Objective To investigate the molecular mechanism of lncRNA (HOTAIR)/miR-206/TAGLN2 signaling axis in regulating the invasion of papillary thyroid carcinoma cells line TPC-1. Methods The papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) and paracancerous tissues were collected from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, and the expression of lncRNA (HOTAIR), miR-206 and TAGLN2 in PTC tissues as well as paracancerous tissues was detected by RT-qPCR and Western blot; The thyroid papillary cancer cells with miR-206 over-expression and HOTAIR under-expression were constructed to detect the expression of target gene and its effect on the invasion of TPC-1 cells by Transwell assay. Results Compared with the adjacent tissue, the expression of HOTAIR in papilla-rythyroid cancer tissue was increased by 2.48 times. miR-206-5p was decreased down to 0.6,and the expression of TAGLN2 was increased (P＜0.05). After over-expression of miR-206, the protein expression of TAGLN2 was decreased in TPC-1 cell, and the invasion of TPC-1 cells was inhibited (P＜0.05). Knockdown of HOTAIR increased expression of miR-206 in TPC-1 cells and decreased the expression of TAGLN2. The Transwell assay showed that the invasion of TPC-1 cells was significantly reduced (P＜0.05). Conclusions In PTC, reducing the expression of HOTAIR results in over-expression of miR-206 then further inhibits the expression of TAGLN2. The biological outcome is inhibition of invasion of thyroid cancer.

Purpose: To evaluate the 1‐year effects of orthokeratology (OK) lenses and spectacle lenses with highly aspherical lenslets (HALs) on axial length (AL) elongation in children with unilateral myopic anisometropia. Methods: This ambispective cohort study recruited 81 children aged 8–14 years with unilateral myopic anisometropia. Of these, 42 participants (mean age 11.07 ± 1.54 years; 23 males) were treated with monocular OK lenses (OK group), and 39 (mean age 10.64 ± 1.72 years; 22 males) with binocular HALs (HAL group). Changes in AL and spherical equivalent refraction (SER) from baseline at 3, 6 and 12 months were compared between eyes and groups. Kaplan–Meier estimation and Cox proportional hazard regression were performed to analyse the risk of myopia onset in the initially non‐myopic eyes. Results: Mean axial elongation in the myopic and non‐myopic eyes at the 12‐month follow‐up visit were 0.17 ± 0.20 and 0.41 ± 0.26 mm in the OK group (p < 0.001) and 0.10 ± 0.15 and 0.12 ± 0.12 mm in the HAL group (p = 0.32), respectively. Compared with the OK group, the non‐myopic eyes in the HAL group had less axial elongation, lower cumulative myopia incidence and percentage of participants with rapid myopic shift at the 6‐ and 12 month follow‐up (all p < 0.05). Cox regression analysis showed that a higher initial SER decreased the risk of myopia onset significantly in the initially non‐myopic eyes (B = −2.06; 95% CI, 0.03–0.49; p = 0.003). Conclusions: Monocular OK lenses suppressed axial elongation in the myopic eye and minimised anisometropia; however, the non‐treated contralateral eye may experience faster myopia onset and myopic shift. Binocular HALs can effectively reduce axial elongation in both eyes of children with unilateral myopic anisometropia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The interaction between novel saponification products (RCOONa or RCOOK) of Robinia pseudoacacia seed oil and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) in aqueous solution have been investigated by surface tension method at 25°C. The critical micelle concentration (cmc) of RCOONa/CTAB and RCOOK/CTAB mixture were measured. The surface properties of saponification products, CTAB as well as the mixed system were explored and compared. The composition, activity coefficient of mixed micelle, and the interaction parameters (βσ, βM) between surfactants were estimated according to the Regular Solution Theory, the Clint's model and the Rubingh's model in the framework of pseudophase separation model. The experimental results suggested that both RCOONa and RCOOK have synergism with CTAB in mixed micelle formation and surface tension reduction through calculating of βσ and βM in the mixed system. As an organic pseudocapacitive active material, 2, 3‐Dichloro‐1, 4‐naphthoquinone (DNQ) was used in supercapacitors. Graphene with unique structures and high electrical conductivity acts as substrate. DNQ non‐covalently modified graphene composite material (DNQ@rGO) was synthesized through the simple solvothermal synthesis. The redox reaction between naphthol and naphthoquinone occurs on reduced graphene oxide(rGO), which forms an ideal pseudocapacitance without destroying its sp2 network. The optimal DNQ@rGO electrode material obtained the specific capacitance of 361.2 Fg−1 at 5 mV s−1 in 1 mol L−1 H2SO4 and exhibited excellent rate capability (capacitance retention of 87.5 % at 100 mV s−1) in the three‐electrode system. We also prepared holey layered oxygen‐rich graphene hydrogels (HLGH) material, whose electrochemical performance is superior to traditional three‐dimensional (3D) graphene hydrogels (GH). Finally, two asymmetric supercapacitors (ASCs) were assembled by using the DNQ@rGO (positive electrode), the HLGH and GH (negative electrode). The results show that the ASC with HLGH as negative electrode achieved the high energy and power densities due to the perfect matching of capacitance and kinetics between the positive and negative electrodes. In this paper, the water dissociation abilities of transition metals Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, and surface Cr incorporated into Co, Ni, and Cu matrix were estimated using density functional theory. The calculations indicate that the transition metal matrix can markedly affect the ability of surface Cr to promote H2O dissociation. The barriers of the H2O dissociation step on Cr, Co, Ni, and Cu increase in sequence. After introducing Cr into a transition metal matrix, the H2O dissociation ability of Cr reduces. Compared with pure metals, doping the Co surface with Cr is less favorable for H2O dissociation and introducing Cr onto Ni and Cu surfaces can accelerate the H2O dissociation reaction and Cr–Ni has stronger H2O dissociation ability than Cr–Cu. The electron distribution calculations show that the electron deviation levels from Cr to the metal matrix are a key factor in affecting the H2O dissociation ability of surface Cr, and strong electron deviation is advantageous. The adsorption calculations reveal that the OH-binding energy of catalyst cannot relate to its H2O dissociation ability and follows a rough volcano relationship with its alkaline HER performance. Photonic lanterns (PLs) have been recently used in mode-division multiplexed systems with a low insertion loss, a low mode-dependent loss (MDL), and a wide bandwidth. However, the cross talk (XT) performance of the PLs requires further enhancement within a short taper length. In this Letter, a multi-stage cascaded scheme for short PLs is proposed to further improve the performance on losses and XT. The XT of the optimized 6-mode 3-stage PL is below -23.4 dB, while the total length is only 6 cm. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first quantitative optimization of a 3-stage tapered PL, resulting in a compact structure and excellent performance. Furthermore, we experimentally validate the feasibility of the 3-stage tapering process.
