Abstract
- The Wisconsin University Daily Cardinal recently published an editorial entitled, "Don't Be Silly." The writer related that in a Paris cafe an American man made a comment which a Parisian interpreted as an insult. At once, in a manner now so well observed in musical comedy, the Parisian leaped to his feet and challenged his "enemy" to a duel. On which the American grinned at him across the table, and said kindly: "Don't be silly. The national student attitude as a whole on the matter of militarism has been supine and subservient to tradition.
