BackgroundObtaining comprehensive epidemic information for specific global infectious diseases is crucial to travel health. However, different infectious disease information websites may have different purposes, which may lead to misunderstanding by travelers and travel health staff when making accurate epidemic control and management decisions. ObjectiveThe objective of this study was to develop a Global Infectious Diseases Epidemic Information Monitoring System (GIDEIMS) in order to provide comprehensive and timely global epidemic information. MethodsDistributed web crawler and cloud agent acceleration technologies were used to automatically collect epidemic information about more than 200 infectious diseases from 26 established epidemic websites and Baidu News. Natural language processing and in-depth learning technologies have been utilized to intelligently process epidemic information collected in 28 languages. Currently, the GIDEIMS presents world epidemic information using a geographical map, including date, disease name, reported cases in different countries, and the epidemic situation in China. In order to make a practical assessment of the GIDEIMS, we compared infectious disease data collected from the GIDEIMS and other websites on July 16, 2019. ResultsCompared with the Global Incident Map and Outbreak News Today, the GIDEIMS provided more comprehensive information on human infectious diseases. The GIDEIMS is currently used in the Health Quarantine Department of Shenzhen Customs District (Shenzhen, China) and was recommended to the Health Quarantine Administrative Department of the General Administration of Customs (China) and travel health–related departments. ConclusionsThe GIDEIMS is one of the most intelligent tools that contributes to safeguarding the health of travelers, controlling infectious disease epidemics, and effectively managing public health in China.

Current porous materials for gas storage, such as methane and hydrogen, require extreme temperatures or pressures, limiting their practical application. Here, we propose a novel method for high-density gas storage within nanoporous materials at ambient pressure by leveraging the natural properties of water. Specifically, we demonstrate that silicalite-1, which maintains dry micropores while its surface is wetted by water, can effectively encapsulate gas molecules at elevated pressures when the surrounding water is frozen into ice. The gas remains securely stored at temperatures below the freezing point, and its release is easily controlled by moderate heating above the freezing point. With the prevalence of renewable energy sources such as wind power in the power system, analyzing the fault characteristics of systems composed of DFIGs is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, this article analyzes, at first theoretically, the fault characteristics of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) during fault periods. It was found that the fault current of the DFIG exhibited the frequency offset phenomenon, which is affected by the depth of voltage dips and can negatively impact traditional distance protection. Furthermore, a method using a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) based on superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) was adopted to compensate for the fault voltage of DFIG, which can mitigate the voltage dips of the DFIG. This method can not only achieve the fault ride through for DFIG but also significantly improve the frequency offset of the fault current during fault periods. Finally, a model composed of a 2.5 MW DFIG-based wind turbine and a 2.5 MW DVR-based SMES was built using a real-time digital simulator (RTDS) platform, and the simulation results showed that the fault stator voltage of DFIG can be compensated at a rated value of 0.69 kV, and the frequency of fault current can be maintained at 50 Hz These results validate the excellent performance of the method in achieving the fault ride through of DFIG and improving the frequency offset of the fault current by comparing multiple type faults while employing different protection methods. The key to achieve a highly sensitive and specific protein microarray assay is to prevent nonspecific protein adsorption to an 'absolute' zero level because any signal amplification method will simultaneously amplify signal and noise. Here, we develop a novel solid supporting material, namely, polymer coated initiator integrated poly(dimethysiloxane) (iPDMS), which was able to achieve such 'absolute' zero (i.e., below the detection limit of instrument). The implementation of this iPDMS enables practical and high-quality multiplexed enzyme-linked immunoserbent assay (ELISA) of 11 tumor markers. This iPDMS does not need any blocking steps and only require mild washing conditions. It also uses on an average 8-fold less capture antibodies compared with the mainstream nitrocellulose (NC) film. Besides saving time and materials, iPDMS achieved a limit-of-detection (LOD) as low as 19 pg [mL.sup.-1], which is sufficiently low for most current clinical diagnostic applications. We expect to see an immediate impact of this iPDMS on the realization of the great potential of protein microarray in research and practical uses such as large scale and high-throughput screening, clinical diagnosis, inspection, and quarantine. 10.1021/ac101277e
