In the last 2 decades, exciting new developments have led to the success in dentistry of CADCAM technology. Thus, the objectives of this material are to describe a practical situation, insisting mainly on the technological aspects, regarding the use of CAD-CAM technology in obtaining the wax pattern of the metallic infrastructure for fixed prosthetic restorations.
