ABSTRACT Here, we have succeeded in developing an eco‐efficient, mild, and metal‐free synthetic protocol for biologically significant scaffolds: imidazopyridines and their derivatives via radical cyclization from a wide variety of simple 2‐aminopyridines and phenacyl bromides as reactants and utilizing visible light as a reaction promoter in the ethanol/water solvent. To the best of our knowledge, the present strategy is the first example of visible light promoted synthesis of imidazo[1,2‐a]pyridine via the formation of C‐N bonds. The proposed methodology has various advantages namely quick reaction time, low cost, simple setup, high atom efficiency, easy‐availability of reactants and non‐involvement of specific glasswares and photo reactor system. An efficient, one pot, multicomponent, L‐arginine catalyzed synthesis of thiazolo[3,2‐a]pyrimidines is described. L‐arginine is an easily available, biodegradable, inexpensive, promising bio‐organic molecule. The current strategy is the first example of amino acid promoted, green synthesis of a series of thiazolo[3,2‐a]pyrimidines via the formation of CN and CC bonds. The major advantages of the present methodology such as recyclability of catalyst, operational simplicity, easy scale‐up, wide substrate scope, easy work‐up, inexpensive, excellent yields, and high atom economy make it a distinct improvement over the prevailing strategies. A facile multicomponent synthesis of novel thiazolidinone‐bis Schiff base hybrids has been developed using readily available starting materials. The four‐component reaction of isothiocyanate, hydrazine, aldehyde and α‐bromoester in water readily affords thiazolidinone‐bis Schiff base hybrids, whereas the five‐component strategy involving the same reactants in the presence of boron trifluoride etherate in acetonitrile leads to the formation of the fully functionalized thiazolidinone‐bis Schiff base hybrids. We study a class of non-instantaneous impulsive fractional differential equations in a Banach space. We consider the Cauchy problem with Caputo derivative having variable lower limits and almost sectorial operators. We establish the existence of mild solutions in the space of piecewise continuous functions. An expeditious catalyst‐free heteroannulation has been accomplished to access functionalized thiazol‐2(3H)‐ones by the reaction of isothiocyanates and 2‐bromoketones in EtOH under controlled microwave irradiation heating. The synthetic strategy is simple, straightforward, and offers two points of structural diversity to expand the product versatility. Further, the biological relevance of the synthesized thiazol‐2(3H)‐ones has been examined for their possible use as putative acetylcholinesterase inhibitors through molecular docking analysis. Global demand for food has driven expansion and intensification of livestock production, particularly in developing nations where antibiotic use is often routine. Waste from poultry production, including manure, is commonly utilized as fertilizers in agroecosystems, risking environmental contamination with potentially zoonotic bacteria and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs). Here, 33 bacterial isolates were recovered from broiler (n=17) and layer (n=16) chicken manure by aerobic culture using Luria Bertani agar. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) by disc diffusion revealed all isolates were resistant to a minimum of three antibiotics, with resistance to ampicillin, co-trimoxazole, fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines, streptomycin, rifampicin and/or chloramphenicol detected. MALDI-ToF and 16S rRNA sequencing were used to identify and compare a subset of antibiotic-resistant isolates (n=13). Stutzerimonas sp. and Acinetobacter sp. were the common genera observed in this study. Genome sequencing of each selected isolate revealed carriage of multiple ARGs capable of conferring resistance to many antimicrobials commonly employed in poultry production and human medicine, including tetracyclines, quinolones, macrolides, sulfonamide and cephalosporins. Comparison of whole genome sequence assemblies and phenotypic assays were used to assess capacity for biofilm formation, heavy metal tolerance and virulence. The high occurrence of ARGs in studied bacterial isolates confirms that poultry manure could act as a source of genetic material that could be transferred to commensal microbiota and opportunistic pathogens of humans. Fipronil (C12H4Cl2F6N4OS), is a commonly used insecticide effective against numerous insects and pests. Its immense application poses harmful effects on various non-target organisms as well. Therefore, searching the effective methods for the degradation of fipronil is imperative and logical. In this study, fipronil-degrading bacterial species are isolated and characterized from diverse environments using a culture-dependent method followed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis showed the homology of organisms with Acinetobacter sp., Streptomyces sp., Pseudomonas sp., Agrobacterium sp., Rhodococcus sp., Kocuria sp., Priestia sp., Bacillus sp., Pantoea sp. The bacterial degradation potential for fipronil was analyzed through High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. Incubation-based degradation studies revealed that Pseudomonas sp. and Rhodococcus sp. were found to be the most potent isolates that degraded fipronil at 100 mg L-1 concentration, with removal efficiencies of 85.97 % and 83.64 %, respectively. Kinetic parameter studies, following the Michaelis-Menten model, also revealed the high degradation efficiency of these isolates. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis revealed fipronil sulfide, benzaldehyde, (phenyl methylene) hydrazone, isomenthone, etc., as major metabolites of fipronil degradation. Overall investigation suggests that native bacterial species isolated from the contaminated environments could be efficiently utilized for the biodegradation of fipronil. The outcome derived from this study has immense significance in formulating an approach for bioremediation of fipronil-contaminated surroundings.
