The International Paper Conservation Seminar has now been held as four face-to-face events and four online events. It is a three-day international event delivered in Spanish and Portugese with keynote talks from national and international conservation professionals from Mexico to Chile presenting projects covering works on paper in diverse formats including documents, photographs historic books, and artworks. Countries such as Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, Spain and Costa Rica have sent delegates to discuss both the social and cultural aspects of conservation work. The seminar is a completely free event for its attendees. It is intended to be suitable for all, with high-level talks addressing issues of management, preservation, conservation, restoration and disaster recovery among many others. From the third event onwards, training workshops for basic treatments have been developed, with the participation of recognized conservation professionals from universities and international institutes, allowing the number of attendees to remain constant since the Covid-19 pandemic. It creates networks and fosters collaboration for professional and institutional projects. The seminars have generated a connected and active community of paper conservators in the region, aware of our limitations, and capable of solving problems collaboratively and according to local resources. SOCIAL work students , *SOCIAL skills , *SOCIAL services , *PROFESSIONAL education , *TECHNICAL education - Abstract
The present investigation is aimed at investigating a topic of great importance for the training of students of the specialty technician in social work, in technical and professional education. It refers to the urgent need to base the formation of scientific investigative skills in students of the social work specialty technician specialty as a social problem that needs science and technology for its solution. The investigation had an explanatory character and assumed the dialectical-materialist method. For the development of the investigative process, a bibliographic review was carried out in databases such as SciELO and Google Scholar, on the formation of scientific-investigative skills, as well as the definitions of science and technology, and the relationship between both categories. For the search strategy, combinations of keywords were used such as: training, scientific investigative skills, social work, science and technology. In addition, the model of the specialty professional was analyzed, as well as the subject programs, to confront how the training of scientific-investigative skills had been treated. What allowed to obtain the necessary information to give an answer to the problem posed; that demonstrates the potential of science and technology for the formation of scientific-investigative skills of future professionals, in correspondence with the demands of the current context. JOURNALISM students , *JOURNALISM education , *PSYCHOLOGICAL resilience , *INTERPERSONAL communication , *EMPLOYEE rights - Abstract
This study explores journalism students' responses to hazards and hostility in the profession within a Safety of Journalists course. The research uses focus group interviews, field notes, study diaries, written tasks, and Teams' chat logs of 11 students. Students' reactions to the hazards highlight the importance of awareness for finding solutions and developing resilience. Proposed solutions include fostering self-assurance, enhancing interpersonal communication, setting boundaries to prevent burnout, and recognizing the significance of workers' rights. However, finding some solutions was hindered by students' experiences of media organizations neglecting worker well-being. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BRAIN concussion , *SPORTS journalism , *PUBLIC opinion , *JOURNALISM students , *EXAMINATIONS - Abstract
Concussions are an important issue facing the short- and long-term health of athletes. News media play an important role in shaping public perceptions of concussions. However, such coverage often provides inaccurate information, disinformation, and/or trivializes concussions. To address the problem, the Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) provides workshops to teach journalists to responsibly report about concussions during live and post-competition coverage. Spearheaded by journalism instructors, the present study tested the effectiveness of the workshops through an experiment with 90 college journalism students. Students who completed the training showed improvement in scores on a "concussion in sport" literacy exam. They also performed better on the examination than students in a control condition. Results suggest the training is effective and could be standardized for those studying to work in the field of sports journalism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
During the Second Republic in Spain, high infant mortality led the government to implement health policies focused on prevention and health promotion. The National School of Puericulture was created, highlighting the importance of specialized training to address child health. Despite being founded in 1923, the institution consolidated its activities and statutes in 1935. The training of Puericulture Visitors at the school was crucial to act as a link between doctors and families, promoting health education. During the period before the civil war, training activities intensified, and the School became essential for the implementation of preventive policies. With the outbreak of the civil war in 1936, the situation changed dramatically. Despite adapting to the new circumstances, with the calling of abbreviated courses, the commitment to training specialized professionals remained. Calls, such as the one in 1937 in Valencia, reflect the need for trained personnel amid the war. This study reveals the importance of health policies in crisis contexts and the adaptation of training to changing circumstances, emphasizing the relevance of maintaining attention to childhood even in times of emergency. This research article analyses the emotional management of 46 teachers in the department of Boyacá (Colombia) according to their level of professional teaching experience, from the theoretical perspective of Mayer and Salovey's emotional skills. It uses a descriptive-comparative process with different perspectives across three stages: quantitative, qualitative and mixed. It also utilizes the MSCEIT emotional intelligence questionnaire, a semi-structured interview, and an observational analysis. The results show competent development of teachers' emotional skills, but with statistically significant differences in emotional management by experience. The teachers also mention in their narratives that the emotional management that occurs in school interactions and in the educational process has two facets: difficulties and positive emotional management. Similarly, the gestures that are part of non-verbal emotional communication that supports this skill are established. Therefore, it is concluded that emotional management as a skill decreases as experience increases, given that emotional experiences in the classroom generate stress, emotional exhaustion, and even leaving the profession.
