Social and economic change in the built environment is increasingly driven by processes of datafication. These often find expression through smart phone apps and private platforms that seek to upset the status quo by mediating consumer and producer interactions, and by monetising the data these produce. This paper uses the practice-oriented concept of ‘disruptive data’ to draw attention away from specific technologies and towards the broader political economic logics that underlie them. In so doing, disruption is reframed as a capitalist strategy for creating and capitalising on uncertainty. The rapid change to Dublin’s taxi industry over the past decade illustrates these dynamics. By following how ride-hailing apps, most notably Hailo, were introduced into and effected the city, the importance of regulatory context but also wider flows of data and capital are stressed. Data disruptions occur not at the level of the app or platform, but at the economic relations in which they are embedded. By paying attention to the historical details of data disruption, the specificities of change processes are revealed without losing track of their broader economic function.

Over the last decade, shared mobility has more often become a part of urban development. Studies are increasingly pointing at mobility hubs as a vehicle to deliver shared mobility, often from a viewpoint within the mobility sector. However, shared mobility hubs have to a lesser extent been studied in relation to urban development. As far as the integration of shared mobility hubs within urban development is concerned, roles are unclear, uncertainty is high, and a scientific knowledge gap exists. Therefore, this study examines the integration of shared mobility hubs within urban developments, and assesses how developers can steer on this integration. Firstly, a review of previous studies is carried out on the concepts shared mobility, mobility hubs, and management of urban development projects. Secondly, three case studies are examined to empirically assess key stakeholders’ perspectives on working and steering on shared mobility hubs. It is found that the way developers can steer on mobility hubs, depends on the needs of the urban development organization and the needs of users, the purpose that the mobility hub should serve, and the eventual type of mobility hub that is steered upon. To illustrate the considerations affecting the way of steering, recommendations for practice are provided. Litteratur inom området lyfter människor med fysisk funktionsnedsättnings upplevda frustrationer som följd av denna problematiska bortprioritering, men att dessa beskrivningar är väldigt övergripande. Genom en kvalitativ intervjustudie med åtta respondenter har en ökad och mer djupgående förståelse för människor med fysisk funktionsnedsättnings subjektiva förstahandsupplevelser av att använda olika mobilitetstjänster kunnat skapats, vilket också är syftet med denna studie. Genom denna kunskap från insamlad empiri tillsammans med insikter från litteraturstudien har två designimplikationer identifierats och utforskats: Digital informationsdistribuering och Rättvisa premisser. Dessa designimplikationer är ämnade att användas vid både utveckling av nuvarande mobilitetstjänster med tillhörande digitala applikationer och vid framtidens visioner av att integrera flertalet mobilitetstjänster i en gemensam digital plattform, exempelvis MaaS. In this belief, however, minority groups such as people with physical disabilities have been less prioritized. The literature review highlights the perceived frustrations of people with physical disabilities due to this problematic deprioritization, but these descriptions are deficient. Through a qualitative interview study with eight respondents, an increased and more in-depth understanding of the subjective first-hand experiences of using mobility services by people with physical disabilities has been created, which is also the purpose of this study. From this knowledge from collected empirical data and insights from the literature study, two design implications have been identified and explored: Distribution of digital information and Fair premises. These design implications are intended to be used both in developing current mobility services with associated digital applications and in future visions of integrating the majority of mobility services in a common digital platform, for example, MaaS. The design implications thus become essential to consider in order to promote a more inclusive society where these types of mobility services and future concepts do not exclude anyone, both in terms of the actual use of the services and their development.

Digitally enabled neighbourhood telecommuting centres (NTCs) in residential areas may have the potential to reduce the environmental burdens of transport by shortening work trips and enabling modal shifts. This paper presents the results of a Living Lab where 67 participants were given access to an NTC. Through this Living Lab, this study identifies several conditions required for an NTC to substantially reduce commuting and overall have a positive impact on sustainable travel. The results indicate that while a small group of participants who lived very close to the NTC made significant lifestyle changes and adopted more sustainable travel practices, the overall changes in the sustainability aspects of travel for most participants were minimal. The majority of the participants merely exchanged a day spent working from home for a day at the NTC, as they were only allowed to be absent from the employer’s office one day per week. Further, some participants found it difficult to work remotely due to organisational roles and workplace norms. Another factor that limited the sustainability effect of the NTC was that most participants normally commuted by train, but in a few cases travelled to the NTC by car. With the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, most participants were required to work exclusively from home, which proved to have both positive and negative effects on the participants’ everyday lives and well-being. The participants reported a radical shift in attitudes towards remote working during this period, which they believed could lead to remote working becoming more common after the pandemic. In this case, NTCs could possibly play an important role in enabling this shift, by remedying some of the identified drawbacks of working from home. This could in turn enable a larger reduction in commuting. In areas where more people commute by car, sustainability effects would likely be greater.

Den här uppsatsen undersöker boendes mobilitetsmönster och uppfattningar i relation till hållbar mobilitet i Rosendal, Uppsala. Syftet med uppsatsen är att utreda i vilken grad de boende i Rosendal använder hållbara färdmedel i sin vardagliga mobilitet i relation till områdets fysiska, institutionella, sociala och kulturella förhållanden. För att genomföra undersökningen har både kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoder använts. Data har samlats in utifrån en enkät, varpå olika typer av statistiska analyser har uppförts. En intervjustudie har ytterligare henomförts för att samla in djupare information som leder till kompletterad förstålse i relation till de boendes mobilitetspraktiker. För att tolka resultatet har teoretiska utgångspunkter inom transportgeografin använts vilka är anpassade till det så kallade mobilities paradigmet. Paradigmet lyfter fram aspekter som främst är sammankopplade med den sociala och kulturella kontexten i relation till mobilitetspraktiker. Den här uppsatsen försöker belysa hur den fysiska och institutionella kontexten förknippas med den sociala och kulturella i frågan om hållbar mobilitet. Det hållbara mobilitetsbeteende är snarare ett resultat av den fysiska kontexten än de implmenterande mobilitetstänsterna. Uppsatsen lyfter fram att även den sociala och kulturella kontexten måste tas hänsyn till. Det anses att ett barn-, ålders- och genusperspektiv måste integreras i de relevanta policyerna på ett bättre sätt. Uppsatsen pekar även på att kommunikationen av de befintliga mobilitetstjänsterna till de boende även skulle kunna förbättras.
