We consider a cylinder immersed in viscous fluid moving near a flat substrate covered by an incompressible viscoelastic fluid layer, and study the effect of the fluid viscoelasticity on the lift force exerted on the cylinder. The lift force is zero when the viscoelastic layer is not deformed, but becomes non-zero when it is deformed. We calculate the lift force by considering both the tangential stress and the normal stress applied at the surface of the viscoelastic layer. Our analysis indicates that as the layer changes from the elastic limit to the viscous limit, the lift force decreases with the decrease of the Deborah number (De). For small De, the effect of the layer elasticity is taken over by the surface tension and the lift force can become negative. We also show that the tangential stress and the interface slip velocity (the surface velocity relative to the substrate), which have been ignored in the previous analysis, give important contributions to the lift force. This paper presents a numerical method to solve the non-linear vibration problem of composite structures made of many unidirectional fibers/matrix layers. To take into account damping properties of structures, fractional derivative Zener model for complex moduli is used in each layer. The frequency dependence of these models leads to a non-linear vibration problem. To solve it, a High Order Newton (HON) solver based on homotopy and perturbation techniques is proposed. Thus, the initial non-linear problem turns into a set of linear systems, easier to solve. In the context of soft matter and cellular mechanics, microrheology - the use of micron-sized particles to probe the frequency-dependent viscoelastic response of materials – is widely used to shed light onto the mechanics and dynamics of molecular structures. Here we present the implementation of active microrheology in an Acoustic Force Spectroscopy setup (AFMR), which combines multiplexing with the possibility of probing a wide range of forces (~ pN to ~nN) and frequencies (0.01–100 Hz). To demonstrate the potential of this approach, we perform active microrheology on biological samples of increasing complexity and stiffness: collagen gels, red blood cells (RBCs), and human fibroblasts, spanning a viscoelastic modulus range of five orders of magnitude. We show that AFMR can successfully quantify viscoelastic properties by probing many beads with high single-particle precision and reproducibility. Finally, we demonstrate that AFMR to map local sample heterogeneities as well as detect cellular responses to drugs. An in-depth characterization of single-particle active microrheology via Acoustic Force Spectroscopy shows potential to measure viscoelastic moduli spanning five orders of magnitude and local heterogeneity in collagen gels and cells. Melatonin influences arterial biomechanics, and its absence could cause remodeling of the arterial wall, leading to increased stiffness. Direct effects of fentanyl on the aortic wall have also been observed previously. This study aimed to evaluate in vitro the effects of fentanyl on aortic viscoelasticity in a rat model of melatonin deficiency and to test the hypothesis that melatonin deficiency leads to increased arterial wall stiffness. The viscoelasticity was estimated in strip preparations from pinealectomized (pin, melatonin deficiency) and sham-operated (sham, normal melatonin) adult rats using the forced oscillations method. In the untreated aortic wall pin, the viscoelasticity was not significantly altered. However, combined with 10−9 M fentanyl, the pin increased the natural frequency (f0) and modulus of elasticity (E') compared to the sham-operated. Independently, fentanyl treatment decreased f0 and E' compared separately to untreated sham and pin preparations. The effects of fentanyl were neither dose-dependent nor affected by naloxone, suggesting a non-opioid mechanism. Furthermore, an independent effect of naloxone was also detected in the normal rat aortic wall, resulting in reduced E'. Additional studies are needed that may improve the clinical decisions for pain management and anesthesia for certain patients with co-occurring chronic low levels of blood plasma melatonin and some diseases. This article proposes a numerical routine to predict the residual stresses developing in an epoxy component during its curing. The scaling of viscoelastic properties with the temperature and the degree of conversion is modeled, adopting a mathematical formulation that considers the concurrent effects of curing and structural relaxation on the epoxy's viscoelastic relaxation time. The procedure comprises two moduli: at first, the thermal–kinetical problem is solved using the thermal module of Ansys and a homemade routine written in APDL, then the results in terms of temperature and the degree of conversion profiles are used to evaluate the viscoelastic functions, and the structural problem is solved in the mechanical module of Ansys, allowing the residual stresses calculation. A few experiments have reported that the time development of shear stress under fast-startup shear deformations exhibits double peaks before reaching a steady state for bimodal blends of entangled linear polymers under specific conditions. To understand this phenomenon, multi-chain slip-link simulations, based on the primitive chain network model, were conducted on the literature data of a bimodal polystyrene solution. Owing to reasonable agreement between their data and our simulation results, the stress was decomposed into contributions from long- and short-chain components and decoupled into segment number, stretch, and orientation. The analysis revealed that the first and second peaks correspond to the short-chain orientation and the long-chain stretch, respectively. The results also implied that the peak positions are not affected by the mixing of short and long chains, although the intensity of the second peak depends on mixing conditions in a complicated manner. Dried abalones are precious products, in which candy abalone is the most treasured one, owing to its unique taste. After rehydration and simmering, the core part tastes extraordinarily tender and viscoelastic, just like a soft candy which may almost melt in mouth. However, the reason for this has yet to be elucidated. The purpose of this study is to research the formation mechanism of the candy-like core in candy abalone. First of all, we characterized the viscoelasticity, microstructure and protein changes of candy abalone during the simmering process. The texture results indicated that the springiness and adhesiveness of candy abalone showed an increase. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy suggested that myofibrillar protein in candy abalone formed a dense three-dimensional network hydrogel structure. Sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis revealed such a hydrogel structure might be derived from the degradation of the myofibrillar protein during the drying process. Also, we identified degraded peptides mainly stemmed from paramyosin by mass spectrometry. Moreover, molecular dynamics simulation revealed that the hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions are mainly responsible for the self-assembly of peptides during the rehydration and simmering stages. Different from reported protein hydrogels, the rheological and morphological properties of the formed peptide hydrogels in candy abalone have significant changes. In this study, we found that the myofibrillar protein of fresh abalone degraded into peptides during the drying process, which further cross-linked to form a peptide hydrogel during the rehydration and simmering stages, thereby producing a unique viscoelastic candy-like core in candy abalone. In classical experiments, it has been found that a rigid cylinder can roll both on and under an inclined rubber plane with a friction force that depends on a power law of velocity, independent of the sign of the normal force. Further, contact area increases significantly with velocity with a related power law. We try to model qualitatively these experiments with a numerical boundary element solution with a standard linear solid and we find for sufficiently large Maugis–Tabor parameter λ qualitative agreement with experiments. However, friction force increases linearly with velocity at low velocities (like in the case with no adhesive hysteresis) and then decays at large speeds. Quantitative agreement with the Persson–Brener theory of crack propagation is found for the two power law regimes, but when Maugis–Tabor parameter λ is small, the cut-off stress in Persson–Brener theory depends on all the other dimensionless parameters of the problem. At present, structural analysis of polymer composite materials is a highly relevant issue. The complexity of taking into account the viscoelastic stress–strain dependence and the time-dependent distribution of stress–strain state parameters over the volume occupied by a solid is a limiting factor. The relevance and demand for new efficient methods of mathematical modeling of creep and relaxation processes in viscoelastic structures are obvious. The aim of this work is to verify and validate the method for solving boundary value problems of a linear viscoelastic solid. The proposed approach is based on the formulation of the generalized principle of correspondence between elastic and viscoelastic problems, according to which a viscoelastic solution can be obtained by replacing elastic constants by some time functions, which are hereinafter called time-effective moduli. The results derived from the theoretical validation and the solution of several problems suggest that the proposed method can be used for solving problems on the stress–strain state of viscoelastic structures. An exact similarity solution is worked out for fluid motion in the vicinity of a cylindrical surface in an electrically conducting viscoelastic fluid obeying the Jeffrey model. Cylindrical surface expands axially with linear velocity and has a prescribed surface temperature. The present analysis focuses on the partial slip assumption which gives rise to a nonlinear case Robin-type (mixed) boundary condition in axial velocity. In contrast to a previously published study (J. Mech., vol 31, pp. 69–78, 2015) which only reported local similarity solutions in no-slip case, the present work provides an exact similarity analysis by defining a quadratic surface temperature. The effects of the magnetic field and Joule heating on the momentum and thermal transport phenomena are also scrutinized. A numerical routine is used to solve the equation accurately for a wide range of fluid parameters, including ranges that could not be handled by previous approximate analytical methods that were limited to the no-slip limit. The influences of viscoelasticity and partial slip on the flow behavior are investigated, and the coefficient of skin friction for a Jeffrey fluid is calculated. Obtained results are consistent with the previously published works under special situations. Despite the common use of the standard linear solid model (SLSM) in viscoelasticity, the physical significance as well as the difference between the Maxwell and Kelvin forms of SLSM are still not clear. This paper demonstrates that each parameter of those two models has its specific physical meaning, and introduces the relationships allowing the transformations between those parameters. Regardless of their physical significance, those two models are equivalent in terms of their mathematical properties. Hence, no matter which model is chosen, consistent analysis results can always be obtained as long as the physical meaning of each parameter is accurately interpreted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The esterification of starches with octenyl succinic anhydride (OSA) under alkaline conditions is a modification process that takes a long time. Ultrasound-assisted esterification was investigated as an alternative for obtaining esterified starches with higher degree of substitution (DS) and reaction efficiency (RE), which could have more possibilities of application. Andean native potato starches were subjected to a conventional esterification process (OSA) and esterification with ultrasound-assisted treatment (US-OSA). The morphological and size distribution of granules, molecular features (infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction), thermal, and rheological characteristics were assessed. The DS and RE for US-OSA starches were higher than those for OSA ones. Modified starches showed some peeled granules with a few pores in their surfaces, and also, span values of US-OSA starches were lower than OSA ones. Molecular studies showed that both starches, OSA and US-OSA, did not exhibit notable differences. Enthalpy of gelatinization for US-OSA starches was lower than of OSA ones. Hence, the results suggest that the esterification process of starches can be facilitated with a green technology such as ultrasound-assisted treatment, which is fast-paced and does not change the esterified starch characteristics. The reflection and transmission problems of elastic waves, through a liquid-saturated poroelastic interlayer sandwiched between two elastic solid half-spaces, are investigated. The reflection and transmission coefficients are derived based on the Biot/squirt (BISQ) model, which incorporates both the Biot and squirt-flow mechanisms. Moreover, the viscoelasticity of the solid frame and the pore fluid are also considered. The fractional Zener model and the fractional dashpot model (Abel dashpot) are adopted for the solid frame and the pore fluid, respectively. The numerical results are provided and shown graphically. The dependences of the attenuation, the reflection and transmission coefficients upon the characteristic squirt flow length are numerically discussed. Comparing with that predicted by Biot theory without considering the squirt flow effects, it is observed that the reflection and transmission coefficients and the attenuation due to the sandwiched interlayer are affected noticeably by the effect of the squirt flow. We propose an approach for measuring seismic attenuation at ultrasonic frequencies on laboratory‐scale samples. We use a Gaussian filter to select a bandwidth of frequencies to identify the attenuation in a small window and, by moving the window across the frequency content of the data, we determine the frequency‐dependent attenuation function. We assess the validity of the method with three‐dimensional numerical simulations of seismic wave propagation across different sample geometries, using free surface boundary conditions. We perform the simulations using viscoelastic media under various seismic attenuation models. Our numerical results indicate that we can successfully recover the representative viscoelastic attenuation parameters of the media, regardless of the sample geometry, by processing the seismic signal recorded either within the volume or at the boundaries. Due to the equipartition phenomenon, the energy of S‐waves is consistently higher in seismic records than that of P‐waves. Therefore, we systematically recover the attenuating properties of S‐waves in the medium. We also conduct experiments of seismic wave propagation on samples of aluminum and Fontainebleau sandstone to validate our approach with real data. The quality factor of the S‐wave Qs$Q_s$ in the aluminum medium increases from 300 to 7000 between 60 kHz and 1.2 MHz. The Fontainebleau sandstone, which is more attenuating, exhibits a Qs$Q_s$ that increases from 200 at 60 kHz to 1000 at 1.2 MHz. With our approach, we are not only able to recover the attenuation property but also identify the frequency‐dependent attenuation model of the samples. The periodontal ligament plays a significant role in orthodontic and masticatory processes. To explicitly investigate the effects of dynamic force amplitude and frequency on the dynamic tensile properties of the periodontal ligament, in vitro tensile experiments were conducted using a dynamic mechanical analysis at various dynamic force amplitudes across a wide frequency range. Storage modulus, loss modulus, and loss factor values were measured. A Maxwell constitutive model based on modulus was established to describe the dynamic mechanical properties of the periodontal ligament. The results showed that the storage modulus ranged from 29.53 MPa to 158.24 MPa, the loss modulus ranged from 3.26 MPa to 76.16 MPa, and the loss factor values all increased with higher frequencies and higher dynamic force amplitudes. Based on the parameters obtained from the fitting results, it is evident that the short‐term response has a more pronounced impact on the elastic response of the periodontal ligament than the long‐term response. Increasing the dynamic force amplitude and its frequency amplified the viscous effects of the periodontal ligament and enhanced energy dissipation. The proposed constitutive model further demonstrated that the periodontal ligament acts as a viscoelastic biomaterial. Dual networks formed by entangled polymer chains and wormlike surfactant micelles have attracted increasing interest in their application as thickeners in various fields since they combine the advantages of both polymer- and surfactant-based fluids. In particular, such polymer-surfactant mixtures are of great interest as novel hydraulic fracturing fluids with enhanced properties. In this study, we demonstrated the effect of the chemical composition of an uncharged polymer poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and pH on the rheological properties and structure of its mixtures with a cationic surfactant erucyl bis(hydroxyethyl)methylammonium chloride already exploited in fracturing operations. Using a combination of several complementary techniques (rheometry, cryo-transmission electron microscopy, small-angle neutron scattering, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy), we showed that a small number of residual acetate groups (2–12.7 mol%) in PVA could significantly reduce the viscosity of the mixed system. This result was attributed to the incorporation of acetate groups in the corona of the micellar aggregates, decreasing the molecular packing parameter and thereby inducing the shortening of worm-like micelles. When these groups are removed by hydrolysis at a pH higher than 7, viscosity increases by five orders of magnitude due to the growth of worm-like micelles in length. This paper analyzes the effect of crosslinking reactions on a thermoset polymer's viscoelastic properties. In particular, a numerical model to predict the evolution of epoxy's mechanical properties during the curing process is proposed and implemented in an Ansys APDL environment. A linear viscoelastic behavior is assumed, and the scaling of viscoelastic properties in terms of the temperature and degree of conversion is modeled using a modified version of the TNM (Tool–Narayanaswamy–Mohynian) model. The effects of the degree of conversion and structural relaxation on epoxy's relaxation times are simultaneously examined for the first time. This formulation is based on the thermo-rheological and chemo-rheological simplicities hypothesis and can predict the evolution of epoxy's relaxation phenomena. The thermal–kinetic reactions of curing are implemented in a homemade routine written in APDL language, and the structural module of Ansys is used to predict the polymer's creep and stress relaxation curves at different temperatures and degrees of conversion. In the finite element analysis of asphalt concrete (AC), it is nowadays common to incorporate the information from the underlying scales to study the overall response of this material. Heterogeneity observed at the asphalt mixture scale is analyzed in this paper. Reliable finite element analysis (FEA) of asphalt concrete comprises a set of complex issues. The two main aspects of the asphalt concrete FEA discussed in this study are: (1) digital reconstruction of the asphalt pavement microstructure using processing of the high-quality images; and (2) FEA of the asphalt concrete idealized samples accounting for the viscoelastic material model. Reconstruction of the asphalt concrete microstructure is performed using a sequence of image processing operations (binarization, removing holes, filtering, segmentation and boundaries detection). Geometry of the inclusions (aggregate) are additionally simplified in a controlled mode to reduce the numerical cost of the analysis. As is demonstrated in the study, the introduced geometry simplifications are justified. Computational cost reduction exceeds of several orders of magnitude additional modeling error occurring due to the applied simplification technique. Viscoelastic finite element analysis of the AC identified microstructure is performed using the Burgers material model. The analysis algorithm is briefly described with a particular focus on the computational efficiency aspects. In order to illustrate the proposed approach, a set of 2D problems is solved. Numerical results confirm both the effectiveness of the self-developed code and the applicability of the Burgers model to the analyzed class of AC analysis problems. The viscoelasticity of mechanically sensitive tissues such as periodontal ligaments (PDLs) is key in maintaining mechanical homeostasis. Unfortunately, PDLs easily lose viscoelasticity (e.g., stress relaxation) during periodontitis or dental trauma, which disrupt cell–extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions and accelerates tissue damage. Here, Pluronic F127 diacrylate (F127DA) hydrogels with PDL‐matched stress relaxation rates and high elastic moduli are developed. The hydrogel viscoelasticity is modulated without chemical cross‐linking by controlling precursor concentrations. Under cytomechanical loading, F127DA hydrogels with fast relaxation rates significantly improved the fibrogenic differentiation potential of PDL stem cells (PDLSCs), while cells cultured on F127DA hydrogels with various stress relaxation rates exhibited similar fibrogenic differentiation potentials with limited cell spreading and traction forces under static conditions. Mechanically, faster‐relaxing F127DA hydrogels leveraged cytomechanical loading to activate PDLSC mechanotransduction by upregulating integrin–focal adhesion kinase pathway and thus cytoskeletal rearrangement, reinforcing cell–ECM interactions. In vivo experiments confirm that faster‐relaxing F127DA hydrogels significantly promoted PDL repair and reduced abnormal healing (e.g., root resorption and ankyloses) in delayed replantation of avulsed teeth. This study firstly investigated how matrix nonlinear viscoelasticity influences the fibrogenesis of PDLSCs under mechanical stimuli, and it reveals the underlying mechanobiology, which suggests novel strategies for PDL regeneration. Due to the widespread use of carbon nanotube (CNT)‐reinforced polymers in various industries, investigating the dynamic mechanical response of these materials under impact loading is of significant importance. A three‐dimensional viscoelastic (VE)–viscoplastic (VP) constitutive model for CNT/epoxy nanocomposites is developed. A proper rheological model is established using the generalized Maxwell model to represent the VE behavior and propose an exponential function to express the elasto‐VP response. Employing an empirical logarithmic relationship to estimate material properties at different strain rates, the VP behavior is modeled based on the overstress concept. The 3D numerical discretization of the proposed rate‐dependent material model is also carried out to develop a user‐defined material model (UMAT) for the commercial finite element (FE) software of Abaqus. The performed FE simulations based on the proposed rate‐dependent constitutive material can properly capture stress relaxation and hysteresis behaviors of the nanocomposites. Comparing the estimated tensile and shear stress–strain curves through developed material models with experimental measurements, an excellent agreement is observed. Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) with photo‐responsive properties, typically driven by either photochemical or photothermal mechanisms, have found extensive applications as, for example, actuators in soft robots. However, intricate temperature‐dependent viscoelasticity of LCEs poses a challenge, leading to a notable gap in the domain of dynamic models for photothermal‐responsive LCE (PTR‐LCE) fibers. Here, a fundamental framework is proposed for accurate modeling and real‐time simulations of PTR‐LCE fiber dynamics. The PTR‐LCE fiber is described as a one‐dimensional (1D) string model that decomposes the fiber deformation into active and passive parts, which are characterized by an order parameter and a temperature‐dependent linear viscoelasticity model, respectively. Then, independent experimental measurements of model parameters are conducted, and a numerical algorithm is developed to solve the model, which is validated for convergence, time efficiency, and accuracy. Finally, the model is employed to simulate both open‐loop and Proportional‐Integral‐Derivative (PID) control of actuators made of PTR‐LCE fibers. The results confirm the advantages of this model over previous models. This work not only reveals the physical mechanisms underlying the PTR‐LCE fiber dynamic behaviors but also provides inspirations for more efficient and precise soft robotic applications. Recently, our direct numerical simulations [Duan et al., Phys. Fluids 36, 033112 (2024)] showed that fluid elasticity affects the extension length and pinch-off time of the droplet formation process, thus changing the flow pattern. However, the effect of fluid elasticity on the morphology and properties of polymeric droplets is not yet fully understood. In this work, by analyzing the stretched state of the polymer macromolecule and the velocity distribution of the flow process, we find that the increase in fluid elasticity (characterized by the relaxation time) inhibits the contraction of the dispersed phase during droplet pinching and resists the effect of surface tension after droplet generation, which significantly affects the droplet geometry, volume, and generation frequency. The results demonstrate that the length and volume of polymeric droplets increase with the relaxation time of the polymer fluid, while the generation frequency decreases. Meanwhile, the effects of polymer viscosity and the superficial velocity ratio of the continuous to the dispersed phase on the droplets' morphology are investigated. The semi-empirical models for the length, volume, and generation frequency of polymeric droplets are developed for the first time by considering the elastic interaction. The purpose of our work is to provide a better understanding and experimental guidance for controlling the parameters of polymeric droplets with viscoelasticity of different shapes and sizes. This study addresses how to build a viscoelastic model for the two-adhesive single lap joint (SLJ). The two-adhesive bondline contains stiff and flexible adhesives in the overlap with three discrete regions. Stiff adhesive is located in the middle and flexible adhesive is symmetrically at the ends of the overlap. Although the elastic behavior of the two-adhesive SLJs is investigated in the literature, there is no study in the open literature investigating the viscoelastic evaluation of the two-adhesive SLJs when the bending effect is considered. Adhesives are viscoelastic materials, and it is necessary to know the time-dependent behavior of stresses and strains. Here, a term referred to as the hybrid ratio was developed to define the length ratio of the stiff and flexible adhesives used in the overlap, and four different hybrid ratios were identified. Time-dependent shear and peel stress/strain expressions were derived semi-analytically. Adhesive viscoelastic behavior was represented by the three-parameter standard-linear-solid (SLS) material model. The results of the semi-analytical model were compared with those of the finite element (FE) performed by ABAQUS. It was concluded that the shear stresses are considerably affected by the viscoelastic behaviors of the adhesives, and the two-adhesive order is an attractive model causing the reduction in the stresses at the overlap ends. Despite the semi-analytical results showing the time-dependent behavior of peel stresses in a limited range, the FE results precisely estimate the peel stress relaxation at the overlap ends. BACKGROUND: Foamulsions have become increasingly popular in the food industry due to their ability to enhance the textural, sensory and health‐promoting properties of food products. This study was therefore aimed to design and prepare a novel gelled structure, foamulsion gel containing 0–600 g L−1 oil, with gellan gum (GG; 7, 10 and 13 g L−1) and saponin‐rich antioxidant Acanthophyllum glandulosum extract (AGE; 2, 6 and 10 g L−1). RESULTS: The interaction between components was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy. The overrun and porosity of the foamulsion gels increased with antioxidant AGE (1.30 times) and reduced with oil (up to ca 70% and 30%, respectively) and GG levels. The systems were highly stable, and no water or oil was released during the physical stability experiments. Microscopic images showed that the size of air cells was significantly larger than that of oil droplets. The foamulsion gels based on 13 g L−1 GG and 10 g L−1 AGE had markedly higher elastic (G′) and viscous (G′′) moduli than other samples, and exhibited an elastic and solid‐like behavior (G′ > G′′). The highest gel firmness was found in oil‐free sample, and the presence of oil resulted in a lower firmness induced by the larger size and lubrication effect of oil droplets. CONCLUSION: As a result, the interactions between AGE, GG and oil could lead to the creation of new aerated structures known as bioactive foamulsion gels. In the manufacturing of optical products, precise adjustments are made to maintain the optical axis alignment of optical components, which are then securely positioned using adhesives. To achieve positional accuracy at the micron level, it is essential to comprehend the deformation of the adhesive joint over time during processing. This study focuses on investigating the displacement of optical components resulting from the deformation of a cationic photopolymerized epoxy adhesive, which cures under ultraviolet (UV) radiation. First, the conversion of the adhesive was formulated based on a curing reaction model. This conversion can be divided into three stages: the initial reaction during UV irradiation, the subsequent dark reaction, and the reaction induced by heating. Moreover, formulations were developed to describe changes in curing shrinkage, thermal expansion, and viscoelasticity in relation to the conversion. These equations, governing the adhesive properties, were then used to perform finite element method (FEM) simulations to analyze the position of the optical component. Experimental tests on adhesively bonded components were conducted under conditions identical to those employed in the simulation. Throughout the curing process of the adhesive, the optical component was continuously imaged using a coherence-scanning interferometer, enabling the quantification of its displacement from the acquired images. The results of the FEM simulation and experimental analysis exhibited a consistent trend, indicating the effectiveness of the modeling and simulation methods employed in this study. The majority of the displacement of the optical component occurred over several hours during the dark reaction stage, rather than during UV irradiation. Notably, the movement of the optical component was not limited solely to the thickness direction of the adhesive layer because of curing shrinkage but also extends to the in-plane direction because of the non-uniform distribution of the UV irradiation intensity. Bacteria exhibit swimming behavior through the rotation of helical flagellar filaments, a common mode of propulsion for artificial micro-swimmers as well. However, most studies have focused on helical filaments with a uniform radius, leaving limited research on filaments with nonuniform radii. This paper presents a simulation of the hydrodynamics of a rotating helical filament with a nonuniform radius. The degree of nonuniformity is characterized by a radius ratio, β. Using the OpenFOAM platform, a simulation module for non-Newtonian Stokes flow was developed and integrated. The kinematics of the filament were predefined by fixing either the pitch or the helical angle, in addition to the helical radius. Thrust acting on the filament were analyzed with regards to the helical radius ratio, rotation speed, and fluid viscoelasticity. Certain modifications were made to apply the resistive force theory (RFT) to filaments with nonuniform helical radii. Results revealed that when the pitch was fixed, the thrust of the helix varied non-monotonically with the radius ratio, with excessive ratios leading to increased resistance. In contrast, helices with fixed helical angles exhibited an increasing thrust with a higher radius ratio. The thrust was greater in Newtonian fluids compared to non-Newtonian fluids, and the propulsion of the helix was influenced by the Deborah number. As the Deborah number approached zero, the thrust of viscoelastic swimming speed approached that of viscous swimming speed. For small, β (, β =1 and 4), the ratio of the thrust in viscoelastic fluid to the thrust in viscous fluid was always less than unity. At, β = 9, elasticity hindered propulsion at low De (De<1.5), while the opposite was observed at high De (De>1.5). A new approach was proposed to evaluate the impact of viscoelasticity on the helix, it was expected that the new calculation method can reduce the computational effort effectively. Knowledge of the evolution in the mechanical properties of a curing polymer matrix is of great importance in composite parts or structure fabrication. Conventional rheometry, based on small amplitude oscillatory shear, is limited by long interrogation times. In rapidly evolving materials, time sweeps can provide a meaningful measurement albeit at a single frequency. To overcome this constraint, we utilize a combined frequency- and amplitude-modulated chirped strain waveform in conjunction with a homemade sliding plate piezo-operated rheometer (PZR) and a dual-head commercial rotational rheometer (Anton Paar MCR 702) to probe the linear viscoelasticity of these time-evolving materials. The direct controllability of the PZR, resulting from the absence of any kind of firmware and the microsecond actuator-sensor response renders this device ideal for exploring the advantages of this technique. The high frequency capability allows us to extend the upper limits of the accessible linear viscoelastic spectrum and, most importantly, to shorten the length of the interrogating strain signal (OWCh-PZR) to subsecond scales, while retaining a high time-bandwidth product. This short duration ensures that the mutation number (NMu) is kept sufficiently low, even in fast-curing resins. The method is validated via calibration tests in both instruments, and the corresponding limitations are discussed. As a proof of concept, the technique is applied to a curing vinylester resin. The linear viscoelastic (LVE) spectrum is assessed every 20 s to monitor the rapid evolution in the time and frequency dependence of the complex modulus. Comparison of the chirp implementation, based on parameters such as duration of the experiment, sampling frequency, and frequency range, in a commercial rotational rheometer with the PZR provides further information on the applicability of this technique and its limitations. Finally, FTIR spectroscopy is utilized to gain insights into the evolution of the chemical network, and the gap dependence of the evolving material properties in these heterogeneous systems is also investigated. Nonlinear rheology of Pickering emulsions is used to further investigate the nonlinear and unrecoverable transformation of inner structures, which is beyond the linear viscoelastic regime of tiny structural disturbances. Exploring various rheological methods plays a vital role in emulsion applications, such as simulating the macroscopic structural transformation between static and liquidlike flow states, strain overshoot, and regeneration for broken structures. According to our previous studies, cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) Pickering emulsions are a typical system for investigating polymer-based emulsions with the auxiliary surfactant [didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB)] for enhancing CNF absorption. To further study different rheological properties by varying CNF or DDAB contents, multiple interval thixotropic test, large amplitude oscillatory shear, and concentration-time-dependent superposition are employed to study the linear viscoelasticity and structural transformation of nonlinear range. We study theoretically the steady viscoelastic flow in confined and symmetric hyperbolic channels considering slip along the walls. Under the lubrication approximation and a variety of constitutive models, a high-order perturbation solution with respect to the Deborah number is calculated. The solution for all the field variables (velocity, pressure, and extra-stress) is found analytically up to eighth order and is used along with proper acceleration techniques to achieve convergence up to order one Deborah number. We reveal that even in the presence of slip, the pressure drop decreases monotonically with increasing the fluid elasticity. We evaluate the influence of slip in terms arising from two different decompositions of the pressure drop obtained with the aid of the total force balance and the mechanical energy balance of the flow system. In contrast to the nonslip Newtonian flow, our analysis also showed that the fluid slip along the walls introduces variations in the strain rate at the midplane with the distance from the inlet. However, these are small, and an effective strain rate can be well-represented using a previously developed formula [Housiadas, K. D., and A. N. Beris, Phys. Fluids 36(2), 021702 (2024)]. We also show that when the solution for the midplane velocity is used in the general formula for the Trouton ratio, instead of the Newtonian lubrication solution, there are no appreciable changes, thus confirming the validity and accuracy of our previously reported results [Housiadas, K. We study theoretically the elongational viscosity (or Trouton ratio, in dimensionless form) for steady viscoelastic flows in confined and symmetric hyperbolic tubes considering Navier-type slip along the wall(s). Both the planar and the cylindrical axisymmetric geometrical configurations are addressed. Under the classic lubrication approximation, and for a variety of constitutive models such as Phan-Thien and Tanner, Giesekus, and Finite Extensibility Nonlinear Elastic with the Peterlin approximation models, the same general analytical formula for the Trouton ratio is derived as for the Oldroyd-B model, in terms of the velocity at the midplane/axis of symmetry and the Deborah number only. Assuming that the velocity field is approximated by the Newtonian lubrication profile, based on our previous study in the absence of slip, we show that a constant extensional strain rate can be achieved in the limits of zero or infinite slip. For finite slip, a slight modification of the geometry is required to achieve a constant strain rate. In these cases, the formula for the steady state Trouton ratio reduces to that for transient homogeneous elongation. We also provide analytical formulae for the modification (decrease) for both the extensional strain rate and the Hencky strain achieved in the confined geometries because of introducing wall slip. We use nonequilibrium atomistic molecular dynamics simulations of unentangled melts of linear and star oligomer chains ( C 25 H 52 ) to study the steady-state viscoelastic response under confinement within nanoscale hematite (α − F e 2 O 3) channels. We report (i) the negative (positive) first (second) normal stress difference and (ii) the presence of viscoelastic tension at low W i. With the aim of uncovering the molecular mechanism of viscoelasticity, we link these effects to bond alignment such that absorbed chains near the surface can carry the elastic force exerted on the walls, which decays as the chains become more aligned in the flow direction. The Rivlin-Thomas classical energy balance model for tearing tests suggests that the fracture energy G is proportional to the work of the external load in the legs (potential energy), for not too large stretches in the legs, so the increase of G with loading rate is observed or measured, but not really explained by the model. Shrimali and Lopez-Pamies (SLP) have recently built a theory on viscoelastic fracture from recent experimental evidence of a critical (stretch rate-independent) stretch on nucleation of cracks in the pure shear tests. The theory in other words incorporates this evidence in an otherwise energy-based criterion. In the paper "The trousers fracture test for viscoelastic elastomers" (ASME J. Appl. Mech., 2023, 90(7), p. 071010), they seem to obtain the critical (stretch rate-independent) stretch condition for the case of trouser tests (applying their theory from a long enough crack) both in nucleation and steady-state propagation. This outcome seems reasonable since for a linear material, looking at the elastic limit cases of very slow and very fast rates, it would produce an increase of the load, and hence of the fracture energy, proportional to the increase of the modulus, which is in line with what has been found experimentally, although possibly in contrast with classical rate-independent cohesive models, at least for crack nucleation. Symplectic numerical schemes for reversible dynamical systems predict the solution reliably over large times as well, and are a good starting point for extension to schemes for simulating irreversible situations like viscoelastic wave propagation and heat conduction coupled via thermal expansion occuring in rocks, plastics, biological samples etc. Dissipation error (artificial nonpreservation of energies and amplitudes) of the numerical solution should be as small as possible since it should not be confused with the real dissipation occurring in the irreversible system. In addition, the other well-known numerical artefact, dispersion error (artificial oscillations emerging at sharp changes), should also be minimal to avoid confusion with the true wavy behavior. The continuum thermodynamical aspects (respect for balances with fluxes, systematic constitutive relationships between intensive quantities and fluxes, the second law of thermodynamics with positive definite entropy production, and the spacetime-based kinematic viewpoint) prove valuable for obtaining such extended schemes and for monitoring the solutions. Generalizing earlier works in this direction, here, we establish and investigate such a numerical scheme for one-dimensional viscoelastic wave propagation in the presence of heat conduction coupled via thermal expansion, demonstrating long-term reliability and the applicability of thermodynamics-based quantities in supervising the quality of the solution. Numerical simulation of the glass molding process and analysis of material viscoelasticity are growing increasingly significant as the research on optical‐device glass molding intensifies. An accurate and efficient analytical algorithm for the shear relaxation modulus in the viscoelasticity characterization of glass was developed in this study. We measured the high‐temperature creep curve, friction coefficient, and elastic modulus of glass (D‐LaF50) according to the requirements for viscoelasticity characterization. The viscoelastic behavior of glass was characterized based on the analytical algorithm and test results. A finite element analysis model was developed to verify the accuracy of the analytical algorithm. A systematic analytical study of the mathematical properties of the previously constructed nonlinear model for shear flow of thixotropic viscoelastic-plastic media is continued. For arbitrary six material parameters and an (increasing) material function that control the model, the basic properties of the families of stress-strain curves at constant strain rates and relaxation curves generated by the model, and the features of the evolution of the structuredness under these types of loading are analytically studied. The dependences of these curves on time, shear rate, initial strain and initial structuredness of the material, as well as on the material parameters and function of the model, are studied. Several indicators of the applicability of the model are found which are convenient to check with experimental data. It was examined what effects typical for viscoelastic-plastic media can be described by the model and what unusual effects (unusual properties) are generated by a change in structuredness in comparison with typical stress-strain curves and relaxation curves of structurally stable materials. In particular, it has been proved that stress-strain curves can be both increasing functions and can have decreasing sections resembling a "yield tooth" or damped oscillations, that all stress-strain curves (SSCs) possess horizontal asymptotes (steady flow stress), monotonically dependent on shear rate, and flow stress increases with shear rate growth, that the instantaneous shear modulus, on the contrary, depends on the initial structuredness, but does not depend on shear rate. Under certain restrictions on the material parameters, the model is also capable of providing a bilinear form of stress-strain curves, which is typical for an ideal elastoplastic model, but with strain rate sensitivity. It has been established that the family of stress-strain curves does not have to be increasing either in initial structuredness or in shear rate: in a certain range of shear rates, in which the equilibrium position is a "mature" focus and pronounced oscillations of stress-strain curves are observed, it is possible to intertwine stress-strain curves with different shear rates. It is proved that for any material parameters and functions, all stress relaxation curves decrease and have a common zero asymptote as time tends to infinity. The analysis proved the ability of the model to describe behavior of not only liquid-like viscoelastoplastic media, but also solid-like (thickening, hardening, hardened) media: creep, relaxation, recovery, a number of typical properties of experimental relaxation curves, creep and stress-strain curves, strain rate and strain hardening, flow under constant stress and so on. In this study, a novel, high content technique using a cylindrical acoustic transducer, stroboscopic fast imaging, and homodyne detection to recover the mechanical properties (dynamic shear modulus) of living adherent cells at low ultrasonic frequencies is presented. By analyzing the micro‐oscillations of cells, whole populations are simultaneously mechanotyped with sub‐cellular resolution. The technique can be combined with standard fluorescence imaging allowing to further cross‐correlate biological and mechanical information. Binder plays an important role in maintaining the integrity of sulfur electrode in lithium‐sulfur (Li‐S) battery. However, cracks are easily generated inside the electrode and compromise its performance due to the volume change of sulfur during redox reaction and continuous vibration originated from the external environments. It is a challenge yet crucial to develop tough binders with crack‐insensitivity and damping performance. Herein, a polymeric binder is designed with special viscoelastic behavior by tailoring its electrolyte‐philic and electrolyte‐phobic domains. The loss modulus of the binder is regulated to be highly close to its storage modulus within a wide range of frequency, generating an ultra‐high loss factor and equilibrium of viscosity‐elasticity. Based on such rheological behavior, the binder holds 1) high damping ability across a wide frequency to suppress crack generation, 2) high toughness with crack blunting behavior to resist crack propagation, 3) efficient healing capability to repair the cracks. Besides, the pendant zwitterionic groups can immobilize the lithium polysulfides and promote ion transfer. Benefiting from these advantages, the obtained Li‐S battery delivers high specific capacity with considerable capacity retention after long‐term cycling. Inertial effects caused by perturbations of dynamical equilibrium during the flow of soft matter constitute a hallmark of turbulence. Such perturbations are attributable to an imbalance between energy storage and energy dissipation. During the flow of Newtonian fluids, kinetic energy can be both stored and dissipated, while the flow of viscoelastic soft matter systems, such as polymer fluids, induces the accumulation of both kinetic and elastic energies. The accumulation of elastic energy causes local stiffening of stretched polymer chains, which can destabilise the flow. Migrating multicellular systems are hugely complex and are capable of self-regulating their viscoelasticity and mechanical stress generation, as well as controlling their energy storage and energy dissipation. Since the flow perturbation of viscoelastic systems is caused by the inhomogeneous accumulation of elastic energy, rather than of kinetic energy, turbulence can occur at low Reynolds numbers. This theoretical review is focused on clarifying the role of viscoelasticity in the appearance of low-Reynolds turbulence. Three types of system are considered and compared: (1) high-Reynolds turbulent flow of Newtonian fluids, (2) low and moderate-Reynolds flow of polymer solutions, and (3) migration of epithelial collectives, discussed in terms of two model systems. Defatted chickpea flour (DCF), which is a by-product of chickpea oil extraction industry, is rich in nutrients that are beneficial to human health. In this study, the effects of temperature and DCF variation on the rheological properties, water holding capacity, freeze-thaw stability and microstructure of DCF heat induced gels were investigated. The results showed that the viscoelasticity, frequency dependence, and resistance strength of heat induced gels increased significantly with the increase of temperature and DCF variation. The degree of denaturation and water retention of heat induced gels increased significantly with increased variables within the temperature and variation windows of 75°C to 95°C and 13% to 21%. The CLSM results revealed that variations of both temperature and DCF variation could cause the proteins in the heat induced gels to aggregate gradually and to form protein aggregations. When temperature or variation exceeded certain value (85°C or 17%), the protein aggregations broke up and the protein clusters became smaller and more homogeneous. Therefore, the heat induced gels presented better water holding capacity, viscoelasticity, structural stability and gel property at a temperature of 95°C or a DCF variation of 21% within the present experimental range. Developing a viscoelastic model for the cyclic thermomechanical loading of thermosetting polymers is the main goal of this study. The model includes memory for residual thermal stresses and can consider stress accumulation across many loading cycles. By considering stress accumulation, we can improve predictions and understand how thermosetting polymers' stress–strain state changes under cyclic thermomechanical loading. This approach was validated through experimental verification to ensure its applicability in practical engineering scenarios. The experiment showed that the thermosetting polymer can accumulate stress during cycles of heating and mechanical loading during use. The results of the modeling and experiment are compared. The results have led to corrections in the way this model is applied to thermosetting polymers like the epoxy resin in this study. Viscoelastic materials (VEMs) have gained increasing popularity for their ability to dampen vibrations in various structural applications in recent years. The mechanical characteristics of VEMs can be effectively described using constitutive models featuring both integer and fractional derivatives. This study examines the mechanical behavior of VEMs using fractional Zener models with four, five, and six parameters, as well as the generalized Maxwell model with 16 parameters, which relies on integer derivatives. To accomplish this, the study formulates an optimization problem with the aim of minimizing an error function defined by the quadratic relative distance between theoretical model responses and experimental data. Solving the optimization problem involves the use of a hybrid optimization technique, which combines genetic algorithms and non-linear programming. After obtaining optimal designs for each viscoelastic model, qualitative assessments demonstrate that all analytical models provide satisfactory fits to the experimental data. Subsequently, a statistical analysis employing Akaike's Information Criterion is conducted to identify the models that best describe the mechanical behavior of the analyzed VEMs. In this quantitative evaluation encompassing all viscoelastic models, it is noted that the generalized Maxwell model with 16 terms produces a lower relative error and statistically outperforms the fractional Zener models only in a global analysis. However, in a temperature-by-temperature analysis, the GMM16 proves to be inferior to all fractional models. Linear viscoelasticity is very important for chain-molecular fluids. The generalised Maxwell constitutive equation is classical in which the linear viscoelastic fluids consist of a series of spring and dashpot. It is significant to identify the generalised Maxwell fluid of linear viscoelasticity for n-hexadecane liquids through non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations of small-strain amplitude oscillatory shear flows. For describing a characteristic of material viscoelasticity, the predicted relaxation modulus curves at different temperatures exhibit three regions: transition, rubbery, and flow. Objectives: To provide a comprehensive summary of the different modalities available to measure soft tissue fibrosis after radiotherapy in head and neck cancer patients. Data Sources: PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Sciences. Review Methods: A search was conducted using a list of medical subject headings and terms related to head and neck oncology, radiation fibrosis, and quantitative measurements, including bioimpedance, MRI, and ultrasound. Original research related to quantitative measurement of neck fibrosis post‐radiotherapy was included without time constraints, while reviews, case reports, non‐English texts, and inaccessible studies were excluded. Discrepancies during the review were resolved by discussing with the senior author until consensus was reached. Results: A total of 284 articles were identified and underwent title and abstract screening. Seventeen articles had met our criteria for full‐text review based on relevance, of which nine had met our inclusion criteria. Young's modulus (YM) and viscoelasticity measures have demonstrated efficacy in quantifying neck fibrosis, with fibrotic tissues displaying significantly higher YM values and altered viscoelastic properties such as increased stiffness rate‐sensitivity and prolonged stress‐relaxation post‐radiation. Intravoxel incoherent motion offers detailed insights into tissue changes by assessing the diffusion of water molecules and blood perfusion, thereby differentiating fibrosed from healthy tissues. Shear wave elastography has proven to be an effective technique for quantifying radiation‐induced fibrosis in the head and neck region by measuring shear wave velocity. Conclusion: There are various modalities to measure radiation‐induced fibrosis, each with its unique strengths and limitations. Considerable development has been observed in the area of applying fractional-order rheological models to describe the viscoelastic properties of miscellaneous materials in the last few decades together with the increasingly stronger adoption of fractional calculus. The fractional Maxwell model is the best-known non-integer-order rheological model. A weighted least-square approximation problem of the relaxation modulus by the fractional Maxwell model is considered when only the time measurements of the relaxation modulus corrupted by additive noises are accessible for identification. This study was dedicated to the determination of the model, optimal in the sense of the integral square weighted model quality index, which does not depend on the particular sampling points applied in the stress relaxation experiment. It is proved that even when the real description of the material relaxation modulus is entirely unknown, the optimal fractional Maxwell model parameters can be recovered from the relaxation modulus measurements recorded for sampling time points selected randomly according to respective randomization. The identified model is a strongly consistent estimate of the desired optimal model. The exponential convergence rate is demonstrated both by the stochastic convergence analysis and by the numerical studies. A simple scheme for the optimal model identification is given. Numerical studies are presented for the materials described by the short relaxation times of the unimodal Gauss-like relaxation spectrum and the long relaxation times of the Baumgaertel, Schausberger and Winter spectrum. These studies have shown that the appropriate randomization introduced in the selection of sampling points guarantees that the sequence of the optimal fractional Maxwell model parameters asymptotically converge to parameters independent of these sampling points. We present a numerical analysis of the rheology of a suspension of red blood cells (RBCs) for different volume fractions in a wall-bounded, effectively inertialess, small amplitude oscillatory shear (SAOS) flow for a wide range of applied frequencies. The RBCs are modeled as biconcave capsules, whose membrane is an isotropic and hyperelastic material following the Skalak constitutive law. The frequency-dependent viscoelasticity in the bulk suspension is quantified by the complex viscosity, defined by the amplitude of the particle shear stress and the phase difference between the stress and shear. SAOS flow basically impedes the deformation of individual RBCs as well as the magnitude of fluid-membrane interactions, resulting in a lower specific viscosity and first and second normal stress differences than in steady shear flow. Although it is known that the RBC deformation alone is sufficient to give rise to shear-thinning, our results show that the complex viscosity weakly depends on the frequency-modulated deformations or orientations of individual RBCs but rather depends on combinations of the frequency-dependent amplitude and phase difference. Summary: Telescopic truck crane is an under‐actuated mechanical system with three actuators controlling five outputs. Its complex structure, shape variation, uncertain parameters, elastic cables, and viscoelastic cylinders are great challenges in control design. This article proposes two adaptive robust controllers for such cranes. A control core assures robustness based on back‐stepping and Lyapunov stability. The adaptation is achieved by employing model‐reference adaptive and self‐tuning control approaches. Thus, the benefits of these adaptive techniques are introduced into the control systems. The application to a practical crane shows the effectiveness of the proposed controllers. The crane has robustness and adaptation despite the elasticity and friction of the load‐carrying cable, the viscoelasticity of the cylinders, the variation of crane parameters, and the presence of winds. The accelerated testing methodology (ATM) developed by the authors is the methodology for predicting statistically long-term life of CFRP structures based on the viscoelasticity including the time-temperature superposition principle for matrix resin. The formulae of ATM are expressed as the product of static strength at room temperature, its dispersion, and the viscoelastic parameter of matrix resin that changes with time and temperature history. This methodology ATM was applied to the prediction of long-term creep failure life for unidirectional CFRP with heat-resistant epoxy resin as matrix under heat degradation in this study. Resin impregnated CFRP strands with heat-resistant epoxy resin were molded using a filament winding system as virgin specimens of unidirectional CFRP. Then, heat-degraded specimens were prepared by exposing the virgin specimens under acceleration conditions determined based on the time-temperature superposition principle for chemical deterioration assuming the condition of practical temperature 110°C and period 10 years. Second, the creep strengths of virgin and heat-degraded CFRP strands were statistically predicted based on ATM and the effect of heat degradation on the long-term life of CFRP strands was evaluated. As results, it was cleared that when the creep strength of CFRP strands undergoes thermal aging at the practical condition, in addition to the strength decrease to time due to the viscoelasticity of the resin, a comparable decrease in static strength and increase in this scatter occur. Multi-layered viscoelastic laminated nanocomposites have been widely used as a kind of representative active/passive vibration isolator and high-efficient damper in the practical applications of nanoengineering, due to their high energy dissipation, wide damping band and lower cost, and such composite structures often serve in a non-isothermal environment. In this work, an analytical study is conducted to investigate the size-dependent generalized thermoviscoelastic responses of multi-layered viscoelastic laminated nanocomposites. Governing equations of each homogeneous viscoelastic layer, accounting for imperfect interfacial conditions, are formulated in the context of the size-dependent generalized thermo-viscoelasticity model. Solutions accounting for non-idealized interfacial and proper boundary conditions are first presented to characterize the thermomechanical coupling of multi-layered viscoelastic laminated nanocomposites. Transient results of temperature, displacement and stresses in time domain can be achieved via Laplace inversion. Then the transient solutions obtained are applied to a one-dimensional bi-layered medium. It is found that properly selecting the nonlocal parameter and viscoelastic material constants ratios can maximally improve the heat isolation and avoid the larger harmful thermal stresses, especially at surface coating of the nanocomposites. The present investigation deals with the study of propagation of plane waves in a homogeneous, isotropic, nonlocal viscothermoelastic half space with temperature-dependent properties in the context of three-phase-lag (TPL) model. The Kelvin–Voigt model of linear viscoelasticity is employed to describe the viscoelastic nature of isotropic material. A set of coupled longitudinal waves and one independent transverse wave are found to travel with distinct speeds in the medium. Reflection coefficients and energy ratios of various reflected waves are presented when (1) a set of coupled longitudinal waves is made incident and (2) a transverse wave is made incident. The results for partition of the energy for various values of the angle of incidence are computed numerically and presented graphically for copper material. It has been verified that there is no dissipation of energy at the boundary surface during reflection. The effects of nonlocal parameter, viscosity and temperature dependent properties on reflection coefficients are depicted graphically. A comparison between the TPL model and GNIII model is also presented by different characteristics of wave propagation like phase velocity and reflection coefficients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
