The article focuses on the study of stars in science teaching. In Colton Junior High School in California, star charts were held over head to read them and they were also copied into notebooks to be used as a reference for evening observations. Constellations appearing in the East early in the evening are on the eastern part of the ceiling and walls; those to the North on the northern part of the room. Pupils choose the committees themselves for beginning research to find out all about the night sky. Members of the science classes cut stars from colored papers and made the sizes corresponding to actual star magnitudes. Each day the children came in eager for sharing what they saw the previous night in the sky. By observing the ceiling of stars the young future scientists got motivation for observing the sky at night. Other daytime observations included the moon, when it was there, and sun spots. This stimulating interest in the night sky was the result of development and motivation by putting the stars overhead.
