-fire analysis by PESI-MS/MS. RaDPi-U targets 40 forensically important drugs, which include illegal drugs, hypnotics, and psychoactive substances. The analytical results were obtained within 3 min because of the above-mentioned simple workflow of RaDPi-U. The calibration curves of each analyte were constructed using the IS method, and they were quantitatively valid, resulting in good linearity (0.972-0.999) with a satisfactory lower limit of detection and lower limit of quantitation (0.01-7.1 ng/mL and 0.02-21 ng/mL, respectively). Further, both trueness and precisions were 28% or less, demonstrating the high reliability and repeatability of the method. Finally, we applied RaDPi-U to three postmortem urine specimens and successfully detected different drugs in each urine sample. Centralized laboratories in which analytical processes are automated to enable the analysis of large numbers of samples at relatively low cost are used for analytical testing throughout the world. However, healthcare is changing, partly due to the general recognition that care needs to be more patient-centered and putting the patient at the center of action. One way to achieve this goal is to consider point-of-care testing (PoC) devices as alternative analytical concepts. This requires miniaturization of current analytical concepts and the use of cost-effective diagnostic tools with appropriate sensitivity and specificity. Electrochemical sensors are ideally adapted as they provide robust, low-cost, and miniaturized solutions for the detection of variable analytes, yet lack the high sensitivity comparable to more classical diagnosis approaches. Advances in nanotechnology have opened up a plethora of different nanomaterials to be applied as electrode and/or sensing materials in electrochemical biosensors. The ultrasensitive detection of hepatitis C virus (HCV) nucleic acid is crucial for the early diagnosis of hepatitis C. In this study, by combining Ag@Au core/shell nanoparticle (Ag@AuNP)-based surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) tag with hybridization chain reaction (HCR), a novel SERS-sensing method was developed for the ultrasensitive detection of HCV nucleic acid. This SERS-sensing system comprised two different SERS tags, which were constructed by modifying Ag@AuNP with a Raman reporter molecule of 4-ethynylbezaldehyde, two different hairpin-structured HCR sequences (H1 or H2), and a detection plate prepared by immobilizing a capture DNA sequence onto the Ag@AuNP layer surface of the detection wells. When the target nucleic acid was present, the two SERS tags were captured on the surface of the Ag@AuNP-coated detection well to generate many "hot spots" through HCR, forming a strong SERS signal and realizing the ultrasensitive detection of the target HCV nucleic acid. Sample preparation is a constantly evolving step in the measurement process with a positive effect on its performance. Its evolution has been marked by an underlying environmental commitment, with simplification, miniaturization, and automation being three of its driving forces. This trends article deepens how the sample preparation can go sustainable through the efficient design of new sorptive materials, either liquid or solid. This objective can be achieved by using natural and/or biodegradable materials as precursors of the functional sorptive phases and by designing materials that simplify the procedures (thus reducing the energy or resources required). Although environmental performance is a crucial aspect of a new material, its applicability is what really defines its incorporation into the sample preparation toolbox. As part of the ambitious goal of making MS a general device that can be used in everyday life, lots of efforts have been paid to miniaturize the ionization source. Analytical chemistry is a broad area of science comprised of many sub-disciplines. Although each sub-discipline has its own dominant trends, one trend is common to all of them: greenness and sustainability. Efforts to develop more ecological and environmentally friendly methods have been ongoing for over a decade with initial attempts largely focusing on limiting the necessary volume of solvents required and eliminating the use of toxic solvents. Over time, the miniaturization of analytical devices gained popularity as a way of not only reducing chemical usage, but also enabling analyses using smaller sample volumes and more "remote" applications (e.g., on-site sampling and analysis). Of course, miniaturization poses numerous challenges for researchers, for instance, in relation to the method's sensitivity and reproducibility. Developments in the design of detection systems have largely helped to mitigate these issues, but they also often restrict the potential for on-site analysis. Therefore, attempts have been made to improve analysis throughout the entire analytical process, from sampling through sample preparation and instrumental analysis to data handling. Furthermore, clinical chemistry labs must adhere to certain regulations and use certified protocols and materials, which precludes the rapid implementation of solutions developed in research labs. What are the obstacles in translating such innovations to practical applications, and what inventions can make a difference in the future? Laser-induced graphene (LIG) has received much attention in recent years as a possible transducer material for electroanalytical sensors. Its simplicity of fabrication and good electrochemical performance are typically highlighted. However, we found that unmodified and untreated LIG electrodes had a limited shelf-life for certain electroanalytical applications, likely due to the adsorption of adventitious hydrocarbons from the storage environment. Electrode responses did not change immediately after exposure to ambient conditions but over longer periods of time, probably due to the immense specific surface area of the LIG material. LIG shelf-life is seldomly discussed prominently in the literature, yet overall trends for solutions to this challenge can be identified. Such findings from the literature regarding the long-term storage stability of LIG electrodes, pure and modified, are discussed here along with explanations for likely protective mechanisms. Specifically, applying a protective coating on LIG electrodes after manufacture is possibly the easiest method to preserve electrode functionality and should be identified as a trend for well-performing LIG electrodes in the future. Prostate and lung cancers are the most common types of cancer and affect a large part of the population around the world, causing deaths. Therefore, the rapid identification of cancer can profoundly impact reducing cancer-related death rates and protecting human lives. Significant resources have been dedicated to investigating new methods for early disease detection. Cancer biomarkers encompass various biochemical entities, including nucleic acids, proteins, sugars, small metabolites, cytogenetic and cytokinetic parameters, and whole tumor cells in bodily fluids. These tools can be utilized for various purposes, such as risk assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment efficacy, toxicity evaluation, and predicting a return. Due to these versatile and critical purposes, there are widespread studies on the development of new, sensitive, and selective approaches for the determination of cancer biomarkers. This review illustrates the significant lung and prostate cancer biomarkers and their determination utilizing electrochemical sensors, which have the advantage of improved sensitivity, low cost, and simple analysis. Additionally, approaches such as improving sensitivity with nanomaterials and ensuring selectivity with MIPs are used to increase the performance of the sensor. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) rely on synthetic engineered materials able to selectively bind and intimately recognise a target molecule through its size and functionalities. The way in which MIPs interact with their targets, and the magnitude of this interaction, is closely linked to the chemical properties derived during the polymerisation stages, which tailor them to their specific target. Hence, MIPs are in-deep studied in terms of their sensitivity and cross-reactivity, further being used for monitoring purposes of analytes in complex analytical samples. As MIPs are involved in sensor development within different approaches, a systematic optimisation and rational data-driven sensing is fundamental to obtaining a best-performant MIP sensor. In addition, the closer integration of MIPs in sensor development requires that the inner properties of the materials in terms of sensitivity and selectivity are maintained in the presence of competitive molecules, which focus is currently opened. Identifying computational models capable of predicting and reporting the best-performant configuration of electrochemical sensors based on MIPs is of immense importance. The application of chemometrics using design of experiments (DoE) is nowadays increasingly adopted during optimisation problems, which largely reduce the number of experimental trials. These approaches, together with the emergent machine learning (ML) tool in sensor data processing, represent the future trend in design and management of point-of-care configurations based on MIP sensing. This review provides an overview on the recent application of chemometrics tools in optimisation problems during development and analytical assessment of electrochemical sensors based on MIP receptors. A comprehensive discussion is first presented to cover the recent advancements on response surface methodologies (RSM) in optimisation studies of MIPs design. The development of sensitive point-of-care (POC) assay platforms is of interest for reducing the cost and time of diagnostics. Lateral flow assays (LFAs) are the gold standard for POC systems, but their sensitivity as such is inadequate, for example, in the case of cardiac diagnostics. The performance can be improved by incorporating different steps, such as pre-incubation to prolong the interaction time between sample and reporter for immunocomplex formation, and washing steps for background reduction. However, for POC assays, manual steps by the assay conductor are not desired. In this research, upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) were coated with poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and conjugated to anti-cTnI antibodies, yielding non-clustering particles with low non-specific binding. The performance of cTnI-LFA in the PAA-anti-cTnI-UCNPs was compared to the same UCNPs with a commercial carboxyl surface. A kitchen-timer mechanism was embedded in a 3D-printed housing to produce a low-cost actuator facilitating a timed pre-incubation step for reporter and sample, and a washing step, to enable a multi-step cTnI-LFA with minimized manual labour. PAA-UCNPs showed improved mobility on nitrocellulose compared to those with a commercial surface. The mechanical actuator system was shown to improve sensitivity compared to a labour-intensive multi-step dipstick method, despite pre-incubation occurring during shaking and heating in the dipstick method. The limit of detection decreased from 7.6 to 1.5 ng/L cTnI in human plasma. This study presents a groundbreaking approach for the early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and other urological disorders through an image-label-free, multi-dipstick identification method, eliminating the need for complex machinery, label libraries, or preset coordinates. Our research successfully identified reaction pads on 187 multi-dipsticks, each with 11 pads, leveraging machine learning algorithms trained on human urine data. This technique aims to surpass traditional colourimetric methods and concentration-colour curve fitting, offering more robust and precise community screening and home monitoring capabilities. The developed algorithms enhance the generalizability of machine learning models by extracting primary colours and correcting urine colours on each reaction pad. This method's cost-effectiveness and portability are significant, as it requires no additional equipment beyond a standard smartphone. The system's performance rivals professional medical equipment without auxiliary lighting or flash under regular indoor light conditions, effectively managing false positives and negatives across various categories with remarkable accuracy. In a controlled experimental setting, we found that random forest algorithms, based on a Bagging strategy and applied in the HSV colour space, showed optimal results in smartphone-assisted urinalysis. This study also introduces a novel urine colour correction method, significantly improving machine learning model performance. Additionally, ISO parameters were identified as crucial factors influencing the accuracy of smartphone-based urinalysis in the absence of additional lighting or optical configurations, highlighting the potential of this technology in low-resource settings., (© 2024. Enzyme activity assays play a crucial role in numerous fields, including biotechnology, the food industry, and clinical diagnostics. Lipases are particularly important enzymes due to their widespread use in lipid metabolism and esterification reactions. Here, we present a pioneering method for the sensitive and selective determination of lipase activity using green carbon dots (G-CDs) for first time. G-CDs are a fascinating class of carbon nanomaterials with unique optical properties and biocompatibility, making them ideal candidates for enzyme activity assays. This approach eliminates the need for traditional fluorophores or chromogenic substrates, reducing costs, fast response time (1 min), and environmental impact with a quantum yield (QY) of 7.42%. As designed, the G-CDs fluorescent probe turn-on demonstrated a reliable linear detection range from 0 to 9 mg/mL under ideal conditions, with detection limit of 0.01 mg/mL and limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.045 mg/mL, respectively. Furthermore, the G-CDs system was thoroughly evaluated in human serum samples, showing recoveries ranging from 100.0 to 105.0%. The rising crime rate associated with document forgery has a significant impact on public safety and social stability. In document fraud cases, determining the origin of a particular stamp-pad ink is the most important objective. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the volatile compounds in quick-drying stamp-pad inks from six commonly used brands were performed for the first time, utilizing a combination of headspace-gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS) and multivariate statistical analysis methods. Visual and comparative analysis of the differential volatile components among different stamp-pad ink samples was conducted using fingerprints and volcano plots. A total of 127 volatile compounds were accurately identified, with ketones, esters, alcohols, and aldehydes being the most abundant compounds in the stamp-pad inks. Hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA), including dendrograms and clustering heatmaps, was utilized to explore the correlations between these compounds and the samples. Additionally, the precise identification of positional isomers and functional group isomers of aliphatic compounds was achieved. To achieve accurate discrimination of various stamp-pad ink samples, a multivariate statistical analysis method was utilized to establish a classification model for them. Based on the results obtained from HS-GC-IMS, effective discrimination among different brands of stamp-pad ink samples was achieved through principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA). The model exhibited excellent performance, with the fit index of dependent variables (R 2 Y) and the predictive index of the model (Q 2 ) values of 0.99 and 0.984, respectively. These results provided significant theoretical evidence for the application of HS-GC-IMS as an efficient technique in the analysis of volatile compounds, identification of positional isomers and functional group isomers, as well as tracing the origin of stamp-pad ink and analyzing the formation time of documents., (© 2024. A novel portable smartphone-assisted colorimetric method was reported for the determination of Hg 2+ with good analytical performance. A Zr(IV)-based metal-organic framework functionalized with amino groups (NH 2 -UiO-66) has been adopted as a supporting platform to anchor gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), avoiding the migration and aggregation of AuNPs. With the addition of Hg 2+ , the formation of gold amalgam proved possible to enhance peroxidase-like activity of the composite (AuNPs/NH 2 -UiO-66), accelerating the oxidization of zymolyte 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). In the meantime, the color of the reaction solution turned a vivid blue, and the red, green, and blue (RGB) values of the solution color changed accordingly. On account of this strategy, the quantitative detection of Hg 2+ could be achieved. After the optimization of the experiment conditions, the average color intensity (I c ) resulting from RGB values was linear related to the concentration of Hg 2+ from 10 to 100 nM, accompanied with a detection limit (LOD) down to 5.4 nM calculated by 3σ/S. The successful application of the designed method has been promoted to detect Hg 2+ in some water samples, displaying a great potential in practical application. In this work, we are pleased to present for the first time a 3D-printed electrochemical device using a lab-made conductive filament based on graphite (Gr) and polylactic acid (PLA) polymer matrix for the simultaneous detection of amoxicillin (AMX) and paracetamol (PAR). The sensor was properly characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Compared to the commercial glassy carbon electrode (GCE), the superior performance of the 3D-Gr/PLA electrode was verified with a 3.8-fold more favored charge transfer. A differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method was proposed providing a linear working range of 4 to 12 μmol L -1 for both analytes and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.80 and 0.51 μmol L -1 for AMX and PAR, respectively. Additionally, repeatability studies (n = 5, RSD < 5.7%) indicated excellent precision, and recovery percentages ranging from 89 to 109% when applied to synthetic human urine, saliva, and plasma samples, attested to the accuracy of the method. The studies also indicate that the sensor does not suffer significant interference from common substances (antibiotics and biomarkers) present in the biological fluids, which makes it a promising analytical tool considering its low-cost, ease of manufacturing, robustness, and electrochemical performance., (© 2023. Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a persistent inflammation of the sinonasal mucosa. CRSwNP treatments are associated with inconsistent efficacy and recurrence of symptoms. Dynorphin 1-17 (DYN 1-17) and its fragments have been shown to modulate the immune response in various inflammatory conditions. This study aimed to investigate the effect of different pH and degrees of inflammation on DYN 1-17 metabolism in human CRSwNP tissues. DYN 1-17 was incubated with grade 3 and grade 4 inflamed tissues of CRSwNP patients at pH 5.5 and pH 7.4 over a range of incubation periods. The resulting fragments were identified using an ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) system coupled to quadrupole-time of flight (QTOF) mass spectrometry based on their accurate mass. The rate of DYN 1-17 fragmentation was slower at pH 5.5 in comparison to pH 7.4. The extent and rate of metabolism of DYN 1-17 were much lower in grade 3 inflamed tissue (31-32 fragments) than in grade 4 (34-41 fragments). N-Terminal fragments (DYN 1-15, 1-11, 1-10, and 1-6) were metabolized slower at pH 5.5 as compared to pH 7.4. DYN 1-12, 1-8, 2-10, 4-10, 5-10, and 8-14 were only observed under the inflammatory pH while DYN 5-17 and 6-17 were only identified upon incubation with grade 4 CRSwNP tissues. DYN 1-17 metabolism was significantly affected by the pH level and the severity of the inflammation of CRSwNP tissues, indicating the potential roles of DYN 1-17 and its fragments in modulating the inflammatory response and their avenue as therapeutics in future studies., (© 2023.
