Aqueous Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors (AZHSCs) combining the advantages of high‐energy batteries and high‐power supercapacitors see a bright future, but they still suffer from the poor capacity of carbonic cathodes. Herein, a functionalized porous carbon cloth (denoted as FPCC) electrode is demonstrated based on commercial carbon cloth (denoted as CC) tuning by structural and surface engineering. The constructed exfoliated porous carbon layer and the negatively charged functionalized interface not only increase the electrical double layer capacitance but also favor the chemical adsorption of Zn2+ to obtain additional pseudocapacitance. Consequently, the FPCC electrode delivers a high capacity of 0.16 mAh cm−2 at 4 mA cm−2, which is 923.8 times higher than CC, and a long cycle life (85.0% capacity retention after 30 000 cycles). More importantly, the Zn//FPCC AZHSC possesses an impressive energy density (3.3 mWh cm−3) and power density (240 mW cm−3), superior to many advanced batteries and supercapacitors. Objective. In this study, we utilized gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue-modified indocyanine green (GnRHa-ICG) to improve the accuracy of intraoperative recognition and resection of endometriotic lesions. Methods. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR) expression was detected in endometriosis tissues and cell lines via immunohistochemistry and western blotting. The in vitro binding capacities of GnRHa, GnRHa-ICG, and ICG were determined using fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. In vivo imaging was performed in mouse models of endometriosis using a near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging system and fluorescence navigation system. The ex vivo binding capacity was determined using confocal fluorescence microscopy. Results. GnRHa-ICG exhibited a significantly stronger binding capacity to endometriotic cells and tissues than ICG. In mice with endometriosis, GnRHa-ICG specifically imaged endometriotic tissues (EMTs) after intraperitoneal administration, whereas ICG exhibited signals in the intestine. GnRHa-ICG showed the highest fluorescence signals in the EMTs at 2 h and a good signal-to-noise ratio at 48 h postadministration. Compared with traditional surgery under white light, targeted NIRF imaging-guided surgery completely resected endometriotic lesions with a sensitivity of 97.3% and specificity of 77.8%. No obvious toxicity was observed in routine blood tests, serum biochemicals, or histopathology in mice. Conclusions. Objectives: The associations between the triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index with subsequent stroke in American adults are unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the associations between baseline and trajectories of TyG index with subsequent stroke in American adults. Methods: A total of 10,132 participants free of a history of stroke at baseline were included. We quantified the association of baseline and trajectories of TyG index with incident total stroke, ischemic stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage using Cox regression, restricted cubic splines and logistic regression analysis. Results: There were 909 incident stroke cases over a median follow-up of 26.6 years. After adjustment for potential confounders, each unit increase in the TyG index was associated with a 32.1% higher risk of incident stroke. Compared with participants in the lowest quartile of the baseline TyG index, those in the highest quartile had a greater risk of incident stroke [HR (95% CI) 1.254 (1.014–1.552)]. Restricted cubic splines showed that the risk of stroke increased in participants with a higher TyG index, especially when the TyG index was > 8.6. Results were similar for incident ischemic stroke. Compared with participants in the lowest quartile of the baseline TyG index, those in the second quartile had a lower risk of intracerebral hemorrhage [HR (95% CI) 0.494 (0.262–0.931)]. Five discrete trajectories with stable TyG indexes at various levels at follow-up visits were identified, and parallel results were observed for the associations of trajectories of TyG index with outcomes. Electrochemical water splitting is considered to be an important method for efficient hydrogen production to alleviate energy shortage and environmental pollution, but its development is currently limited by the slow oxygen evolution reaction (OER). To solve the sluggish reaction kinetics of OER, the focus is on the exploration of low-cost and efficient electrocatalysts, which is quite significant for the development of electrochemical water splitting. Herein, a NiFe layered double hydroxides (LDH) electrocatalyst (denoted as FNH) is achieved by a simple one-step hydrothermal method. The experimental results show that due to the synergistic interaction of introduced Fe species, the FNH possesses a special three-dimensional (3D) vertical nanosheet array structure, which results in efficient ion access. More importantly, the strong electronic interaction between Fe and Ni sites results in the optimized electronic structure of the Ni sites, which not only generates abundant Ni3+ sites as optimized active sites for OER, but also decrease the charge transfer resistance. Thus, the FNH catalyst exhibits an extraordinary overpotential of 386.8 mV to deliver 100 mA cm−2, showing better activity than that of RuO2, and satisfactory cycling stability after continuous operation for 28 h. In order to study the characteristics of fire smoke spread and temperature distribution of a large indoor pedestrian street under different heat release rates and smoke exhaust modes, this paper focuses on the analysis of fire smoke spread, visibility, smoke temperature distribution and variation curves in an atrium. This paper uses a numerical simulation method to conduct research. PyroSim fire simulation software is used to calculate this project, which is based on a full-scale experimental design scheme. The numerical simulation results show that under the conditions of higher heat release rate, the smoke spread rate is greater than that under the conditions of lower heat release rate. Furthermore, the average temperature of smoke in the atrium is also greater, up to about 400 °C. The conditions of a higher heat release rate also show the characteristics of faster generation, faster spread and a larger volume of smoke. When the smoke exhaust system is turned on, the thickness of the smoke layer and the smoke temperature decrease. There then comes a situation where the stabile section of the fire ends in advance. The simulation results of vertical temperature distribution in an atrium can fit the modified McCaffrey plume model in any case. Under all cases, the smoke temperature reaches the maximum directly above the fire source. The horizontal dimensionless smoke temperature rises under the atrium roof, and decreases exponentially with the dimensionless distance from the fire source. The greater the heat release rate of fire source is, the smaller the attenuation coefficient is, with a more than 50% change. When the smoke exhaust system is turned on, the smoke flow accelerates and the smoke is cooled rapidly. Thus, the attenuation coefficient increases. Additionally, the effect of mechanical smoke exhaust is better than natural smoke exhaust, because mechanical smoke exhaust makes air flow and heat exchange more intense. The variation amplitudes of the attenuation coefficient under natural smoke exhaust and mechanical smoke exhaust are 13% and 22%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Selective production of glucose from cellulose in a molten salt hydrate (MSH) shows high efficiency but the separation of glucose is still challenging. To address this issue, we proposed a stepwise method, where cellulose was first hydrolyzed into glucan oligomers and separated via anti-solvent precipitation, followed by being hydrolyzed into glucose under mild conditions. For potential industrial applications, using raw biomass as a substrate is more attractive due to its commercial advantages. However, directly hydrolyzing raw corn stover in an MSH resulted in a low glucan oligomer yield and sugar concentration, together with insufficient separation efficiency. This work demonstrated that the generation of acetic acid during hemicellulose hydrolysis is the critical factor affecting glucan oligomer selectivity. To address this issue, a pre-extraction method using auto-hydrolysis was proposed to remove hemicellulose before MSH hydrolysis. After pre-extraction, the obtained glucan oligomer yield could be enhanced from 59.9% to 79.5%, with the separation efficiency increased from 53.7% to 80.6% by methanol precipitation. Besides, increasing the raw corn stover concentration led to an increase in acetic acid and resulted in glucan oligomer degradation. However, after removing hemicellulose, the concentration of glucan oligomers could be significantly enhanced from less than 72.1 to 121.5 mg mL−1. Thus, pre-extraction of hemicellulose followed by MSH hydrolysis provides a potential application for directly producing glucan oligomers from raw biomass with improved yield and separation efficiency. In this study, a series of numerical simulations were carried out to investigate the effect of fire shutter descending height on the smoke extraction efficiency in a large space atrium. Based on the full-scale fire experiments, this paper carried out more numerical simulations to explore factors affecting the smoke extraction efficiency in the atrium. The smoke flow characteristics, temperature distribution law and smoke extraction efficiency of natural and mechanical smoke exhaust systems were discussed under different heat release rates and fire shutter descending heights. The results show that the smoke spread rate and the average temperature of the smoke are higher with a greater heat release rate. After the mechanical smoke exhaust system is activated, the smoke layer thickness and smoke temperature decrease, and the stable period of heat release rate is shorter. In the condition of natural smoke exhaust, the smoke extraction efficiency increases exponentially with the increase of heat release rate and the descending height of the fire shutter, and the maximum smoke extraction efficiency is 48.8%. In the condition of mechanical smoke exhaust, the smoke extraction efficiency increases with the increase of mechanical exhaust velocity. When the velocity increases to the critical value (8 m/s), the smoke extraction efficiency is essentially stable. The smoke extraction efficiency is increased first with the increase of fire shutter descending height and then has a downward trend when the descending height drops to half, and the maximum smoke extraction efficiency is 70.3% in the condition of mechanical smoke exhaust. Empirical correlations between the smoke extraction efficiency and the dimensionless fire shutter descending height, the dimensionless heat release rate and the dimensionless smoke exhaust velocity have been established. Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) typically suffers from compromised anticancer efficacy owing to the low reactive oxygen species (ROS) yield and complicated tumor microenvironment (TME) which can consume ROS and support the occurrence and development of tumors. Herein, ultrathin‐FeOOH‐coated MnO2 nanospheres (denoted as MO@FHO) as sonosensitizers which can not only facilitate ultrasound (US)‐triggered ROS but also tune the TME by hypoxia alleviation, H2O2 consumption as well as glutathione (GSH) depletion are designed. The FeOOH coating will boost the production yield of singlet oxygen (1O2) and hydroxyl radicals (•OH) by inhibiting the recombination of US‐initiated electron–hole pairs and Fenton‐like reaction, respectively. Additionally, the catalase‐like and GSH peroxidase‐like activities of MO@FHO nanospheres enable them to break the TME equilibrium via hypoxia alleviation and GSH depletion. The combination of high ROS yield and fundamental destruction of TME equilibrium results in satisfactory antitumor outcomes, as demonstrated by the high tumor suppression efficacy of MO@FHO on MDA‐MB‐231‐tumor‐bearing mice. No obvious toxicity is detected to normal tissues at therapeutic doses in vivo. Molten salt hydrate (MSH) is unique in cellulose dissolution and in one-pot conversion of crystalline cellulose into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF). However, low yield of 5-HMF was obtained using raw biomass substrate in MSHs. Herein, we investigated conversion of raw biomass towards HMF using MSHs. We showed that the release of acetic acid from hemicellulose degradation in MSH is a key to influence the yield of 5-HMF. Thus, an autohydrolysis pretreatment method was proposed to remove hemicellulose before conversion of cellulose into 5-HMF. After being pretreated at 180 °C for 40 min, hemicellulose was removed from biomass with 91.8% yield of cellulose remained in solid part. By eliminating the negative effect of acetic acid, 5-HMF yield was significantly improved from 40.9% to 64.6%, together with 9.3% yield of glucose for cellulose conversion in MSH/acetone at 180 °C for 20 min. The basic premise of anammox-technical application reliability in municipal wastewater treatment is substantially enriched anammox bacteria. To enrich the anammox, the special interaction mechanism between the suspended sludge (SS) and anoxic biofilm was investigated over three months in a partial denitrification/anammox biosystem subjected to dynamic changes in SS (absence→ presence→ absence). Results show that the introduction of SS significantly decreased the anammox nitrogen removal efficiency (83.8 ± 6.5%→ 48.7 ± 17.0%). With the presence or absence of SS, the spatial distribution of anammox bacteria within the anoxic biofilm gradually changed between the inner and outer layers, as detected by CLSM-FISH. qPCR and metagenomic sequencing show that changes in the presence and absence status of SS significantly reduced the abundance of the NO reducing functional gene, while the NO supply capacity (NO 3 −→NO) was improved, further favoring the anammox process. Batch tests and typical cycles further demonstrated that the anammox bacteria can stably acquire NO 2 −, and anammox bacteria in the anoxic biofilm competed far more NO 2 − than denitrifying bacteria according to the typical pH curve. Accordingly, the abundance of Candidatus Brocadia, as detected by high throughput sequencing, decreased in the anoxic biofilms with the introduction of SS, but greatly increased (0.82%→2.22%) after SS discharge. Effluent quality deterioration caused by seasonal temperature reductions in wastewater treatment systems using partial anammox technology is a challenge that cannot be ignored. Here, relationships of denitrification and anammox under decreasing temperature were investigated in an anoxic moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR). Compared with stable partial-denitrification (NO 3 – → NO 2 –), the NO 2 – reduction to N 2 was considerably inhibited when the temperature decreased, conversely helping to the competition of NO 2 – for anammox. Namely, this transformation provided sufficient substrates for anammox bacteria. Although the TIN removal decreased slightly, anammox contribution was robustly maintained at 91.3 ± 6.6 %, even increased. High-throughput sequencing results revealed that anammox bacteria were enriched (0.56 % to 1.22 %). Moreover, qPCR results showed that increased ratio of hzsB /(nirK + nirS) further supported anammox gained an enhancement. This study demonstrated partial-denitrification/anammox process using anoxic MBBR could maintain stable autotrophic nitrogen removal contribution when encountering temperature decrease, providing a new perspective on the application of mainstream anammox. The rapid growth of data and the requirement of designers to track massive data to obtain design stimuli have posed challenges to conceptual design, thereby promoting the development of data-driven design. Concept networks precisely capture design information from a large volume of unstructured and heterogeneous textual data and saliently decrease time and labor cost for designers to read texts, which creates new opportunities for developing a smart product design system. To advance data-driven design, this study proposes the novel function-structure concept network (FSCN) construction method, which combines sentence parsing and word/phrase extraction to integrate functional and structural information. Furthermore, a network analysis method is proposed to explore design information associations that contain both explicit and implicit associations together and thereby recommend them simultaneously to designers as inspirational stimuli to support design ideation. This approach can enhance designers' capabilities to build associations between design information, conceive new design ideas during conceptual design, and increase creativity for solving design problems. The proposed FSCN construction and analysis method can be used as an auxiliary tool to visualize associations among design information so as to inspire idea generation in the early stage of conceptual design. This study examines the hepatoprotective activity of naringin loaded solid nanoparticles (NRG-SLNs) and compared with free naringin (FNRG) against aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) induced hepatocellular carcinoma. The liver's self-healing ability was studied using a self-recovery group that received no therapy. Following AFB1 therapy, rats were given NRG-SLNs produced using the ion-gelation technique. Histology, serum injury indicators, oxidative stress biomarkers, a pro-inflammatory response biomarker, and tumor indicators were used to evaluate the liver tumor and its responsiveness to therapy. At a dosage of 6.18 mg/kg BW, NRG-SLNs (128 ± 4 nm) provided substantially greater hepatoprotection than free NRG. The actions of NRG-SLNs were equivalent to those of silymarin (SILY), which was given at a dosage of 20 mg/kg BW. The lack of regeneration potential of liver tissue after the damage was verified by the self-recovery group. NRG's efficiency in treating hepatic cancer was increased by using SLN's approach. The increased impact is most likely due to: a) enhanced oral bioavailability, b) the regulated and sustained action of enclosed NRG, and c) a decrease in discomfort and toxicity if any after orally administered. Background: Accurate segmentation of brain glioma is a critical prerequisite for clinical diagnosis, surgical planning and treatment evaluation. In current clinical workflow, physicians typically perform delineation of brain tumor subregions slice‐by‐slice, which is more susceptible to variabilities in raters and also time‐consuming. Besides, even though convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are driving progress, the performance of standard models still have some room for further improvement. Purpose: To deal with these issues, this paper proposes an attention‐guided multi‐scale context aggregation network (AMCA‐Net) for the accurate segmentation of brain glioma in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images with multi‐modalities. Methods: AMCA‐Net extracts the multi‐scale features from the MRI images and fuses the extracted discriminative features via a self‐attention mechanism for brain glioma segmentation. The extraction is performed via a series of down‐sampling, convolution layers, and the global context information guidance (GCIG) modules are developed to fuse the features extracted for contextual features. At the end of the down‐sampling, a multi‐scale fusion (MSF) module is designed to exploit and combine all the extracted multi‐scale features. Each of the GCIG and MSF modules contain a channel attention (CA) module that can adaptively calibrate feature responses and emphasize the most relevant features. Finally, multiple predictions with different resolutions are fused through different weightings given by a multi‐resolution adaptation (MRA) module instead of the use of averaging or max‐pooling to improve the final segmentation results. Results: Datasets used in this paper are publicly accessible, that is, the Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation Challenges 2018 (BraTS2018) and 2019 (BraTS2019). BraTS2018 contains 285 patient cases and BraTS2019 contains 335 cases. Simulations show that the AMCA‐Net has better or comparable performance against that of the other state‐of‐the‐art models. In terms of the Dice score and Hausdorff 95 for the BraTS2018 dataset, 90.4% and 10.2 mm for the whole tumor region (WT), 83.9% and 7.4 mm for the tumor core region (TC), 80.2% and 4.3 mm for the enhancing tumor region (ET), whereas the Dice score and Hausdorff 95 for the BraTS2019 dataset, 91.0% and 10.7 mm for the WT, 84.2% and 8.4 mm for the TC, 80.1% and 4.8 mm for the ET. Conclusions: The proposed AMCA‐Net performs comparably well in comparison to several state‐of‐the‐art neural net models in identifying the areas involving the peritumoral edema, enhancing tumor, and necrotic and non‐enhancing tumor core of brain glioma, which has great potential for clinical practice. The conventional fractionation of lignocellulose into cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin was generally carried out at high temperatures and under highly acidic conditions owing to the rigid matrix of lignocellulose and crystallinity of cellulose, causing the degradation of carbohydrates and condensation of lignin, thus hindering their value-added utilization. In this study, a stepwise fractionation method was proposed in which microwave-assisted fractionation of hemicellulose under mild conditions contributed to 81.9% of xylose yield; then, the cellulose part solid was rapidly dissolved in LiBr molten salt hydrate (LiBr-MSH) solution, followed by a filtration process to isolate lignin solid. It was found that the removal of hemicellulose provided more pores for the next dissolution of cellulose, and LiBr-MSH caused the cleavage of the hydrogen bonds of cellulose. Consequently, the cellulose part solid was rapidly dissolved in LiBr-MSH. The results showed that under the optimal fractionation conditions, 78.0% yield of glucan oligomers and 89.7% purity of noncondensed lignin were obtained from cellulose fractionation and filtration, respectively. A high β-O-4 bond content close to 87.3% of the theoretical maximum yield was detected in the obtained lignin, indicating that most β-O-4 bond structure of lignin was well preserved. Additionally, the isolated lignin can be selectively depolymerized into aromatic monomers with a high yield of 20.4%, which is 74.2% of the theoretical maximum yield. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of mortality, and vascular calcification has been highly correlated with CVD events. Abdominal aortic calcification (AAC) has been shown to predict subclinical CVD and incident CVD events. However, the relationship between vitamin C and abdominal aortic calcification remains unclear. Objective: To investigate the relationship of dietary vitamin C with AAC among the adult population in the US. Methods: The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2013–2014 provided the data for the cross-sectional study. 2297 subjects (1089 males) were included in the study. Two scoring systems, AAC 24-point scale (Kauppila) and AAC 8-point scale (Schousboe), were used for the measurement of AAC score. Dietary vitamin C intake was calculated as the average of two rounds of 24-h interview recall data and classified in tertiles for analysis. We applied weighted multiple regression analyses to assess the relationship of dietary vitamin C with AAC score and the risk of having AAC. To ensure the robustness of the findings, subgroup and sensitivity analyses were performed. Additionally, smooth curve fittings, using generalized additive models (GAM) were employed to visualize potential nonlinear relationships. Furthermore, an exploratory analysis on the relationship of vitamin C supplements with AAC was also conducted. Results: The results showed that higher dietary vitamin C intake was related to a reduction in AAC score (AAC-24: β = -0.338, 95% confidence interval [CI] -0.565, -0.111, P = 0.004; AAC-8: β = -0.132, 95%CI -0.217, -0.047, P = 0.002), and lower risk of AAC (odds ratio [OR] = 0.807, 95%CI 0.659, 0.989, P = 0.038). However, the relationship of vitamin C supplements with AAC was not identified. Conclusions: The study revealed that higher intake of dietary vitamin C rather than vitamin C supplements was related to reduced AAC score and lower risk of AAC, indicating that diets rich in vitamin C are recommended due to its potential benefits for protecting against vascular calcification and CVD among the adult population in the US. For municipal wastewater treatment via partial-denitrification/anammox (PD/A) in the anoxic zone, the primary challenge is effective enrichment of anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) bacteria with a stable autotrophic nitrogen removal performance. This long-term study investigated a pure-biofilm anoxic/oxic reactor using real municipal wastewater with an ammonia concentration of 49.1 ± 3.6 mg N/L, achieving a total inorganic nitrogen concentration of 11.2 ± 3.5 mg N/L in the effluent, resulting in a removal efficiency of 77.4 ± 7.2%. Driven by partial denitrification, the anammox contribution to total nitrogen removal represented an ultra-high level over 55%, and was considerable in the first anoxic zone. Candidatus Brocadia, the only anammox genus detected by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, reached robust abundances of 5.46, 6.49 and 5.79% in the three sequentially connected anoxic zones. Metagenomic sequencing further identified that the main species was Ca. Brocadia sapporoensis, which is inhibited by nitrite but not by acetate, supporting its high-level enrichment under acetate conditions in the anoxic zone. Batch tests indicate that heterotrophic denitrification activity decreased while anammox activity increased along the anoxic zones, and that excessive heterotrophic denitrifying activity was not conducive to increasing the anammox contribution. This study achieved robust anammox bacterial abundance using a pure-biofilm system, shedding fresh light on the application of mainstream anammox in municipal wastewater treatment. In this study, we explored the effects of cold ischemia on chronic steatosis and lipid signaling in vivo. Sprague Dawley (SD) rat models of chronic steatosis were established. Pathological observations and liver indices were assessed through hematoxylin-eosin (HE)- and Oil Red O staining. Autophagy and metabolism in adipose tissue were analyzed under post-ischemia and hypoxic conditions via western blotting and immunofluorescent analysis. We found that cold ischemia treatment exacerbated hepatic steatosis and reduced lipid phagocytosis. This manifested as a loss of Microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3) and Perilipin 2 (PLIN2), and lower levels of autophagy. Cold ischemia also inhibited lipophagy in transplanted rat livers, most notably in moderate-to-severe steatosis models. Ischemia and hypoxia inhibited lipid phagocytosis and increased lipid accumulation. Collectively, these data show that chronic steatosis aggravates cold storage induced acute ischemic injury in rat donor livers through the inhibition of lipophagy. This study investigated the in situ start-up of PD/A process in a traditional A2/O process. The PD/A system was rapidly started up within 60 days by adding virgin carriers into the anoxic zone and then run stably for the next 90 days. The in situ anammox activity reached 1.0 ± 0.1 mg NH 4 +-N/L/h contributing 37.9 ± 6.2% of total nitrogen removal. As a result, the nitrogen removal efficiency of the system increased by 16.9%. The anammox bacteria (AnAOB) on the anoxic biofilms were enriched with a doubling time of 14.53d, and the relative abundance reached 2.49% on day 150. Phylogenetic analysis showed the dominant AnAOB was related to Ca. Brocadia sp. 40, which was the only detected anammox genus in the anoxic biofilm from start-up to stable operation. Batch tests and qPCR results revealed that compared with the floc sludge, the anoxic biofilms exhibited NO 2 − accumulation driven by PD and performed a better coordination between denitrifiers and AnAOB. Food quality assessment is an important part of the food industry. The traditional food quality assessment technologies have the limitations of inconsistent and different technical defects for each method. Data mining technology has significant advantages in dealing with the problems of uncertainty and fuzziness. Therefore, this study proposes a food quality assessment model based on data mining, which aims to realize the standardization and consistency of food quality assessment, and can achieve or exceed the accuracy of existing technologies, so as to solve the obvious problems existing in traditional assessment methods. The core of the proposed model is to design a deep learning framework based on double layer rough-refinement optimization. The first layer is rough optimization, which introduces the thought of multi-objective optimization to optimize the topological structure of neural networks with various candidate types and candidate depths. The second layer is refinement adjustment, which uses meta heuristic algorithm to globally optimize the weight parameters of the network model. The combination of rough and refinement optimization can greatly reduce the computation of overall simultaneous optimization and globally optimize the neural network model with the highest accuracy from the neural network type, topology, and network parameters. Two kinds of food quality assessment problems are used to simulate and verify the proposed deep learning framework. Background: The prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been extensively studied. However, the impact on prognosis of stage I HCC has not been well studied at clincopathological, mutational and transcriptional levels.Methods: Here we first characterized the influencing factors of prognosis of stage I HCC patients by downloading and analyzing the whole-exome somatic mutation data, messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) transcription data, along with demographic and clinical information of 163 stage I HCC patients from the TCGA database. The relationship between the influencing factors and HCC prognosis was studied in detail, and a prediction Nomogram model was established. Figures and tables were plotted using the R software.Results: TP53, CTNNB1, TTN, MUC16 and ALB were the top mutated genes in stage I HCC. A series of co-mutations and mutually exclusive mutations were identified. Twenty-nine genes with significant stratification on prognosis were identified, including highly mutated LRP1B, ARID1A and PTPRQ. Patients with wild type (WT) genes unanimously exhibited significantly better overall survival rate than those with mutants. Patients with the top 10% tumor mutational burden (TMB) exhibited significantly worse prognosis than the rest 90%. Further characterization of transcriptional profile revealed that membrane functions, cell skeleton proteins, ion channels, receptor function and cell cycle were comprehensively altered in stage I HCC. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed at clinicopathological, mutational and transcriptional levels. The combined analysis revealed sex, race, TMB, neoplasm histologic grade, Child-Pugh grade, MMRN1, OXT and COX6A2 transcription as independent risk factors. These factors were used to establish a Nomogram model to predict the prognosis of individual HCC patients.Conclusions: The influencing factors of prognosis of stage I HCC have been characterized for the first time at clinicopathological, mutational and transcriptional levels. Endometriosis (EMs) is characterized by inflammatory lesions, dysmenorrhea, infertility, and chronic pelvic pain. Single-target medications often fail to provide systemic therapeutic results owing to the complex mechanism underlying endometriosis. Although traditional Chinese medicines—such as Juan-Tong-Yin (JTY)—have shown promising results, their mechanisms of action remain largely unknown. To elucidate the therapeutic mechanism of JTY in EMs, focusing on endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced autophagy. The major components of JTY were detected using high-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS). The potential mechanism of JTY in EMs treatment was predicted using network pharmacological analysis. Finally, the pathogenesis of EMs was validated in a clinical case-control study and the molecular mechanism of JTY was validated in vitro using endometrial stromal cells (ESCs). In total, 241 compounds were analyzed and identified from JTY using UPLC–MS. Network pharmacology revealed 288 targets between the JTY components and EMs. Results of the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and Gene Ontology (GO) analyses indicated that regulating autophagy, migration, apoptosis, and inflammation were the key mechanisms of JTY in treating EMs. Meanwhile, we found that protein kinase R-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase (PERK), Beclin-1, and microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 B (LC3B) expressions were lower in endometria of patients with EMs than in those with normal eutopic endometria (p < 0.05). Additionally, during in vitro experiments, treatment with 20% JTY-containing serum significantly suppressed ESC proliferation, achieving optimal effects after 48 h. Electron microscopy revealed significantly increased autophagy flux in the JTY group compared with the control group. Moreover, JTY treatment significantly reduced the migratory and invasive abilities of ESCs and upregulated protein expression of PERK, eukaryotic initiation factor 2α (eIF2α)/phospho-eukaryotic initiation factor 2α (p-eIF2α), activating Transcription Factor-4 (ATF4), Beclin-1, and LC3BII/I, while subsequently downregulating NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3 (NLRP3) and interleukin 18 (IL-18) expression. However, administration of GSK2656157—a highly selective PERK inhibitor—reversed these changes. The deterioration of a composite insulator's mandrel will cause a serious power-grid accident, so it is necessary to find the defect as soon as possible. Infrared imaging is an effective means to detect mandrel-deterioration defects, but sheath-aging defects will cause trouble to screen mandrel deterioration. Therefore, it is urgent to distinguish the two defects. In this paper, two composite insulators that are out of service with different heating characteristics are tested and analyzed, and the temperature-rise characteristics are analyzed by building a simulation model. The results show that the temperature rise of composite insulators with oxidative decomposition of epoxy resin is large, and the range usually extends from the hardware of the high-voltage side to several umbrella skirts. The temperature rise caused by the composite insulator with the fiber completely wrapped by epoxy resin is small, which mainly occurs from the hardware to the first umbrella skirt. The simulation model constructed in this paper is consistent with the experimental results, which verifies the accuracy of the model. The model can distinguish the mandrel-deterioration defect and sheath-aging defect, and has guiding significance and important reference value for the detection rate of the mandrel-deterioration composite insulator and ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power grid. Lung cancer accounts for the greatest number of cancer-related mortality, while the accurate evaluation of pulmonary nodules in computed tomography (CT) images can significantly increase the 5-year relative survival rate. Despite deep learning methods that have recently been introduced to the identification of malignant nodules, a substantial challenge remains due to the limited datasets. In this study, we propose a cascaded-recalibrated multiple instance learning (MIL) model based on multiattribute features transfer for pathologic-level lung cancer prediction in CT images. This cascaded-recalibrated MIL deep model incorporates a cascaded recalibration mechanism at the nodule level and attribute level, which fuses the informative attribute features into nodule embeddings and then the key nodule features can be converged into the patient-level embedding to improve the performance of lung cancer prediction. We evaluated the proposed cascaded-recalibrated MIL model on the public Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative (LIDC-IDRI) benchmark dataset and compared it to the latest approaches. The experimental results showed a significant performance boost by the cascaded-recalibrated MIL model over the higher-order transfer learning, instance-space MIL, and embedding-space MIL models and the radiologists. In addition, the recalibration coefficients of the nodule and attribute feature for the final decision were also analyzed to reveal the underlying relationship between the confirmed diagnosis and its highly-correlated attributes. The cascaded recalibration mechanism enables the MIL model to pay more attention to those important nodules and attributes while suppressing less-useful feature embeddings, and the cascaded-recalibrated MIL model provides substantial improvements for the pathologic-level lung cancer prediction by using the CT images. Production of 5-HMF from cellulose is a promising approach for advanced bio-fuels preparation, but the degradation of active 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) is a critical challenge affecting 5-HMF selectivity. To address this issue, biphasic reaction system consisting of water and organic solvent is generally used to in-situ extract 5-HMF into organic phase to inhibit product degradation. Despite the high 5-HMF selectivity achieved in biphasic system, low product concentration and difficulty in separation restrict its industrial applications. Molten salt hydrate (MSH) is unique in cellulose conversion and 5-HMF preservation. In this work, MSH of LiBr was used as monophasic solvent for cellulose conversion and an acidity tunable solid acid AlSiO-x was used as the catalyst. It was found that a relatively high 5-HMF yield of 44.5% together with carbon balance of 75.0% were obtained at 170 °C for 20 min, which is higher than the results ever reported. Importantly, this work proved that the ratio of total Brønsted to Lewis acid sites on solid acid is the key issue affected 5-HMF yield. After reaction, solid acid can be recycled for more than 5 times without catalytic performance decline, and the dissolved 5-HMF can be sufficiently separated from MSH via hyper cross-linked polymer (HCP) adsorption. The conventional fractionation of lignocellulose is generally carried out at high temperatures, high acid or alkali, or using organic solvents due to the rigid matrix of lignocellulose and crystallinity of cellulose, leading to the condensation of lignin and environmental pollution, and hindering the further value-added utilization of lignin. In this work, a rapid fractionation method was proposed, in which hemicellulose and cellulose (holocellulose) were first dissolved and partially hydrolyzed in acidified LiCl molten salt hydrates, followed by a filtration process to isolate the lignin solid with a purity of 88.3%. It was found that the dissolution of holocellulose required the addition of a small amount of acid to break the cellulose chain into short chains. Due to the small amount of acid added and the rapid dissolution, the obtained lignin has as high as 89.5% of β-O-4 bond content close to the theoretical value, suggesting that a promising native lignin structure was preserved. The isolated lignin can be selectively depolymerized into monophenol over Ru/C catalyst with a high yield of 24.2%. In addition, the dissolved holocellulose without containing lignin was selectively hydrolyzed into sugars in acidified LiCl molten salt hydrates, giving 63.1% of xylose, 43.9% of glucose, 29.5% of xylan oligomers, and 48.2% of glucan oligomers, respectively. Promoting reaction conditions benefits lignin production but has negative effect on structural condensation and thus inhibits its value-added applications in depolymerization. To address this issue, a unique fractionation method was proposed using p -TsOH (p -toluenesulfonic acid) in methanol under microwave irradiation to produce high-yield noncondensed lignin. It was found that microwave irradiation efficiently decreased the activation energy of lignin-carbohydrate complex (LCC) bonds cleavage from 102.1 to 63.8 kJ/mol and thereby facilitated lignin exfoliation from carbohydrates. And an effective α-alkoxylation reaction occurred between methanol molecular and C α -OH group in lignin, which protected β -O-4 linkages from condensation. After being fractionated under a relatively mild fractionation condition of 85 ℃ for 30 min, a promising lignin yield of 87.9 % can be obtained from poplar sawdust, with 91.8 % of ether bonds preserved. The obtained lignin can be selectively depolymerized into monophenols with a high yield of 42.0 %, which was 74.9 % to the theoretical yield. Lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer-related mortality, is the most commonly diagnosed cancer. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are considered a drug-targeted therapy for non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. However, limited data are available involving the activity of EGFR TKIs against rare EGFR mutations. Here, based on an endogenous EGFR-depleted cell Line H3255 by CRISPR, H3255 cells with rare mutant EGFRS768I and compound mutations EGFRS768I+L858R were tested using cell proliferation assay, cytotoxicity, membrane potential, flow cytometry and Western blot analysis. We conducted cytotoxicity screening of EGFR mutations on six front-line TKIs based on first-, second-, and third-generation TKIs (afatinib, dacomitinib, osimertinib, erlotinib, gefitinib, and icotinib). The results showed that the sensitivity of these mutants containing rare variants EGFRS768I to six front-line TKIs was enriched in the irreversible TKI cytotoxicity assays by determining their change in cytotoxicity, apoptosis, cell proliferation and signal pathway factors. Importantly, the variants harboring EGFRL858R (H3255), EGFRS768I (H3255S768I) and EGFRS768I+L858R (H3255S768I+L858R) were sensitive to six TKIs and induced cytotoxicity through different pathways. Moreover, the compound mutations EGFRS768I+L858R showed more TKI resistance than EGFRS768I mutation and EGFRL858R mutation. We present a comprehensive reference for the sensitivity of EGFRS768I variants to six front-line TKIs. Selective hydrolysis of crystalline cellulose to cello-oligosaccharides in molten salt hydrates (MSHs) is a promising method for valorization of lignocellulose. However, the by-products derived from cellulose hydrolysis can facilitate cello-oligosaccharide degradation and decrease its selectivity. To address this issue, lignin-based hyper cross-linked polymers (LHCPs) were prepared to in situ adsorb by-products during hydrolysis and thus prevent cello-oligosaccharides from degradation. The synthesized LHCP‐33%, with a high lignin content of 33%, showed a remarkable surface area of 708.7 m2 g−1 and good hydrophilicity, exhibiting a promising adsorption capacity of 340 mg g−1 towards 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), which is supposed to be the major cellulose-derived by-product. We showed that 5-HMF adsorption was driven by the formation of CH-π bonds between 5-HMF and aromatic rings on LHCP. When LHCP‐33% was employed in cellulose hydrolysis, the yield of cello-oligosaccharide can be efficiently enhanced from 39.5% to 78.2%.
