The present article focuses both on the standardized medical management, on the dental management of patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, but also insists on the presentation of some historical aspects about the one who discovered and gave the name to the neurological disease: Alois Alzheimer. In dental practice, CAD-CAM digital technologies are used for zirconium dioxide processing. Thus, in recent years, zirconium oxide has determined an extraordinary development of digital CAD-CAM technologies, a fact that determined the presentation in this material of several extremely interesting aspects, regarding the technological process of designing and manufacturing structures made of this material. Women’s emancipation in both Europe and the USA really began in the second half of the 19th century. After the end of the First World War, women acquired, in addition to the legal right to vote, the right to practice professions that were once completely forbidden to them. Among these professions that have long been forbidden for women to practice, is the profession of dentist. But things really began to become clear in the process of women’s emancipation only in the years following the end of the Second World War (1939-1945). Background: In Romania, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) were first acknowledged in 1989. Getting older with HIV/AIDS is now possible due to antiretroviral treatment, but it can bring dental problems due to HIV itself or to the reluctance of dental professionals to treat dental problems. Our study aims to assess the attitudes, knowledge, and practices of Romanian dental professionals regarding aging PLWHA. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional observational survey based on a self-administered questionnaire was conducted for Romanian dental professionals from October 2022 to January 2023. Results: The responders' group profile was as follows: a mean age of 39.09 ± 0.36 years (limit: 19–75), a majority of 991 (90.01%) from urban dental offices, and 364 (33.06%) with more than twenty years' experience. A total of 517 (46.95%) responders had an unprofessional attitude and declared that, if possible, they would avoid taking part in performing dental treatments for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). There were 89 (8.08%) dental professionals that refused to work with PLWHA. Only 363 (32.97%) had worked with one previously. The dental professionals in rural areas refused PLWHA more frequently: 20% (N = 22) of rural dental professionals vs. 6.76% (N = 67) of urban dental professionals refused to work with PLWHA (OR = 0.30; 95% CI: 0.16-.56). The logistic regression applied for the 1101 responders revealed after stepwise selection that the most influential factor for their refusal to work with PLWHA in our study group was being previously exposed to HIV during dental practice (OR = 14.45; 95% CI: 8.55- 24.42; p = 0.000). Conclusions: Dental educators and health care planners should promote the knowledge of prophylaxis and positive attitudes towards the treatment of PLWHA. Successful resolution of these concerns is time consuming and expensive but necessary if dentists are to satisfy their professional obligations to HIV/AIDS patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

All-ceramic fixed prosthetic restorations present a special aesthetic; they perfectly reproduce the texture, translucency and natural shades of the teeth, being a first choice for restoring not only the front teeth, but also those in the lateral area. In this material, several aspects are presented, regarding the technology for the obtaining of fully physiognomic, all-ceramic single-tooth fixed prosthetic restorations, mainly insisting on the stages carried out in the dental laboratory, but without omitting the clinical stages as well. Knowing that the work of the dental technician involves maintaining a prolonged sitting position, most procedures for prosthetic or orthodontic devices require a long time to perform, but also a very high accuracy, this specialist is more susceptible to cardiovascular disease due to prolonged sedentary occupational behavior. This is why the purpose of this study is to identify the self-reported prevalence of potential for cardiovascular risk among students from dental technology program at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, in order to establish the need for intervention to increase resistance to these risk factors. Prosthetic rehabilitation of the maxillary front teeth is an extremely laborious problem for the dental team, consisting of the dentist and the dental technician. If for the physiognomic component the most recommended materials are the ceramic masses, for the resistance substrate there are several variants. Communication between the clinical department (dental office) and the technical department (dental laboratory) is one of the topics that often comes to the mind of every dental technician or dentist. This communication can be done by different methods as a type of inter-compartment communication, but diagnostic wax-up, along with Digital Smile Design and mock-up, is not only one of the most effective, but also one of the clearest and precise ways of transmitting information from the dental technician to the dentist, and implicitly to the patient, but also vice versa. Restoring the morphology and functionality of dental arches affected by carious lesions and/or edentations using fixed prosthetic restorations has been a continuous challenge for dentists. Porcelain fused to metal prosthetic restorations using lost wax technique or modern digital methods have proven to be a useful tool in restoring aesthetics and mastication, aspects that lead to the social reintegration of patients. The natural aspect of the prosthetic restoration depends on the talent and inspiration of the dental technician as the art of layering of ceramic masses cannot be surpassed by new emerging technologies. In the last 2 decades, exciting new developments have led to the success in dentistry of CADCAM technology.
