We describe Crustwater, a statistical mechanical model of nonpolar solvation in water. It treats bulk water using the Cage Water model and introduces a crust, i.e., a solvation shell of coordinated partially structured waters. Crustwater is analytical and fast to compute. We compute here solvation vs temperature over the liquid range, and vs pressure and solute size. Its thermal predictions are as accurate as much more costly explicit models such as TIP4P/2005. This modeling gives new insights into the hydrophobic effect: (1) that oil-water insolubility in cold water is due to solute-water (SW) translational entropy and not water-water (WW) orientations, even while hot water is dominated by WW cage breaking, and (2) that a size transition at the Angstrom scale, not the nanometer scale, takes place as previously predicted.

Let be a finite and simple graph. The energy, of is defined as the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of . In this article, we study the energy of strong products of multipartite graphs. Also we obtain examples of energy for these graphs.

Designs over edge-regular, co-edge-regular and amply regular graphs are investigated. Using linear algebra, we obtain lower bounds in certain inequalities involving the parameters of the designs. Some results on designs meeting the bounds are obtained. These designs are over connected regular graphs with least eigenvalue $$-2$$ , have the minimal number of blocks and do not appear in an earlier work. Partial classification such designs over strongly regular graphs with least eigenvalue $$-2$$ is given.

A goal in computational chemistry is computing hydration free energies of nonpolar and charged solutes accurately, but with much greater computational speeds than in today's explicit-water simulations. Here, we take one step in that direction: a simple model of solvating waters that is analytical and thus essentially instantaneous to compute. Each water molecule is a 2-dimensional dipolar hydrogen-bonding disk that interacts around small circular solutes with different nonpolar and charge interactions. The model gives good qualitative agreement with experiments. As a function of the solute radius, it gives the solvation free energy, enthalpy and entropy as a function of temperature for the inert gas series Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe. For anions and cations, it captures relatively well the trends versus ion radius. This approach should be readily generalizable to three dimensions.

Background: A number of heart diseases such as autoimmune myocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and ischemic heart disease are recently being reported among celiac patients. Studies have also demonstrated subclinical cardiac dysfunction and clustering of many traditional cardiovascular risk factors in children with celiac disease. Objective: The present study was conducted for echocardiographic and biochemical assessment of children with celiac disease. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted among 36 children (aged 1–16 years) who were newly diagnosed with celiac disease and age- and sex-matched controls. Venous blood samples were assessed for serum C-reactive protein (CRP), folic acid, Vitamin B12, and homocysteine levels, and fasting lipid profile including total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglycerides (TG) levels using appropriate methods. Echocardiographic parameters were measured by M-mode ultrasonography measuring left atrial dimension (LAD), left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDD), right ventricular diastolic diameter (RVDD), interventricular septal thickness at end-diastole (IVSd), left ventricular posterior wall thickness at end-diastole (LVPWd), aortic root dimension (ARD), and ejection fraction (EF). Results: Among the echocardiographic parameters, EF was significantly lower while other parameters such as LAD, LVEDD, RVDD, IVSd, LVPWd, and ARD showed no significant increase among the cases. Significantly lower levels of TC, HDL-C, and LDL-C with normal TG, CRP, Vitamin B12, and folic acid levels with significantly increased serum homocysteine levels were noted among cases. Conclusion: A significant difference in EF and the presence of biochemical risk factors for cardiovascular diseases warrants further detailed evaluation and follow-up with regular monitoring of cardiac functions.

Introduction: Increasing cardiovascular risk in celiac disease (CD) may be attributed to the chronic systemic inflammation and unfavorable biochemical profile leading to accelerated atherosclerosis. Carotid intimal medial thickness (CIMT) has emerged as a direct marker of the early atherosclerosis as compared to traditional biochemical markers. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the CIMT in children with CD aged 1–16 years. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted at the department of Pediatrics and Radio Diagnosis in a tertiary care hospital of New Delhi. Thirty-six children with CD with age- and sex-matched controls were enrolled. CIMT for the anterior and posterior walls on each side was measured, and the mean CIMT was obtained for all the enrolled children. Results: The mean right-sided CIMT was significantly higher in cases (0.053±0.009 cm vs. 0.039±0.007 cm, p=0.000). The mean left-sided CIMT did not significantly differ between the groups (0.051±0.009 cm vs. 0.048±0.055 cm, p=0.702). The mean CIMT (right and left together), although higher in Celiacs, was not significantly different from controls (0.052±0.008 cm and 0.044±0.029 cm, p=0.114). However, a significant positive correlation between the age of the patients, age at the onset of symptoms, and CIMT was noted. Conclusion: Although we could not demonstrate statistically significant results, the mean CIMT and the right-sided measurements were significantly higher in cases than in controls.

The research paper study the equivalent stress and shear stress generated on the pin due to friction between pin and links of a pantograph mechanism. The pin is subjected to biaxial loading of varying magnitude. The analysis comprises CAD model and simulated using a FEM solver. Materials of pin and links are selected considering real life applications and their coefficient of friction values are referred from variety of sources. Both static and dynamic coefficient of friction values are taken into consideration for analysis. Results thus obtained are tabulated and graphically demonstrated for better understanding of the outcomes. To compare the physical growth outcomes, morbidity profile and mortality at an age of 12 months among late preterm (340/7 to 366/7) neonates to term (370/7 to 416/7) neonates. Prospective cohort study. A tertiary care center of Northern India during 2014-2015. 200 apparently healthy late preterms and term infants, followed up to 12 months of age. Physical growth parameters, morbidity profile and mortality. At mean age of 12 months, mean (SD) weight, length and head circumference of late preterms were 7.4 (0.8) kg, 69.2 (2.5) cm and 43.0 (1.1) cm, respectively; which were significantly lower than that of the full term infants [8.7 (1.6) kg, 72.2 (3.1) cm and 44.2 (1.1) cm] (P < 0.001). On univariate analysis, late preterm group was associated with higher odds (95% CI) of being underweight [5.6 (3.4, 5.5)], stunted [3.5 (2.1, 5.8)] and wasted [3.6 (1.9, 6.9)]. On multivariate analysis, only adjusted odds of late preterms becoming underweight by one year was significant [OR 4.1; 95% CI (1.6, 10.4)]. Feeding difficulties, jaundice and re-hospitalization rates were significantly higher in the late preterm group. Extra-hepatic portal venous obstruction is most common cause of portal hypertension in children. Apart from variceal formation in gastric and esophageal mucosal layer, it has been postulated that external pressure and or ischemic injury play a role in portal biliopathy. We report an unusual case of a 6 month old infant who presented to us with clinical features suggestive of extra-hepatic biliary atresia; diagnosed as EHPVO with portal biliopathy, managed surgically.

In this paper, level Shifter circuit is analyzed which is efficient for converting low-voltage digital input signal into high-voltage digital output signal. The circuit has a diagnostic current generation device by using a logic error correction circuit that work by identifying the input and output logic level .When input signal changes, circuit produce low power operation only because it can dissipate power at the operating current. For the comparative analysis of this error correction Level Shifter different methodologies are used which named as biasing for the level Shifter. Result shows that the circuit converts a 0.4-V input signal to 3-V output signal. Simulation results are carried out by using 0.35μm CMOS technology. Power dissipation is 34nW for a 0.4V at 10 kHz input pulse. General Terms Low power design, leakage power, power dissipation, delay.

Resilience is the ability to sustain and evolve in uncertainty and potential disruptions. The building of the resilient supply chain is a long term continuous process that involves the identification and implementation of factors responsible for nurturing the resilience ability. In this research work, we identify the resilient supply chain factors and analyse it through a structural modelling approach. The prominence-causal diagram and Matrice d'Impacts croises-multiplication applique and classment (MICMAC) analysis reveal that factors belong to two broad categories, i.e., influential and influenced groups. Further, the hierarchical structure suggests that 'developing the risk management culture' in the supply chain is the most crucial factor for a resilient supply chain. This research work will help the academicians and decision-makers to understand the significant factors of a resilient supply chain and help the managers in the allocation of the available resources suitably to improve specific resilience dimensions or capability.

The ability of an item to perform a required function under stated conditions for a specified period of time. The main objective of this work is to analyze and estimate the reliability of a transmission line and thirteen stage ring oscillator as interconnects using GPDK 45 nm CMOS technology. As we know that reliability basically depends on HCI NBTI, PBTI and TDDB. Basically in this paper for the performance analysis we have analyzed the results in terms of transient response, delivered power by every component and noise analysis on different incident of time. In this work the reliability factors are done by comparing power, delay and output voltage after a specific amount of time.

A capacitor-less low drop-out (LDO) regulator for SoC applications with buffer based compensation technique is proposed in this paper. The 1.6 V LDO with a power supply of 1.8 V is implemented in GPDK 0.18 μm CMOS technology and it achieves a PSRR of 70 dB up to 1 kHz for load currents up to 10 mA. It makes use of PMOS folded cascode error amplifier to lower the flicker noise. Simulation results verify that the proposed LDO is stable for a capacitive load from 0 to 30 pF and with a load capability of 10 mA and has a drop-out voltage of 200 mV. The layout of the design shows that the area acquired on the chip is approximately equal to 0.79 mm2.

Performance and reliability analysis tests the VLSI circuits over a prolonged period of time at different conditions. Therefore, performance and reliability of an inverter circuit and two CMOS gate interconnect circuit, a combination of two inverters connected with an RC model as an interconnect structure has been analyzed. Reliability in VLSI circuits depends on hot carrier injection, negative biasing temperature instability, positive biasing temperature instability and time-dependent gate oxide breakdown. Reliability is analyzed by comparing power, delay and output voltage. The complete analysis is done using 45nm gpdk (generic process design kit) in Cadence Virtuoso.

Objectives: To compare neutral and lowered shoulder position on successful right subclavian vein Catheterisation in children. Materials and Methods: A randomized control trial was conducted on 40 children aged upto 14 years of age in whom central vein catheterization was planned. Patients were randomized using computer generated random numbers into two groups either neutral or lowered shoulder position during subclavian vein puncture and guide wire insertion. Block randomisation was used for allocation into groups. Sequentially numbered opaque sealed envelops were used for allocation concealment. Data on number of attempts, successful catheterization and complications were collected. Results: Both the groups were similar w.r.t age, weight, hight and gender distribution. Rate of successful subclavian catheterization were similar in both the groups [(neutral-90s% versus lowered-95%) with a nonsignificant p-value 0.46].The complication rates were also similar with a p value of 0.18. Conclusion: Both the shoulder positions were associated with similar success rates of subclavian catheterization and complications.

Neonatal Chikungunya infection in postnatal period is a rare entity. Clinical presentation varies from a simple febrile illness with or without centrofacial hyperpigmentation to symptoms like poor feeding, lethargy, apnea and seizures. Here, we report a case where chikungunya infection was suspected and confirmed by IgM serology, which was positive in the baby and negative in mother.
