The effect of increase in regional draining venous pressure on the response of mesoappendix microvasculature and microcirculation was studied by direct microscopic methods in vivo. In 9 out of 21 experiments in pentobarbital anesthetized rats, elevation of ileo-colic vein pressure (13.0 ± 1.3 mm Hg; mean and SE) above resting levels (9.9 ± 2.2 mm Hg) resulted in persistent lumen expansion of small venular microvessels (18-68 µm, i.d.) and evoked a vasoconstrictor response of consecutive segments of pre-capillary vessels and the sphincter. The vasoconstricor response was stimulus-dependent and reversible. The lumen reductions in percent for 9 arterioles (21.0 ± 4.37 µm, i.d.) 9 metarterioles (9.3 ± 1.57 µm, i.d.), and 5 precapillary sphincters (5.7 ± 1.23 µm, i.d.) were: 17.9 ± 6.60, 43.6 ± 4.20, and 96.0 ± 3.81, respectively. In none of the experiments did the response propagate to larger arteriolar segments ( > 35–38 µm, i.d.) in the tissue under observation. These microscopic studies confirmed the presence of a venous-pre-capillary and sphincter constrictor response in splanchnic vasculature in the rat.

This study uses activated carbon from bagasse as adsorbent by 75 mg in 200 grams of used cooking oil. Used oil is cooking oil that has been worn for 10 hours and comes from the restaurant industry. Activated carbon is made from leftover bagasse disposal is carbonized at a temperature of 600 oC for 2 hours and was activated by NaCl and 30 % test quality with iodine adsorption test. The test results of iodine adsorption test on activated carbon bagasse is 795,56 mg g and has met the SNI standard. The results showed that the peroxide used cooking oil, oil despicing results, the results of neutralization and bleaching results using bagasse activated charcoal in a row is 10,12 meq/kg, 8,62 meq/kg, 6,04 meq/kg, and 3,93 meq/kg. While the results of the determination of free fatty acids (FFA) on used cooking oil, despicing results, the results of neutralization and bleaching results using bagasse activated charcoal in a row is 2,4 %, 2,016 %, 0,88 % and 0,49 %. The results of the determination of peroxide and free fatty acids (FFA) has not met the quality standard of cooking oil (SNI), but is able to improve the quality of cooking oil.

This study examined the effect of same-sex peer models perceived as similar, neutral, or dissimilar on two types of altruistic behaviour in fifth grade children. The dependent variable was altruistic responses, operationally defined as penny donations and volunteering of service time to work on a charitable project. A two-factor design was employed for each experiment in which the three treatment conditions: model-similar, model-neutral, model-dissimilar, and the no-model control group were nested within the sex factor. A total sample of 320 subjects for both experiments was drawn from six public elementary schools in North Burnaby. The research questions for the two experiments were: 1. Does the presence of a model elicit more donations of money and service time for charitable purposes in fifth grade children than no model? 2. Does the similarity shared between the observer and model affect the donations of money and service time for charitable purposes? 3. Are there any sex differences in donating money and service time for charitable purposes? Each subject was interviewed individually by an experimenter who attempted to manipulate through a verbal description the perceptions of a peer-model. Following a brief introduction the subject observed the model play a marble game through which rewards of pennies or five-minute time tokens were dispensed on a pre-determined schedule. The subject then played a game alone and received either money or time tokens which could be contributed by dropping them into a donation can before leaving the experimental room. The no-model control group played the game alone following initial instructions from the experimenter. The data was analyzed by an ANOVA and orthogonal comparisons of the means of the different treatment groups. As hypothesized, a same-sex peer model was more effective in eliciting altruistic responses than no model. The greater the real or assumed similarity between the observer and model the more effective the model was in eliciting penny and service donations. The presence of a model perceived as similar was significantly more effective in eliciting money donations and service time than a model perceived as dissimilar. No sex differences were found in the donations of money or time to work on a charitable project.

Cuando nos referimos a la parte alta de Huallaga Central, estamos nombrando a la zona del proyecto que por su ubicación ecológica presenta las mayores restricciones de clima, ya que de acuerdo al mapa ecológico del Perú, se encuentra ocupando la formación denominada bosque muy húmedo subtropical (BMH-ST), y con el bosque pluvial subtropical y el bosque muy húmedo tropical. Los datos meteorológicos que permiten diferenciar estas formaciones ecológicas, han sido tomados de las estaciones meteorológicas de Tocache, 6 años de observaciones y Tingo María, 10 años de observaciones. Menciona la trascendencia e importancia de la parte alta del Huallaga Central en relación al aprovechamiento de los recursos naturales que posee, siendo considerado como un programa experimental en gran escala que permitirá demostrar en forma definitiva la posibilidad de logros afectivos en la conquista de la selva alta peruana.

Incluye la descripción de los perfiles representativos para cada serie de suelos, identificados en las tierras bajas, tierras medias y tierras altas, así como también los resultados de los análisis de laboratorio. Se anexan también los mapas de suelos y capacidad de uso reducidos a escala 1:40,000.
